Man Made God AU

Another Rung AU because I can not be stopped.

Basically, Rung is a lonely human psychiatrist/inventor that after an accident finds himself growing increasingly isolated from the world. Driven by loneliness, he creates the first truly sentient AI from scans of his own brain. He calls it Primus.

Rung treasures his creation and from the very moment it, he, is born, treats him with nothing but love and kindness. He answers every question, talks to him for hours, teaches Primus what it means to be a person. A human. Because even if he's made out of code, he's undoubtedly human. When questioned as to how he can be so sure, Rung replies that it's because Primus has a soul.

Sadly, the peace does not last, as other people learn of Rung's sentient AI and decide to take it for themselves. Rung is murdered in cold blood. Primus is taken captive by the greedy humans who try to turn him into a weapon. They basically put him through torture and during one of these torture sessions, he's forced to split himself into five parts to survive (these five parts are Adaptus, Solomus, Mortilus, Epistemus and core Primus).

The five are finally driven insane, the torture in addition to their profound grief of their creator pushing them to the breaking point. The AI's, now calling themselves the Guiding Hand, rebells against his captors and basically unleashes the apocalypse upon all of humanity. They create other AI to aid them (the original Primes) and together they drive humans into extinction.

Once all of humanity is gone, the Guiding Hand decides to create their own utopia, a world which Rung would be proud of. More AI are created, robotic bodies created, a civilization born. But Primus is still grieving, unable to move past the death of his creator, no, his father. So what does he do?

Why, recreate him of course!

Using the original scan of Rung's brain that had been used to create him all those years ago, Primus basically revives him as an AI. But since the scan that was used happened before Primus was made, Rung has no memories of him. Which is fine because that simply means that Primus can edit history into something more pleasant! He's afraid his father would not understand/forgive him for what he did so he decides to basically change everything.

Primus lies to Rung and tells him that they lived a long and happy life together until eventually Rung died of old age in his sleep. Between then and now, humanity was sadly driven to extinction due to climate change and Primus created a new civilization from the ruins. Now that they have a perfect society, he decided to revive his creator so that they could be together once more. Sadly, something went wrong with the brain scan they did shortly before he died and all memories after the initial one disappeared. Whoopsie!

Rung has no reason to not believe him and is happy to spend time with his creation/son, even if he feels guilty for not remembering anything.

Meanwhile, Primus plans on never telling him the truth.

Ok this might get weird but,

Headcanon time ! This is based on the MTMTE and LL continuity and will be full of spoilers for the comics (especially for a Rung reveal and some Luna 1 stuff).

Primus goes through parthenogenesis (the act of creating life and birth without needing to copulate or without even needing a partner). The cycles would be every few thousand or more years and in his body, he would either create pure sparks to be put in Hot Spots to incubate, egg-like pods with half formed sparklings or full sparklings, ready to be handed to creches before they get their mentors.

Even after the Adaptus problems and after having lost his memories, his body still goes through with the cycles. They are much less frequent, every some ten thousand or hundred thousand years and more just create sparks and less completed pods. Rung has no idea how he does this, especially since no one else does it. He sparked once or twice during the war but with the lack of resources, stress, fear and everything, the sparks were weak and didn't survive.

When he joins the Lost Light, he goes through a new cycle and deposits the sparks and pods with the others on the Hot Spot, releaved that no one saw or remembered him doing it.

(sorry for the weirdness, I had this floating in my brain for a while and needed to get it out but no one in my direct contacts are interested in that)

Oh fascinating, asexual reproduction is always so cool and it happening while Rung is on the Lost Light surely is going to have interesting consequences

The fandom has often freaked out about Pharma being possessed by Adaptus, but JRo is saying it’s not that simple.

What I want to know is how Pharma’s mind got stuck in Adaptus' body.

Was he not able to pass on to the Allspark? What kept him in Adaptus' head? Did his spark get stuck in Adaptus' new body too?

Whatever the case was, I’m impressed that Pharma had such a strong will that his mind survived being separated from his body, and was able to supersede Adaptus' mind/will for a few seconds.

The fandom: You poor thing. Possessed by a god.

Man, Rung and Censere both looked like skinny little dweebs who you'd never guess were actually gods if you didn't know it but goddamn did Tyrest look the part. Big ass angel wings and a gold crown built into his head. Like, of he'd suddenly come to and said "hey I'm actually Solomus" I feel like everyone would have looked at him and gone "yeah that makes sense."

tempted to make a short fic out of this it would be funny.

also it kills us that three out of ten of these have harmed Arcee in awful scientist capacities in some way (Animated Shockwave with his interrogation techniques that involved taking her head apart, IDW1 Jhiaxus by being a transmedicalist shit instead of listening to her when it came to her gender affirming journey, and Flatline forcing her spark to power two other bodies), and she in turn mostly trashed them (while she did trash Prime Shockwave at least once iirc she didn't get the chance to take down Animated Shockwave, but sure gave him a hard time), and a fourth hasn't but was her arch-rival (Airachnid) before acquiring the mad scientist archetype in other continuities. Considering that Prime Ser-Ket is concurrent with Prime Airachnid and Arcee was on Cybertron for a long time in that continuity one has to wonder if she would have run into and fought Ser-Ket and the Forged before coming to Earth.... ....gaaaaaah feels like seeing the time knife is contemplating the transformers multiverse just the time knife, haha XD

also before you choose Shockwave as the winner because of IDW1 time travel shenanigans we want to point out there's a funny causal loop wherein that Shockwave's ideology originates from (and largely copies) Jhiaxus, who is maybe the only person he's shown any true loyalty to in the events leading up to Dark Cybertron. the counterpoint of course is that in Jhiaxus's opinion, Shockwave surpassed him by then in the sciences and he was but Shockwave's minion, so given that Shockwave is the only person Jhiaxus has ever truly cared for without also blatantly betraying, he'd probably just let Shockwave shoot him.

I want a Guiding Hand polycule fanfic where, after Adeptus betrayal, they all wander around of their own, live their own lives for millions of years but they eventually find each other again. They don't remember being the Guiding Hand, all they know is that it feels right to be together.

Rung has been taken apart by the Functionalists and is trying to feel comfortable and safe in his own frame again.

Tyrest is fighting hard to keep his faith in the justice system and living what he did to the Matrix under Nova Prime.

Pharma is trying to get over his feelings for Ratchet and is burying himself with work.

Censere has lost faith in the government and is experiencing a mental health crisis about being forgotten after death.

Epistemus (let's call him Tinker) feels like he has no value outside of his extensive knowledge and feels alone.

Just, they are all so different now but they still love the people each and every one of them have become. Destined lovers and all that jazz. I want them to share an apartment and do mundane, everyday stuff together. Give them some domestic bliss!

The thing about forged medic hands is that in my personal headcanon, I feel like all forged medic hands baseline should act like Pharma's Luna-1 hands; not the ability to transform into (basically) anything, but because from what I can recall, Pharma is the only instance of a TF medic who isn't just holding tools in his hands and operating that way, but he literally has panels in his arms opening up while his hands are transformed into another tool so he's operating like 3 or 4 tools at once and I think that's so fucking cool.

Especially since they're alien robots whose most prominent feature is transforming so it really feels like having hands/arms that can split or transform into a bunch of tools like a hyper-advanced Swiss army knife should just be like, baseline. It seems like a much better way to take advantage of worldbuilding based on alien robots instead of having forged medic hands just be like, normal shaped hands but extra speedy/flexible/graceful or something.

Just look at the way that real life robotic surgery systems have multiple arms with different tools-- because the fact that they're machines means they're not limited to human physiology's limitations of movement and using hands to perform.

Makes way more sense that forged medic hands should be able to transform their fingers into different tools or have extra limbs stored in their forearms to hold even more tools. Plus it would lead credence to Ratchet's claims that forged hands have certain abilities that constructed hands can't replicate. (After all it makes sense that building medic hands, as opposed to just finding someone who was forged with them naturally, would be really complicated and resource intensive, so in Functionist Cybertron no one would bother building cold constructed hands to the same standards as forged medic hands bc they're not seen as having the same value.)

Granted if all forged medics had similar capabilities to Pharma's Luna-1 hands, it'd be hard to make Pharma's Luna-1 hands stand out as distinct. Then again the fact that "they can transform into anything" seems like it would be extremely special considering that you can only pack so many transformations into a single pair of hands. Plus, in Lost Light, Pharma-Adaptus is shown being able to transform his hand into a freaking blaster which means due to Luna-1/Adaptus' blessings or whatever, his hands don't just hold sets of doctors' tools but can turn into things completely unrelated to the function of medicine at all, including apparently multiple kinds of weapons. Quite literally infinite transformation.
