Miraculous fanart: Mayura VS The Miraculous Team
Tumblr media
I've finally completed the fresco (and I've added Red Moon).
I began the 5th April morning. Finished the 7th april (11:20 a.m., french hour).
From left to right: Vesperia, Chrysalis, Mayura, Hawkmoth, Rooster Bold, Caprikid, Miss Hound, Pigella, Purple Tigress, Polymouse, Minotaurox, Cat Noir, Ladybug, Bunnyx, Rena Rouge, Carapace, Pegasus (ft. Markov), Queen Bee, Argos (ft. Red Moon), Ryuko, King Monkey, Viperion
The description:
We can see Mayura pushing Hawkmoth into a table. The despaired Supervillain yells "Traitoress !" and "Help me !". He begs his assistant by saying "I surrender.". Ladybug, Cat Noir and the entire Miraculous have mixed reactions. They are all afraid, worried, uncomfortable about seeing what is happening with Mayura and Hawkmoth.
All but not Chrysalis and Queen Bee.
Chrysalis watches the situation with gratification. 😈
Chlo... Queen Bee slowly expresses her anger against Mayura. The rich blonde girl wanted to become THE superheroin of Paris who arrested Hawkmoth for endure her popularity but Mayura is killing her goal. So she has wants to use the Venom for paralysing the Peacock woman. 🤬
Markov analyzes the stats, competences, skills and strentgh of the Peacock villainess: "Your chances of victory in this match against Mayura are estimated to: 0%. 😨💀"
Red Moon the sentimonster feels fear and panic. 🔴
What the Miraculous team members are commonly afraid of is that Mayura is comes to destroy/fight them.
Evolution (from initial sketch to full digital art):

do people really say Lancelot ruined a healthy marriage? What did he do, force Guinevere to have an affair with him?
Do you think this is a recent trend of affording Guinevere no agency, or has that always been a tendency in Arthuriana?
I believe there's always been controversy surrounding the character of Lancelot, past or present (and to a dufferent degree, Guinevere). Its simply the result of changing tastes and cultural values.
For one thing, most people today are knowledgeable about King Arthur only with a pop culture/theme park understanding of the legends. Not everyone makes it their hobby to read medieval stories of Knights and Chivalry.
And when they do, they often just simply read a cliff notes, dumb down summary of the legends, especially since the major works are either untranslated from their native languages and/or are extremely intimidating to approach.
Ex. Le Morte D'Arthur, the go-to must-read version of legends, is really long (even though its already an abridged version of older legends!) and uses archaic english, making it hard to understand at times.
And even if they do read the major works through, they wouldn't be inclined to understand the historical contexts for why certain things happen.
When it comes to Lancelot, his most famous element of his character is his affair with Queen Guinevere, Arthur's wife.
To a modern person, Lancelot would come off as a horribly rancid person.
"Why is this guy muscling in on another man's wife? How on earth could he be a Hero?"
Lancelot embodies an old Medieval cultural trend, known as "Courtly Love" - the idea that Love and Pursuit of Love are noble qualities to embody with caveat that it can only be found outside of social norms.
Tumblr media
(From Epistolary)
So, in short, Lancelot was written to be a hero championed the ideals of Courtly Love as part of what it means to be Knight and Christian Warrior.
Like many things, Society moved on. Cultures change and suddenly, Marriage became union of love, instead of politics and property inheritance.
Lancelot, as a character, simply became outdated - he aged poorly.
Meanwhile, for one reason or another, Arthur and Guinevere's marriage is imagined to be successful a love match.
As a result, a modern person, doing a light reading of the tales of Sir Lancelot with no knowledge of Medieval culture, walks away with a bitter taste in his/her mouth.
On the topic of Guinevere's agency, this should be noted: Guinevere has been, since the earliest legends, villified as a traitoress, with or without Lancelot. (Usually with Mordred, but that a different topic)
But when it comes to Lancelot, no, Guinevere was never forced into an affair. She always had a choice.
Indeed, Vulgate cycle depicts their romance as a gradual arc, wherein young Lancelot devotes his knightly deed in the service of Guinevere's honor, culminating with Guinevere - through the advice of Galehaut and the Lady of the Lake - rewarding Lancelot's loyalty with reciprocation.
Courtly Love was promoted by women, like Marie de Champagne above, and thus valued women's choice.
Indeed, there is a kind of feudal terminology involve in Courtly Love where the Knight -Lover in question is subordinate to the Lady-Beloved, often referred to as "Middons" or Master by the Knight-Lover.
This is demonstrated in Knight of the Cart, Lancelot's seminal appearance in the Legends, where Guinevere has strict command of Lancelot and his actions, asking him to lose a fight on purpose, etc.
So, no, Lancelot did not force Guinevere into an affair.
That would have been against the Rules of Love.

Kushiel’s Legacy GIF sets || Isabel L’Envers
Barquiel L’Envers sat at his ease, legs crossed before him, but I did not doubt for an instant that he was a dangerous man. “After you named my sister a murderess for all the realm to hear?” he asked smoothly. “Do you suggest I simply forgive this slight?” “Yes.” Delaunay said it without losing an inch of composure. I heard several of the men-at-arms murmur. The Duc raised his hand without looking to see which ones. “Why?” he asked curiously. “I know what you have to offer, and I wish to hear it. But it settles nothing between us, Delaunay. Why should I forgive?” Delaunay drew a long breath and something smouldered in his voice. “Do you swear, your grace, on Elua’s name and your own lineage, that my song was untrue?” His question hung in the air. Barquiel L’Envers considered it, then moved his head slightly, neither a nod nor a shake. “I do not swear either way, Delaunay. My sister Isabel was ambitious, and jealous in the bargain. But if she had aught to do with Edmée de Rocaille’s fall, I will swear she never intended her death.” “The intent does not matter; the cause alone suffices.” “Perhaps.” Barquiel L’Envers continued to study him. “Perhaps not. Because of your words, a traitoress may name my sister a cold-blooded killer to the King’s own face, and no one will gainsay it. You have not given me sufficient reason to forgive. Have you more?”

The edifice constructed around Elizabeth Barton now began to fall aprt, as people flocked to dissociate themselves from her. The monks of Bocking's own monastery, as a whole body, felt it politic to write to the King seeking his forgiveness for the actions of their 'miserable brother.' After speaking with Cranmer, they also offered money-- £200 or £300-- to Henry [VIII], which they hoped might help him see his way to forgiving them. On 25 November 1533, the Marchioness of Exeter also wrote an abject letter to the King, entirely condemning the 'most unworthy, subtle, and deceivable' Barton. By 16 November 1533 it was reported that Barton had 'confessed herself not only a traitoress but also an heretic.' She had 'mocked all of Kent' with her 'marvellous hypocrisy'.

In Le morte de Arthur, the way Arthur finds out he is adopted is so funny to me, mostly cause it’s so sad.
Like no one sits him down and explains anything, they just come out and say it when it becomes pertinent.
Arthur confused after pulling out the sword for the stone: Dad, what’s going on?
Sir Ector: oh, I’m not your dad.
Arthur: 😧
Years later after fighting a grueling civil war his mom and sister show up.
Ulfius: traitoress!
Irgaine: excuse you?
Arthur: Sir ulfius you can’t just accuse people!
Ulfius: well maybe if she had just told us she was your mom we wouldn’t have had a civil war.
Arthur: wait what?
Igraine: I didn’t even know I was his mom. Uther gave him to Merlin as soon as he was born.
Sir Ulfius: oh, so it’s Merlin’s fault then. Good to know.
Arthur: I have a Mom? 🥺

Tell us, Father
What should we regret?
What became of us -
Or what did not?
Small things, curled up,
Clinging together for warmth
Awaiting the day,
Awaiting to be snatched in the night.
The traitoress who raised us
Ever-bitter, ever-despising
Father-ours, would you have protected us?
Shielded us, if you were able?
How simple! Timidity and shaking claws.
Orrery, Syzysgy, treachery.
Tell us, Father
Which to ask forgiveness for?
What we are? What we became?
What we could not be?
What we are? What we are not?
Aiat. We survived. Aiat.

Pretty sure Mev would have taken Nef's betrayal as a declaration of war and cut his hair. Plus, Nef, the reason he had long hair in the first place, just left so no point to keep it anymore.
No matter if long or short hair tho, Nef is weak for seeing Mev with messy hair bc he associates it with better, gentler times. He really doe miss waking up to Mev's bed head in the morning </3

For the wip word game - a sentence that contains "sea"? Broad, I know, but I didn't want to risk being too specific 🙃
Ding ding Got your self a few! There's a lot __ of the sea or _ from the sea so only chose one of each of those
"Traitoress of the sea! " captain Shark laughed gibbering and giggling faintly to himself. Flecks of foam were about his mouth eyes rolling and his pupils were blown. "Traitoress of the sea!"
"Serves him right." Atlanta scowled, prodding him with her boot.
X
"Do you know some sea people call your captain? The oncoming storm. Mostly in a word play about his name but to some commities of the sea, Stingray is but an omen of death."
X
Girl from the sea' we hear them call you. Girl from the sea. Not your title Not your city; You are not even a cadet here,  daughter of Aphony.
X
"We did wonder why you didn't dive into the sea and just swim for it. " Troy said. "Scared to? Yeah... he's got a lot weapons if you had I guess."
X
it is the Sea fever. Or maybe sea sickness!
X
"We have a saying. Both Pacifican and kazoob and many other forms: Too long in the sea one forgets to breath air. But Too long on dry land you can forget the water."
X
"Yeah yeah. Don't worry about me, Marina."  "She swam out to sea save your hide tempest I think Marina's entitled to be a little worried!"
Thank you! 😊 🌊 🦭 ⛵ 🐚

V so far looks great but the story is flaccid. I don’t know any of these people. Ocelot isn’t cackling, Kaz isn’t slutty, the fanservice character isn’t even a bitch, Strangelove and Paz are only here in spirit, I half think the V/BB twist got put in at the last minute to explain why none of these people had a goddamn personality except Huey. Sure the plot is less stupid than 4 but what’s the point!

You may heard about that "russian babushka with ussr flag" so
"Alla Ivanovna says, she went out to AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) because she thought they were occupiers and she tried to "reconcile" by using this flag so they wouldn't destroy the village and Ukraine. But now she feels like a "traitoress".
"Now, when Alla Ivanovna got a mine to the yard from russians, help from Ukrainians and her grandson is being saved in Poland, when she learned out about Bucha and others, she threw that red flag far away", -- says "Kadet".
AFU urged to not humiliate and bully the old woman.
