I’LL-IT - Tick Tack (Review)

I didn’t think I’d be too fond of ILLIT’s music at the beginning because it was just basic stuff. But I think going forward I’m really going to like the group way more and this song is a factor in that.

Tick Tack - I’LL-IT

I’ve been obsessed with this song recently and I’m gonna be honest at first it annoyed me a little but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t grow on me. I’d go as far as to say this is my favorite ILLIT song they’ve released so far (that being said it doesn’t have much competition). The music video is really captivating and interesting to me and I like it a lot more than their other ones. The song itself is good but is plighted by the fact it’s shorter than Jackson Wang’s micropenis but that’s a minor flaw. This review is really short because I have not much more to say other than this was a really nice song

The Tolorr Museum of Natural History houses all manner of remains of ancient life, as well as more modern medical curiosities. A miner donated a strange skeleton they found deep in the caves, a two headed kobold of unknown origin. None of the local clans claimed to have lost a two headed kobold, suggesting that the poor creature had passed a long time ago. The displayed bones attracted many visitors over the years, to the secret delight of the slumbering-but-still-awake kobold.

Of course, many natural artifacts are positively pulsing with primal magic, and sometimes this attracts unwanted attention. One night, a wizard who had set his sights on several of the magic items contained in the museum, broke in to steal them for his own nefarious purposes. When the overnight guards set upon him, he turned to the skeletal display. With a flick of his fingers the bones began to animate, and he ordered the raised skeleton to defend him.

Instead, the kobold’s two heads looked at each other, silently communicating amongst themselves. They looked around at the museum that had been their home for at least a hundred years by now, the dwarven guards who would sometimes speak to them in the late night hours, treating them like a friend. They thought of the visitors, the children who would look at their bones in wonder. Yeah, no way were they helping this guy rob the place.

They staggered forward, arms outstretched in an exaggerated “I’m totally undead” pose. The necromancer cackled and said some lame shit about how they’ll never stop him now, just before the kobold’s skeletal hands closed around his neck. Claws dug in and they squeezed tighter and tighter, until the necromancer wasn’t a problem anymore.

Since then, Tick and Tack the kobold(s) have prowled the halls of the museum, preparing new objects for display and offering information on the exhibits to any guest that shows interest. Tick’s style is more scholarly — his lectures will teach you a lot, if you can stay awake through them. Tack fortunately is there to break up his brother’s monotonous tone with spontaneous fun facts about the exhibits.

When the proprietors of the museum, the Goldhilt Clan Tolorr, inform Tick and Tack that they have been invited to partake in an expedition, they take it as a great honor. They can’t wait to put their skills in recording and relaying knowledge to good use, for the benefit of the museum that has given them a home and a purpose.

Showed my bf EXO tonight (as one does), and told him that it’s a pass or fail test (bc it is) but bc he doesn’t listen to kpop I’ll give him three specific songs and he needs to enjoy one of them to pass the test. The three songs were kokobop, lotto, and lucky one. (He actually enjoyed both lotto and lucky one, had no real opinion on kokobop.) So, he passed. since you were best friends, you obviously played games with jisung a lot. well, today your usual game sesh went a little too far. you were playing mario kart, and ever the competitive one you were, jisung threw a banana peel at you and got a little… mad.

“BRO???” you yelled, jaw dropping as you watched your car spin off the map, jisung sitting next to you and just laughing. you reached over the coffee table, putting your hair up and sighing, mentally collecting yourself. “this is bullshit,” you mumbled, taking your controller back into your hands as it came up on the screen that jisung had won the last round.

jisung rolled his eyes, reaching over and delicately pushing your hair behind your ear before pressing the play button again. “you’re such a sore loser, yn,” he teased, raising an eyebrow as you glared at him, your eyes narrowing. “zip it.” you warned, hitting him in the side with your elbow, not enough to actually hurt him, although he let out a small “ow.” 

as the next round started, jisung hummed thoughtfully, an idea coming to his head. “what if,” he started, glancing over at you and then quickly back to the screen. “if you win this round, i’ll pay for your meals for a week.” you kept your eyes glued on the screen, but your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. there had to be a catch to this. “and if you win?” you asked suspiciously.

you could see out of the corner of your eye, he bit down his bottom lip, almost like he was unsure if he should say what he really wanted to. “if i win… you have to give me a kiss,” his voice curved at the end, almost like it was a question more than a statement. you raised an eyebrow, almost falling off the map again in the game but quickly regaining your steadiness. “like… on the lips?” he nodded sheepishly, and you swear you could feel your cheeks get a little warmer, but you agreed.

long story short, he won, after practically bumping you off the map, and you gave in. it was a little weird, no? best friends don’t usually kiss. at least, not that you know of. still, the little voice in your head was egging you on, along with the fact that you couldn’t say no to jisung without feeling bad, so… it happened.

it was quick, you were a little stiff, but that didn’t stop the moment itself from making your heart practically stop. one thing you noticed was that he didn’t pull away, he didn’t push you off. you pulled away, actually, mainly because of anxiousness. you quickly looked away, eyes glued to the ground in an attempt to not make accidental eye contact, since that would probably make this all the more awkward.

“um… i can still do the meal thing if you want,” he spoke up, which, you noticed his voice was a little shaky. “i’m hungry.”

were you gonna talk about the kiss? probably, maybe over dinner. but for now, you were just going to mentally tell yourself that you were still platonic. just to not get your hopes up. even if, deep down, you both knew this was going to change everything.
