I used to browse the @/maxismatchccworld blog back when it was updated regularly, it is still a good resource for older content. What I would recommend is maybe go through it and if you see a post you like you can move to the creator’s blog to see what else they have made (not every post gets reblogged).

Active cc finds blogs I can think of are @/mmfinds and @/sssvitlanz - I still suggest you apply the same logic (i.e. if you find a creator you like, move to their blog to see the rest of their content).

If you have a Tumblr account you might also want to follow some creators directly, or browse through tags such as “s4cc” or “s4mm” to find more cc that slips through the cracks of cc finds blogs.

I also have a personal cc finds blog @/oydisfinds (linked on my desktop theme) but I’m not particularly active. I try to be consistent with tags but don’t rely on the navigation panel too much lol

What the Heck happened Here!

Woohoo! Cristina's household is up next in rotation! Over the years Joanna, Alyson and Jess have all moved out to start their own lives so it's just Cristina and Alicia now. WOW! Girls! What happened here!? Why is there rotting food everywhere!?

The girls were already doing well financially due to Alicia's success writing, but I checked inventory and it looks like Cristina has been BUSY! She is a criminal and kleptomaniac after all. Hmm...this could come in handy, I was going to just redecorate, but why redecorate when you could just move on up!

I moved them into what was once (long ago) the home of Howard, Billie, Dimitri and Terrell and set to work converting it from 1 bed 1 bath to 2 bed 2 bath!. Seems a good time to catch up on some neighborhood relationship news. OMG! Edith and Clark! In round two I was sorta hoping these two would get together, but Clark got back together with Jess which of course didn't work out. On a side note, definitely NOT surprised about Alyson and Terrell, these two have major fights ALL the time! It may be time to push dates with different sims once I get to their household.

Well, both bedrooms are decked out in the girl's favorite colors...

Time for the first floor perhaps? And I gave Alicia a new look, but it's not quite her personality...hmm... I need to go on a cc shopping spree.

Alicia went to the festival and ran into Kyle. Her on again off again, currently off, boyfriend. I'm honestly not sure why these two break up all the time they seem compatible and I've never received a notification of them fighting.

They immediately started flirting again. Is she just not attracted to him?

Nope! That's definitely not it! It's kind of sad! These two really should get back together and stay that way.

They hugged goodbye and it was off to the basecamp lot for Alicia for some quiet study time.

Meanwhile, Cristina was playing chess and trying to flirt with Woodrow! Cristina! Don't you dare break up his happy marriage!

Oh wow! This is new! I mean, these two have been good friends for years and I'm glad Brianna is moving on, but I don't know that I'd ever put these two together as a couple...hmm, we'll see where this goes!

hi, babies!! spent some time away from the sims as i've had a hectic last few weeks 😭 my internet has been down so i haven't been able to publish anything including more townie downloads, however, i did make a patreon and uploaded the download link for cara-mia logan there. if you would like to add her to your game you can get her here.

anyway, i decided that, even though it is now the beginning of may, i would make a winter lookbook! it was completely on a whim, seeing as before now i had little to no winter clothing for my sims and had gone on a little cc shopping spree, and you can never have too many winter clothing items for your sims.

i will note though, that the jacket included in the first look was actually made in such a way that it always looks like the sims wearing it constantly have their hands in their pockets, and that it is not a pose for the screenshot, so if that's not something you like i just wanted to give a little heads up :)

Sims 4 Custom Content Build List

This list of custom content is for the most recent video on my YT channel, where I build the most adorable witch cottage in the forest of Henford on Bagley! If there are any items that I missed please let me know and I'll try to find them! For now I will just be linking the creators pages, and listing which items I used from them, and mentioning some sets.

Also! I wanted to note that I have never paid for any of the custom content that I use, so nothing that you'll be looking for will ever be behind a paywall!

Hydra: book decor, broom, stacked skulls, witchy decor, HP monster book of monsters, potions, laundry hamper, barrels and pumpkin decor

Pierisim: All wallpapers and flooring, fireplace, candles, rug, bathroom mirror, towel rack. The sets that were used: Domaine Du Close, Oak House, Winter Garden, and MCM.

Felixandre & Harrie: utensil pot, oil & vinegar bottles, other bottle decor. I believe all of the items used were from the KICHEN set, but the Orjanics collection (and all of their collections) are totally worth checking out!

Mechtasims: paper towel holder, books, toilet. There are so many items from mechtasims that I use in my everyday builds this build really didn't showcase this creators talent. I strongley reccomend that you take a look at their patreon!! The sets that I used for this build were the essential clutter set, ghibli set, and bathroom set.

Myshunosun: bottles, cutting boards (the famous ones that i feel like every cc sims builder uses in every kitchen ever) mushroom basket, floral decor. This creator, like Mechtasims really didnt get to shine in this build as loudly as they usually do in my regualr build xD You have to check them out!

Pyszny: counters/bathroom sink, hanging pot rack

Syboulette: desk, crystal ball, laundry drying rack. This creator has an Oh My Goth set, which is where the desk came from and it has a lot of matching items that I was uable to include in this build. I was looking through their patreon while making this post and found a LOT of adorable new stuff, will definitely be going on a little cc shopping spree when I'm done xD!

Leosims: skull, geode, potion bottles. Now, most of this creators items ARE behind a paywall, every once in a while they release a free set and I always snatch them up because this creator is TALENTED. The link will take you to this specific set download, but I do reccomend checking out their page for any other freebies, or even becoming a patreon!

Soloriya: witchy bottles/ items. All items used in thei build are from the Sabrina Collection!

Channel4sims: beaded curtain

Littledica: thermostat

MadameRia: kitchen shelves. I almost just linked the item but I really think that their patreon page is worth checking out!

For a hoarder like me, that means a whole lot of backtracking when you advance to the next area. Instead, you can drop items on the ground and pick them up again later. You have two inventories with only six or eight (I don’t remember) slots each, and no item boxes. I play the RE games like a hoarder, every single item goes in the chest. However, the reason I can’t recommend this game is almost entirely due to the way you’re supposed to handle items. I thought both of those were great uses of the partner switching and more than justify it. The partner system was pretty good, and made for some amazing puzzles/gameplay at times (getting split up at the beginning and then getting split up in a castle-ish area later). Pretty okay game, but one that I can’t really recommend. Sadly if this happens there is no fix for this and you will lose all of your progress and possibly your save file as well. I’m not sure of the exact cut-off for CC but eventually the folder gets too large for the game to handle and it will lead to issues like save corruption or in some cases not being able to save the game at all because the game has run out of memory. Sure it looks great in screenshots but it wont be practical in game. That cute dress you found on Tumblr that’s 65mb more then likely has way too high of a poly count and will just lag and be slow to render in the game. Clothing is usually fine but pay attention to the size of the CC. You don’t need 20 different variations of the same ponytail in the game.

My suggestion would be to find a default skin you like and just use that. These files are usually rather large sometimes in excess of 80 - 100mb. It may seem crazy to imagine but massive CC shopping sprees can lead to a massive folder to the tune of 30GB+. Keep an eye on the size of your Sims 3 Folder in /Documents. The guide will be pretty extensive and I take no responsibility if you mess up your game :P If anything I hope this guide brings people back to The Sims 3 or allows people to give the game another chance.

I also only have a PC so I don't know if any of these settings will effect the Mac version of the game. I own a legit copy of the Sims 3 and have never owned a pirated version so I can't say whether or not these settings will work with a pirated version of the game. All of these tips have been gathered from all over the internet and also some things I have picked up on my own over the years. I have applied all of these fixes in my own game and I still experience lag so this is by no means a guide to completely eliminate the lag in the game but a guide to perhaps help your game run a little bit smoother. Some things may work well for others while some may not make a difference at all. I made this guide a few years ago for another forum so I’m always open to new suggestions/edits etc. The Sims 3 can be tricky to get running correctly on modern computers so I figured I would share what I learned over the years. Still looking for that “Sims Fix” I found myself going back to playing The Sims 3. Lately I have found the direction of The Sims 4 to be rather lackluster.

Failing, I mean, *learning* how to typeset - 1

Even though I initially applied for CLDR, I have decided to take up typesetting too. There are many things I have learnt in my short time with this hobby, and I wanted to write them down as a sort of progress record.

It's a roller coaster of a learning journey that goes like: excited/motivated to TS->stumble on a painful part->suffer/do a bunch of TS iterations->finally ask for help->get amazing advice.

However, the spark that comes from learning a new technique or solution to problems and applying them to the current issue (and the possibility of future ones) is worth the suffering. It's as if a path that I have never considered suddenly appears and it opens so many possibilities. This feeling and, of course, being able to release the project as best as I can for love of its content.

I'm grateful to my scanlation group, Jujugang!! because they're a bunch of cool, friendly, open members!! They're such a treasure ;-; soo wholesome T_T

Typesetting certainly is a different skill than CLDR, even though both require creativity and a sense of design, I feel like both do it in a different way. CLDR is like the makeup used to mask imperfections, while TS is the makeup used to enhance beauty. I like both of them (or maybe it's because when I get burnout from one, I wanna jump to the other LOL).

What I'm going to write here is from the perspective of a beginner typesetter so probably some of the things may not be suitable to follow. Many times I've found that I said something wrong and then corrected myself entries later OTL

The way I began to learn was from reading a bunch of guides from the Scanlator School discord and also the occasional TS discussions from other students with questions.

Well den with my shaky level of knowledge it was time to apply it to something and its first victim was a JJK doujin (I'm sorry, Jihaku). I translated it from English to Spanish beforehand which has its perks as a TS because when the TL does not fit, I can reword it (and boy was it annoying due to its use of vertical boxes). Another plus of this was that I could look at the English version to base my TS from it.

Since I finished it like a month or two ago, the pain of most of my struggles faded away (unfortunately?) so I may not be able to recall most of what I went through.

One of the most time-consuming tasks was obtaining the right fonts. Fonts are like a palette of colours and there are infinite variations which you may or may not decide to keep as is or modify. Choosing the right fonts for a project is important. If the genre is horror, I would choose fonts that are a bit unstable. If they're romance, I would go for rounder ones (or maybe just don't care and get the fonts that are best suited for mangas, because these dang bo-).

Even though JJK is a shounen series with no romance. I think that using a shoujo font for the djs also works because... they're romance now lolol ofc if the plot of the doujinshi is hurt/comfort or angst, it could change. The art style is also very important to take into consideration! The font choice should match the tone of what the doujinshi wants to convey as well as its art. Ngl using CC Meanwhile is quite tempting...

So there I was, scouting through a bunch of font sheets looking for those that fit an SFX, and this maybe took half the time of my actual typesetting... this is probably normal (I HOPE?!) because as a beginner I have no fonts, but as I work on more TS projects, I guess the time spent will lower.

That is with the exception of when I pick up more and more fonts... it's like going on a shopping spree to fill up a closet. Only that you don't have to pay for most of them (cough). So I went... on a font spree and downloaded waaay too many fonts... which makes the choosing process hard. Like: huh, the SFX "turn" looks better with this font or this other font?

Choice paralysis by being overwhelmed with so many choices and thinking: maybe there is the perfect typeface for this but I haven't found it yet (this is being masochistic, probably best not to think that).

Getting fontbase was great. It's a program that lets me activate/deactivate fonts as I need them (because PS loading up so many fonts will cause it to crash whoo). The free version lets me organize fonts by category but I'm unsure about which ones I should make. For now, it's like this and I don't think it's very helpful LOL it could certainly be better. I'm too lazy to update the NSFW one and add new categories.. for now xd

The paid version lets you add tags to fonts which I find pretty helpful.

There's a way to preview how the text will look like too and nice UX additions.

So what does a font addict do when they have an enabler? Download even mooore fonts. It's fun at first because later on, it becomes a pain to organize;; That said, the result is worth it because if I need a specific type of font for an SFX I can just go to a category, type the word and scroll through the options that have already been sifted through.

Last night I downloaded 117 fonts... it's addicting... but I still haven't finished organizing my previous batch...

It’s just funny to me now, since the whole situation with TJ I’ve been very upset about it. I’ve not let it affect my marriage but it’s upset me a lot, I’ve not let it just affect what Chris and I are going through but Chris is just there trying to find out which I won’t say anything but TJ is literally here more, he hasn’t gone to VA either with his son and that is pissing me off but my family are here for Christmas and that makes me happy, they have really taken that strain off me, the girls have so many people to go too while mommy is just thinking on what to do. I have been going through my accounts, researching things that Chris has paid for too. I mean it’s joint, I know what goes in and out, I don’t check on what he does but I did this time. I met my personal accountant, and we went through it, and he’s like Chris is a spender, he is. I don’t care for that, but I do for what he is on others. Just calculating things, extra activities meaning what the girls do and the fucking school. We are paying over a one hundred thousand, which I don’t care for when it’s my child but it’s now. We are paying for Camron, I am angered. He payed three grand to this academy on top of that, there is money coming out for shopping sprees and there was a random transfer which was under CC, I told my accountant to check that right on the spot. There is like two thousand a month going to it so I am tracking that. I am doing this so tonight I can bring it up, I have the information I need before I go to this and he’s like what you on about. My home is super busy which I honestly love to see just because it makes the festive time even better, you can be with loved ones. The way the grandparents did this place up, my daughters are in love with the decorations, I love to see my kids happy. Stepping outside seeing my kids having the best time of their life, that is what means the most to me “Chris always does the most for them” stood next to Joyce “he does, I just hope that this is the last time he gets hurt. My daughters think it is dress up because I am dressing up for tonight, they are using everything I am. He really thought I was going to take him anywhere else “man, you really annoying for this” he is annoyed now “this is my date, the fuck? I just invited you” sipping my wine laughing “don’t play me, you took me out on a date, now you switching it?” pulling a face at him “I asked if you wanted to go out for food, that was all” I know I asked him out “then can I go home?” he is funny, asking about going home “you wouldn’t leave me here now, looking like this” Chris licked his lips “mhmmm I suppose, but it’s nice to be asked out for a change. I'm a super hardworking and ambitious person (sometimes at the expense of my own mental health and wellness). It's important to me to be able to work towards my goals and be with someone who has goals of their own. I'd get easily frustrated with someone who has no drive because I think it's important for partners to support each other as they work to be the best people they can be. I have a tendency to stress myself out sometimes and often let my stress bottle up. Cleaning/organizing and baking always help me feel centered and reduce my stress when I feel like I'm freaking out a bit. I tend to also be a little bit of a control freak on occasion in everyday life. I think I can also be kind of judgemental on occasion, but I'm definitely working towards not being judgy.

I can be a bit reserved when it comes to meeting new people, but when I'm around my close friends and family, I'm a lot more open, talkative, and silly. I don't always feel the need to force conversation though and can enjoy time around people just by doing our own thing next to each other and relaxing in each other's company. My friends and family are really important to me and I always try to be reliable and there for them whenever they need support.

When it comes to hobbies, I enjoy reading, watching tv/movies, cross stitch, and shopping. I used to be on a dance drill team and have continued doing yoga to keep up my flexibility because it helps me feel healthy. My favorite genres in books, movies, tv shows, etc. are romance and mystery, but I especially love when something has a big plot twist or is really thought provoking so that I can discuss it with someone I know. I also tend to be a romantic and can be a big sucker for romance movies. I'm not really an outdoorsy person though and don't enjoy things like camping and hiking a ton.

Some totally random stuff: I'm scared of fish (there's not a specific reason for it, but they just freak me out), sometimes I bop to country music, someone once told me that before they talked to me they thought I was a stone cold b*tch (rip me)

Mirio of course has goals of his own to help people even if he doesn't have his quirk anymore. Mirio still keep up his exercise too, so when he does that, your doing yoga on the other side of the room. Whenever you two are relaxing, mirio usually cover you two up with a fuzzy blanket when you watch a show together. Mirio will ask you to teach him how to cross stitch because his interested in the stuff you like to do for fun. Mirio will cook/bake for you all the time as a small surprise, however you two even cook/bake with each other sometimes.

For a date mirio will take you on a shopping spree that he pays for (these only happen every once in awhile so he can save up a lot of money for you to spend.) Other dates consist of him cooking your favorite foods and setting up your favorite movie to watch together. Mirio supports you in whatever you do and if you need help, he won't hesitate to help you out. If your reading, mirio will sit you in his lap so you two cc an read the book together. Mirio can tell when your stressed out and will ask you to tell him what's wrong (he doesn't like it when you bottle up your emotions.)

Using Simblreen Gifts After Simblreen (for new Simblreen users & anybody interested in organizing their Mods folder)

Something that I’ve heard a few times now from various users is: “well, I love to go trick-or-treating, it’s so fun, but honestly I don’t know if I want to keep Halloween/fall-specific items in my game year-round, they’re just taking up too much space and will eventually get thrown out”.

And y’know what? That’s totally fair. I feel exactly the same way.

Simblreen items are like our real-life Halloween or Christmas decorations - they’re fun for the actual holiday, but maybe you don’t want to be staring at a jack-o-lantern well into April. Probably because it would have rotted four months before.

So my suggestion is: while you’re downloading your treats, make one specific folder in your Mods folder for ONLY Simblreen items (kind of like a “holiday decorations storage bin”) - they can be just this year’s treats, previous years’ treats, etc, whatever you want it to be - so that you can easily see which items were from the holiday and which items were from a day’s random CC shopping spree. I know that Simblreen has given me new connections to new creators, and I find myself downloading more of their content - which is great! But staying organized will allow me to enjoy my items for a long time afterwards.

Now, so many creators have gone above and beyond for their spooky treats - and some have gone above and beyond to make non-Halloween items, too! These items could be more flexible for day-to-day gameplay, so you could want to put them with all of your other, say, CAS Tops or Facepaints. The separate file helps with that, too! Because you’ve gone to the trouble of staying organized beforehand, once the holiday has come and gone, it will be that much easier to sort through the items that you do want to keep and store the other ones outside of your game.
