Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag part 16
Tumblr media
So I didn’t continue on with the main plot but I did get some stuff done. I found a buried treasure on Tulum, followed James Kidd to a Mayan door that is where I am to put the stones I found. Then I went and took on the next areas fort, did a Naval Contract and some Assassin Contracts, and explored some islands for treasure. Not a bad day.
Tumblr media
I almost left without getting my buried treasure, but I saw my notes next to me about the treasure map that was coordinates 70,405 which was here in Tulum.
Tumblr media
It was easy enough to find because the row boat on the shore. I just had to find the big tree and there it was right in front. I opened it up for some money.
Tumblr media
I noticed that James Kidd was still by the coop and I spoke to him. He said he had another secret to share and said to follow him. As we walked, Kenway asked how long he had been an Assassin and Kidd said for a couple years now. He had met his mentor, Ah Tabai in a Spanish town and there was something about him that he trusted.
Tumblr media
Kenway then asked if Ah Tabai created this group and Kidd explained that Assassin’s and Templars had been at war with each other for thousands of years. He continued saying that the Natives of this New World had the same Philosophy like their Creed so when the Europeans arrived they combined together.
Tumblr media
Kidd was continued to say that Cultures and Religions and Languages divide people but there’s something in the Assassin’s Creed that crosses all boundaries. A fondness for life and liberty.
Tumblr media
We had continued walking up the steps up into a Temple and I followed Kidd deeper inside until he showed me a wall. He said to put the Mayan Stones in the slots. There were a couple dozen.
Tumblr media
Kenway asked what he will get for his effort. Kidd said Respect from the people in Danger here for one. But also there was a treasure behind that door that is centuries old. He said that if he made the effort in finding them it would be worth it.
Tumblr media
Kenway asked if he was going back to Nassau and Kidd said if he had a Contract there then yes, but this place was his home for now. And that was the end of that.
Tumblr media
With nothing else to do, I set sail and headed for the nearest island which turned out to be Arroyos. The first thing I did was fight the thugs at the Tavern to unlock it.
Tumblr media
Then I went to the Harbor Master to upgrade my ship’s ram strength. I need to keep it updated.
Tumblr media
The next thing I did was to sync the Viewpoint so I could find the treasure, which I did. All that was left was some Assassin Contracts.
Tumblr media
I went to the Coop and took on an Assassin Contract for “Tomb Raiders.” It said that a group of British graverobbers were active in the area looking for cemeteries to ransack. I had to put a stop to it.
Tumblr media
The contract wasn’t on the island so I had to set sail to a nearby island calls Pinos Isle. But it was blocked on either side with Frigate ships. I engaged with just one by shooting mortars at them until I could board them and take it over. No damage to me at all.
Tumblr media
I then sailed into the area and disembarked to try to find my target. The place was full of Mayan structures and I had to sneak around, as an objective, but I was found out so screw it. I just killed anyone who came across my path. I then had to find my target which I found ordering the guards around to look for treasure.
Tumblr media
I then rushed at my target and killed him, thus the contract was complete. (Assassin Contract: Tomb Raiders - Complete). Now it was time to explore the area. I mean, I was already here.
Tumblr media
I climbed the structure that I had killed my contract and synced the Viewpoint to reveal the treasure. I then went around collecting chests and animus fragments.
Tumblr media
I even found a Mayan Stone where I had to match up even more objects than before. One was even laying down. Then I got my stone.
Tumblr media
But there was yet another one near the shore. The totem was up on a cliff looking down with another laying down object. Once it was matched up. I jumped down grabbing the last animus fragment on the way down and then grabbed the Mayan Stone.
Tumblr media
With that, Pinos Isle has been pillaged.
Tumblr media
I then set sail again and I noticed there was a fort nearby so I headed toward it. I was in Traveling Speed and I caught a pic of a whale jumping out of the water. How cool is that!
Tumblr media
I made it to Castillo de Jagua and engaged in combat. There were ships around it, but just gunner ships that I didn’t really pay any mind. They weren’t doing much damage. But once I destroyed the defenses, I took out the ships in the way.
Tumblr media
I raided the fort, took out the two fort officers and the Commander and took over the fort. Fort Castillo de Jagua was now ours.
Tumblr media
With it now under our control, it revealed the area with the treasures on small islands and and island I hadn’t gone to yet.
Tumblr media
I then repaired my ship at the Harbor Master, payed to have my notoriety lowered and then accepted a Naval Contract for “Eye for An Eye.” The contract said that a Spanish Fleet had boarded their Frigate and took it over. So they want me to take it back from them.
Tumblr media
So I had to find the San Lorenzo which was sailing around nearby with some other ships. I waited until it was on its own and then pelted it with mortars and cannon balls until I could board it.
Tumblr media
Once I subdued everyone I sent the ship to my fleet because I wasn’t going to waste a Frigate.
Tumblr media
With that the Naval Contract was done (Naval Contract: Eye for an Eye - Complete).
Tumblr media
I went back to Fort Castillo de Jagua and got my customary picture since everything was done. Then set sail again.
Tumblr media
I headed back to Arroyos and there was still another Assassin Contract to do called “A Last Drink for the Road.” It stated that a Templar associate was hoping to regulate and control the rum trade in the West Indies with force and violence. And he was supposed to be in Arroyos soon. I had to find and kill him.
Tumblr media
He wasn’t hard to find as there was suddenly a lot of Spanish guards in town. He was threatening someone to pay and then he killed him. Then he ran to his ship before I could catch up to him.
Tumblr media
So I had to set sail and chase after the ship that my target was on. I then engaged in a sea battle until I could board the ship.
Tumblr media
I ended up not having to even go to my target to kill him. I just used the swivel cannon to aim and fire and kill him. That completed my contract. (Assassin Contract: A Last Drink for the Road - Complete). Then I took over the ship and used it to lower my notoriety.
Tumblr media
With that, Arroyos was now complete. I then went sailing to the other nearby small islands so that I could get the chests and went down to the last undiscovered island that had been revealed.
Tumblr media
It turned out to be Cayman Sound and it was a small island. I just synced the Viewpoint and then went around to get the animus fragments and chests. I even killed and skinned the animals here so I could craft a larger smoke bomb bag.
Tumblr media
And once I got everything that was it for Cayman Sound. But I wasn’t done. I did see that there was a Templar Hunt mission here but it was getting late so I stopped here. I made good progress in the ‘Medium’ difficulty part of the sea. My plan is to keep going across and then go to Nassau where my next main mission is supposed to be. We’ll see if that will happen.
But all that is for next time. Until then. Happy Gaming!

Spontaneous home blessing ceremony. ✨ I remembered I had saved a cacao bean from the cacao ceremony I went to in NYC on the eve of my departure. With @sarahevecardell and @jarrodbyrnemayer I intended to return it to the earth in my new garden in Tulum. So yesterday I buried it under this tree. Then I remembered I had two crystals from @tini_howl from the @inscape alcove installation that we blessed with twenty hands that I wanted to hang in my garden in Tulum. So I grabbed those and found a antique glass pendant from my trip to Israel with JR in 2014, which he blessed for me. Yes that wanted to go on to the tree too. By now I think I'm overdosing on symbolism. Then I get the copal burning, because no Mayan ceremony is complete without copal. I was really just wanting to thank the universe and the land for having me here. My bean planting just kept expanding and expanding. In the sweet smoke I noticed a lizard in the tree. A sacred totem animal to me from my early days in vision quests. There she was. We chatted as I asked for guidance and her blessing. She said be joyful. Enjoy. Celebrate. Seems to be a Mayan thing. Joy. Something worth getting used to. So this was my spontaneous moment of connection and meaning. Magic is real. Earth. Air. Fire. Water. Love. #heartswideopen #yesiwasinmybikini #sacredceremony #mayanwisdom #totemanimal #copalblessing #makemeaning #ritual #urbandivine #followtheflow #followyourheart (at Tulum)
