Terrans, when they were babysitting Bluesun, often showed her comics and taught her who was who (especially where her grandfather's and parents were), they were the ones who taught Blue to say "mom" instead of "carrier" and "dad" instead of "sire". And thanks to the comics, Bluesun learned the fighting techniques of Arcee and Elita (they are very proud of this).

Breakdown calls his daughter "beetle", because she calls all cars that are yellow or look like a Volkswagen Beetle "mom" (guess who taught her this :D ), and she herself looks very much like Bee, and those wings too, so Breakdown didn't think long about a nickname.

Breakdown has been gone for no less than a week when Ratchet receives a heavily encrypted message.

At first he thinks it’s nothing and it’s only years of combat through his technology and being a medic that he even spots that something is different about it.

The one difference in the file is a punctuation at the end, a single full stop that is something humans do instead of the cybertronian symbol.

He opens the file, works his way through it for over two earth hours, and when he’s finally done everyone has gone to have their shutdown and the humans are at home safe and sound.

Part of him thinks it could be a trap sent my Soundwave but there’s something in his spark that’s telling him to trust it. He’s been a doctor for years, he’s learnt that trusting your instinct is the most important part of the job. It’s a combination of prior knowledge, subconscious awareness and thinking and the thing humans call a ‘gut feeling’.

Ratchet opens the last link and finds a message that reads,

“Hello Doctor.

I am aware that we are not friends and work for opposing forces, but I am desperate. I am not sending this because I have had a change of spark or something dramatic like that, though I can’t say I have never thought of that.

No, this is far more important than any sides of a war or Megatrons foolish little game.

I am with sparkling.”

Ratchet stalls for a moment at that sentence before stealing his nerves and continuing.

“I found out around two deca-cycles ago and was afraid to tell the Sire, and now he is gone.

If Megatron finds out about this, both that I am with sparkling and that I can conceive, I will never be safe. He hasn’t been too focused on it, but we all know he has put plans in place should he have the chance to have an heir.

I’m not stupid enough to think he won’t find out, and I’m not too prideful to put my ego and desire to been correct over the life of my sparkling.

So I am asking you as both a medical professional and a close friend of Optimus for help.

I don’t need you to let me join you or live among you, but please help me get out.

I am begging you to help me make sure my sparkling doesn’t end up like Shockwave or Megatron or, Primus forbid, Starscream. I want my to have the chance to choice who it wants to be, and I know that it’s Sire would have wanted for us all to be with you Autobots.

But I have accepted this too late.

Turn me away if you wish, but please help my sparkling.

I don’t have much time and I do not want to terminate it, it’s all I have left of Breakdown.

Ratchet actually had to sit down once he’s finished reading, serve pressed to his chaises in both shock and heavy understanding. He helped many with their sparklings during the war and knew well the grief of it, even if it was never something he went through.

He sits there for a long time, considering every thing he knows, before he stands again and sends a message back with identical encryption.

“Knock-Out.

I am sorry for what you are going through, both your loss and your situation.

Whether my team wants you here or not I will find a safe place for you, this I promise you on the All Spark. I am sure Optimus will understand but we must act quickly, so listen to my instructions and I will be able to keep your family safe.”

Ratchet lays out the plan quickly and with no room for miscommunication, even going so far as to send a ground bridge for the Mech at a certain point during the next cycle.

He can deal with the teams reactions once’s he’s got Knock-Out safely out of his enemies hands.

The idea of Breakdown coming back to life after the war (somehow) combined with the idea of Wildbreak being the KOBD lovechild is a concept I shall always always love.

Whether its with Wildbreak as a cute little sparkling or as a teenager or an adult I dont care. Just Breakdown learning he apparently has a kid and how he reacts to knowing hes a dad no is something I absolutely adore.

KO with split spark sparklings

One is a little angel baby princess who hates getting dirty or scratches on her paint and would rather play indoors. Knockout had to physically carry her at times because she refuses to walk or drive on dirt.

The other is a menace to society, loves driving fast even if it means wrecking himself. Absolutely enjoys human culture and earth as a planet. Best friendsb with Breakdown's sparkling. Sweet kid but is a huge mess maker.

You try not to snort as your kids hands Knockout an entire rose bush, stem, roots, dirt and all.

"I love it" Knockout smiles through thinly veiled disgust and your sparkling beams.You end up planting it in the back garden.

Starscream's kid is 100% his pride and joy even though he tries to pretend like she's not. His sparkling would either be the most arrogant thing possible or super sweet no in-between. When she's too small to fly on her own she rides in his cockpit but as she gets bigger they fly together and he definitely shows her fancy flight maneuvers. Father-daughter dates because he wants her to have high standards.

You watch your daughter's wings droop and lower derma pout as she begs you for the toys from her favorite cartoon.

"Pleeeeeeaase, they're limited time edition."

Her puppy dog eyes might work on Starscream but not you....right, right? Stay strong soldier.

I like to imagine megs with a daughter aswell (you get a daughter and you get a daughter 🫵) while it would be karmic debt to get a kid whos really sensitive it's much funnier if the child is a gremlin.

"Your time is up Megatron."

Optimus points his blaster down at him but he catches something the corner of his optic. A sparkling jumps infront of Megatron before Optimus can shoot him.

"Using your own sparkling as a shield is low even fo-"

He's cut off as Megs daughter tranforms into a gun and shoots him.

"You were saying, Prime"

Gun alt mode is so fucking funny to me.

YESSSSSS I LOVE THE SPARKLING BRAINROT Soundwave's kid is the scariest most intelligent baby ever. Very affectionate with her mom, but also very likely to eliminate whatever she thinks is "threatening" her caretaker. Her creepy voice is perfection - makes me wonder if her dad ever speaks to her despite his vow of silence - or if he just sticks to EM field communication Lmao Knock Out's split-sparks are are his punishment for being the way he is. They each adopted some of his worst traits lmao. You'd think the twins don't get along but - no - it's even worse. One of them is great at manipulation, while the other is an adrenaline junkie who keeps crashing into his sire's pedes - together, they're unstoppable. If they unite forces with Breakdown's kid, they'll end the world together I personally loveeee the concept of Starscream starting off being like ew towards his own child before eventually bonding with her and being overwhelmed by his need to protect this part of himself. Still in denial abt it- even tho he shadows her constantly during flights and acts way nicer than he does to anyone else. Also the type of parent who refuses to think his kid has done anything wrong lol Megatron with a feral daughter is the best. I'm telling you, she's been gnawing on him since day one. Imagine she turns into something similar to G1 Galvatron's alt-mode - a turret-gun of sorts. She may not cause all that much damage, but her role model is carnage incarnate. Introducing to you - made over the course of a few months - a visual guide to cybertronian pedipalps and proboscis!

The general gist and inspiration for such being of course the episode Thirst and the fact that, up until that point, dark energon did not have any mutagenic properties only (in the show) being utilitised to revive the dead. What if, instead of being a side effect of dark synth energon, dark energon just... reactivated dormant pedipalps (remnants of a more buggy pre-metamorphosis sparkling/protoform lifestage)?

A more comprehensive look is down below- and don't mind how it's exclusively 'Cons lmao :P

Starting off, I referenced CYLAS' canonical pedipalps to try and understand the shapes being used which resembles a lapping type mouth that bees have (so considering there is a tranformers character named Bumblebee it feels appropriate but he ISN'T HERE), let alone the flexible proboscis which I just made as a siphoning type from butterflies which; this is the wikipedia image I used to understand mouth parts :P

Breakdown himself wouldn't need to open his whole face in order to consume energon, given that he has an opening and closing jaw in addition to having the dexterity and power of limbs and a neck to not require lapping, but energon is still drunk through the proboscis like a straw.

Continuing onto characters that would NEED their pedipalps, vehicons and other faceless cold constructs (whether you have the belief every cold construct is faceless or they recently shifted to facelessness to save on costs) by technically did not metamorphose like forged mecha and thus their mouth parts have not gone dormant. Instead, their construction means they have not known anything other than pedipalps and proboscis, having no experience at all with facial expressions and thus not susceptible to phantom sensations.

Though their jaws do not have joints or at least do not have an opening to function like an enclosed mouth, vehicons still do have one on the basis of having a neck and a location to store their coiled proboscis when not in use.

Unlike other cybertronians - forged or constructed - empurata survivors have their heads and/or faces completely remolded and restructured where they do not have a functioning jaw. They have in it's stead a reconstruction of the original pedipalps formatted appropriately to the new head mould.

Monoptics like Shockwave do not have enough room in their helms to have a mouth-like structure at all, instead the neck is reconstructed to open with the pedipalps; the proboscis when fully extended appears longer in monoptics but that is due to the fact the opening is lower and closer to it's base. Nulloptics like Soundwave have their entire face replaced by their mouth, often covered up in seamless panels that give the appearance of a screen, up until the nulloptic actually replaces the panels to include the electronics necessary to protect and display visuals.

In average adult cybertronians however, the pedipalps remain dormant - at least in their use for eating - and are instead used to produce vocalisations alongside the proboscis (which still remains in use by function of the liquid energon diet), in addition to being used in expression in conjuction with the many servos operating within the faceplate. The reason why, despite the variety of things pedipalps can do now that they aren't being used to consume fuel, that empuratas and constructs cannot re/gain a face with the same ability and level of complexity of the average cybertronian is because of the hyperactive function of those very pedipalps.

Vehicons can - if they so choose - express visually through the exclusive use of their pedipalps, but factoring in a faceplate with all of it's own complicated servos intricately woven into each other, the faceplate lacks the ability to split along the seams of the pedipalps and would restrain their mobility and prevent the cold construct from refueling. Empurata have a similar issue with the addition of their lack of functioning jaws and their modified head structure preventing the synergy of a faceplate. Nulloptics' heads are functionally all mouth so the corresponding faceplate cannot have features for optics or ridges, and monoptics' pedipalp expression is on their neck and thus a faceplate that matches where the mouth in their case would be a very bizarre choker-

9. worst part of canon

The worst part of canon in TFP except the fact there were money cuts, and director changes thus the series couldn't reach its full potential? For sure, facts not adding up sometimes. The info contradicting itself or being straight up illogical. Let me give you an example... When a new enemy drops in this series they are introduced like a Doom boss. But later on, while confronting autobots, they just evaporate with no effort from the opponent. Two vehicons at the beggining of TFP - Arcee and Bee couldn't fight them off for the half of the episode. Only when Bulkhead joined they actually retreated. Later on vehicons are dropping dead left and right with the slightest touch (I know there are theories about them pretending but it's still stupid). When the first insecticon appears, Megatron, the champion of Kaon, barely defeats the creature. On Cybertron Arcee cannot take it either, so it needs to be devoured by scraplets. Later tho, they drop like flies when hit by Autobots. Bulkhead can take 3 at once while being barely alive from tox-en exposure, and it is said they are the best insecticons in the grup. It's like the characters saw the new enemy, faced it while being underleveled af, and later they grinded behind the scenes, so now the enemies are just dying with a touch of their mighty finger (excuse my game comparison).

What is also annoying about TFP is the ammount of favouring towards Autobots while preaching that their enemies are very powerful. An example: Megatron is a menace, he is a monster, everyone is scared of him - gets his ass wooped every time. Starscream, the master of strategy, great commander deemed as unpredictable - would trip and die sooner than the enemy would reach him... Like, at least just state that Decepticons are dumb, so somehow their gigantic army with very dangerous general and leader, posessing unlimited energon supplies and a ship that can take them everywhere (that also has Soundwave on board) didn't win with 5 Autobots sitting in a cave, constantly starving, and stranded from their own technology. I know why they did it, it's more exciting for the viewer. But if 5 Autobots can best all of this, why didn't they just win the war earlier? I know we'd not have a show then, but it's still a bit funny when you'd think about it.

Next thing is that characters often forget that they can transform or have any abilities when the show needs them to lose the fight, even if they used said abilities previously when the show wanted them to win...

It's all very well-hidden behind the captivating writing and beautiful visuals, but mate there are problems. Anyway, it's still the best show in my book.

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

Airachnid - the queen! She's so interesting! I like what they did with her, her character, abilities, the fact that she collects species and just chills on her own in space, her unique transformation with spider parts. I'm surprised there is so little content about her. I myself have a bit of a problem with her, mainly because of my arachnophobia, and her spidering time... I just have a little block to make anything with it, but I love her nonetheless ;v; Her backstory would be something I'd gladly read about.

Breakdown - rarely seen without his hostile red car partner (affectionately) on fanarts. It seems as if fandom treats him like he was just Knockout's love interest, where I feel he has a lot of potential on his own. For example, his story as an ex-wrecker that got totally abandoned by the show alone. Him being much softer in character than other Decepticons and the fact he is one nonetheless. Very interesting to ponder.

Makeshift - the potential this character would have in this show... if only he wasn't taken away from us so early...

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

Decepticons having blue eyes before the war. So many people jumped on the bandwagon of this subjective af Ratchet's story... and then it appears that the creators made it only so the children would understand visually that this was the moment of Megatron choosing violence. It makes no sence in the lore, and doesn't correspond to other characters that have also different eye colors than just red.

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

Soundwave. Him choosing not to do anything except when he is directly asked to. Soundwave is like a half-god in TFP. He never fails, can move groundbridges at will, can teleport the whole army to the random moon on Cybertron... Why won't he just teleport Team Prime to the vulcano? Or to some trap to insta-kill them if he can do the same with the whole army of Insecticons and Airachnid? He kinda just looks depressed in his corner and seems like he doesn't give two shits about the war effort sometimes. He would do something when he's asked to, and if not for that, he kinda just idles in the background. Except that one time he brought back the corpse of Megatron from the orbit. And I know you can explain it in many ways but the trial of doing so with certain details is something I've not seen that much of. Mostly people just brush it off with simple "he's just loyal to Megatron" but some scenes could suggest different solutions, and finding more reasons for him doing what he does is very interesting to me.

Ive had a few days to cook and the tragedy of tma is fuckin killing to me. Its so satisfying from a narrative structural standpoint. Major spoilers for tma under cut

Jon dying was inevitable. Its a natutal conclusion for the narrative of the series. (Im too lazy to go into detail. Im hoping this is a well understood take.)

The most painful way for this to happen is if Martin kills him. Moreso when Martin is Jon's closest and most stable relationship. Martin is the only person who wants to see Jon beyond his flaws and mistakes, and Jon is finally appreciating that when Jon has no one else to lean on.

One of Martin's consistent standout characteristics is hes the most resistant to violent or drastic solutions. Its been made very clear over and over Martin's love for Jon is seemingly unconditional, even through some of Jon's more abhorrent actions. What the fuck would make Martin of all people finally decide to kill Jon?

Jon has ruminated about his own humanity so many times throught tma Im comfortable claiming Jon's greatest fear is losing his humanity. So much of what motivates Jon is how he perceived his own humanity in relation to his circumstances. A huge factor in the breakdown of his relationships is other characters (often justifiably) treated Jon like a monster. Jon eventually internalizes this mindset and preempts his interactions by treating himself like a monster.

So naturally, at the culmination of his character, Jon casually casts aside his humanity without even noticing or realizing hes doing it. Jon's hubris blinded him to his tranformation into the monster he was so afraid of becoming. With this final act, he condemns himself to death.

To me, this is hightened by the tragedy Martin suffers. That the smartest and kindest person in the series could have come out of this alive, if only he had not been in love with a selfish man.

Mini comic: Comfort

Bluesun doesn't like sitting in Breakdown's chest plate. Maybe she's just uncomfortable, or maybe she feels more comfortable closer to Bumblebee. She spent 16 long months in Bumblebee's womb and heard his sparkbeat, and she just feels safe with this feeling. No one knows for sure.

I added a small scar on Bee's throat, which remained after the operation back during the war. I have Headcanon, which is in the EarthSpark, Bee lost his voice box, but thanks to Ratchet, the mechanism was restored. And during the operation, Bumblebee lost a lot of energon and was on the verge of shutting down, Megatron was the energon donor, he thus wanted to prove his loyalty to all Autobots, not just Optimus. Megatron gained this trust, and the most trust he gained came from Bumblebee himself, who, having just woken up from surgery, weakly but clearly said in his own voice, "Thank you, Megatron."

Some of these shows i remember from my childhood

Strawberry shortcake, a classic, bluey, iconic, mlp, again, a classic, batman, if im not mistaken is pretty good, i dont really like the justice league show tho as theres only 2 body types: hypermuscular man and oversexual woman, Miss Spider, mwah, an obsxure but a good one, athena p also did a video on it (an adult breakdown on it which goes through the lore and other things),

LITTLE BEAR, UNDERRATED AS FUCK, such a good show, its pretty much childhood exploritive curiosity but its animals in a forest and there isnt like any actual danger besides like maybe getting stuck in a river, and being rescued but if there is fear like that its usually child unintelligentness (like thinking you can make it through a hollow tree and getting stuck) and the show pretty much ENCAPSULATES childhood, and its free on their youtube channel too, at least last time i checked

Babar is another good one, but if im not mistaken, its sorta like veggie tales where its technically a christian show but like its easy to ignore the Christian elements. Its really good tho, it was on Qubo along woth veggie tales, and it was really good, there was another one that ill say here that was also on it that was more directly christian but still had more general elements (like i remember on episode was two tribes on opposite sides of a fence and they always said the other sode was greener even when the mcs made them switch sides of the fence pretty much saying the grass isnt always greener on the otherside or whatever) and i only remember this thanks to the wikipedia article which it was called 3 2 1 Penguins which was really fun due to the actual animation part being about penguins going into space

Ive never saw monster high bc "it was too girly" or mom just didnt like it meaning i was not allowed to watch it but i heard it was good, mario super show, iconic, magic school bus, another iconic one

Two that are very slapstic but with no va but are still very fun is one called canimals, pretty much animals in a can that get up to shenanigans and is sort of like toy story where they try to hide the fact that they are more than just cans and Pocoyo its really silly but also really fun most of the characters are animals except the main main character

Then if you want a baby show that i used to watch (but is still pretty fun at least from what i remember) is called Animal Mechanicals im sorry that has a super catchy opening and overall it takes place on a buncha islands over a bottomless pit (but colorful) and the animals (i think one of them is completely made up tho) like can preform a Tranformers minus, that basically allows them to do some practical problem solving like one goes fast the other is like a technician and another is a... scooping... truck thing (forgor what its called) but yeah i think its still pretty entertaining, think of it like the Paw Patrol but less characters, no leader, floating over a void, and the characters are basically transformers... or toys however you wanna interpret it

The humankind despising warlord didn't need much convincing. He (something the entire crew on the Nemesis knew ) developed a soft spot for you after months of being accompanied by you.

Starscream had never seen his warlord this furious before, and that says a lot.

As soon as you asked him to pick you up, you bet that he ordered Soundwave to activate a ground bridge.

"Soundwave! Ground bridge. Right this instant!" The warlord stormed into the room, his servos clenched as he looked at his communications chief. The quiet bot activated the bridge, and gone was the warlord.

Would pick you up and most likely drive back to your place to make your family regret what they had said.

You, however didn't want to get caught as accomplice at the murder and decided to talk him out off it.

Would take you to your favorite drive- through for comfort food ( Something Knockout advised weeks ago )

"No one will ever harm you again, my dearest."

Breakdown

Anger, panic and worry.

This bot would be pissed at your family, panicking about your safety, and worrying about you in general.

"I've never seen him run that fast before." Knockout would stick his helmet out off the med bay, to see why his closest companion was running.

"Soundwave. Ground bridge, now!" The wrecker would be pacing in his place, anxiety rising each second.

Transforms as soon as the ground bridge activated, driving through it at high speed.

Breakdown would transform back the second he spots you, checking if you're okay. (Thankfully for him there were no other humans around. )

He'd ask you if you'd like your family to be taken out, after you got into his alt mode. He was however already making his way too your place.

It did take plenty of convincing that it wasn't necessary, but he eventually gave in.

"I'll make sure you're safe, my star."
