H&M Banner improvements

A somewhat odd creation from me, but! I have been really enjoying posing and creating poses, and in that process it dawned on me that it would be fun to have pictures of actual Sims in my clothing stores instead of the semi-ugly stuff that EA gave us. My friend at @kashmiresims was kind enough to pose out a bunch of her lovely townies for some recolors, but when I went to recolor the banner I discovered EA made the texture square. And to fit the Sim in that square, they chopped the legs off and placed them horizontally. I refuse to continue this folly, so off to fix it I went! I have three things for you today :)

1. A default replacement of the original banner, with improved mapping so that the texture is straight and easier to recolor. It was 256x256, now it is 128x512 so same total amount of pixels, it is just long instead of square. I've included redone versions of the original recolors, so they will look the same. However, if you had other custom recolors, they will be broken. Sorry, can't do anything about that unfortunately.

2. I made an add-on mesh that hangs lower because I find the original sits too high to be easy to use in most stores. It is repositoried to the original. Required the default, mapping will be wrong if you don't use the default.

3. 10 additional recolors sporting various sims from the lovely region of Kashmire, coming to your hood with their newest ad campaign. Seen in a store above, swatch below.

Installation instructions: Default file goes in zCEP-EXTRA folder in your documents The Sims 2 folder, recolors and add-on mesh goes in Downloads. Can place default in downloads too, but you won't be able to make recolors.

Favorite color: UMMMM...I don't have one. They're all neat 8D.

Last movie: HM, I'm not sure. Recently if I'm watching something it would be rather a TV show or even anime (finally tryingto finish Gintama after 13463 years). Let's say the last movie that I watched was...OH! Ok, I needed a moment (and a post edit, I wanted to go back to the title and I forgot to fill the blank after posting :'D) - it was Venom 3 and it was very meh, but it's okay ^^'.

Last book: naah, let's not count that. It's been probably 3 years since I've finished a book. It was a sci-fi book for sure but I don't remember the name. It was enjoyable, I made a pretty good playlist to listen to while reading it :D. Rn just some fanfic from time to time.

Get to know you: Sims Style

What’s your favorite Sims death?

In general: the satellite, cuz of the piano replacement that I have. It is also one of the most efficient ways to cull townies.

Specific deaths that have happened to my sims: Tiara dying in a toddler potty. No death in my game has ever/will ever be funnier.

Alpha CC Semi-realism or Maxis Match?

Semi-realism. Maybe it's cuz I started playing when that was the common style, but maxis match just looks very ... flat to me? Very papery. I've seen it done in a really fun, cartoon-y style by some creators, but that seems to be the minority and most of it seems to hew very neutral/natural toned and I am not about that lol. Even IRL, I like to surround myself with bright, colorful stuff.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Like, keep them thin? lmao no. I let their personality determine whether they exercise, but that has nothing to do with them being fat, as far as I'm concerned. I use a lot of fat bodyshapes because I'm fat myself and I like to have a lot of variety in my game. I don't have any system for deciding whether I use the maxis default body or a custom shape, I just go with what looks right to me.

Do you move objects?

Favorite Mod?

Hm, either ACR v2 or Walk Through Blocks. I like my sims to be able to make as many autonomous decisions as possible, and navigate the spaces that I cram full of clutter.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

In the Sims 1 the first expansion I got was Hot Date. I played TS2 from release, so my first expansion was University.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Alive.

I mean, it has to be Mawreen, right? If only for the chaos that she's sown.

Have you made a simself?

Yeah a few throughout the years, and I haven't played them in ages. Mostly I just use them for silly little pics with @skulldilocks's selfsim.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

One of the custom ones, I guess! I don't remember, I have all the EA hairs hidden lol.

Favorite EA hair?

I don't have one, really. Maybe some of the natural black hairstyles converted from TS4 but I couldn't name specific meshes.

Favorite life stage?

Adult! I made a custom aging mod so I can go through the other stages relatively quickly. The way my game is set up, they unlock all their traits and wants once they're an adult, and I like to see who they are as a fully realized person, so that's the most fun for me.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Gameplay. I have a lot of fun making houses based on real floorplans that I find, but it's mostly just stage dressing for the little freaks that inhabit them.

Are you a CC creator?

Yeh.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

I mean, @skulldilocks obvs. People don't approach me much so there's only a few ppl that I talk to regularly like @furbyq-sims and @lilithpleasant. I am not really the "squad" type.

Nope! I would never stream gameplay, the way I play isn't interesting. Lots of pausing and carefully adjusting angles to take pictures, getting distracted by other stuff, random crashes, etc. And editing that footage into something watachable would take ages. My play style lends itself better to picture entries, so I use Dreamwidth.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

More colors, more aliens, more [[JAM FACTORY]] lore.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

@skulldilocks no question! I love watching her create anything for any game or craft. She's so talented. It doesn't matter if she's making sims cc or custom houses for Skyrim or doll clothes or anything else, she's my biggest inspiration.

I have a tutorial here. I need to update it because I use different actions now, but most of the actual information there is still accurate.

I want to say pets because I love cats so very much, but in terms of actual content, probablyyyy FreeTime? I like anything that makes sims more unique and the hobby system is a lot of fun!

i think the way we still know almost nothing about oremeru as a person. odd thing to say about a character but we know his motivations for taking over for his brother and can theorize about some aspects of his "true" self but in reality he's still such a mystery and i want to know more about him. i have high hopes for the new event.

PASTEL B BROTHERS i'm so excited they canonized an in universe name for him and kohaku. they're so cute together and ohhhh kohaku being not a kaname replacement but oremeru being more emotionally aware of what teenagers want/need out of the adults in their lives and trying to do his best but not wanting to give up his act. the way kohaku said that himeru will softly smile as he helps kohaku with stuff in the main story when they think crazyb is going to be disbanded and how they're all family despite only knowing each other for a short time.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more

another madara answer but partially bc i wonder what he really thinks about double face's activities when they were active. we saw niki's perspective on that but given himeru's past. i do wonder how he would treat madara knowing the full extent of those activities.

this is more about crazyb in general but the fact that there are still people who think all of them need to be "saved" from rinne is insane. all of them have the ability to just fucking leave. himeru had a solo career before this he can find a new unit if he really wanted to. they're there because they want to be. if you like all of a unit but one member and think they suck then you do not understand that unit's dynamics sorry everyone is in their current units for a reason.

i am on the worse part of tes2 ps2 for that. Im not fully engaged with uh sim anticts but yes this is one of the 3or4 lots where the main goal is to get people laid. most people on gaia know im pretty against it in public settings online so theres a part at like the later half where my sim's gf gets in the heartub hottub and I was gonna go do somethnig, but I audible just *UUUUUGGGHHH* "I have to go join my sim gf in the hot tub even though I dont like her much anymore, I'd move on from her but I need the Friend point"

-proceeds to click the button that isnt woohoo and is just 'play around in hot tub' and then go look at the other 2 who hector wants to go to pound town and cheat on his lover with like 2 other sims and his lover wants to get together with the captain. i have no idea how their relationship works, im tryna survive as Im dealing with build mode limitations being hella high on the level easily starting multiple fires 

so rn Im in the wedge cause I usually just power level out of this place but its the first time Ive devoted more time to ts2 on the consoles since I was a kid.

Your aspiration: Probably Rennaissance Sim, for ts2, I'd choose "Reach Maximum Enthusiasm in 5 Hobbies" from the 50 LTW mod. (becuase gods we needed more options I refuse to choose from the vanilla ones.)

Favorite townie(s): The Villareals or the Vatores and Morgyn from ts4. TS2 uhm.... oh man it's harder to choose. Alexander Goth, Ripp Grunt, and Angela Pleasant. probably. I'm not set on those though.

Most used pack(s): ts2 is pretty equal since there's not as many. the only one I don't really use at all is bon voyage. Something you want in the game: eh, I don't think about it much for ts4. a proper city pack? probably. ts2? there's plenty but it doesn't matter. a more in depth mod that allows drinking/drug use with actual effects. (there is one, I just wish it was more than it is.)

I usually don't let these situations irk me because they pop up every so often and I don't have to give you my money so I don't, but between this and asking that creator to take down their TS2 conversions. She's getting to me. The only people who wait until after Christmas to buy Christmas decor are the ones who have an idea of what they want the next go around, are frugal, and know they can get things at a steep discount come December 26th. This does not apply in the Sims. Will there be a discount after Christmas passes? No. You can celebrate Winterfest anytime. True. So then why not drop this in October? Who in this community is really doing Christmas posts or lookbooks after Christmas has passed? "How's going to purchase Christmas items in October before Halloween has even occurred?!" Plenty of players? People who like to plan out things in advance? People who may not have the time to sit in-game due to the holiday season being so hectic, work, going home to see their families, spending time with friends, etc. But would still like to share the shoots and lookbooks they've created and actually have the time to do that. Not only that, it's the holiday season. People are strapped for cash around this time of year, and prices are increasing in certain expense areas. It's absolutely fine to release something on your Patreon early for those who are willing to pay to have it and have it free before Christmas for those who don't pay, and those who can't. None of this stuff is required for our gameplay, it's there to make it look better, but I think it would have been a nice gesture.
