Idk what it is... but literally almost every cancer I've seen is always attractive and considered beautiful. Whether it be woman or man, or cancer sun, moon, or ascendant. They always tend to be physically attractive to most people. I read on one of @zeldasnotes post that whatever country has your asc sign as their Venus sign, you tend to be conventionally aligned with their beauty standards. I believe this to be especially true in America! Since Americas venus sign is cancer! maybe amelia hadn’t been too on the nose with her last song. she needed him to understand that she was done with him, for good. she wasn’t going to go back to him, not that they had ever been anything for her to go back too. amelia’s schoolgirl crush had been crushed when had drunkenly exclaimed ‘you’re an idiot if you ever think i’m going to love you back. you’re my best mate’s sister, that’s all you’ll ever be to me.’ what was it that they said of drunken words? they were sober thoughts, and as much as it hurt to admit it, she was an idiot for falling for him. but there was no reason for him to be so cruel.

perhaps the part that hurt the most was that he remembered none of his cruel words. to him everything between them was fine, and it pained her that he couldn’t take a hint, he just couldn’t take a hint that she wanted nothing to with him. it also didn’t help that right after that day he announced he had a girlfriend he had been seeing for over 6 months. she had been the other woman, not physically but emotionally, and that was just as bad.

she jumped as her phone rang, the familiar facetime tune breaking her out of her trance. lando’s joyful face stared back at her and she felt horrible for having missed the race. but in her defense she had been too tired to wake up early enough to watch it. she felt horrible but she hoped lando would understand, it’s not like she was breaking a promise.

slowly she reached for her phone to answer, and lando began screaming in joy. amelia flinched at his volume and noticed he was surrounded by other people, oscar being one of them, she could’ve sworn she saw lewis hamilton there too.

“p2!” lando shouted, “i got p2!”

amelia squealed, “congrats! that’s amazing!”

“oscar got p4! we’re literally on top of the world right now!”

“and congrats to koala too,” she smiled. oscar waved at her before someone snatched the phone from lando’s grip. amelia stopped herself from gasping at the sight of daniel ricciardo.

daniel smiled brightly at her, “you must be amelia, i’m daniel. anyways, we’re all dying to know is taylor dating fernando? have you heard anything?”

amelia laughed, “no, i haven’t heard anything. you'll be the first to know if i learn anything."

"sick," daniel claimed, "i like you baby holland."

daniel flipped the camera around to lando, the boy was laid on the floor, being crushed by alex albon and george russell who were cheering him on loudly. daniel turned the camera back around to him, "is that you're new best friend?"

"sadly, he is," amelia said.

"well baby holland, i'll let you go. i'm sure you're a very busy woman."

"i am," amelia agreed, "i'm currently in the studio."

"STUDIO?!" lando exclaimed, "new music? when? get off alex!" lando pushed alex off him as the brunette laughed loudly. lando took his phone from daniel, "when? tell me amelia!"

amelia simply smiled mischievously at him, "oh look, i have to go walk my fish!"

"amelia!" lando shouted as daniel's laughter could be heard as she hung up. her heart warmed knowing lando supported whole-heartedly. his friendship meant so much to her, and she was glad she had dragged herself out of bed the day before

All the mcbling babes are known for their hot and fabulous fashion style. From flare yoga pants to a hot pink tracksuit, mcbling fashion is a big staple in fashion history. Of course you don’t have to have name brand clothes to be a mcbling babe, but if you have the money and want some name brand clothing, by all means buy it! Don’t forget you may also run across some of these brands while you thrift!

Juicy Couture-

Founded in 1997, Juicy Couture is a staple fashion brand in the mcbling scene. Tracksuits in all different colors, daydreamer bags, and several different slogan tees are what Juicy Couture is mostly known for. Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton were two icons who were known for their love for Juicy Couture 💋! Juicy has its own website but please keep in mind that their clothing style and bags have had a major change (they were modernized 🥲). You can also find their modern bags and clothing in stores like Ross and Burlington! If you want to find vintage Juicy, I recommend you look on online secondhand shops like Depop, eBay, Vinted, etc!! It’s kind of hard to stumble across Juicy in in-person thrift stores but it’s possible!! (I still hope to stumble across it someday 🙏)

PINK-

PINK by Victorias Secret is Victorias Secret’s clothing line. It’s mainly known for its beautiful fold over yoga pants. The designs on the yoga pants range from animal print to rhinestone galore 💋. They brought some fold over yoga pants back, but nothing beats the original designs. You can find the originals on online secondhand shops or in-person thrift stores. I personally have gotten mine from Plato’s Closet, but keep in mind that Plato’s Closet is lowkey expensive for it being a thrift store 😭! PINK also had very cute short sleeve and long sleeve shirts that many mcbling babes cut to make off the shoulder tops! If you’re a hoodie typa gal, I recommend you buy their hoodies as well because they definitely were and continue to be the bomb.com 💋. PINK’s sweatpants were also very cute and comfortable! If you would like to buy yoga pants from the designs Victorias Secret brought back, you can find them in store or on their website. Here’s the link dolls 💋🩷:

Baby Phat-

Baby Phat was made by Kimora Lee Simmons (a true fashion icon). Kimora’s fashion shows were very iconic, and will always be remembered. Her fashion line gives more of a 90s-2000s vibe, but her jeans can spice up your mcbling look 💋. Her bottoms are super cute, and always have the iconic cat logo. Her puffer jackets are also a staple piece, and you can especially wear them in the winter for an ice princess look! You can find her pieces on online secondhand shops and you may find them in the thrift if you look hard enough!! (I’m talking even in the cracks of the Jeans section). Her bags are very cute as well, but if you’re going more for a mcbling-style bag, I recommend juicy couture or any other mcbling bags. The Baby Phat online store is currently still a work in progress, but you may still receive emails and a reminder when it’s done!

Miss Me-

Following the mention of jeans, Miss Me jeans are a brand of jeans that were very popular then and honestly still are now. Their rhinestoned designs on the back pockets are TO DIEEEE FOR. They come in all different cuts, fits, and rises (low rise, mid rise, high rise). You can find many Miss Me jeans at Buckle (either in store or online), but be aware that they are highly expensive (over $100 for ONE pair). You may find a pair in an in-person thrift store but they are pretty hard to find. Don’t let that stop you though, as you may find a pair or more the next time you go thrifting. Many 2010s celebrities wore Miss Me jeans and many mcbling babes wore them as well. If you wanna shop for Miss Me jeans that are less expensive, you can look for them on eBay, Mercari, Depop, etc.! Ed Hardy-

Ed Hardy is known mainly for its bags, hats, shirts, and jeans. Kim K rocked Ed Hardy A LOTTTTT during the mcbling era. Ed Hardy is still around and unlike a lot of other brands, has stayed true with their designs 💋. You can find Ed Hardy is places like Burlington, Ross, maybe even Marshalls! Ed Hardy has its own online store where it’s prices aren’t too pricey (honestly depends on your price range). If you would like you can of course buy Ed Hardy pieces from online secondhand shops (I KNOWWWW IVE MENTIONED THIS A LOT), or you can find them in in-person thrift stores. I honestly think the Ed Hardy brand will live on 4eva 💋.

They both had people tell them to slow down and get to know each other and we all know how that turned out. I’d say she’s back to where she started when they met but she’s not. She doesn’t have a blog like the Tig (it wasn’t big but it was something and it had a focus). Yes, she’s given out jam but that’s it, there is nothing else so far. ARO is just a website right now. Yes, her house is bigger, but if rumors are true, it’s not insurable due its location (fires and mudslides) and its daily maintenance costs have to be a drain. Yes, she has a title but no one cares about it except her. Yes, she’s more well known now but does not have a good reputation in several countries and most people just aren’t interested.

As for him, for as awful as he’s shown himself to be, he did give up pretty much everything for her. Again, it was a choice he made even after his friends and family warned him. I’m not surprised he’s floundering now.

I wonder if they’ve had moments of whether or not this marriage and all it entails is worth it. Sometimes getting what you wish for comes at a price.

I think Meghan still thinks everything she’s gone through has been worth it. Her life has completely changed - she has a $14 million mansion in Montecito, she’s besties with the Kardashians, she’s spent private time with the most iconic royal family, she has designer clothes, she has people working for her, she gets to talk about herself, she has her own Netflix show and a podcast, and she gets to travel for free around the world on other people’s money.

Remember where she was in 2015 when this started: a 2-bedroom rental condo in Toronto, a job she wasn’t very important in, Canadian socialite friends that no one in the US knew at all, mall clothes, a blog no one followed, she had to talk about work instead of herself, and she had to pay for her own traveling (which she subsidized through her blog that no one really paid attention to)a

Yeah, she also has money problems and a husband who doesn’t give two cents about the way he looks and smells (allegedly) and her kids are the subjects of some nasty conspiracy theories. But all that can be ignored with “out of sight, out of mind.” So she doesn’t really see this as consequences, the way you or I would.

She loves this life. She loves that people know who she is and she loves that we have opinions of her. It doesn’t matter if we love her or hate her, as long as we feel something about her. Indifference will be what kills Meghan; we see this in the way the BRF and Hollywood bigwigs are treating her. They’re completely indifferent to her and what she does and it’s fun to watch her scramble and beg for their attention.

Unlike Harry. Harry wants to be loved and respected. He wants us to fall over ourselves in worship and praise of his name. Indifference kills him too, but hatred and dislike are even worse. That’s what William does - he’s not indifferent to Harry, he’s actively staying away and making his dislike known by refusing to meet with him or answer his phone calls.

So Harry sees the consequences of this marriage much more than Meghan does because he has literally lost everything; he lost the status that made people respect him, he lost the friends that liked him, he lost a public that adored him, and he lost the family that loved him.

That’s why Meghan has to be really strategic with the divorce, if she’s the one who leaves. Harry has literally and metaphorically given everything up for her. She’s going to have a very hard time convincing the court of public opinion that she’s miserable being attached to Harry because of all that he’s lost and gave up for her.

I dislike the Kardashians as much as the next person, truly, but you can't deny that they have significantly shaped the 2010s regarding fashion, style and beauty standards. I suspect that in 50/60 years time, they wouldn't matter as individuals, but the brand and the rough image Kardashians will still be named as iconic for this era (even to all our shame). Meghan, however, will never be iconic. She lacks distinction and cultural significance. She thought that being the 'first person of colour marrying into the BRF' she would gain that and it would make her iconic in a historic sense. Unfortunately, she has overlooked that for that, she actually had to be both visibly POC and visibly and significantly in the BRF.

If she had chosen to stay, embraced her heritage visibly, like wearing a lot of POC designers, and maybe keeping her hair naturally (non-straightened) for some events with the Royal Family, she could have easily reached cultural significance over a longer period of time

Perhaps one of the worst defenses of JK Rowling, coming from people who don't give a shit about her but are nonetheless "defending" her and her right to hold an unpopular view, is that it doesn't matter what she says because she's just a stranger to you, and she’s a celebrity, and she’s not gonna fuck you and what does it matter what someone else thinks anyway?

It makes me think about why so many children’s books authors are women, and it's not because women love children more or have more of a child-like brain than a man. It's because men think that literature for children is inferior and therefore poses no threat to them and to their hegemony.

No, it isn't. There are no inferior genres, only inferior authors... as some of the world's greatest (female) authors demonstrate every day. Men also think that mystery novels are an inferior genre, hence why Agatha Christie was allowed to prove her genius in that genre, and in that genre alone.

Hopefully JK Rowling's genius has had an impact on the children who’ve read her books - in fact, we know she has, because it's been shown that her books make you less likely to become a fascist.

Moments like these are when men suddenly open one eye and start to worry that maybe they have allowed a vagina haver to have influence in how a whole generation of people thinks and feels about... everything, without male permission or control. I have seen the exact same thing happen to so many female writers before, and they're typically accused of a) faults that male authors are 100% guilty of, only when men do it it doesn't matter; and b) faults that are the diametric opposite of the woman’s values, e.g. if her book is against racism she’s accused of being a racist, etc. It doesn’t matter that it’s not true, it doesn’t matter that just reading the fucking book would tell you that it’s not true, all that matters is that a vagina haver is getting too powerful and people’s eternal hatred of women must be tapped into. It’s very, very easy and it never fails.

You'd think that people would notice the pattern by now, but in order for that to happen they’d have to think that women's rights matter. They never do. They just go back to sleep, always.

TL;DR if the reason why you think there's no reason to worry about JK Rowling is because she's like the Kardashians, a person of no substance who can't possibly influence others on any level deeper than fashion and frivolities, think again. A great intellectual who is avidly read by your children matters more than a fashion icon, just saying.

The reason why you shouldn't worry about this intellectual genius whose books have been read by over half the world is because she's a very good person with excellent values that anyone should hold close to their hearts. I tweeted abt this but i feel like i had too many thoughts for that format so i'll go here to expand 8)

I really disagree with this article asserting that the costume designers didn't get the Gen Z look down for Portia because she isn't going for the clean girl aesthetic or wearing skims.

For one, there isn't only one aesthetic that defines Gen Z, you wouldn't see a character from the 90s dressed in streetwear styles of the time and be like "they really missed the mark because they aren't dressed grunge". If anything, because of the development of algorithms on social media, the defining trait of Gen Z fashion is that a wide range of fashion subcultures rapidly come in and out of style. The implication from this article that a maximalist style with clashing colours and patterns is not of this generation is so off base. I definitely think her wardrobe choices support the character type of someone who doesn't know themselves well and follows trends which is why she dresses how we might expect someone her age to. I think the article kind of contradicts itself when it talks about her following trends from Gen Z while also somehow not dressing in a Gen Z style.

Also, idk if the clean girl aesthetic is even the most iconic style for Gen Z. The end paragraph too, saying she would look more obviously Gen Z with a skims dress on, I really disagree, I associate bodycon/shapewear way more with millennials, and maybe the oldest gen Zers. Who looks at the creative direction of skims, a brand promoting the Kim Kardashian look and thinks "Gen Z", I think Kim is very rarely a style icon for younger people now and is definitely not my number 1 association with that generation.

I think there's a lot to say/analyse, and even criticise about Portias costume design. But I see a lot of perspectives that say it doesn't look like something Gen Z would wear and i think thats just categorically not true.

Anyway rant over, very unimportant rant but I really did not understand the perspective this article was coming from :p
