[looking at my 2 1/2 hour playlist for them] Boy, do I! If you wanna check out the full thing, it’s over here. It’s obscenely long, and there are some songs that’re a little too sentimental or silly...I tend to add songs that even just sorta remind me of them so I have something to draw to. And also worth nothing that I add/remove/rearrange songs in my playlists from time to time :’)

Some highlights if you don’t wanna go through the whole thing would probably be I Don’t Know Me Like You Do by The Low Hum, Who’s Gonna Stop Us by Steady Holiday, Roses Are Falling by Orville Peck, and Old Soul by Saint Motel.

in your ansxig parenting au, I assume riku is still friends with sora and kairi... have ansem and xigbar met them before? how did it go?

yeah he is! hes a useless bi, and eventually at school he ends up getting distracted by sora and kairi and his grades start slipping a little. as the resident gifted child, this of course sets of specifically ansem’s Hardass Parent alarm bells and after a bit of helicopter parenting discovers that his precious golden goose child has a crush...

xigbar knows better than to try and keep a kid from pursuing love (haha LOVE like some sort of DORK) and sora and kairi are reluctantly invited over to dinner. they're literally radiating light. riku is in awe. ansem is hissing. kairi’s got an attitude on her that causes her to start digging into the Obvious Supervillain vibes riku’s parents are giving off (”so they’re totally hiding some sort of superweapon under this house”/”kairi, stop!”/[xigbar cackling in the back]). vanitas started a rivalry with sora bc they have the same haircut (which in turn is modeled after a popular tv actor).

sora burps at the table once and ansem’s marked him as Not Good Enough for his son.

PREACH. like, the reveal that saix was awful to xion (partially) bc he was jealous makes it even less appropriate for him to be put in some kind of parental role... I dont mind the idea of them becoming pals at some point but "lea and isa inmediately adopt roxas and xion" is... eesh

Yeah! 

Like, I won’t mind Isa rekindling his relationship with Lea because they have much more history together, but all Xion knew was Saix and Saix was flat out abusive towards her. 

It puts a bad taste in my mouth how this series keeps pairing the girls with their abusers (Axel and Kairi, Xion and Saix, Namine in and literally everyone aldjhf...) with a vague “they made up! off-screen! just accept that theyre all friends now and there’s no hard feelings!!”

“Aw, well now…isn’t this precious?” Had Braig’s smirk been any wider, the top half of his head would’ve fallen clean off. He sauntered his way down the final few steps, trailing a gloved hand down the banister like a debutante. “Gotta admit it, Professor Doom-n-Gloom–didn’t think you had it in ya!”

Even inhaled a deep breath through his nose. He counted to ten. He exhaled slowly. Only then did he lift his eyes from his work. “I would ask what you’re rambling on about, truly I would, but I already know well enough that you’re about to tell me, so I suppose–”

“It’s just so…precious!” Braig repeated, the pitch of his voice spiking into a lilting mockery. “Look at the two of you! It’s a picture-perfect little science experiment!”

His eyes followed Braig’s slow, loping gait through the laboratory, keeping his face as neutral as he was able. He didn’t need to look over to know that Ienzo hadn’t looked up from his work; by now, he knew the boy enough to understand it took significantly more than an unexpected visitor to disrupt his concentration. It was for the best, really. Time was of the essence. His brow furrowed only slightly as he glanced around the lab, realizing how obscured Braig’s vision was by the piles and piles of research stacked on the table. “I’m sure we make quite the picture,” he muttered, dropping his eyes to seamlessly resume his work. “Do you have a purpose down here? Or in general?”

“Ouch! Watch it! You can’t be talking like that in front of the baby! You need to be setting a good example for the little scamp.”

That did get Ienzo to look away from what he’d been doing. Even was thankful that he wasn’t on the receiving end of that withering stare. He hoped–prayed–that Braig would be wise enough to refrain from commenting on the step-stool Ienzo had to stand on to see over the table. Of course he wouldn’t be (he never was), but it never hurt to hope.

Besides, if Braig got that close, he deserved whatever he got.

Even hummed in recognition as he continued his work, the corners of his mouth tightening further inward with each step Braig took towards them. “Oh I’m setting examples, I’m sure.”

“I bet. Man…seriously though, what is the smell down here? It’s rough.” Still undeterred, Braig approached the desk, lazily flipping through a manila folder laying open atop a stack. “Waitwaitwait, I wanna guess. Hmm. Bad smell…weird stains on the sleeves…something…eugh…something foamy dripping onto the floor…oh man, you making a baking soda volcano, little guy?”

Ienzo’s hands never stopped moving, though his eyes remained firmly fixed on Braig. Even wasn’t sure whether that impressed or terrified him.

“Man, who woulda thought–Big Bad Advisor Even, the spookiest and stiffest in all the land–standing here, making papier-mâché volcanoes with the lil’ guy.” He leaned forward on one arm, grinning up at Even. “Welcome to fatherhood, huh? Is it everything you’d hoped it would be?”

Under normal circumstances, Even might’ve snapped at him; however, these circumstances were not normal. He actually found himself on the verge of a smile, terrible in its knowledge. “Oh, everything and more.”

Snickering again, Braig heaved himself back upright, finally making the fatal error Even had been waiting for. He rounded the table. “So let’s see how you’re doi–what the f–” He sprung back as though he’d been jabbed with a hot poker, color draining from his face as he saw their workplace proper.

Even ran the scalpel down the line he’d marked, splitting the flesh easily. “Ah, fatherhood,” he sighed, sounding more self-satisfied than wistful. With his other hand, he waved vaguely to Ienzo’s side of the cadaver, where the flesh and muscle had expertly been pared away. “He takes after me, you know.”
