I just found out yesterday that there’s a Gakeun Alice cafe running until October, and the key visual is so beautiful! 

Idk what tumblr’s hot take on this animanga is but I have always loved this series so much, despite it’s flaws AND THAT ENDING, it’s still such a favourite of mine. Nobody else has been able to pull off the emo boy x perky girl trope as well as Natsume and Mikan, they are THE og. 

Also this new art is so cute?

I mean I wish they would’ve included Misaki and Sumire too, but this itself is quite pretty and made me so happy. 

Tsubasa and Misaki’s relationship was so perfect and it was so healthy (compared to all the other relationships in the series it was like the champion of healthy relationships olympics💀) and their dynamic is something that I always take inspiration from when writing older TyHil.

God it’s criminal how they never animated the rest of the story because they made the mistake of advertising it as a kid’s show and then Higuchi sensei made it TOO DARK TOO FAST 😭💀

When I started shipping them: what kinda sicko didnt ship them instantly as soon as he opened the sa class door???

My thoughts: friends to lovers supremacy. somehow mutual pining with a side of "id never date him hes the worst." i rly think they have something special and am very happy they ended up official!

What makes me happy about them: i love their bickering moments. one of my top 10 panels of ga (this list gets remixed often and also doesnt exist) is during the xmas arc when he holds onto her arm and shes like "can u not touch me with the hand that just holding ur greasy chicken thanks." they are superior friends to lovers

What makes me sad about them: tsubasa didnt go with the sa class to see misaki during the escape arc. like i get it but also come on i wanted him to go see her

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: i am just happy to see them tbh beggars cant be choosers

Things I look for in fanfic: theyre usually there and usually together. thats really enough for me im sorry.

My wishlist: i wanted to see more of them. they are really so cute. if they had just been more focal id probably ship them harder ;-; rip me

i give you tsubasa ando! his alice is called shadow manipulation and he has the ability to control people through their shadows! he is one of the upperclassmen and is just so playful and nice *insert heart eyes* he usually has a beanie on and hangs out a lot with misaka and i like to believe that those two are mikan's (the main character) mom and dad bc they give off those old married couple vibes and practically adopted the little girl lol

Natsume was on a mission for the academy when he ran into an Alice user from Z Organization.

This person had a de-aging Alice and managed to hit him when he wasn’t looking. A cloud pink smoke surrounded Natsume and the Alice user took this chance to flee.

Tsubasa and Nobara instantly ran to Natsume , however when the smoke cleared there’s was a three year old looking up at them.

Nobara instantly worried on what to do, Tsubasa however couldn’t stop laughing long enough to reply to her concern.

Tsubasa had tears in his eyes from all the laughter and took out a camera. “Oh everyone is gonna get a kick out of this!”

Natsume looked at him with a glare and immediately started to cry. Nobara took the camera out of his hand and yelled at him that they needed to get back to the academy.

Tsubasa ended up carrying Natsume back to the academy even though he would punch , and cry and burn any thing he could get his hands on , including Tsubasa’s hair.

“Hey brat! If you don’t settle down I’m handing you over to Narumi - Sensei , I’m sure he would love to see you like this.”

Natsume immediately stops fighting , but glares at him the rest of the way back.

Once they get back to the Academy , Persona and the rest of the staff is notified about Natsumes situation and he is taken to the hospital to try and figure out a solution.

However , they say it will wear off in time so until he goes back to normal he is taken to the child dorms where he can be looked after.

Luca finds out the news first and runs to where Natsume is , he finds him playing with Yōichi and can’t help but smile at the scene.

A flash is seen behind him as Hotaru takes various pictures to sell and you with heart eyes as you look at the two babies playing.

“How did you guys find out!?” , “Stop don’t take pictures!” Luca yells as he chases Hotaru through the building.

“Narumi - Sensei told us to come checkup on him.” You say as you crouch down to Natsume.

“Hey there! Wanna play with me to?!”you say excitedly , however Natsume just stares at you and starts to pull your hair.

Narumi sighs as he walks into the room, of course Natsume couldn’t be an innocent and peaceful baby.

Sensei picks Natsume up and uses a tiny bit of his Alice, “okay , that’s enough now 💗 be a good boy and go to sleep.”

Natsume falls to sleep in Narumi arms. He hands the peacefully sleeping fire starter to you and tells you to take care of him for the rest of the night.

You watch as Natsume sleeps , a slight smile is on his face. You can’t help but smile at the sight and take him to your dorm.

Your alarm goes off and you turn in bed expecting to see baby Natsume cuddled against you, but instead Tween Natsume is infront of you.

His eyes are still closed so you go to poke his sleeping face , but instead his hand catches yours and his fiery eyes open.

“Um Natsume!! We need to get up, we have school!!” You say embarrassed as you try to get your hand back.

“Hm.”

“What do you mean ‘hm.’” , “I’m not staying here with you pervert.” You scream with a blushing face.

“I’m not the one who took advantage of a baby.” Natsume states with a smirk and jumps out of bed.

“I did not! Your a liar! Take it back!”

Natsume just stares at you with a smirk before he leaves the room and leaving you flustered and embarrassed.

“Today is going to be a long day.” You sigh as you get out of bed.

Sarah, you used to read Gakuen Alice right? I just reread it and man, what a journey! Rereading it as a young adult somehow make the manga more relatable to me? lol but i'm curious, what do you think of both Natsume and Mikan in GA?

I did, but I don’t think I ever actually finished reading it XD It was really cute though, so I might just go back and re-read it. There are a lot of manga from my childhood that I’m planning to read, because some of them were really good shit OAO

As for what I think about those two…..

Mikan is an absolute gift to this world. She’s adorable and sweet and cheerful and I love her to bits and pieces.

But Natsume Hyuuga….ehh, not so much? I mean, I used to like him a lot when I was younger, but now that I’ve read so many more books and manga and stuff, he’s just….the same, tired old cliché that authors and mangaka just love to use over and over and over and over. And I’m just sooo tired of it. You know? The dark, moody badboy type with a troubled past who likes to pretend he doesn’t care about anything but is strangely drawn to the cheerful and bubbly main girl? It’s boring >_> Honestly, Luca is WHERE IT’S AT. He’s absolutely fucking adorable, and sweet as hell, and I love him to bits and pieces.

They’d be cute as a couple when they get older, though I’m not really too into that. I mean??? They’re 10? Why does there need to be any romance at all?

I prefer the family fluff ^^Like man, I don’t know if I’m remembering wrong or projecting or whatever, but wasn’t Narumi gonna adopt Mikan? Because that would be the sweetest thing ever omg. And I really adored the way Tsubasa-senpai looks after Mikan like an older brother. It’s really sweet ^^

But anyways, yeah, sorry, I didn’t mean to go on for so long XD I’m surprised I remember so much about the series O.o Though please keep in mind! It’s been over 10 years since I last read it, so my deepest apologies if I’ve misremembered anything! Feel free to correct me!
