Colton is easygoing and laidback, a true California kid, yet is intensely competitive. Participant (rumored to be the mastermind) in several of the infamous Indy 500 bus lot pranks in recent years, he somehow eludes any true blame falling upon him. He’s well-liked within the paddock, most recently sort of adopted by the Bus Bros and nicknamed “Swolton.” He is also close friends with Alex Rossi, often staying with his former teammate when he needs to be in Indy. He doesn’t make a lot of waves off-track, one of the quietest drivers on social media, but makes up for it on-track with fantastic saves and crashes in equal measure. Just 23 years old in 2023 has 7 wins, 11 podiums and 9 poles in his young life.

F1 discussions.
In late summer 2022, it was announced that F1 team AlphaTauri had an interest in Colton for the 2024 F1 season. Colton, already signed to McLaren F1 as a test driver in addition to his Andretti contract in Indycar, was not eligible for a Super License, a requirement to drive in F1, but this could be addressed with an exception by the FIA. At one point it was announced that this was a done deal but it was not and Red Bull (AlphaTauri’s parent team) soon abandoned all efforts to acquire Colton as a driver.
The Super License system is a convoluted thing that I will not explain here other than to say that Indycar is vastly underrated in points assigned and if not for this discrepancy, Colton would have had more than enough points. But as it is, Colton had 32 points out of a needed 40. Other drivers in similar situations have raced in various lower tier FIA sanctioned series to make up the points and Colton was willing to do this over the winter of 2022-23 but this was also not allowed by the FIA.
But seeing Colton in F1 is still a possibility, should he do well enough in Indycar to earn the points needed and should Michael Andretti eventually succeed in buying an existing F1 team or convincing F1 to allow him to enter a new team. After the end of the 2022 Indycar season, Colton signed a multi-year contract extension with Andretti that includes the ability to switch to an Andretti owned F1 team.

How to plan a lesson
it is very important to know How to plan a lesson.
Sometimes there are so many lessons and topics that you think the hours of the day and night are not enough to do them. This usually happens when you didn't have a daily lesson plan and spent a lot of time on unnecessary things.
If you have a clear vision of your future plans and allocate the appropriate time to each of them, you will distance yourself from this hasty notion.
Tumblr media
Pay attention to the following questions: "How to have a good lesson plan?"
"How to write a curriculum?"
"How to plan lessons"
In order to understand the answers to these questions and to prevent your confusion while studying, the steps required to have an excellent lesson plan are mentioned in the rest of the article, which will relieve you of any worries related to studying. These steps are:
First step: List your daily tasks
First, you need to make a list of all the things you are going to do. You can use techniques like GTD that we explained in the rest of this article to systematically record all the tasks you need. If you have problems with writing, mobile software is a very good suggestion

First published in 2001, it has become an influential text for professionals, each chapter unfurling the secrets of living a life of balance between productivity and sereness. ‘GTD’ has now become shorthand for approaching professional and personal projects, tasks and commitments so that the outcome is maximized and stress is minimized in the pursuit of it all. Allen has given impressive professional growth principles rooted in big ideas that are practically viable.
The Effective Executive: The Definitive Guide to Getting the Right Things Done by Peter F. Drucker No matter where you stand in the professional hierarchy of your organisation, this book is a valuable tool for all working professionals, or ‘knowledge workers’ as Peter Drucker calls them. The book is centered around the notion that effectiveness is not a trait inherent in us but must be learned and polished in the pursuing our endeavors. Cal Newport addresses this issue in his book, focusing on creating a healthy environment in which more time is spent on ‘Deep work’ (a productive state of flow without succumbing to distractions).
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey One of the most empowering books ever written, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is an essential read for anyone seeking meaningful professional growth. In his step-by-step guide, Covey presents a framework of seven habits that enhance effectiveness, in addition to fostering career and personal development.
Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell Why do some people achieve success while some can’t get out of a life of mediocrity? Malcolm Gladwell answers this question in his book, by narrating the success stories of successful people from various fields- music, sports, technology etc. The book explores the factors contributing to success- not just personal factors like talent or efforts, but also external factors like culture, environment and opportunities.
Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson It is a simple yet empowering allegorical narrative that unveils profound truths through the eyes of four characters living in a ‘maze’. There is a hardworking duo of mice, Sniff and Scurry, along with two ‘Littlepeople’ Hem and Haw who look and act like people but are the size of mice. They embark on a journey to look for ‘Cheese’ – a metaphor for all that we yearn for in life, whether its career-related or related to some other aspect of life.

Odds & Ends: June 9, 2023
“I Love Being a Dad” by Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. Rapper Can’t Stop Wont Stop (aka David Eff) wrote a song for his kids about how much he loves being a dad. It’s super catchy and incredibly wholesome. It’s been getting a lot of playtime in the McKay household this week. He even turned the song into a charming kid’s book. Be sure to check out his video series called “Rap Dad,” wherein he raps famous kids’ books like Brown Bear, Brown Bear and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. For more dad songs, check out our list of the 10 Best Songs About Dads. Huckberry Father’s Day Store. Speaking of dads, Father’s Day is June 18. If you’re looking for gift ideas for dear old dad, check out Huckberry’s Father’s Day store. A few items that stuck out to me: Klhip Ultimate Clipper (I got my dad these one year; he loves them), Insulated Summit Slipper, and the Bellroy Hide and Seek Wallet (see my full review of this wallet — which is part of my personal EDC — here). Decoding Overload by Cal Newport. 4x AoM podcast guest and productivity expert Cal Newport has his own podcast called Deep Questions. In a recent episode, he explored what causes the feeling of overload at work and with life. His answer is that every task has two parts: 1) the actual execution of the task, and 2) the overhead that makes the execution of the task possible. For Newport, overhead consists of the back-and-forth emails, the meetings, and the scheduling that goes into making something happen. Overhead is where overload comes from. Cal’s next book will be digging into this more (I’m looking forward to it!), but this episode gives a good primer on the topic. “Festina Lente: A Roman Emperor’s Guide to Getting Stuff Done” by Kevin Dickinson. Move over GTD; there’s a new productivity philosophy in town. Well, not actually new. It’s over 2000 years old. Festina lente is Latin for “make haste slowly,” and it was used by Caesar Augustus to accomplish a whole heck of a lot in his lifetime. This article explores the history of festina lente and offers suggestions on how you can implement it in your own life. Quote of the Week The most important single influence in the life of a person is another person. We may say to our children: Here is art, science, philosophy, mathematics, music, psychology, history, religion—and we may open innumerable doors along the corridors of living so that they will have a broad and even a minute acquaintance with the segments of life; but these introductions are not as important as knowing people whose characters and actions, personalities and words have grown after similar introductions and have become worthy of emulation. —Paul D. Clear your Inbox (The Easy Way)
In was early in the year 2002.  Sometime after New year’s resolutions and all that.
I sat in my office surrounded by stacks of books and papers and sermons and mail. I felt like a hoarder. But I didn’t want to be a hoarder. I had an email inbox that looked pretty much like my office, except inside the matrix.
It was a terrible day of overwhelm and feeling like a failure for not having the ability to keep up with stuff.
If I had a do-over for that day, I would be much more gracious to myself. We were entering into new territory regarding information.  The digital age was fully upon us. We didn’t have the tools to deal with the deluge. We didn’t have the systems to harness the pixels.
I just sat there feeling bad about myself and about my lack of ability to deal with the aftermath of the World Wide Web.
Thankfully my good friend, Joel, was dealing with the same issues as me in those days. He was an entrepreneurial knowledge worker, before said jobs were quite as ubiquitous. I can’t remember which of us heard about David Allan first, but we read Getting Things Done together. It was one of the most game-changing books I ever read. (I’m pretty sure Joel found it as helpful as I did.)
 What David Allan Taught Me
I sat in my office, cracked open the GTD book and implemented as I read. It took me about a week. But when that week was over, I had (more or less) wrangled everything. My inbox was clear. My office was clean. I had to-dos and projects organized in lists. It was the first time I felt in control in years. It was fantastic.
Don’t be deceived. This isn’t a “happily ever after” story. I’ve most definitely fallen off the productivity wagon lots of times since then.  But here the things that stick with me 21 years after reading David Allan for the first time:
1.    You gotta have a system: Without a system for “stuff” — “stuff” takes over everything. Especially when your “stuff” is digital.
2.    The system must be one that your brain trusts: If your brain doesn’t really believe it will find the impotent stuff, the stuff that really matters, you will go back to keeping everything on the best or in your inbox, so you don’t lose it.
3.    Think in terms of action: The key questions is always “What do I do with this?”  This eliminates your options. (More on the practicalities below.)
This is way a lot of people keep thousands of emails in their inbox, and that it would be inconceivable to clear that stuff out. The ever elusive “Inbox 0” is a pipe dream.
I get my inbox to zero at least three times per week, most of the time every day.
I don’t lose emails, and if you email me, it will get answered and will not get lost.
Here’s my system that I trust:
First a few general email principles:
Use Email for What It’s Good At. Don’t Use Email for What It’s Bad At.
Email is great at:
●      Non-urgent communication across time zones
●      Non-urgent communication to teams
●      Document sharing
Email is a bad at (I would say VERY bad at):
●      To do lists
●      Scheduling
●      Hard conversations
Process Email During Specified Blocks of Time
For me, it’s mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and before quitting time. There’s no “right time” however. Depending on your context, you may need to process more frequently — or even less frequently.
Have Separate Email Addresses for Work Roles/Personal
This has to do with the cost of context shifting. Most people just have personal and work email. I have an email address for two different work roles, personal, and my website. The key is to separate, so when you due process email, you can focus on one area at a time. Context shifting between various roles at work and your personal life takes a toll. It will make you tired.
Get to Inbox Zero Regularly (At Least Once Per Week)
This will assure your brain that there are no snakes in the grass, lying in wait to bite you.
Finally, the good stuff. Here is my system for inbox zero.
Open a single inbox.
Open a single email (I usually start at the top. But you can start at the bottom.)
 Ask this question:
Is there any action I need to take with this?
The answer to this question for most email is, “No”.
Then your next action is quite simple.
Delete it.
Or you can archive it if you’re not comfortable with deleting things. The point is to get it out of your inbox.
Great, there’s a sale at Best Buy. But I’m not buying crap at Best Buy this week.  Eliminate that bad boy from your life.
Is there an action I need to take that will take two minutes or less?
Do it.
Now.
The two-minute rule is a principle I learned from David Allen that I still employ today. Can I get this done in two minutes or less? A quick reply. A quick read. Two minutes. It’s done. You’re done. The email is gone.
Is there an action that will take longer than two minutes?
Get that on a list.
I use Asana for my task lists. I break down my tasks into these categories:
Brainstorms (Ideas that need clarity/projects that need to be broken down into steps and tasks)
Bullies and Bulldozers (tasks that need prolonged focus or Deep Work)
Busywork (generally administrative tasks)
Some people also have a “waiting for” list when you need a reply from someone. I tend to snooze the emails I want to follow up with. If I need a conversation with someone, I don’t send an email, except to maybe schedule an appointment using Calendly. This eliminates 752 back and forth emails.
Almost every email that needs a more than 2-minute action will go on this list.  Get it on your list and archive the email.
Is there an action I want to take on this at a specific time?
Simple solution here. Pick a day and put it on a calendar. Archive
Is this something I don’t want to decide on right now?
If so, I snooze it. My email app is called Airmail for Mac. It has a beautiful snooze feature. Gmail has a snooze feature as well. Use this. It will make your life so much better.
Is this information I would like to read later?
I use a tool called SaneBox, and create a folder called Saturday morning. This puts the email (usually a newsletter I’m interested in) into a folder, and it magically reappears on Saturday, when I have the luxury of reading such things.
I will also forward such things to my Instapaper account to read later as well.
This is the basic plan I follow, and the tools I use. My inbox is cleared out most days. If there’s an ongoing, current project, I will occasionally leave a couple of emails in my inbox for a few days. But part of my Friday ritual is to decide on everything and get to the pretty little Inbox Zero icon.
 You can do this.
You need a system that your brain trusts. My brain trusts my system. And I rarely miss anything.
If this topic interests you, there are a couple of things you might be interested in.
1.    I am doing a webinar for Global Trellis on Tuesday, at 9:00 AM EST this week. This webinar is designed for cross cultural workers. But I will be going through the information above and showing you exactly how I use these tools to keep my email cleared out with relative ease. Sign up here, if you’re interested in joining.
2.    Growability® Coaching includes robust tools and training for time management, if that’s something you feel like you need help with.  Set up a quick call with me if you want to up your leadership (and time-management!) game with some coaching.
3.    Also – SaneBox is an email tool I can’t function without. If you want an extra $5 bucks off, use my promo code here and check it out.

focus mainly on Supes // Since you plan to mention it in a podcast, the future of S&L might be in limbo. DC has recently been going on a canceling spree, all but 5 TV series have been canceled & their future is unclear (only 2 renewed so far are on Netflix). Rumors are that the new management wants to reboot everything and start fresh. So yes, S&L is currently filming season 3 but nobody knows if there'll be a season 4. Which then brings us to the age old question: what does Hoechlin want to do?
So S&L is and isn't part of the DCCW brand. I think they lowkey gtd 5 seasons off the bat. It's Superman so they're not just going to tank it. We'll see but they've always been the outliers.

#GOODTASK ANDROID PROFESSIONAL#
#GOODTASK ANDROID SERIES#
#GOODTASK ANDROID FREE#
Oftentimes, the human mind acts like a big hoarder of ideas, no matter how trivial they are. Transfer all these tasks to an external system which can be a task management tool, a simple to-do list app, or even a paper.
#GOODTASK ANDROID PROFESSIONAL#
This can be anything ranging from professional pending emails, phone calls, and appointments, to simply cleaning your wardrobe. The first step of implementing the GTD method is to collect what’s stuck in your mind. Clearing your mind of all the clutter and properly organizing your tasks is one way of effectively dealing with things. If there’s something you need to do that’s stuck in your mind, you have to get it out, to get it done. The GTD approach is implemented through a sequence of steps that essentially makes up the 5 pillars of this method, which facilitate operations processes: Capture Pro Tip: nTask is braced with GTD specific features, such as the ability to set up reminders, meeting alerts, automated pop-ups whenever Project Managers send new work down the pipes, and much more! Top it off with timesheets to maximize accountability and productivity altogether, and you have a team that’s productive at various forefronts! GTD Method Implementation: Let’s dive in to discover the basic pillars of the GTD method and how it can be implemented.
#GOODTASK ANDROID FREE#
The correct implementation of the method can free up some of the brainpower and thus, increases the overall productivity of an individual or a team. GTD is not merely getting-things-done, but a step-by-step way of accomplishing tasks through the basic concept of transferring ideas from your mind into an external system, breaking them down into actionable steps, and then finally, getting them done.īy following the GTD method, your brain will not have to remember and keep track of every other thing (which is humanly impossible anyway) and will facilitate delivering results. Oftentimes, you may have a plethora of tasks in front of you which need to be taken care of, or you may experience a sudden outburst of inspiration to pull off an idea.Īs David Allen says, ‘Your mind is for having ideas, not storing them’, therefore GTD comes to your rescue to pull these ideas out of your brain and convert them into actions.
#GOODTASK ANDROID SERIES#
GTD or Getting Things Done is a popular time management method and the title of a best-selling book by author and productivity consultant David Allen.Īfter years of research and practice, David Allen came up with this technique of getting all your to-dos done by following a systematic series of steps. Let me introduce you to the GTD method to deliver results. Or, maybe we need to manage our tasks better? Definitely the latter!īut, how exactly? A question many of you might ask. Do you ever feel overburdened by the weight of all the things you have to get done during the day or during the week?īelieve it when we say this: each one of us thinks, at least once a day, that maybe 24 hours of the day weren’t put in place for us to do this much work.

Outlines of articles, essays, or other writing I might be doing (fiction and non-fiction).Ĥ. Examples would be reading notes on a book about sociology or an article about philosopy. Take targeted notes on works I am currently reading or content I am creating. General collection of personal knowledge: the things I know and want to mine for insights.ģ. Currently using Todoist and I like it, but part of developing my tech skills beyond novice is moving to open-source and FOSS environments.Ģ. Capture items, organize into projects with sub-tasks, create to-do list of next items. Basically a digital inbox for the style of the GTD system I’d like to implement.

LazerGonzo is wondering: are there a recommendations of how to implement for the following:ġ. Thanks Aeonik and danzu for this discussion. He showcases his learning and managing projects, as well as a Newsletter about his undertakings.Ī very interesting thread on how best to structure meeting notes, Looks at doing it on the meeting page or the daily notes page, and how best to structure the notes to ensure you can capture, and retrieve, all the information required. Mike Jones did ask an interesting question which I am sure if on a lot of peoples mind “ If we donate can we get into the closed beta? [GTD masterlist]
Tumblr media
You stand at the entrance waiting for Dieter to show. He’s late to the set once again and none of you can start without him.
After ten minutes, he finally pulled into the lot and took his time getting out of the car. He stretched and groaned loudly as he made his way over to you, giving you a glance at his stomach. You couldn’t help the way your eyes shifted downward.
“Caught you looking,” he teased, putting his arm around your shoulder. He smelled of coffee and weed—the breakfast of champions, you always teased.
You calmly removed his arm from your shoulders and walked inside, not even bothering to hold the door for him.
“Why is it so damn bright in here?” he asked. You turned and snatched his sunglasses off. “Hey!”
“You look horrible,” you scoffed and shook your head.
He looked down at his thrown together, ‘I don’t give a fuck’ outfit then smiled back up at you. “You could always help me change.”
“I don’t think anyone can change you, Dieter,” you quipped before walking again.
“Ah ha, so you like me just the way I am.” He spread his arms out and you rolled your eyes, making him laugh. He loved his women a little feisty.
“His Royal Highness is on set!” you yelled so everyone could hear. There was a sparse applause but mostly just people rushing around trying to get him to hair and makeup then wardrobe.
“His Royal Highness. I could get used to that,” he simpered.
“Don’t get used to it…please.” You followed the crowd of people trying to style his hair as he walked.
“She loves me,” he told one of the hairdressers.
“Dieter…” You tried your best to hide the smile creeping up on your face. The truth was it was hard not to like him. As annoying and somewhat arrogant he could be, he was funny and good-looking. But you never ever messed around with any actors you worked with. It was out of the question. Besides, you were sure he was not a one woman man. He couldn’t possibly be—not with the way he flirted.
You hadn’t known but he was wild about you and you alone. He acted the way he did as a defense.
“Is that a smile?” he asked as they finally got him in a chair for hair and makeup. He looked at your reflection and you fixed your face into a more stoic look.
“If it was, it wasn’t for you,” you snapped.
“Gimme a little smile. C’mon.” He turned away from the mirror to look at you and the makeup artist rolled her eyes.
“If I do will you sit still?” you asked and he nodded. You gave him a sincere smile and he winked.
“Good girl. See? Was that so hard?”
You nearly gasped audibly at hearing him call you a good girl.
“You know, we should hang out sometime,” he said, looking at your reflection again.
“Uh…I have to go set up.” You panicked and jogged away to pretend you had something to do. In reality, your job was basically taking care of Dieter once he got on set. The official title on your ID badge said Film Assistant when it really should say Dieter Wrangler. You were more like his assistant than anything else.
“Where’s Bravo?” the director asked you.
“Hair and makeup. Straight to wardrobe after,” you told him.
“Are you sure make it to the soundstage on his own?” he asked.
“If it takes more than twenty minutes I’ll go fetch him from his dressing room,” you said. The director nodded and walked away.
Tumblr media
Of course, it took him more than twenty minutes so here you were at the door of his dressing room. You knocked twice.
“I’m coming in, Dieter.” You pushed the door open to find him lying on the floor staring at the ceiling. “What the fuck, dude?”
“Do you see that?” he asked, pointing at the ceiling. You really looked then sucked your teeth and walked over to him.
“Are you seriously tripping right now?” You bent and grabbed his arm. “Get up now.” You pulled on him but he was all deadweight. His arm plopped back down to his side as he giggled at nothing. “Dieter!” You stepped over him so that one leg was on the right side of his body and the other was on the left.
“You’re glowing,” he said.
“Shut up!” You grabbed both of his arms and pulled. This time, he sat up but when he did his face was level with your crotch.
“Oh ho ho,” he giggled. “All you had to do was ask.”
“Please…just…shut the fuck up and stand up.” You helped him to his feet and now he stood too close to you. Your face was level with his neck but you looked up into his eyes.
“God, you’re fucking hot,” he said. “We should have sex. Right now.”
“You have a scene to do. Why in the world would you take something now?!”
He wrapped his arms around you and you yelped. “I like to feel good, don’t you?”
You hit him in the stomach and he grunted. You moved away and opened the door. “Let’s go.”
He walked behind you, looking at his hands and laughing. The director stormed up to you and you closed your eyes, not ready to tell him what was wrong.
“Is he high?” he asked.
“Um…yeah?” You shrugged and the director laughed bitterly.
“How does anyone work with this man?” He stormed off and you turned to Dieter.
“You’re ruining your own life, you know that?”
“I kinda like when you’re angry at me,” he said and you groaned.
“I need you to take this seriously. Go. Sober up and get yourself together. You’re gonna get me fired.” You shook your head and walked away from him.
Tumblr media
About an hour later, he had sobered up enough to film the scenes the director needed. You were nowhere to be found when he finished and that was on purpose. Dieter was so frustrating sometimes and he didn’t seem to take things seriously. You didn’t mind the jokes but there was a time and place. He seemed to live his life as one big joke and, the truth was, you worried for him. You would never tell him though.
Your ears perked up at the sound of his voice coming down the hall. You stayed in the bathroom until you thought he passed.
Then there was a knock on the door.
“I know you’re mad at me, beautiful,” Dieter called through the door. How the hell…
You looked at the door and blinked. Nope. You weren’t going to respond.
“All I wanna know is if you forgive me.” Even through the door he had the loveliest voice. “If you don’t come out here, I’m coming in there. No pun or double entendre intended.” Of course he had to add that, making you roll your eyes.
“Go away, Dieter!” you finally yelled. The door creaked open just a crack.
“C’mon, beautiful, I’m sorry. I get nervous before I get on camera, okay? I need to do something to calm myself down…”
You walked over and swung the door open and he almost toppled over. “Smoke some weed or something. Don’t go on a complete trip. It sc- It upsets me,” you corrected yourself quickly.
He pouted and gave you his best puppy dog eyes. “I’m sorry, okay? Hug?”
“Hands stay above the waist,” you warned.
“I’ll be a gentleman. Promise.”
You hugged him and he rubbed your back. He loved how soft you felt and how perfectly you fit in his arms. Were you turning him into some kind of romantic?
“Wanna hang out?” he asked as he did every single night on this shoot.
“Dieter, I told you that it’s too risky. I never ‘hang out’ with any of the actors I work with.” You walked outside with him.
“I just wanna smoke a little with you. I have a feeling you’re a lot of fun when you’re high,” he said.
“Am I not fun sober?” you asked, feigning offense.
“That’s not what I meant. You’re plenty of fun.” He looked at you over the rim of his shades. You snatched them off his face and put them on then did a bad impression of him.
“Hey. I’m Dieter Bravo and I am the coolest guy you’ll ever know,” you teased. He lunged at you for his sunglasses and you ducked out of the way.
“I do not talk like that,” he laughed.
“That’s what you think…”
Suddenly he was chasing you through the parking lot. You screamed and ran away, feeling like you were a kid in school again playing tag with your friends. He eventually caught up to you, wrapping his arms around you from behind then turning you to face him. He plucked his glasses from your face and smiled down at you. He was very, very close.
“See? I knew you were fun.” Even out of breath his voice did something to you.
“And I’m not even high,” you joked.
“Please. Let’s chill. Do I have to get on my knees and beg?” he offered.
“It would be pretty amazing to see the great Dieter Bravo at my feet but no…my answer is still the same.”
He made a face and put his sunglasses back on. “You’re playing hard to get but that doesn’t mean I won’t get you at some point.”
“We’ll see about that,” you challenged.
He backed away, walking towards his car, still looking at you. You were about to get into your car when you heard him shout.
“Good thing I like a challenge!” He got into his car and rolled down the window to wave playfully. You gave him the finger as you drove off and you could hear his laugh. “Love you too, beautiful!” he shouted.
Tumblr media
The next day, Dieter was sure to be on time. He was even there before you. You pulled into your spot then got out the car. Dieter waited for you with open arms.
“You’re late this time,” he said.
“Actually, I’m on time. You just happen to be here before me,” you told him.
“You’ll never let me win, huh?” He held the door open for you and you walked inside.
“Where’s the fun in that?” You walked beside him and he nudged you playfully.
“You look happy today,” he pointed out.
“Because you’re not giving me an anxiety attack. You look really good today,” you confessed.
“Are you calling me handsome?” he asked, surprised.
“Dieter, I’m sure you know you’re a good looking man. You don’t need me to tell you that.”
“I like hearing you say it,” he admitted. What he truly meant was that it only mattered when it came from you.
“Wow, I feel special,” you joked but it really did mean a lot to you.
As soon as you walked on set the director shouted for you and Dieter went the other way to get into character.
“Do you have a passport?” he asked.
“Uh…yeah. Why?”
“The movie is going to Spain,” he said plainly.
“Wait…what?!” you said a little too loudly.
“We’re going to Spain,” he repeated then walked away.
Spain? For how long? What should you pack? When were you leaving?
Dieter ran up to you excitedly and tickled your sides from behind. “Did you hear?”
“Spain?” you asked.
“Spain!” It was adorable how excited he was. “We’ll be there for a few months.”
“Months?” You pouted.
“What’s that face for? We’re going to fucking Spain.”
“I just wasn’t expecting it. That’s all.” You thought about everything you had to do before you left. “Do you know when we leave?”
“Friday,” he said. “Please tell me you’re packing the sexiest bathing suit you have.”
“Shut up,” you laughed. “I have to actually pack clothes too.”
“Yes, and a bathing suit counts as clothes, right?” He leaned in and you squeezed his cheeks. “I could always help you pack.”
“Oh yes and have my luggage full of nothing but lingerie and bathing suits. No thanks.”
“You have lingerie?” he asked, eyes wide.
“Yes, but you’ll never see it.”
“Are you wearing some now?” His voice got a little lower.
“That’s none of your business.” You walked away, looking at him over your shoulder.
Tumblr media
It took you longer than expected to pack but by Friday morning, you were ready to go and actually extremely excited.
You told Dieter you would pick him up so you both wouldn’t have to worry about parking cars at the airport.
You honked your horn outside his house and he walked out looking like he just woke up—a green robe, striped pants, and a wrinkled shirt. That outfit was topped off with a pair of Crocs.
He threw his bags in your trunk, struggling a few times. When he finally got in the car, he smiled at you.
“Morning, beautiful.” He tapped his cheek. “Do I get a little morning kiss?”
“No, I’m driving.”
“Fine. Can I kiss you?” he asked and you sighed.
“Keep it on the cheek,” you warned. He leaned in close and kissed your cheek.
“I ever tell you that you have the softest skin?” He stroked your cheek and it made you tremble. You prayed it wasn’t too obvious.
“Yes, about a hundred times but thank you…again.”
“Oh! Did you hear that we’re staying in a mansion?” he asked.
“What? Are you serious? How the hell did they pull that off?”
“No idea but it will be nice living in the lap of luxury.” He lit a joint and put a foot up on your dashboard.
“Dieter, you’re an Oscar winning actor, you already know what the lap of luxury feels like. You’re house is amazing. Filthy, but amazing.”
“And there’s always room for you, beautiful. I get lonely in that big house by myself,” he complained.
“Then move into a smaller house,” you suggested.
“No thanks.” He sat back. “Want a hit?” He held the joint out to you.
“Not while I’m driving.” You tapped on the steering wheel then remembered something. “Oh, I almost forgot, I got something for you.”
“You did?” he asked, immediately sitting up straight.
“Look in the glove box.”
He opened it then gasped, grabbing the item, and holding it against his chest. “Kit Kats!”
“Yup but I’ll take them if you don’t behave,” you said as you turned into the airport parking lot. “Alright, let’s do this.”
Tumblr media
Dieter happily munched on his Kit Kats as you both made your way down your gate. The company was kind enough to get you a first class seat along with Dieter but you had a sneaking suspicion that he might have had something to do with it.
“Want the window seat?” he asked and you nodded. “Get in there.”
You giggle happily and hopped into the seat, already staring out of the window as Dieter settled down beside you.
“I’m gonna need whiskey and lots of it,” he said quietly. “I fucking hate flying.”
“You do?” He nodded and you rubbed his arm. “Well, you can hold my hand if you need to.”
“I hope you’re not just teasing me because I will seriously grab your hand when we take off.”
“Here.” You offered your hand and he took it. “I wasn’t teasing.” You smiled at him then looked out the window. “Here we go.”
“I need that drink now.” He waved his hand at one of the attendants.
“They usually don’t serve anything until we’re in the sky,” you told him.
“What?”
“You know that. You’ve been on hundreds of flights.”
“I know but being nervous…it fucks with my brainwaves and stuff.” He gestured to his head.
“Want something to help you sleep?” You started digging around your carry-on.
“You have something? I ever tell you how brilliant you are,” he said, bringing your hand to his lips to kiss it.
“Two of these are all you need. And you take them with water. I don’t need you dying mid-flight.”
“Yes, ma’am. You wouldn’t happen to have any weed in there, would you?” he asked and you looked at him in disbelief.
“That makes no sense, Dieter. I wouldn’t have made it onto the plane if I did. Besides, it’s not like you can smoke it on here.”
“Sorry. Nervous. Not thinking straight.” He sat back and closed his eyes as the plane began to taxi to the runway. You thought he might tear through the armrest when the plane took off. He squeezed your hand a little tighter, but not enough to hurt you.
The flight attendant walked over as soon as the plane leveled off. “Hi, yes, can we have some water, please?”
“Of course.” She walked off then returned with two small bottles of water.
“Thanks. Here Dieter, take them now and sleep.”
He took them quickly then made the mistake of looking out the window. “Fuck,” he whispered. “Don’t let my hand go until I fall asleep, okay?”
“Okay.”
Tumblr media
You looked over at Dieter sleeping peacefully and tried to let go of his hand but he held onto it, mumbling something before resting his head on your shoulder. There was something sweet about this, but you tried not to think too much of it.
You and Dieter had become close because you worked together so much. You put up with his antics even though they pissed you off most of the time. It was impossible to not like the man. He was charming in his own peculiar way.
Soon you were yawning and thought it wouldn’t hurt just to close your eyes for a bit.
Tumblr media
Dieter slowly opened his eyes then stretched. He was about to say something to you until he saw that you were sleeping, your head resting on the window. He smiled then looked down at his hand which you were still holding.
“How the fuck do you look beautiful even when you’re sleeping?” he wondered aloud. He was sure he looked utterly ridiculous when he slept.
You groaned and sat up. When you said his name quietly, he checked to see if your eyes were open but you were still knocked out. This time, you put your head on his shoulder, nuzzling it before settling down again.
“So you dream about me, huh? You will not hear the end of this,” he teased before kissing the top of your head.
Tumblr media
You woke up to the sight of a clear cup. Tilting your head up, you realized you had been sleeping on Dieter’s shoulder.
“Sorry,” you mumbled as you sat up and stretched.
“Got you some wine then I drank it so I had to get you another one.” He handed you the small cup.
“Thanks. How did you sleep?” you asked before taking a sip of wine.
“Like a baby.”
“That’s good.” You looked at your watch. “We still have three hours to go.”
“Ugh, don’t tell me that. I’m so bored. Hey, wanna join the mile high club?” he offered.
“Don’t make me throw this wine in your face,” you warned.
“Loosen up, babe. Live a little,” he said.
“Please don’t call me babe.”
Tumblr media
When you landed in Spain, there was a car waiting for the both of you.
“This is what I’m talking about,” Dieter said.
“I can’t believe you’re gonna walk into some millionaire’s house dressed like that,” you teased.
“I don’t do fancy. What you see is what you get. Do you know this guy’s name?” he asked, touching a bunch of different buttons in the car to see what they did.
“Javi Gutiérrez.”
“I like the way you rolled your Rs there. Sexy,” he said.
“Hush.” You looked out the window and enjoyed the scenery. Dieter enjoyed looking at you and the way the sun gave your skin an ethereal glow.
“You’re beautiful,” he told you.
“Thank you,” you said without looking at him.
Tumblr media
When you pulled up to the house, no, mansion, the door was opened for you and you murmured a quick thank you.
“Holy shit,” you whispered.
“Fuck,” Dieter gasped beside you.
“Hello there!” someone shouted as they made their way over to you. “Do not worry about your bags, they will take care of it for you.” A few people seemingly appeared out of nowhere to gather your luggage and bring it inside.
Was this him? It had to be.
He removed his glasses as he approached and smiled at you. “I am Javi.” He held his hand out and you thought it was just for a quick handshake, but he surprised you by kissing your hand.
“Oh,” you giggled and Dieter rolled his eyes. Javi’s eyes lingered on you.
“Dieter Bravo,” Dieter interjected. “You know, the star of the movie.” Javi shook his hand but quickly turned his attention back to you.
“Are you not one of the actors?” he asked. “You look like a leading lady,” he flirted.
“Oh…um…” You laughed shyly, trying to fix your hair. “No, I’m just the assistant.”
“My assistant,” Dieter emphasized.
“Ah…” Javi offered you his arm. “Señora?”
“Thank you.” You took his arm and walked beside him as Dieter trailed behind, making faces. Javi led you to your room. “We have to share a room?”
“Not at all. The rooms are connected. See?” He opened a door and it led to another bedroom. “If you don’t like it, I can always move you closer to my room,” he offered.
“Ah ah!” Dieter stepped in front of you. “She’s fine here, thanks.”
“Okay then. I will leave you two to settle in then come find me and I will give you the tour.” He winked at you then left the room, closing the door behind him.
“Wow, he’s handsome and down to earth,” you sighed.
“Meh, I’ve seen better,” he mumbled.
“Are you jealous?” you teased.
“Of him? No way. I’m just saying he’s cute but not that cute.” He shrugged and walked around the room.
“I’m gonna take the other room.” You opened the door and walked through then ran to the bed and jumped onto it. “Can you believe this?” you yelled to Dieter.
“Why couldn’t he be rich and ugly?” he asked quietly.
“What?” you asked, standing by the open door.
“Huh? Oh, nothing. Thinking out loud.
“Well, come on, let’s go find Javi so he can give us a tour!” you said excitedly.
“I hope he shows us where the bar is first because I really need a drink,” he huffed. He watched as you practically skipped in front of him, spinning and looking at the walls and ceiling.
You made it to the end of the hall where you could look down into the main hall.
“Whoa! I feel like I’m a princess making a grand entrance.”
“Hello!” Javi yelled, waving his hand. You waved back and made your way down the stairs. “Come on, Dieter!”
“Coming,” he said without enthusiasm.
He was excited about coming to Spain but as he looked at the way Javi looked at you and you looked at him, he wasn’t so sure he would enjoy his time here.

Hello there! I’ve been reading your blog posts and I really appreciate your views and aesthetics, and I have noticed that you appear to be quite a busy person. I’m struggling with keeping up with uni lectures, not to mention all the projects I would love to embark in but lack the organisation to actually do it.
So my question is: how do you manage your time? Do you usually follow a schedule, some kind of routine, or do you prefer going with the flow? Do you set yourself goals, do you live by to-do-lists? How do you deal with procrastination?
I’m sorry if these are too many questions at once, but I thought I’d just group them in one ask. Have a wonderful day/night! :)
Hello,
I used to be very strict on time management (think GTD & timeblocking) but I've started to loosen up a bit because I felt as though I was spending more time adjusting the system rather than doing the actual work.
Currently I most closely follow a system described by Cal Newport in one of his books. I keep a digital calendar (google calendar) in which I keep everything I need to do, appointments etc. Every day I take out an index card and write down specific to-do's for today, occasionally if I'm extra busy I'll also write out a schedule on another index card hour by hour. As the day goes on I keep that note on me at all times, I cross of tasks and make notes of things that pop up. At the end of the day, I review the card and add things to my calendar and then I toss it.
When it comes to goals I have quite a few, they are quite longterm and I tend to just have some papers and a google doc file in which I outline it. I keep a post-it on my wall to remind myself of them but outside of that I am very reliant on my own determination to achieve those goals.
Procrastination is something I deal with by simply not doing anything. Most of the time my procrastination is the result of social exhaustion, my metaphorical battery is drained easily. I give myself the explicit permission and room to relax and make sure to reschedule the things I had intended to do.
I hope this has given you some insight into the system I use and that you're able to use it.
