Information dump about TLM Space Crimes AU.

Rex Dangervest is the only "Rex variant" that had a crew of any sort. No one else had any raptors or anything. Most of them had abandonment issues and refused to work with anyone. It may hurt him to know this, but there's still more Emmett in him than he thinks. The reason he picked up a raptor crew is because Emmett gets enjoyment from being around others. If hes completely alone he goes into a state of depression. And Rex, the last thing him wanting to be is alone, decided to get himself a crew of friends that wouldn't talk back- AKA animals. Just so he wouldn't be alone, but wouldn't have to deal with the burden of having to talk to "new friends."

Rex is also the only one out of all the other variants in which president business lives in their world. When everyone else was the special, they destroyed him.

Regardless of all the other variants having slightly different forms of their friend group, the only one who didn't change at all across all the dimensions is Emmett. In every single one, hes still the same pacifist cinnamon roll; which made it very hard for all the others to believe that Rex was actually a version of Emmett.

Ocean's Curse AU

Rex Daggerfin was a mer warrior, his task was to defend his home and his people, a city of merfolk under the waves.

When humans began encroaching more on their territory; tangling mers and their livestock in nets, stealing food and other resources, disrupting daily life with their loud boats, Rex gets PISSED. It's one thing to defend a farmer's fields from a predator, or defend against territorial disputes with other merfolk. Sharks and merfolk are just doing what they have to do to survive. Humans, however?? Their instinct only seems to be to destroy.

When an oil spill happens that leads to many livestock and mer deaths, Rex decides he's had enough.

He finds an incantation to make him powerful enough to finish things at the source: he's going to attack the human sea village and FORCE them to leave. The incantation warns that there is a high price to pay, but Rex is so deep in his hatred of humans that he doesn't care.

He performs the incantation... and turns into a massive sea dragon. He destroys some boats and docks, eats a human or two, and in general causes mass terror.

He's expecting to be treated like a hero when he returns... But he can't turn back into his original form. And everyone is horrified at what he'd become. Both physically, and through what he had done.

He's banished and chased off by the merfolk he was trying to protect.

Rex finds a new home in deep waters, far from merfolk and humans both, and there he stays.

On a full moon, when the magical light is strongest, he turns back into his merman form, but it's just while the moon is high. The rest of the time he's stuck as the dragon his hatred turned him into.

Gradually, the spell begins to weaken. His massive size starts to diminish. He can't swim as fast, and he can't smash the giant metal boats that he once could tear apart with ease. He hopes that this means someday be can go home... But still, his full moon transformation is only temporary.

Emmet Finnegan is a young merman who isn't the most popular. He's not exceptionally fast or strong or clever. He's just... Average, in nearly all respects. But he's happy...! Really, he is!

When his pet fish Sunny the Sunfish is caught in a fishing net, Emmet does all he can to save her... Even if that means jumping up onto the human boat and pulling her free from the deck. He manages to free her, and jumps into the water after her... Just to be rewarded with a harpoon to the stomach.

Just in time, a large scaly shape suddenly explodes from the water below the ship, snapping the line of the harpoon and disappearing with what would have been a valuable catch for the fishermen.

Rex patches the semi-conscious merman up, expecting Emmet to run away the moment he's conscious.

He doesn't. And of course, he quickly shatters the hard casing Rex had put around his heart 🥺

Rex falls for him quickly, and Emmet isn't scared of him at all, happy to shower the giant dragon with love.

There's one thing that partially stands between them... Rex makes Emmet promise not to follow him on full moons. He's terrified that if Emmet sees him the way he was, he'll stop loving him the way he is and will forever wish Rex was mer again.

Emmet promises not to, and he never breaks that promise. Though Emmet does worry that it's something bad...

SOMEONE sees Rex on a full moon though. A young marine biologist/sociologist who's trying to seek out the merfolk to facilitate understanding and cooperation between merfolk and humans happens to catch sight of him while getting a sample of the strange glowing water.

Lucy Rose makes up her mind then and there which merman she wants to meet and befriend, with no idea she's not finding him anytime soon 🤣

But she does meet a friendly clownfish mer hanging around the area after befriending his friendly pet sunfish! And the merman is happy to introduce her to his giant dragon companion!

Need I say more? The three get along very well.

Some people were doing this on FB with their ships so I wanted to do this with the MBCC!AU + RexMet.

Very basic context of the AU if you don't know: Rex is basically there since the first movie and helps Lucy.

It is canon that Rex got attached really quickly/ was the first one to fall for to Emmet in the AU too, in this scene they are supposed to be escaping with Batman and Lucy, Emmet robbed some gloves cause he saw that Rex's ones were messed up after the follow up, so he wanted to make up for it.

And yeah this is based of that one Craig of The Creek scene.

According to an early draft of the 1st Lego movie, Emmet's (and by extension, Rex's) birthday is January 6th, which is today!

Honestly, I cannot decide if this should be Markiplier TV {Darkiplier, Wilford, Alice,, Ruthanne and Actor! Mark singing}

or The Lego Movie 2 {Future Lucy, Rex Dangervest, Benny, General Sweet Mayhem, Finn, and Bianca singing}

I see it as Markiplier TV but The Lego Movie 2 makes it more angst ;)

So uhm---- the concept of Emmet being the king of the Systar was a thing back then-

So some friends and I saw the concept of Emmet being the King of the Systar, but we decided to make our very own version based on that concept! So these are some designs.

Rex's outfit is heavily based of one of his beta designs clothing, Emmet is inspired of a "Caramel King", and Lucy is supposed to be like Sweet Mayhem since both of them are soldiers.

To clarify: All Universes are at peace yet there's conflicts, Apocalipsystar was rebuilded early since Emmet agreed to teach the Duplos and other species how to construct, Lucy got along with him to protect him, and so they took care of Watevra so she could be a great queen. Emmet is a peaceful ruler.

Rex's existence is caused because in the future timeline, Emmet pretty much fucked up himself and everyone mentally and physically due wars and stuff, Lucy died, and Watevra and his old friends decided to exile him, sending him under the Dry-ar, stopping the war. Rex believes Watevra was planning this from the start, so after changing himself and everything, and earning his own system not so far of Systar, he goes back in time to change everything, being a close friend to both Lucy and Emmet, wanting to protect them from Watevra.

And yeah also RexMetStyle is canon here they got married.
