ONCE UPON A TIME, THERE WAS A KNIGHT...

the visual inspiration for this was a combination of Frederic William Burton's Meeting on the Turret Stairs and also Bernardo Cavallino's The vision of St. Dominic receiving the Rosary from the Virgin

this was supposed to be just a one off illustration to get the thoughts out of my system, but then I started thinking about medieval politics and warfare and plagues and a castle and home as both a place of refuge, a prison, and a tomb, so perhaps they will end up as ex voto characters as well.

you may say, hey! that rosary looks like it has too many beads! it's a fifteen decade rosary, probably. dominicans are really into marian devotions. it works out.

also. spiral style stair cases. oh boy. it was that unexpectedly more difficult than I originally thought it would be to draw. the more I think about it, the less I understand them, even though I had a million photos of the stairs in front of me while I was drawing it.

Monty Friendship Redemption Arc where he's pretty sure that the DCA is the reason why he ended up in Parts n Service missing an arm and now he's really worried for the human worker that hangs around them too often. Also he might want a rematch

Extra Context for folks who might need a recap on Solar Lunacy stuff or haven't put some of the hint clues together in the writing:

>In chapter 5 of Solar Lunacy, Reader is tasked to go into Monty's room to tune his bass and Monty walks in, and gets angry that they're in his space without permission and snaps at them. >Glitch/Virus acts up, Monty slams Reader against the wall and cuts their cheek. Instantly snaps out of it after realizing. >Freddy and Roxy come to break up the fight, Reader leaves to the Daycare >Reader vents to the DCA about what happened (They already sorta know because the staffbots told them) >Reader clocks out of their shift, avoiding Monty. >After a talk with Chica, Monty heads to the Daycare assuming reader will be there in order to apologize for his actions >[Redacted] >Monty's unconsious body with the missing arm is placed in an elevator shaft to make it look like an accident >Monty remains in Parts n Service for repair, with little to no memory of the events that transpired to put him there >Both from guilt and from suspision, Monty is now concerned for the Reader's invovlement with the DCA because of personal experience, and the reputation they've gotten for a the previous murder of the Daycare Assistant Monty put the puzzle pieces together, basically.
