I’m watching a livestream right now and everything is so cute!! I’ve never played these games but I’m so tempted now…

honestly, if you like slow paced life sims where you can customize...pretty much anything you want, while making friends with lovable animal characters and building up a community, growing trees, catching bugs and fish...then this game is for you. i cannot recommend it enough. it’s everything i wanted it to be. if you watch the nintendo direct we got on it before it was released, that might help you decide, i know it was the last bit of encouragement a lot of people needed to make the decision!

I had to buy new ones because i somehow managed to break the usb adapter for the 2.0 that sadly can’t be replaced. So i upgraded.

1. First console you’ve ever owned?

An original PlayStation, which my parents bought for the family way back in 1997.

5. Game with the best soundtrack?

I’m gonna have to cheat and give you two lmao. Either FFXIII-2 or FFXV. Both of them are excellent soundtracks for similar reasons. A wide variety of styles, and really strong tracks. However, they’re both very different in their overall style. FFXIII-2 has a lot of synth/rock elements, whilst FFXV is much more instrumental. But I love them both to pieces!

28. Who got YOU into gaming?

Not so much who, as a particular game? When we got the PlayStation, it came with a game called Klonoa. It was (and still is!) heaps of fun, and had a pretty emotional storyline which made my entire family cry. I was hooked since then!

64. Describe your favorite video game using only three words?

Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria is epic, beautiful and fun!

Last book I read/listened to: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas, because I cannot leave this book alone, I honestly cannot tell you how many times I’ve reread it.

Favourite Colour: Soft, buttery yellow

Top 3 TV shows: I’ll raise it to four because I shan’t decide  so; Teen Wolf, Sense8, Stranger Things and The Musketeers (If this included animation, this would probably be a very different list.)

Hey :) I've been playing the demo for the new Dragon Quest game (I'm actually not done with it yet, it's longer than I expected) and I'm still on the fence on buying a long RPG of a series I never played before. Is this a good entry for a newbie? It does look lovely and you seem to like it a lot!

the demo is absolutely huge, i was amazed by that too. but it’s also such a good demo, and having played about 35 hours of the actual game now, the demo is really representative of what you’ll find in the main game itself. the only dq game i’ve played in full is 8 and that was years ago on the ps2, so this was an almost new experience for me too! but the story is completely stand alone, so no previous series knowledge is needed. it’s not like jumping into a mass effect or dragon age game.

but the story is great, the characters are all wonderful, the world is beautiful, combat is fun. honestly, if you’re enjoying the demo, and still feel the same way once you’ve finished, i’d definitely recommend getting the full game! it’s well worth it. not to mention, anything you do or collect in the demo, carries over to the full game too. so yeah, i’d definitely say if you’re enjoying your experience so far, go for it!
