i need honest, spoiler-free reviews of txf S8 please. i encountered some vague stuff here that are making me super nervous about it.

I actually only started watching txf around June but I couldn’t resist and went on tumblr during season 1. For some reason I thought doggett and scully were together and I also didn’t know mulder was william’s father. I also remember freaking out for days bc I read something wrong and thought mulder and scully were just friends for the whole series and nothing happened and I got upset but refused to look for more spoilers 😂

lmao i'm so glad that someone else shares my experience!! tumblr is the death of watching this show unspoiled lmao, and it can be very confusing. for me, i didn't search for spoilers as much as i stumbled across them. and i had weird rules for myself--like when i stumbled onto the deadalive arc, i was in like s4 but i was tempted to skip ahead and watch those episodes. and i'm glad i didn't lmao cause what a mindfuck that would've been. but i only ever skipped an episode once, so i could watch all the mulder episodes of s8 when he finally comes back in one morning. 

and thinking mulder and scully were just friends! relatable lmao. i always knew that they had to get together EVENTUALLY, bc i knew they broke up, but i (correctly) guessed it wouldn't be until later in the show. and i remember watching season 1 and thinking "wow things between them are moving so fast! they already used their first names! how are they gonna keep this up for so long?" and then i read that wikipedia article and was like "ohhhh." and it totally changed the way i watched season 2!! like i see s2 totally differently now, but when i watched it i saw it through carter's shitty platonic lenses. i genuinely kind of thought mulder and melissa were gonna hook up. (i'm glad they didn't lmao.) also when i got spoiled for like emily and william, i got really bummed out and didn't want to finish, and then the funny episodes of season 3 saved me. it was a weird ass experience.

You know what’s infuriating about Mulder and Scully?

They can’t even have sex like normal people.

They’re fully in love for seven years and then instead of addressing it at all, Scully goes “HEY MULDER CAN I USE YOUR SPERM?? WILL YOU FATHER MY CHILD???”

And Mulder is like yeah sure that’s what friends do.

And then he has the audacity to say “I don’t want this to come between us”.

BETWEEN WHAT, MULDER? YOUR SEXUAL TENSION? THERE’S A GREAT WAY YOU COULD DEAL WITH THAT YOU KNOW.
