“What Are You Waiting For???????”

When’s the last time that you celebrated yourself? I mean really, really celebrated yourself? I’m not talking about the methodically planned spa days that we’ve grown accustomed to thanks to adulthood.

Think about it!

It is without question that life is comprised of a series of events that continuously go on and on until our lives come to an end. Between our respective 9 to 5s, family matters, dating lives, church gatherings and business ventures when do we stop and take a step back to appreciate your hard work? In an age and time where we’re not only keeping up with the Joneses but the Kardashians as well, it’s easy to lose sight on our accomplishments.

Listen, you need to celebrate..YOURSELF!

We’re often so consumed with smelling the roses (not me though….cause I have horrible allergies) that we don’t appreciate our beginning phases..let alone the growth process. The seed was planted. Your hands got dirty at some point and that’s something you need to celebrate!

As I go through this process of self acceptance and maturity, I realized that I don’t give myself enough credit. So I came up with ways to honor myself. Here’s a few of my suggestions:

1. Issa Vibe Trust me I understand how up and down life can get. So set aside a couple of hours for some “ME” time. Create a celebratory atmosphere. Make or pickup your favorite meal (I’m a foodie…sorry NOT sorry), grab a bottle of your favorite bubbly(alcoholic or non), light a candle or make plans to head to your favorite thinking place.

2. 7/11 Bask in your AWESOMENESS! Oh trust me, I’m humble but I’ve learned that celebrating myself is an entirely different feeling than having a crowd do it! Be proud!!!! Chile, you’re awesome and there’s nothing you can really do about it. Thank God for what he’s placed inside you and/or entrusted you with! Previously I did a post on Self Sabotaging. I’ve done ALOT of it. One of the things I’ve done to combat this behavior is reviewing my work. I’m a wardrobe stylist and model (which i recently started owning). I pull up my portfolio for both and go through them separately .

3. Toot That Thang Up Did you review your work? Did you see that amazing job that you did?

Your preschooler’s reading on a 1st grade level, your teen cleaned their room with having to be asked, you started that business… you deserve this praise…Go ahead and toot your own horn. Sure we have support systems rooting for us, but there’s nothing like self appreciation and self acknowledgement to push us to another level. We’re often frustrated during the beginning phases of whatever we’re working on and leave the project on the table unfinished. Its important that we applaud ourselves throughout the journey. 4. Just Throw It In The Bag Reward yourself!!!!!! Why? Because when others would’ve given up, you didn’t!!!!!! Your reward doesn’t have to be large or even materialistic just as long as it something you want and appreciate. Now if those new Louboutins happen to be in your budget, by all means babe…throw them in the bag and tag me in your picture. 5. Rake It Up Look back over what you’ve accomplished. Do you see any room for improvement? Make a list..check it twice. Figure out how you can make this seed …sprout! 6. Now Get Back To The Money You’ve gone through the previous steps and they’ve lead you here! Let the pride you feel and the list of improvements motivate you to continue on. Tweak what needs to be fixed, scrap what doesn’t belong and get back out there. Giving up on your dreams and desires isn’t an option. What we must strive to do is revamp the idea/plan/technique until it’s what it’s supposed to be. There’s greatness in you. There’s something that you were destined to do and be. Get back to it!!!!
