Oh my god they’re finally almost done! The Superboy ones took me somehow nearly 5 hours. Curves are the fucking worst when trying tocut cardboard neatly. My exactoknife is getting dull super fast from this unfortunately so I’ll likely have to go out and get replacements tomorrow.

I think they look super nice and I’m very happy with how they turned out! Just waiting on the glue for the SB logos to dry so I can attach them to the shortbox!

genuine question, are you white? if not, ok. if so, what makes you think you have the right to discuss what does and does not hurt poc in terms of rcta/trace things? obviously white voices are important, but poc voices matter most in this discussion. and i know poc arent a monolith and everyone has different opinions, but every poc ive talked to who knows about the community is deeply hurt by it. i’m a poc myself, and the community just isnt healthy. trace/rcta is based almost completely on fetishization and aestheticization(idk if that’s a word but i hope you get my meaning) of race and culture and is incredibly gross. i don’t want to say completely based on those due to the possibility of other reasonings, but that’s what it seems to mostly consist of. i dont expect to change your opinion with this one anon, i just hope you think about what you’re saying and promoting to your audience. thanks if you even read or respond to this, and this isn’t meant to be hateful i just want you to take a moment and think about this /gen

Because I always see this used to shutdown dissenting opinions from the anti-trace side but never against white anti-trace people. Just makes the whole thing feel less like "you can't talk about this if you're white" and more like "you can't disagree with me if you're white."

I think the vast majority of the trace community would disagree that their identities are based on fetishization and aestheticization.

And I also feel there's a sort of... familiarity... to these sorts of generalizations. Are these not the same types of generalizations launched against the trans community from TERFs? "Fetishization" seemed to be a popular argument from them. And for aestheticization... that's pretty much the whole justification for transmeds labeling people who support non-dysphoric transgenders as "ToCutes." I've even seen anti-endos use similar language when attacking endogenic systems.

It seems like communities keep falling into these same exact traps.

But you're right.

We are white, and on top of that, we aren't trace or diarace. This isn't an issue that personally affects us.

So don't listen to our opinion on this.

Reach out. Listen to the trace/diarace community. Listen to the people there and ask them why they identify how they do. Ask how they experience their race and be willing to understand.

I don't know if it would change your mind about them completely, but it might at least make you reconsider the generalizations you've made about them which I assume are based mostly on what you've heard from second hand sources.

That's just speculation on my part I have to admit, But I think back in 2020 ir 2021I saw some rumors about Uncharted having a make out/implied sex scene between Tom and Sophia, they showed it during test screening and decided tocut it Maybe because the sexual chemistry was shit (even the deleted scene on the balcony was not giving anything sorry), maybe it was alright but the director didn't want to focus on the romantic part. Which is ironic because I think Tom and Sophia were perfectly fine off screen, she's probably the female costar he got closer to, but yeah anyway we don't have a lot of material yet but The Winner will be the real test

There are some good actors that can't deliver in the sexual/romantic area and maybe Tom is one of them, I've yet to be completely sold but that's because his projects were not great on that part

the book version of the movie has a scene like that in it hence why some thought that they might have filmed something like it as well but that was never confirmed

i dont know how to describe just how unwell i get whenever i return to star trek like there is something genuinely insane in my mind about it. if i accidentally start to talk about it irl i do like trap people in like 30 minute entirely on accident convos about it like online im relatively normal about it but irl there is like. sickness in my heart in ways i cannot stress enough. when it was summer 2021 and i was working at five below i would literally spend like whole 8 hour shifts just thinking about star trek in my mind and surviving that way and i'd get really excited for my lunch break bc it meant i could watch most of a trek episode. i would literally be thinking about it all of my waking hours except like so genuinely summer 2021 the only time i wasnt thinking about star trek was literally when i was asleep and it was both ds9 and tos i was thinking about and i am very unwell about both those series. i was unwell about enterprise but in a secret way when i was watching it. summer 2022 i would get anxious if i wasnt home in time to watch trek (unemployed era) bc i accidentally created a routine based around being able to watch ds9 at 9 and then enterprise at 11 bc that's the scheduling on the heroes and icons channel (tos at 7 ent at 8 ds9 at 9 voy at 10 and ent at 11 and then baywatch was at midnight. but i dont watch baywatch). anyways this is like i dont know like im on a different wavelength of unwell about trek than i am about comics but understand despite having my reputation irl for daredevil like there is really some actual bug in my brain about star trek when i remember it. sleeper agent of my mind. i got into it in middle school and oh lord. 13/14 year old eiffel about trek. goodness. and it's only ever gotten worse anywasy this post is a lot lot lot longer than i meant it to be it was meant to be funny jokey with the story i always tell of my summer where i literally was thinking about it every waking moment and then i got way too sincere in my explanation about it and overexplained and I NEED TOCUT THE POST OFF HERE. OKAY.
