Obsessed with the amount of love Dustin the Turkey is getting from the rest of Europe.

Most Irish kids like myself who grew up in the 90s grew up watching him on tv every day.

Apart from the nostalgia the character is genuinely one of the funniest and wittiest characters on Irish TV.

In 2008, Ireland sent famous puppet Dustin the Turkey to perform for them. Dustin is famous from the children's show 'The Den,' airing on public broadcaster RTÉ. He is a huge force of comedy and has even released various albums with quite a bit of success.

Dustin the Turkey sang 'Irelande Douze Pointe' during the First Semi-Final, but did not advance to the Grand Final, as he placed 15th.

Many people cite this entry as the exact moment that the rest of Europe lost respect for Ireland in the competition. Some people thought that entering Dustin was done to deliberately fail or to mock Eurovision. Dustin, and his performer John Morrison, when asked about this said that this was not their intention, but if they've cursed Ireland, "...fair play, I've saved the country a fortune so I'm happy with that."
