So a comment under one of pmd2’s ost songs may or may have not rewired my brain a bit to assign certain instruments to a certain three.
#pmd eos#pmd2#HONESTLY KINDA WANNA FIND VIOLIN ONES CAUSE IT DOES FIT DUSKNOIR TBH…#perhaps maybe that’s his instrument change when he’s going through the motions of redemption in Ep5#also wanna add and mention that I enjoy how more inexperienced and childish the xylophone is compared to the flute#like how Partner isn’t Quite There in terms of skill compared to Grovyle- but they have the same strong will and resolves#(It’s how I view ‘Through the Sea of Time’ and ‘in the Hands of Fate’ majority of the time)#and also the bittersweetness yet hopeful sound of the flute; and how that ends up being the ost’s main instrument of choice near the end#of main game (and just in general of how it fits Grovyle to a T)#I already explained the Trumpet before (and others explained it better than I have)#but to repeat: the Trumpet is loud; it demands attention and respect.#(And also a main instrument during funerals of unyieldingly loyal soldiers/weapons (AHEM.)#JUST. I finally sort of understand why it feels weird to tag things on Instagram and not so much on tumblr, and it's because on tumblr tags are used for organizational AND attention purposes. Meanwhile on Instagram it's only for attention. There's no other reason to tag stuff. Sure you can organize little nooks and highlights and direct people towards certain tags, but you can't just search your Instagram posts on your profile by tag, or click on a tag on someone's profile and be led to all the instances of that tag there. And idk I think it just makes me feel weird.

am finally back home and can say without a doubt that i am just fundamentally not built for long distance travel however the train was much nicer than planes
#that being said. pressurized cabins drive me insane a little bit#and also it gives you pretty intense sea legs for a While#like. the ones from the first trip hadnt gone away by the return one. so. might be stuck with that for a few days#we shall see#also ajr live fucks severely#the albums were already incredible but that was a goddamn religious experience#like. idk the way i think abt it is theyre more djs than a regular band esp w their performance showing the making of way less sad#like their music is very electronic‚ theyre making mixes of their own sound effects more than singing in one go#so like. the vocals were a teeensy bit rough at times#notably times it has taken me Literally Hundreds Of Hours Practice to be able to consistently sing along with#and times ive found its literally physically impossible to like. no matter what#idc how big your lungs are‚ there is no human on earth who can do that final run of karma in one breath#much less to An Entire Stadium After An Hour Of Jumping And Dancing And Singing Loud As Fuck#so like i dont blame them for that‚ you dont go to live shows expecting it to be 100% perfect anyways jwbdjsbfksb#the trumpet however. well she was certainly playing sometimes. and was very enthusiastic about her flares.#however. in most of their songs they use midi trumpets to my ear at least#meaning she was likely an addition specifically for live performances and in my personal band kid opinion#prooobably was not in any of the like. higher tier bands? idk just. a lot of the mistakes she was making were hitting as stuff that got#taught out of us the instant we joined any band beyond regular concert#so i would guess she was probably just like. a friend who happened to play trumpet in high school or maybe even just middle school#and they knew that the trumpet parts in their pieces were big and distinct enough that like they /had/ to get a live player#and just kinda. didnt anticipate the audition -> performance gap#like. her tone was really fried the whole time like she was playing as hard as possible#which. she was mic'd. have the sound guy turn her up.#the way they did it made it sound like she was using a mute but not. like she only got the bad parts of a mute from it yknow#her tempo and timing were. bad. theres no nice way to put that one it just Was Bad‚ like the trumpet runs in ajr songs arent. complicated#like. quite literally if you handed me the sheet music right now i would have it down perfect in a week at absolute most#and better than that player on sightread. like. we did so many sightreading drills.#like ill share my band kid creds if anyone cares but i need to emphasize this isnt me being braggy like. they genuinely just arent hard#fuck im out of tags. w/e i think only like one of yall also listens to them anyways so i can leave it there

I stg every time I lay down to, the big ass stereo guy decides "ahh now is the perfect time to be an asshole 😌" and starts
Usually it's like 2pm-4pm that he's out but today nothing... until 5:45pm when I was TRYING to take a fucking quick nap... 😑 I'm gonna throw hard boiled eggs at his house I stg
#marquilla#his stereo gives me a migraine every goddamn time hes out#and i dont wanna be the asshole neighbor thats like hey you cant ever play that/youre too loud (daily) during non-noise ordinance hours#so you're technically not doing anything wrong youre just annoying me... and like be a jackass#especially since i dont do that when the other neighbors are having a family party outside bc again it's between 8am-10pm they#are allowed to be loud it just annoys me and hurts my brain#so when the weather is warm and i can garden im gonna play my trumpet and learn to#my excuse for doing it outside 'oh my family doesnt like me playing inside' not 'im trying to pavlov you into stopping bc i WILL be playing#badly in hopes you go away'#it's not even that i can hear his music it's that it's all bass which at that level i can feel and it hurts and i hate having to wear#headphones in my own house#like growing up my nextdoor neighbor would play polka for hours every goddamn sunday and we just dealt ofc even if it got old FAST#and the neighbor next to him would play the radio when they'd have parties and we'd play ours when outside (god help my neighbors when i#was into hsm and only played that all summer for two years) point being i understand it's just part pf being in a neighborhood#the problem is the bass penetrating my skull :( so enjoy Embouchure Badly in C Sharp my dude#im gonna pavlov this man#<- the tag to block (or track lmao)
