wisps of skunky smoke surrounded the air. swirling around, the clouds nearly a transculent grey color of whirly diminish; the aftermath of clearing out one's lungs from inhaling the sweet puff of marijuana.

you and your boyfriend had been sitting in the living room of the gallagher household for about... going on an hour, give or take. sneakers and boots kicked off messily by the door, snow that was once tracked in now melted onto the hardwood floor. you both had a bologna sandwich given it was the only lunch meat in the fridge, before kicking back to watch dr phill on the tv. reruns had been playing all night.

it was lip's brilliant idea to spark up a joint just ten minutes ago. he pulled it from his pocket, already rolled, slightly smashed at the end from being in his jeans for hours. after he straightened it out though, you two lit it up and lied back; passing it to each other.

light conversation was made — rather stupid knacks of ideas, from lip, and conspiracy theories, from you, because why not? that's what high people usually talked about, right? nonsense? you for sure did.

lip usually did not; he was more chill, relaxed. but for some reason his mind was more on a hazy strain that night.

“ sage, ” he hummed randomly, his chlorine eyes never leaving the television. the blue-purple glow of it beamed on the both of you.

you slightly coughed while releasing smoke from your mouth, only then passing the spiff back to lip, “ what? ” you wheezed out, confused by what the hell he just said.

“ sage. ” he goofily grinned, turning to look at you while he took the joint between his fingers. “ you're always wearin’ it. figured I'd call y’that. ”

your brows furrowed while you slumped further into the couch. “ like... the color? ”

lip snorted a laugh, slipping the end of the spiff between his lips. he inhaled, held in the smoke, then exhaled with a laughing cough. “ yeah, the color, idiot. th’fuck else would I mean? ”

“ dunno’. ”

“ you're a dumbass. ”

you gave him a deadpanned stare. “ your mother. ”

he paused. “ mm... ” only to shrug, “ true. ”

you both erupted in high induced giggles.

Ok i got idea for question totally not inspired by certain something

If you had to say what place your mind would be, how would you describe it? Like, meadow, city etc. Go wild, im asking for science

i have no idea what you're hinting at BUT thats a fun question!

I think it'd be like the inside of a space ship, with lots of windows and different rooms and corridors and shelves and closets full of stuff, cus like different types of thougths, imaginations, feelings and memories all feel different to have and recall, right? For example, diving into a deep, all consuming daydream would be like going into a pool and putting on a VR headset of sorts, cus the daydream is so consuming I dont notice the world around me (body in pool) and it's comlitelty life-realistic complete with ligthing, sounds, texture feeling, visuals in any style i'd like and shifts in perspective (VR). Remebering memories about life is like reacing into a box full of clutter while remembering facts and academic memories is looking thru books in a huge white library with transculent walls.

so yeah, isolated spaceship full of stuff. what about you?

What is the no makeup skincare routine of Alicia Keys?

So, after much erosion of time and memory, these are the parts I kept (with equivalent products):

Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water spray (keep in fridge, spray) (highly highly recommend. transforming. if nothing else this product changed me. I genuinely Do Not Understand Why but I try not to question it.)

Jade roller (keep in fridge) and add Vitamin C serum with caffeine (couple drops over roller, roll over face) -> the oil I get? but personally I think the jade roller thing is bullshit. Nevertheless, what it *makes* me do is a ritualistic ~paying attention~ to all parts of my face when otherwise I would just blob, swipe, go. And so it works because the roller means I moisturise every part equally instead of just putting a blob of oil on a cheekbone and walking away with a shiny nose and dry spots on the cheeks

Moisturiser base - Alicia's makeup artist's recommended one (a suncream) stopped being made a few years ago, the equivalent I found which gives same results (but not suncream) is Moo Goo's Natural Fast Hydrating Lotion, which has the benefit of also being a full body moisturiser so, less product on shelf = always a win

Add a tiny bit of primer or foundation to the moisturiser base, mix on hand before spreading on face. Again, Alicia's primer not available any more, the equivalents I found is 1) La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, or 2) my current preferred-> Primp and Prime from The Organic Skin Company

Exfoliate lips once a week, brown sugar

Some mask thing once a week (I used to bother, no more, vague memories of it, no material difference)

A La Roche-Posay lip balm which I tried to google and found it was just discontinued? SOB (literally the only lip balm I have found in my entire life that delivers lastingly non-dry lips. I have this in bulk in my wardrobe. My lips crack to the bleeding. I've had friends say, "oh, but dry bleeding lips are just your aesthetic?" This stopped once I found this product. I can actually wear lipstick if I want without the colour leaching into the cracks like those cracked desert terrain images)

Do peripheral details because they will stand out:

-Do eyebrows once a week, tidy stray hairs

-Do hairline once a week (depends on ethnicity/hairline, mine does filter down into the face-space)

-Use eyelash curler

and lastly, the "no makeup" bit I did have to laugh at and I don't do:

Actually *wear* makeup for the red carpet, comprising tinted primer, mascara, tiny bit of eyeliner, light eyebrow pencil shaping, transculent shiny stuff rubbed on cheekbones, and a very carefully selected concealer for the under eye bags and general real world pigmentation which exists on all skin

The only thing I've added based on other reading, which I also attribute to the aggregate contributing of fixing my previous 25 years plus of weekly skin problems and pimples:

Shave my face once a week using the Avene spray as my shaving 'liquid'. Chin, cheeks, moustache, around eyebrows, monobrow, hairline, all of it. Unspeakably good results. Tiny small facial razor. Razor goes over each piece of skin exactly once, slowly, and use a very very sharp razor so there is no repeated strokes.

(The Avene spray, jade roller + serum, and the strategy of adding teh primer/foundation to the moisturiser to thin it out/improve spread were the true original items IIRC; the rest have adapted over time.)

ok so basically:

purple text: “muscular insertion locations” pointing out insertions points for ears and antennae

to the left: “mantle patches (can shift with age)” and below that “Bands are like beauty marks & can shift with age)”

to the right: “(pointing at neck) indecent”. lower theres a quick drawing of a cut off limb, it says “If drained of blood: musculature becomes white/lilac”

As for the meat cube (the *s are reminders for me to type out explanations lawl):

uppermost layer is the epidermis/cuticle, despite painting it a color thats just for easier readability, its a translucent layer similar in function to plant/nematoda cuticles. Unlike plants its made of collagen, its probs a bit like serous membranes, it has its own basal strata from which it grows which is transculent as well

second layer: “photosynthetic layer“/dermis. here is where chloroplasts housed in specialized connective tissue cells reside. very rich in microvasculature, there are more components like equivalents to sweat glands but if i drew those it wouldve been too unreadable. also has its own basal layer from which connective tissue grows (i cant decide if itd be fast or slow replacement rate though)

third layer: adipose/subcutaneous layer, they dont store carotene in their fat so it is white in color. usually theres not much fat even in overweight individuals, instead theres fluid accumulation in this layer

fourth layer: muscular layer: its muscle, in some individuals it might even be the only visible subcutaneous layer. its natural color is white (think squid/octopus meat, in this case they use hemerythrin/purple blood which is colorless deoxygenated). it is connected to the skeleton via tendons.

Final layer: covered in “periosteum”, the final layer is the structural shell. its more flexible than vertebrate bone, closer to cartilaginous bone. the skeleton is not a “complete” skeleton like ours esp in limbs. limb structure is kept stable by muscular tonicity.

All the basal layers (bar the first) are the same color (dark purple), once again just different for clarity.

side note about my pokewalker and pocket pikachu: they’re both japanese models. the pokewalker is pretty much identical and is not region locked, the language of the text on the screen changes based on the game language you connect it to (yes, this means if you can find a non-english pokewalker for cheaper you should go for it) but the pocket pikachu actually Is region locked and fully in japanese… we just happen to have japanese gen 2 games so it’s fine. (i actually bought it for ayano since gen 2 is her Thing lmao)

additionally the basic pocket pikachu 2 in japan has the transculent shell, but the american one doesn’t!! we didn’t get that one so it makes it even more fun to have the japanese one around djdjjdks here’s a comparison of mine with the american one (image courtesy of serebii)

japanese ones came in a bunch of special edition colors and i’d love to have all four versions of it someday but ALAS they are EXPENSIVE even when shopping locally in japan and using a proxy service 😭

The flower was white with a soft shimmering pattern as if transculent jewels had been set in intervined lines over the soft petals. Smiling sweetly, charming venZiv handed Siri the flower that shimmered like a insects wing in all colours of the rainbow: "Tadaaaaa!" Then she continued mercilessly, although this time a challenging grin sneaked on her colourless muzzle: "-is actually just the fruitbody of the underground complex of that mushroom that stores the mushrooms kriffing spores, so what we all love to eat is actually just the fungis sexual organ-", Siri leaned forward again and grinning broadly, showing all her razorsharp teeth in all their not so soothing glory, the Tynnan leaned back in the same motion as she did her best to hold back her giggled:
