What was weird was that Sonic knew the moment he was asleep. He could still feel his body trapped beneath the pile of autumn colored fur that was his little brother, but mentally he found himself standing in an upscale, almost fantasy style throne room. The throne sat at the top of brightly carpeted stairs, and sunlight filtered in through elaborate stained glass. This was a palace. hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm always super nervous about my rendering/shading ability, but this dream sequence in Happ's story, specifically the paragraph I copied up there, stole my breath when I read it, the image in my head was just so ethereal beautiful. So I tried to capture it in drawing. Totally spent 4 days on it because I built it in sketchup first, and then had to design the stained glass, then fuss with colors and small details before putting it all together. And badgering Happ for details the whole time, who was such a dear and indulged all of the questions X'D Worth it |P

Little art trade with @rumple04 of Twelve in national clothes. With were supposed to be stereotypical, but in my case ended up being historical russian outfit! Meet Stepan, his new companion. Not sure Clara appreciates such company 😅

౨ৎ annett dawn marrow is the substitute accordionist for the covey's band in district 12, though she takes over fully for billy taupe later on. she is named after a ballad originating years before in ireland. her parents were executed by peacekeepers for rebelling against moving the covey, she doesn't remember them, but she does remember her father teaching her how to use a rifle, which she still carries to this day, illegally.

౨ৎ the name dawn, comes from her fiery locks of wild hair, which resemble the orange sky at sunrise. she is fierce, unadulterated, and protective of the younger members of the covey, since she serves as one of the oldest and almost a guardian of sorts for them. she sews their clothes and takes care of most of the chores, ie. laundry.

౨ৎ annet dawn has caused a few issues with peacekeepers in the past, a few fights one might say during rough bar nights. though, because the covey provide entertainment, most don't end up complaining when a woman beats them up. maude ivory likes to joke that she's like a corn snake, since only lucy gray seems to be able to calm her when she gets her temper going, along with the red hair.

౨ৎ she forms a connection with sejanus plinth when he comes to 12. originally, she distrusts both him and coriolanus, attributing this to the fact they are both peacekeepers and not trustworthy. though once she learns of sejanus's previous district origins, and heavy dislike of the games, she realizes he is able to be trusted.

౨ৎ her ballad goes as follows ;

“in dunlin glen where willows weep, a maiden sang her love to sleep. they called her annet, soft and fair, with foxfire eyes and copper hair. he vowed he'd come when spring was near— but seasons passed, he stayed unclear. she climbed the cliffs in gown of white and vanished with the fading light. now when the dusk is cold and stark, the wind still calls for annet lark.”

Bit of a belated Valentine's Day/birthday present to myself, and I couldn't be more in love. I think this is actually the first commission I've had made with Zepheera and another companion! So a million thanks again to bonkalore for bringing these disasters to life 💙💙

More about the dorks who I am so totally normal about under the cut:

I've almost always known Zepheera was biromantic. She's just had a complicated history with love and partnership, so it rarely comes up. Functional immortality is a bitch like that.

Throwing her and Bill together was almost a no-brainer once the inspiration struck. They played off of each other so well, and they are both destined to have completely platonic relationships with the Doctor. Two peas in a pod, really.

Then I think it hit me sometime last year that Bill would be Zepheera's bi awakening. She's thoughtful, caring, a loyal friend, beautiful, and exudes that Big Dyke Energy™️ (affectionate) that's hard to ignore when you're so small. It's a dynamic that I don't normally explore, apart from characters that would be together already regardless of size. Honestly never expected to pair Zepheera up with anyone in canon Doctor Who, but if it were to be anyone...

Whether or not Zepheera even realizes what she's feeling, let alone acts on it...well, that's a story for another time.

Happy New Year!

I only just heard about this year's Chinese zodiac so I figured it'd be nice to bring the serpents back for a little doodle. There's usually little bouts of wakefulness through their winter hibernation, and Emmet tends to rouse more often, so he usually checks up on any communications while they're out. He probably sets up a little event with the office when he and Ingo return to work.
