hey out of curiosity! what inspired you to create casa tidemouth? any inspirations/concepts that motivated you? :0

way too much buddy. first it was ttte. that's the source material! next, houseki no kuni (been a fan for 5 years atp) is what helped me in writing lady's character in casa tidmouth -- a nonhuman character becoming more and more human, realizing the weight of their careless actions and how they have messed up the lives of many people, learning more complicated emotions (humans hurt the people they love, hate their own family, cry when happy, etc) and morality and juggling between their selfish desires and others' needs... it's so on the nail. that's lady! I applaud myself whenever I think too hard about her in casa tidmouth

another major one is chainsaw man. I took out bits of makima and stitched them to lady. again, same reasoning. though it's the wacky, fast paced setting of csm that inspired me to do the same to cstm. "what if these engine drivers do fuck all and get into the craziest shit which got them into accidents. and this is considered a normal occurrence on sodor because of gold dust shenanigans"

I also like various tv shows too. black lagoon inspired how I write the gritty, harsh environment of fortezza bigg city where criminals are around the corners. the finale of moral orel season 2 became the basis of duck's backstory. many of the mountain goats' songs remind me of cstm. there's more I could mention but those two shows are what I remember the most

ALSO I got really into limbus company around last year when this blog is less than a year old and then I checked out lobcorp and library of ruina too. I wouldn't say casa tidmouth is heavily inspired by them but the themes of the games do influence my writing and helped me in some parts of the story and character writing. the themes about risking your life for your loved ones, perpetuating the cycle of tragedy or breaking free from it, accepting your role as a cog in the machine either with hope or despondency ETC ETC I LOVE YOU PROJMOON.

Personally, if we’re talking Death Jr ships, I think Marty is a little baby butchdyke and has a childhood crush on Pan, but that’s beside the point—

I really do love DJ and Pan, which is fantastic because I normally hate the main canon ship (or at least don’t really engage with it, with Raz and Lili) of media I like! I think they’re cute! I think it’s charming how Pandora gets them into trouble and DJ is barely able to get them out of it. I really like them in the comics and I think their dynamic works best there. From the way they meet to all the fighting to saving each other to the kiss at the end, I really love the way they interact.

Every adaptation of them kinda changes up their personalities tbh though, so it feels a bit different in the games than in the comics. She’s a bit more rude and a little mean in the second game imo (though I know she’s always been a bit…abrasive). I think they tried to make her more ‘spunky’ but it just comes off as her being a little bit of an ass. With DJ in that one being so, I wouldn’t say stupid or innocent but certainly oblivious, it almost (ALMOST) made me not like their dynamic. BUT, I still think they’re cute and I’d be lying if I said the kiss at the end didn’t make me smile.

They remind me of Kitty and Franke a little if Kitty was more incompetent <3 heart

Conclusion- quite fun! good art exercise,may do it again, everyone's characters are so cool. found some interesting people through the mutual system and was able to give back to the ones I knew or quietly admire!

Eryth whines as he pulls the bubblegum android into his arms, shoving his face into Diogo’s hair and refusing to let go.  Diogo rolls his eyes at the display, allowing himself to be dragged and pressed tightly against Eryth’s chest.  The android shrugs and tugs his arms out from between him and Eryth, wrapping them around Eryth’s neck.

“What do you want Eryth?”

Diogo pretends to huff, yet the corners of his lips tugged into the smallest of smiles.  Eryth merely hums in response, pressing multiple kisses onto the top of the smaller android’s head.  It was pretty obvious to Diogo that his ever so wonderful boyfriend simply wanted one thing- attention. But Diogo was never one to make things easy.

Shuffling his arms once again, Diogo pushes back slightly- earning a whine of protest from Eryth as Diogo moved his head to where he could face Eryth.  Though, Diogo didn’t completely pry himself from Eryth’s arms. “I asked a question.” Diogo’s smile turns into a smug grin, an eyebrow lifting as he gazes at Eryth, expectantly waiting for an answer.  Simply testing Eryth’s pride, in which, he only gives a grin of his own back. “Ain’t it obvious?” Eryth retorts, leaning forward back into Diogo’s space.  Unintimidated, Diogo keeps his eyes locked on Eryth. “Enlighten me.” A soft snort, Diogo moving his hand to place a finger on Eryth’s lips, barely pushing him back before Eryth could claim what he so dearly wanted.  Diogo wanted an answer, and Eryth didn’t want to give it to him, as was the game they usually played.  Who would give in first! “And here I thought you were smart.” A tease without any hint of malice behind it, Eryth moved one of his arms from around Diogo to grab the hand in front of his face, interlocking his fingers with Diogo’s and moving it away.  Diogo’s defenses now down, Eryth gets a wicked grin on his face. “Well, y-” Diogo begins his retort, only to have Eryth lean forward and drag his tongue along Diogo’s cheek, causing him to jump. “ERYTH- GROSS!” There’s a snort of laughter, Diogo snapping at Eryth almost immediately and trying to wriggle out of the red android’s arms. “You love it.” Eryth does it again, Diogo attempting to shove Eryth away but without any real force behind it.  Giggles beginning to tumble from his lips. “I do-” Snort, “NOT!” It’s barely managed to be spoken through the fit of laughter that had erupted from Diogo, Eryth’s own chuckles following soon behind as he keeps playfully trying to lick at Diogo’s face while Diogo “tries” to stop him. Soon Diogo grabs hold of Eryth’s face between his hands, the red android’s tongue poking out from between his lips with a goofy grin still plastered on his face.  Diogo’s chest still bounced with giddy laughter as he drug his boyfriend close, placing kiss after kiss on Eryth’s lips in-between giggles. Eryth moved his arms back around Diogo, pulling the bubblegum android close and gleefully accepting the kisses, wheezing laughter alongside Diogo, the joy between them contagious.

interiors: describe your OC(s) bedroom/home/or a place they consider “theirs”. what’s in it? do certain items have a special significance to your OC?

Akuma’s room is honestly the most relaxing place for him to be, he’s kinda got a dragon’s hoard of rose type items and even has been growing rose bushes in his room that he diligently takes care of.  (Smell nice in there bro, and makes Akuma always smell faintly of roses KDNFG) His last name was given to him by someone else, literally meaning rose, so he just has a comforting connection to roses and tends to just.  Collect them now.  Even if he grew up without any parents or real family, his last name is his and no one can take it away from him.

Wanted to write smth for this one soooo answer under the read more ! The oc in question is my detective, Naoto!

The question makes you think, think back to simpler time when the stress and the brutality of life didn’t hit you so hard.  Back when the most interesting thing were the childhood mystery shows that you so adored.  Unmasking the bad guy, being the hero, that was your entire world.

You never realized, how wrong it was, or how much you wish you could go back.

Standing in front of the door to the office you spent most of your time.  Idolizing the man that worked within, your family, your uncle, your role model.  You made any excuse to come here, to see what he was working on next.

He indulged, but you realize now, he indulged only in ways he could control what you saw.  Indulged in your childhood fantasies of monsters and heroes, shielding you from the true horror in-between the papers and files.

You would sit on his lap, watch him sort through papers and listen to his own stories of being a ‘hero’.  You wanted to be just like him, watching him get a call and rush out of the room to his next great adventure.

You’d wait.

And wait.

Until he came back like the champion you believed him to be.

To you, he always caught the bad guy.  To you, he never lost.

(Even when he did.)

You can still hear the innocent laughter and jokes from the other side of the door, the lost memories of a forgotten time that you thought had been buried down so long ago.  You wanted to open the door, to see your uncle there greeting you with a smile.  To place his hat on your head and call you the greatest detective he’s ever worked with!

But that was only a dream, tied to this memory.

Your nose crinkles, the laughter fading away.

The smell of rot wafting from the shut door.

The joy of the memory being stained with blight and sense of dark foreboding.

Knowing that you’d have to open the door.

Knowing what you’d have to see.

Wanting to see that smile of your hero.

Instead only greeted with the sickening despair of defeat.

Man.  The fact he’s avoided it for so long bc he hates it and the anxiety tm but puts it ALL ASIDE bc his friend is Struggling and he can Help. That’s the good shit man

Diogo is one of my biggest kins and comforts so yea DFKNGLDFKGK As a joke mostly but also yea Repo is another kin! Roll kins Akuma so it’s fine /lh- they’re also both comforts and so is Eryth n Fruit Mentos in general- but honestly a lot of my ocs can fall into the ‘comfort’ category but those would be the main ones I’d say!

Toby this is specifically for u I’m finally dropping u hidden Akuma facts DFKNGLDG But his name basically means Demon Rose (or Rose Demon depends how u look at it)!  In addition! He named the gang Poprocks after the small band he was in while in college, the original Poprocks that was named by a close friend of his- so Akuma got it from him.
