hey guys!! i want to remind u guys that a lot of editors on this platform get TONZ of their work stolen!! :( On tumblr copy cats like tumgir and other stuffz they get their work stolen. And a lot of icons on pinterest are stolen. you dont know how many times i see an edit on tumblr that was stolen by somebody on pinterest
what you can do is if u see it let the op know about it! because a lot of icons on pinterest are stolen and without credit. and sometimes people jsut search "cute anime icons" on google and our posts will appear and they will just use them without credit and put "Credit to the original artist/ editior"
Just so you know, "credit to op" is NOT credit. becuz nobody will know who actually did it. :( and some people will just save image and use it without credit at all. because if you search " [blank] icons" some of them are stolen!!
i even searched airi icons and look!!
Tumblr media
tons of stolen edits reposted without credit!! these websites will find posts on tumblr and put them on their website WITHOUT PERMISSION!! i also saw some pinterest results that looked kinda stolen but i didnt wanna acuse any1
what u can do is support and reblog stuff from ur favorite editiors!! :) and credit them when u use their stuff. just support editiors. like + reblog their posts. im not forcing u but i highly encourage to support your favorite editiors!

Hey everyone! Today i'd like to inform you all about this Tumblr knockoff called "Tumgir".
I havent visited the site myself just incase its full of malware, and, apparently it is.
On a few articles I read about Tumgir, when you go onto the site it displays a message that looks like this:
Tumblr media
Obviously, this isnt true and the real threat lies upon the app it tries to make you download. I myself have ran into this problem before, and I did some digging to find out it was a scam for you to download either adware, spyware, and in some cases, ransomware.
Oh, and to add insult to injury, to make the website more appealing and real, its stealing artwork from Tumblr itself and putting it onto their website.
Tumblr media

You can clearly see that instead of saying "Tumblr", it said "Tumgir" and it doesnt even have the correct logo colors.
Anyways, be careful on what you do on the internet, and as always, stay safe.

[PS. To get the word around, reblog the post!]

Scummy Tumblr Clone
Ran into this scummy tumblr clone recently by searching up one of my fics I’ve posted about here. It’s called ‘Tumgir’. The site seems to take content from anyone, no matter how large or small their blog is, and has no real way to remove your content. (Seriously, I’ve tried submitting a removal request and it never fucking works. Always tells me my captcha expired instead of ACTUALLY SUBMITTING THE REQUEST. If it is submitting the request, it sure as FUCK isn’t telling me.)
Letting my fellow artists and fic authors know because holy shit, what a blatant invasion of privacy. Skimming off Tumblr for content and not even giving the tumblr accounts a real recourse for if they want their work removed? That’s fucked up in the worst of ways.
Thankfully in my case, the only stuff it’s *actually* stolen has been my art, because the only fics I post are links to AO3, but in the case of you guys who post entire fics as tumblr posts... Well, A: I salute you, I’m nowhere near brave enough! And B: This scummy site is stealing your fics, word for word. I sure hope my removal request actually went through.
Edited to add: Tumbex is apparently another one! Please bring awareness to it as well!
Edit: TumblrGallery (HARD N_S_F_W WARNING), Rebloggy, Tumbip, and others exist out there and do the same thing! I’ve got a good antivirus and adblocker, but I don’t recommend accessing these sites too much to try to get your content removed.

Regarding @universalcollisionleaks00,
If you see any website OTHER than TUMBLR, such as Tumgir, Tumpik, etc. those are NOT the official places where Universal Collision stuff lies in. They are eithers Malicious websites that steal stuff from there
Universal Collision was stolen by NovelHD, and Teenfic.

Jeez why are tumblr mirror sites so aggressive? I wouldn’t care if they weren’t riddled with popups and malware but come on dude. I’ve filed like 3 takedown requests for my blog on Tumgir and it’s still up :/

Hello uh I am very worried that I may just have accidentally downloaded a virus from a site called Tumgir. Basically I was looking at reference photos on Google images and I saw one made by a friend which I thought was weird since she doesn't have Tumblr and I clicked on it because I'm a dumbass who can't read. Went to click on the account it was posted from and it downloaded a file and then another file without my permission. I deleted them quickly but now I very very afraid for my pc -_-; does anyone have any advice?

Lmaooo I just found out apprently a bunch of my Johnny Gat fan art got reposted to Tumgir, a scam infested malware site that's dressed in a long dead carcus of tumblr. I discovered this information while looking for a screenshot of gat talking about his cock.
What a time to be alive.
