dog had an abscessed anal gland. She didn’t scoot or anything, just started looking a little unwell, which I assumed was from eating horse toenail clippings and freshly-strewn streetside chicken bones (WHO is scattering chicken bones). It has been a really wickedly rough few days. The first crummy emergency surgery was next-day revised, she had one good healing day, then she wormed out of the cone in the night and licked it. Had to go in again. She is only sort of okay rn. Hopefully they improve overnight (the extra holes in my dog’s butt). I am ointing her.

Actually that's what was always bothering me about chess in the sims. Not only did they only bother to animate one game, not only are the pieces poorly rendered and plain ugly, but it's also non portable!! It always has to be a friggin table bolted to the ground!!

This is an outrage. Chess has always been one of the most portable games in real life. A look of a person carrying a folded chess board that serves also as box for the pieces is a classic one, the sound of wooden pieces clacking in that box is so asmr-esque pleasant. It's a favorite type of guy.

Maybe it's because I'm eastern european, but to me there is no bounds for chess. People play on any surface available and sometimes with none! People play on benches in the park, on the ground, holding the board literally up in the air and keep going.

And I know sims have animation and pathing limits but it shouldn't be that hard technically to make them be able to whip up a board at any table that they can sit at, and if the second chair is placed opposite – another sim could join. And if not, a sim can just ponder moves or solve puzzles on their own quietly. I mean, I play at a coffee table but yeah that's probably too sophisticated for a franchise that *checks notes* charges 40 bucks per expansion.
