Do you think the wizard nerd ever comes out with The Raven Queen. Like was she watching the fight with the Mighty Nein saw Caleb's time stop move, and be like oh I can't wait til he dies so I can meet him.

Ngl definitely thinking back to the cartoon-making chapter now we know that Twilight doesn't realise studying/pursuit of knowledge can be fun. No wonder the cartoon he made sucked. He was approaching it purely from the educational angle with zero idea of the entertainment aspect that makes edutainment programming effective.
It's not that he was really bad at writing the fun parts. He plain didn't realise there were meant to be any in the first place for it to work.
Copying the aesthetics with no understanding of what was underneath.

Magic-user Chilchuck - Early on, he happens to encounter code-breaking magic, which is lock-picking taken to its logical extreme. Skeptical but intrigued, he seeks out mana practice (training that increases mana capacities, within reason) then de facto founds a new magic style that minimizes mana and maximizes impact. Why kill with an explosion when a thousandth of the mana can interrupt a cardiac electrical circuit, causing immediate death? Hypothetically, of course.
His magic work causes strife with some half-foot factions, as well as catalyzes regular audits from western elves. Since "half-magic" (derisively coined by elves and tongue-in-cheek used by half-foots) uses so little raw power, their charges levied never pan out. He's been subtly threatened more than once by them for getting into subpractices that use too much power, though. So, he keeps his work proprietary, under incredible lock and key. The price is the barrier this creates for training new half-magic users.
Chilchuck is still fundamentally a lock-pick and navigator, but he can crack magic locks, navigates using charmed maps, and holds his own in mediation against the long-lived races. His name is bigger than he'd like. Rumor has it that he's carried out assassinations using untraceable small magic. (He can't meaningfully deny the hearsay, so he doesn't try, but he keeps his head down.) By the time he joins the Toudens, he loathes elves, but also has some envy. As he ages, he realizes how little time he has left to document and transmit his work to other half-foots.

I kinda find it funny how the MC in Magic Awakened [so far] is just watching their friends go through / relive / confront their trauma and family drama in the main storyline.
And each arc takes place in the span of a year which means every year, MC is just getting dragged through hell and back trying to maintain their grades while also witnessing at least one person in their friend group crash out for the majority of the semester

Love that the one thing the whole Castlevania fandom has in common is that none of us can fucking spell Erzsebet without looking it up

Also, can we talk about how it took years for Hama to invent bloodbending, but Katara figured it out in a single evening, just by becoming aware it was possible and seeing a brief demonstration?

Still no council, Tridenor refused to apologise to the dryads so now there is a massive oak tree positively flourishing in the middle of what used to be his manor.
Update though, I have been talking with them and now we’re going out to the Rock Bottom Tavern for drinks, and Lyra (she’s an oak dryad, the one responsible for turning Tridenor’s house to ruins) is wonderful!
She and her wife make lovely balms and cosmetics that I’ve been thinking of buying for my sister because technically I still owe her 50 draken after I broke what was supposedly a vase of hellfire BUT IT WAS CHEAP, THOSE THINGS AREN’T MEANT TO BREAK THAT EASILY, SHE GOT SCAMMED AND I DID HER A FAVOUR.
IT WAS FILLED WITH DIRT, STRAIGHT UP DIRT.
DIRT WITH A VIAL OF SUGAR INSIDE.

Janeen-jhan, the last princess of Veiland. A character who's not present in the story in person and yet, her existence and absence and what we eventually know about her is crucial for the plot and for the history. I don't want to make her the typical "perfect image", she was a bitter, stuck-up arrogant person, but she still didn't deserve what happened to her. I honestly think nobody deserves that🤫

The secret of speaking multiple languages is to not get attached to silly things such as accents and grammar. Like. I'll look you dead in the eye and say the most unhinged stuff using all the linguistic gymnastic skills I own trying to make up for words I don't remember and hope to get at least 50% of the message across

been thinkin a lot abt learning languages. it’s not something i particularly enjoy. i’ve never really given it a full go. like i did italian for probably 7+ years but im nowhere near conversational and definitely don’t have the grammar understanding or vocab of a 7 year learner.
im also not really into italian culture in general. italy is cool but there are definitely other countries and cultures i’ve been more invested in.
really atm there are only 3 languages im thinking of learning.
lao. i am half lao, its my dads mother tongue. my grandparents are getting old and they are my strongest connection i have to my culture. when they go (sad face) i will still have my aunties and uncles but its different. i feel like learning now while they’re around will help me keep my culture within me and not with someone else. i also find myself day dreaming a lot about thailand nowadays and if i feel like if i learn lao which is similar to thai it would make it easier for me to navigate thailand if i ever were to go.
korean. fairly straight forward. liked kpop since i was 14. love korean food. went to korea and loved it and wanna go again. i do like the idea of working in korea as an illustrator. not in a serious way but in a day dreamy romantic “wouldn’t it be nice” way.
czech. this one is more out there. i’ve been watching honest guide for a year its is prague / czechia propaganda. i am not immune. i dont have to learn czech to go bc most people in europe speak english i feel lol and prague is very touristy so even more so. that being said i think its still nice and respectful to know a little bit and it definitely enhances experiences and bonds with locals no?
these are sort of in order by how much i actually wanna learn them. i think learning lao would be deeply enriching for me. but i also think korean would be the easiest for me to learn due to my exposure to it already.
i also don’t know if i would be learning to read and write lao too. much to think about.

So in the Hero’s Journey there are two moments of Death and Rebirth: the Ordeal and the Resurrection
And I was freakin DELIGHTED to see that Blue Beetle (2023) included LITERAL death and rebirth during the Ordeal and METAPHORICAL death and rebirth during the Resurrection
Explanation in the tags to avoid spoilers but this movie was freakin great, very Hero’s Journey indeed
