Second, I have a new headcanon: Remus does needle-felting.

Mr Fuzzy looks like it could have been at least partially made through that, and Remus would absolutely love an art form that involves repeatedly stabbing something with barbed needles.

spoke with my new doctor this week about potentially starting testosterone in the coming months. while the idea of injections scares me, I'm really entranced by the thought of ritualizing it, making it a weekly prayer routine to help ground me and make it feel less intimidating

He couldn’t take it anymore. He needed to get up. It might have been 3 a.m. but laying there was making his skin itch. He headed to the shower and turned the water on as hot as it could go. He felt so numb, he just needed to feel something, and it couldn’t be a needle prick. The urge was screaming inside of him for that needle. He undressed out of his white t-shirt and blue boxers and stepped into the shower. He winced in pain at the blazing hot stream of water running down his back. He stood there, under the waterfall, breathing in the steam, starting to stare off into the grout in the tile. He wasn’t sure how much time had elapsed when he heard the shower curtain being pulled back.

It was a blue envelope with “Tyler Kennedy” in silver metallic writing on it. TK gave Carlos a ‘what did you do?’ look and proceeded to open it, inside was a printout of their game tickets. TK yelled “OH MY GOD!” and jumped up and kissed his husband. Carlos still felt weird kissing him in front of friends and his mom, but he was slowly becoming more okay with it. He knew they were all supportive of them, but he still felt strange about it, especially in front of parent-like figures like Owen, Andrea, and Tommy.

I don’t like the labels of bisexual, lesbian, or straight … I think if I were to call myself something, I would say I’m queer, I’m just me who happens to like girls too.”  “Oh, Nancy.” Carlos pulled her in for a big bear hug. They stayed there for a moment, then Carlos whispered in her ear. “Since we’re sharing, I’m gay. Like super gay.”

YA Tattoo headcanons

Has it been literal months since i’ve done one of these? yes. is that gonna stop me? no

billy and tommy have matching twin tattoos with their birth times

the OG ya all have a matching tattoos like the MCU avengers actors all got

Cassie is a big fan of walk in tattoos, she can go out for coffee one morning and come back with like a butterfly behind her ear or something

Before america gets her first tattoo she makes everyone swear not to tell her moms

teddy gets pissed cause his tattoos don’t shift with him

Kate is terrified of needles but stuck it out for the group tattoo and that was IT

i see tommy as having like…a sketch pad almost on his arm, like it’s all random doodles and stuff that aren’t cohesive but he loves it 

especially his blank tic tac toe board which is perfect for stakeouts

Eli has the dates that his grandfather was imprisoned for over his heart

David joined Kate on the fear of needles train

Cassie has EXTREME loyalty to her artist like that’s HER guy

Lord in Black Ranked on how much I trust them to help me with HRT

1: Blinky. He's a weirdo freak like the rest of them but if he's doing this in his humanoid form, I think his voice would be really soothing since he sounds so lil' and tiny. I trust him not to play around with freaking me out with the needle. He'd do it quickly and we'd be done in a timely manner. He'd be chill.

2: Wiggly. He's the mature one here but I think he'd joke about stabbing me in the eye or some shit because he's like that. He'd stop tho and we'd be done and on our ways eventually.

3: Pokey. He would not shut up at any point. He would go on and on and on about the most random shit ever just to have an excuse to hear his own voice. I would be very bothered. I'd get my T but would it be worth listening to this guy talk about the economic structure of some long forgotten country that's been lost to the ages? Probably not!!!!

4: Nibbly. Nibbly would eat the testosterone. Moving on.

5: I do not trust Tinky with a sharp needle

Scars

(Back on my SCAU bullshit! Now, before I start this I need people to know that this WILL include children getting hurt and injured. I tried not to get too detailed with it, but yeah, don’t read if you don’t like!)

I’ve mentioned that Chayanne has a lot of scars, with the most prominent one being the one on his face. The scar goes from the left side of his forehead down to the edge of his right eye, barely missing it. The reason for this is because back in the facility, they had training days where they had various activities they had to do. One of them was fighting, either against robots or wild animals or the other kids. When Chayanne was younger and weaker, he lost to a wild animal and almost lost his life and right eye. This is what made him strive to get stronger.

The reason Leo has two different colored eyes is because her purple eye is her own making. The Federation wanted to test the limits of her powers and, well, removed one of her eyes so she could make a new one. To their disappointment, the eye she managed to make was not functional, thus rendering her half-blind.

 Bobby has a lot of burn scars because early on, when he didn’t have a lot of control over his powers, he tended to overheat and burn himself. He still overheats whenever he gets too excited, but he has a lot more control now that he’s kinda older.

Richarlyson got his leg amputated because of peripheral neuropathy. But instead of diabetes, he got it because the Federation tampered with his head too much and damaged the nerves outside his brain and spinal cord. 

Tilin has a lot of cuts and stitches all over their body due to their skin and tissue regularly getting ‘collected’ for testing.

Dapper’s skin is now permanently tinted unnaturally dark and ashy due to the nature of their power.

(The others aren’t included because they don’t have as much prominent scarring as these 6, but they’re still pretty scarred. All of them have needle scars)

More oc stuff, I've gotta have a covid booster shot today and I've had some pretty nasty side effects the last few times so I'm not looking forward to it.

This is my little bit of comfort before the storm.

Ok joke aside, I always said that my needle phobia was the only thing preventing me from having tattoos and piercings and I'm really proud to have managed to mostly beat it! I never thought I would ever get to a point where I would be able to get my ears pierced and it went really well. It really helped that my piercing artist has been a really good friend of mine for the past 10 years and she was not only calming, but also kept repeating how proud she was that I was doing this!

As I was talking with her after, I felt unstoppable and it's a nice closure on something that made my life hell for a big portion of my life ❤

the needle does not stay in when you get an IV, it’s only used to place the catheter (a flexible tiny tube) and then it comes right back out

every time a character rips out their IV onscreen it makes me grit my teeth because absolutely fucking not, there’s a reason a pressure wrap is put on after an IV is taken out you will bleed

IV fluids, unless the hospital/clinic is nice enough to have a warmer, are often going to make a patient very cold and shivering is not uncommon while receiving fluids

so general advice not writing advice take a jacket/blanket if you’re going somewhere to get fluids or better yet ask your facility if they have warm blankets because some places will have blankets that are kept in a heater
