the way that Cody reached for Nova and yelled his name when Nova fell I feel SICK and the fact that Cody would have died RIGHT THEN AND THERE REACHING FOR HIS BROTHER IF CROSSHAIR HADN’T BEEN THERE TO YANK HIM BACK and the FACT that after JUST losing Nova after JUST having EVERY REASON to be angry and strengthen his resolve to take out the person technically responsible for Nova’s death what does he do??? MY rant about Detective Conan and why the shit story is a fault of capitalism

okay so this may not even be as long as im imagining it in my head, but its just making me angry and i have to share my thoughts on this.

in short i think capitalism is what ultimately ruined the dcmk universe

if you really think about it, i feel like detective conan started out as an episodic manga/anime, but after seeing the success, they just wanted to make more to make more money, and ever so slowly it became a serialized manga/anime.

what this means ??? serialised series don"t have a plot, they can be watched in whatever order, episodic series' have an overarching plot, this is how detco started out as, shinichi getting shrunk by BO; having a clear goal; having stakes; after seeing the money roll in, they didn't want to stop, so they just.... kept adding story beats kept making it more and more complicated, to the point that (in my opinion) theres no concise plot anymore !!!! its all a big story salad that's gotten serialized, and we're being fed crumbs of lore being drenched in the salad dressing of an expected ending that WILL NOT COME! it wont, because if detco end the profit ends, and in this hellish system noone who participated with enjoyment wants that !

so yeah i think there wont be any dead set ending to this franchise because it brings in the money because it has been dressed up in the jacket of serialization. i don't think theres a canon anymore, like yes theres some plot but its just so convoluted, and theres so many things that its such a big mess that it becomes unimportant. I feel like im just following a carrot on a stick.
