Why Won't It Stop?

Warnings: explosion, head injury, blood, bloody nose, unconsciousness

Caretaker staggered out of the burning building, Whumpee following closely on their heels. "Why won't it stop?" Whumpee whined.

"What?" Caretaker couldn't hear out of one ear.

"The ringing. In my ears. It's so loud. Why won't it stop?" Whumpee stopped walking and clamped their hands over their ears. "It's so loud, Caretaker."

"Whumpee, we were just in a major explosion. It's normal to have some tinnitus."

"Some what?" Whumpee let their hands drop. Caretaker could see blood trickling from their right ear.

"Tinnitus--ringing in your ears. I'm sure when my hearing comes back in this ear," they pulled on their left earlobe, "it'll be ringing and ringing and ringing."

Whumpee screwed their face up. "It's so loud."

"I know, Whumpee. I know. If there's something the medics can do, they will. Are you sure that's the only thing wrong?" Caretaker stopped and really looked at Whumpee.

Whumpee's hair and clothes were coated in a fine layer of dust. Both ears had blood slowly trickling down--both ear drums had probably ruptured in the blast. Whumpee's face was pale, but Caretaker wasn't sure how much of that was dust. They were sure they looked just as bad as Whumpee.

"'m fine. Why?" Whumpee stopped and stared at Caretaker.

"Because your nose is bleeding," Caretaker said as they patted their pockets for a tissue.

"Hmmm," Whumpee muttered as they took a stumbling step and listed sideways. "I....I....I'm gonna be sick."

Caretaker had a moment to register Whumpee's words as Whumpee dropped to their knees and collapsed forward. "Whumpee!" Caretaker tried to rouse Whumpee. But as Caretaker turned Whumpee onto their side and placed Whumpee into the recovery position, Caretaker's stomach dropped. Blood dripped in a steady flow from Whumpee's nose and had begun to drip from Whumpee's mouth. "HELP!" Caretaker roared hoping someone would come. "SOMEBODY HELP ME!"

Finale: Attack Launch

Tw for implied murder, a knife, and an explosion.

Saber squeezed Hanayo's hand. "I know what I want."

Hanayo nodded. "Okay. If you can only keep one feature of your true form for the battle.... then it should be that."

"Mmhm." Saber said, narrowing her eyes as she, Hanayo, and their party approached the dark hallway. This was it. The person behind ChimeraX, behind all of the pain and suffering, was about to be revealed.

The only sound was from the water droplets dripping from the ceiling above. Saber held up her flashlight. Something moved in the shadows, and Saber held out her arm to stop Hanayo. "They're here." She whispered, bracing herself.

The overhead lights suddenly flickered on with a sharp banging sound. A circle of bodyguards stood before them. Saber put away her flashlight and growled. "Okay, you pieces of shit. Enough is enough. Reveal your leader!"

"There's no need to reveal me. I'm already here." A voice spoke from somewhere among the bodyguards.

Saber put a hand on her knife. "Good. Now step the fuck out of your little human shield."

"....I see that he's here. You really got him on your side?" The voice spoke again.

Saber felt a chill run down her spine. She recognized the voice from somewhere. It sounded like someone she knew....

"Who the fuck are you?! Come out of there now, or I'm coming in to stab you myself!" Saber flicked her blade open.

A moment of tense silence. Then the bodyguards slowly parted to reveal a hooded figure. "No need for that. I would much rather kill him before moving on to you...."

Saber narrowed her eyes and took a fighting stance.

"....Just like I did to his mother."

Saber froze. A familiar voice behind her gasped in disbelief, as the figure before them slowly removed the hood.

A very old-looking man with white-ish hair and the faintest tint of green stared at someone behind Saber, his expression unreadable, blue eyes piercing into his object of interest.

Behind Saber, there came a furious growl.

"Father....?"

The man nodded with an evil smirk.

"Nice to see you again.... son."

Several things happened at once. Saber and Ghetsis tried to attack the man at the same time. Hanayo changed into her true form. Everyone else started going for the bodyguards.

Ghetsis didn't even release his Pokemon, instead aiming a punch at his father. Saber growled and swung her knife.

Only to be knocked back as a massive explosion went off, and the world turned black.

If everyone wants to cry, I've decided that the characterization fits best with the SCU versions of the Sonic characters, so we're traumatizing him by blowing up his dad! (I'm genuinely so sorry)
