PERSONALITY:

Appearing to most as a friendly, laid back, amiable, and boisterous guy, he hides a sly, scheming, and borderline manipulative side that he developed during his years of strife. He cares deeply for Rakurai and will do anything and everything to stay by his side. He is easy going and seeks fun everywhere, usually dragging his friends along with him to try out new things. His unassuming demeanor allows him to get close to many people but never truly be part of a single circle. When irked however, he is an unnerving presence. Kuva is fully capable of orchestrating full scenarios by predicting people's behavior and setting them up accordingly.

MODERN AU TIMELINE:

born in Yokohama. Mother: Himari, works as a salesclerk.

Age 3: grew up there for a while, and his younger brother, Tatsuno was born.

Age 7: Father left without warning. Implied that the father was cheating, and has incurred debt.

Age 8: befriended the new classmate of the elementary class, Rakurai, sensing that they were both from a troubled family situation. Became inseparable, and Kuva cherished the little solace of this friendship.

Age 10: Debt collectors stormed their house when they were away. Fearing for their lives, the mother abruptly pulled them away from school and moved to a different city.

Age 11-14: They moved around a bit more. Two cities and a few areas within them. Held back by a year.

Age 14-18: After much persuasion, Himari finally moved her family to the countryside with her grandparents.

Age 19: Returns to Yokohama for college, much to the dismay of his mother. Meets Rakurai again, after years of radio silence. The relationship was strained, and Kuva was not the best at communicating what had happened, playing it off too lightly that it pissed off Rakurai, who was trying to be patient with him.

(COLLEGE YEARS) Lives in a shared apartment with his Akasa, a 2nd year who goes to the same school. Tatsuno later shares the apartment too.

Has a pet dog named (Sir) Waffles, a Pomeranian. Waffles got sick in Kuva's 4th year of college and later on passed away. Kuva later on adopted a dameranian (Dachsund/Pomeranian mix) named Toffee.

Majors in Forensic Science.

Part of a band: Lock!!On (with Rakurai and Zevy)

Very much enjoyed his time pursuing the same interests (music) as Rakurai.

Part time job in a CD store. Very friendly with the owner. Got tons of connection in there.

Above average grades. Excels at anthropology and toxicology. Likes to sit in random classes if he's not noticed. Memorized Raku's schedule so he could drop by. FUTURE TIMELINE:

Works as a forensic scientist.

Works in the same lab sector that Rakurai is acquainted with. Rakurai's personal call whenever he needs opinion on cases

Youngest in the lab. Social butterfly. Chief likes him but wonders why everyone is seemingly unnerved by him.

Very good eye for scene analysis (jokingly says it's because of his farsightedness) and is quick with reenacting possible scenarios. Unfortunately this makes him prone to missing small details that his colleagues have to pick up on. Distasteful dark humour.

Surprisingly athletic. Trains with Rakurai during Saturdays while they're catching up.

Unfortunately gets himself involved in cases Rakurai is handling. Like. Physically there. Just because.

Here's Pokemon Plow's sixth Gym Leader! Y'all ever hear about cream candy? Pulled cream, Kentucky creams, it goes by a few different names. It's soooo good and the way it melts in your mouth, it's AAAAAAAA TuT ... *ahem* Yes, anyway.

In Plow Version's Sterbonne Gym, you'll face off against the fairy-type specialist Coco. She has been making confectionaries since before some of the other Gym Leaders were even born. Chocolate bars, pulled cream candies, chocolate-covered treats, bourbon balls made in partnership with a local distillery...you name it, she probably makes it. The Gym is run in the back of her candy factory, where you must navigate a series of lifts and platforms designed to look like the various items her company sells in order to reach her location in the back.

Now Coco's team is almost all pure fairy-type, so if you have Minosteel or if you evolved that Eevee you got back in Lexville into either a Toxeon or Chromeon, or otherwise just have some poison or steel Pokemon or moves, you might be able to breeze right through this. She'll have a Slurpuff at level 40, an Aromatisse at level 41, an Alcreamie at level 41, and a Toffeenie at level 42 who she'll join in with for a Union Battle. After you become the Champion, Coco will have a Slurpuff, an Aromatisse, an Alcreamie, a Cantessian Polteageist, a Sylveon, and a Toffeenie. And yes, you read that right, Cantessian Polteageist! >:3c Look, I love that lil teapot, I wanted to bring it to Cantessy so baaaaad and if you know anything about any state considered part of "the south" you can probably guess where I'm going with that one hehe. Shame we won't be seeing it for QUITE a while...probably closer to one of the eighth Gym Leaders, if I remember correctly.

It relies on its carapace to deflect incoming attacks and throw its enemy off balance. As soon as that happens, it drives its drill into the foe.

Met at Motostoke Riverbank (Lv. 26) a lifetime ago.

Leon looked after Rhydon as it recovered from the accident in which it lost its partner, Leon’s father. After it bonded to Leon, they began training together. They decided it should evolve following the first Championship battle it participated in. A couple of years after losing the title, Leon decided to retire the old, reliable Rhyperior, so he can live his golden years in luxury.

WOOLOO ♀ x5 | [Azalea, Jasmine, Lily, Poppy, Saffron] If its fleece grows too long, Wooloo won't be able to move. Cloth made with the wool of this Pokémon is surprisingly strong. OT: Leon Malik Level: 5 Type: Normal Abilities: Fluffy / Run Away Hatched in Hammerlocke | 4/20 This small flock of Wooloo are sisters, all sired by Hop’s Dubwool. On the whole, they’re a docile lot, though they can get worked up by the Mareep and Skiddo they share a field with. They take sudden shifts in excitability in good stride, and cherish their foreign counterparts. Lily has gone to live with Leon’s best friend, Mads.

MAREEP ♀ x3 | [Butterscotch, Caramel, Toffee] Its fleece grows continually. In the summer, the fleece is fully shed, but it grows back in a week. OT: Leon Malik Level: 13 Type: Electric Abilities: Static Met on Kalos Route 12 (Lv. 13) | 2/20 Leon caught a small flock of Mareep while on holiday in Kalos. They’ve taken nicely to life in Galar, thanks to their adaptability. They adore being petted, thus Leon has invested in rubber gloves and shoes to give them all the affection they desire without endangering himself.

SKIDDO ♀ | [Tatties] Thought to be one of the first Pokémon to live in harmony with humans, it has a placid disposition. OT: Leon Malik Level: 10 Type: Grass Ability: Sap Sipper Met on Kalos Route 5 (Lv. 10) | 2/20 In Kalos, Leon absolutely fell in love with Skiddo. Tatties is very energetic, and enjoys romping around the field with anyone who can match her energy -- Leon being no exception. He’s been trying to learn how to make cheese with her milk, but it’s a whole process.

MILTANK ♀ | [Pepper] It produces over five gallons of milk a day. The higher the quality of the pastures it lives in, the richer and tastier its milk becomes. OT: Leon Malik Level: 25 Type: Normal Ability: Thick Fat Met on Kalos Route 12 (Lv. 25) | 2/20 Only Haxorus can really compare with Miltank’s doting nature. She’s rather taken to being the de facto mother of the ranch, ensuring every Pokemon in the fields is content, and that the atmosphere is peaceful and happy. Additionally, she’s happy to know that her nutritious milk goes to people and Pokemon who need it.

EEVEE ⊙ | [Chance] It can evolve into a variety of forms. Eevee's genes are the key to solving the mysteries of Pokémon evolution. OT: Leon Malik Level: 20 Type: Normal Ability: Run Away Nature | Characteristic: Hasty | Impetuous and silly Met at ☐☐☐☐☐☐ ☐☐☐☐ (Lv. 20) | 5/20 Leon was trusted by a visitor named Cyan to look after Eevee. Based on its clipped tail and missing patches of fur, they suspect it was mistreated. Despite that past, Eevee is full of boundless energy and is thriving in Leon’s care.

GOOMY *  ♀ | [Marmalade Mr. Sinister] Their horns are powerful sensors. As soon as Goomy pick up any sign of enemies, they go into hiding. This is how they've survived. OT: Raihan Malik Level: 10 Type: Dragon Ability: Hydration Hatched in Hammerlocke | 5/20 After helping Raihan look after the Goomy Party for the months following their hatching, Leon found himself claimed by one in particular. It’s more of a lap Pokemon than a battler, but Leon adores it all the same. He wouldn’t want to hurt Goodra’s feelings, after all.

CHANSEY ♀ | [Samado] A kindly Pokémon that lays highly nutritious eggs and shares them with injured Pokémon or people. OT: Hop Malik Level: 16 Type: Normal Ability: Natural Cure Met at Fields of Honour (Lv. 15) | 7/20 blurb 

COMFEY ♀ | [Peepo] It picks flowers and sticks them to its body with fluids it produces. The aroma that wafts from its petals has a healing effect. OT: Hop Malik Level: 20 Type: Fairy Ability: Triage Met at Soothing Wetlands (Lv. 20) | 7/20 blurb

Egg �� Mudbray → MUDSDALE ♀ | [Peanutbutterjiggles] It eats dirt to create mud and smears this mud all over its feet, giving them the grip needed to walk on rough terrain without slipping. OT: Leon Malik Level: 5 Type: Ground Ability: Own Tempo Egg received from Wynne Eynon | 7/20 Egg hatched at Fields of Honour | 7/20 PBJ was raised alongside Claude’s Ponyta to show him the ropes of Pokemon rearing. She’s grown into a proud Mudsdale, though she prefers being ridden to battling, and that’s perfectly fine to Leon.

My take as a scientist who works with wild fish? Catching multiple Pokémon of the same species to complete the Pokédex is not only not problematic, it’s necessary. You don’t want a sample size that’s too small! That’s how you end up with misinformation. Imagine writing a whole-ass assessment of a species based on a single Alpha captured in the field… you’d get people INSISTING that Pikachu is six feet tall, and the smaller, more normal-sized ones are anomalies, haha.

This is just… how we do the research in my field; use the proper gear to capture a creature (a trawl net, seine net, or fish trap at my job, a Pokéball in the game,) take data, then release it… which the game encourages you to do by rewarding you with EV-boosting items when you return the Pokémon you don’t want to bond with to the wild!

And the fact that each Pokémon has a unique height and weight when you catch it, and that you’re encouraged to find out what foods it likes, what moves it likes to use, etc., feels a LOT more like science than the previous Pokédex-Completion aspects of the game had.

tl;dr, you don’t have to feel like an exploitative shitheel for capturing 25 Bidoof for the Pokédex and then releasing them… that’s just fieldwork, babey! You’re ensuring a proper sample size, which means good data, which increases understanding. You are a good scientist!
