Some kinda crazy publishing news for Cassie Clare fans??

"Melanie Nolan at Knopf has acquired Cassandra Clare's The Wicked Powers trilogy, the final installment of Clare's 23-book YA fantasy series, The Shadowhunter Chronicle[s], which follows Kit Herondale, Ty Blackthorn, and Drusilla Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices series as they are drawn into the final conflict between the demons;"

Did you catch the crazy part? For the past seventeen (17) years, TSC has been published under McElderry Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. And now, the final trilogy, which, as you may remember, we have been waiting years for it to be picked up, is going to be published by Knopf, an imprint of Random House (the same house that published Sword Catcher btw).

What does this mean? A different editorial team. A different marketing team. A different design team. Etc. etc. etc. Its honestly the last of these that scares me the most, but I feel like with such an established series as TSC, they would be dumb not to finish it out with the same font and cover styles etc. that have been characteristic of it for years.

What caused the switch? Great question. We can speculate all we want, but all I know is it just makes me that much more intrigued to find out what The Wicked Powers has in store.

yes i know i promised i would be back. im horrible at remembering to check my account. but the second i saw the announcement i came running bc i know there is no one else in the world who can understand the emotions i am going through other than the lovely ppl on this site <3

im so excited for the posts that i will make, and that everyone else on here will make in the next two years. yes it's a long time. but now we actually have a date, and we have a huge community to count down the months with. i think thats pretty cool.

But CHOT came out in January 2023 so 2023 counts as an entire year right? 2023+2024 (2 years) and then potentially a fraction of 2025.

yeah true, if it’s 3 years max, that’ll give us january 2026 as the last possible date but yeah, i’m hoping for early 2025 because i’m way too impatient for this 😭 it’ll probably be post-seasons of shadowhunters though so possibly mid-2025… or late 2025…

at least we’ll have seasons of shadowhunters in the meantime ig

Next up was Emely. She had picked out three dresses with Jessica. The first dress she tried on was something more on the plain side, and while it was okay, it wasn't exactly what she wanted.

Emely: I like it, but... I don't know. It's not the dress.

Reila: You look beautiful, but I have to agree.

Jessica: I have no idea what you two see, because I see a beautiful woman in a beautiful dress!

The next dress Emely tried on was a no from the moment she stepped up on the small fitting platform. It was too much, too bulky, too mother-of-the-bride.

Jessica, mumbling: This would probably be a good dress for me...

Finally, the third dress Emely tried on seemed to be the one. It was simple yet elegant, and it made her feel like a princess.

Reila: This is...this is it, Em. This is the dress!

Jessica: It looks beautiful on you!

There was only one little problem: the dress was not on sale and was nearly 5000 simoleons. Neither Reila nor Emely had that kind of money to spare, especially not when they were also in the process of taking out a loan to buy their first house. Thankfully, Jessica had a surprise for them both.

Jessica: I don't want either of you to worry about the cost, okay? This will be my wedding gift to you both; I'll pay for the dresses.

Reila: Mama...seriously?! I...

Emely, shocked: Thank you, Mrs. Townsend. I can't tell you how much this means to me, to us.

Jessica, smiling: It's my pleasure. I'm so happy Reila found such a wonderful person to spend her life with. And please, stop calling me Mrs. Townsend. You're part of the family now so at least call me Jessica. I'd prefer mom, but--

Before we got the titles she was teasing the possibility of a fourth book, and when the titles were announced, she said something about these being the 3 books “for now”. This literally haunts me every day.

CC has made it blatantly clear that Dru and Ash's love story will be one of the major parts of the book AS WELL as Kit and Ty's love story lol. I think people are so against the Ash/Dru romance because CC hasn't spent as much time developing it obvi and Kit and ty's story has so much momentum behind it already. CC announced kit ty and dru as the main protagonist so why wouldn't she give Dru a love story aswell? I get people are getting scared of CC minimizing Ty and Kit romance but she's well aware of the love people have for Kit and Ty and wouldn't be stupid enough just to focus on Dru and Ash. Either way I trust CC will do us justice as twp will "supposedly" be the end of tsc.
