There's a propaganda war on the Toad vs Shrub Berry and I'm scared what will happen if one side loses

I felt so bad for Shrub when the randomizer matched her against Toad I thought she was going to get DEMOLISHED, but she’s actually?? Ahead in the poll right now??

Good for her good for her. TBH a lot more underdogs are pulling ahead or having more even fights than I expected! It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out through the whole competition!

Anyways this is a great lesson that even if you think your candidate is an obvious win you should still go out and campaign and vote for them! Take this advice to real life!

And also remember to be kind to your fellow voters. I don’t reblog smack talk against the competition, but saying mean or threatening things to other real life people is unacceptable behavior. Y’all have done a pretty good job so far but occasionally I see people edging close to the line. Nobody’s crossed it yet though which has been great!

Wich characters have the most insane/dedicated supporters in your opinion?

The obvious is the power couple that is Toad Berry, but there’s definitely been some standouts from the rest of the competitors!

There’s a single blog that’s been dedicated to reblogging the PvZ shrooms in the tourney, much like Shrub.

The Bug Fables fans have been vocal in the tags of their reblogs every round.

Stanley was a stand out during the submissions, with 15 total nominations and I believe the ONLY character to reach double digits, but he’s been a silent victor in the actual polls so far.

There’s been hype for other characters but nothing that stands out to me off the top of my head, just the usual hype for characters of a fandom their size. I suppose Todd (from Mario) has a pretty vocal following but tbh once the Drawfans found the tournament it’s about what I expected. Everyone’s support has been about what I’d expect from fandom size aside from the examples.

If you’ve noticed anything or anyone (positive) that you wanna share, put it in the replies or your reblogs! We all strive to be Recognized for Internet Points. (This applies to more than just Anon as well, everyone join in!)

EDIT: How could I forget! The official @jointhepartypod tumblr found this poll while Room was still in the running, that was neat!

I am aware that the mcyt community is on with bad reputation among fandoms and I am aware that especially on the Twitter side it can be hectic, but I love Empires SMP and I really do love shrub berry so much as her story was really beautiful. It feels really silly, but really what is fandom culture if not being irrationally in love with a media that others might find silly?

Probably won't be joining you for next round unless I find some free time but I don't know Shrub berry always lives on, you know?

Shrub and toad are probably in some happy mushroom land adventuring with all the other eliminated contestants. Using the wolves to sniff out treasure and food, unfortunately the wolves are better at sniffing out the latter, but shrub believes they can smell treasure and that's enough for both of them to keep on following them onward getting lost, but ultimately having fun.

I always imagined some sorta toad berry cross over in which Xornoth begins corrupting the mushroom kingdom with the help of Bowser. When Shrub brings it up no one believes her except toad and they save the day together, never ended up doing it, what a shame

Someone write the hyperspecific niche crossover fanfic and I will reblog it

i’m so proud of everyone who rallied behind shrub (and toad) to get her this far and i’m so happy that she at least got to the semis :D glad that the empires/mcyt people weren’t excluded from this poll bracket and our fervent campaigning was enjoyable (i hope)

It was a lot of campaigning! Gonna be sad to see the propaganda numbers go down next round for the Semifinals (this was the QUARTER finals, we still have one round left before the finals).

Given some interest from both sides of Toad Berry, I’m presenting this option to continue the saga! Team Shrub, as the winners of your Round 2 match, you get the chance to decide the fate of Toad! Will you bring him with you on further adventures, combining the forces of your powerful teams, or will you chose to have Shrub fight for victory on her own, no shared valor?

The poll is set for 1 week but the decision will be made based on the poll’s standing when I draft up the Round 3 Matchups, which is likely to be around Friday.

No actual ill will between propagandists (if you’re referring to the puppy kicking thread (terribly out of context since I didn’t reblog it, I felt like it was the ‘I will ignore primarily negative propaganda posts’ even though it was all jokes. Don’t wanna break my rules just for the popular kids) I know those two in particular are good.
