The Chaos Protocol is so fun because Connie Chang has somehow mastered the ability to balance humour and darkness. Obviously it does lean more into being dark as it's a dark fantasy and all but it doesn't shy away from humour.

Sometimes they'll just be like "I was going to have Sing be a lot more graceful when doing this but sure you can throw your sister over a building!"

And other times they say "Xainan, what does your mother look like as you see her again?"

Keep in mind these both happen within 2 episodes of each other

Godkiller spoilers

I think the central tragedy of Suixin is that at the end of the day they learnt all of the right lesions....but too late. too late to ever approach the city of heaven, too late to make amends for any of their actions and ultimately....Too late to help Litany at least in that moment. They forged Litany into being a weapon and when they tried to help them Litany could only react as a weapon does. Despite being this incredible cultivator their life is ultimately one of waste.

It's a beautiful little minny tragedy played out in two episodes.

Here I go drawing on animating apps again. Anyways I have been listening to Transplanar rpg dnd stuff. Highly recommend. Pro going to draw Dragon-ish Vee. I’m on Arc 3 please no spoilers! I’ve been binging it. Prob, Some Hyperfixation? Idk Add thing. I have been listening to it almost non-stop the past almost 2 weeks. Connie is inspiring me to Gm a session. Baby’s first Gm moments~ Love you guys, your works that you’ve done. Amazing art, characters, storylines, everything.

So I just watched Honk Heist from Transplanar RPG and holy honk was it great.! Spoilers ahead

Some fav things

The fact that Val had worked so hard on honks and ended up as a duck is so unfortunate but it was so worth it

Cai, a goose, wanting to ride a horse and having a mini cowboy hat being stolen from him

Samms evil honky laugh (little scary but awsome)

Recent posting about popular dnd show reminded me to ask but do you know any good actual plays that you watch? Other than d20

Transplanar is good, literally anything with Jasmine Bhullar (Battle for Beyond, Coffin Run, etc) and Aabria Iyengar (EXU, Roll20 one-shots, The Seven, Fey and Flowers) is golden, Critical Fayle's Strahdcast is good (but if you're in a strahd campaign maybe don't watch bc spoilers!), and uh. I know you said besides D20 but for everyone that hasn't watched d20. Watch D20.

But no if you want like big epic long-running fantasy but well run and actually diverse than Transplanar will be your jam, Critical Fayle runs a good CoS, and Jasmine and Aabria have run several excellent excellent bite-sized campaigns and one-shots that I personally think are some of the most well-executed actual plays out there.

Fate and Doom & Magic and Muse

(designs are based only on the tcp recap doc and some of my own additions, not sure if it holds up with their descriptions on the show because I haven't gone back to listen for this)
