"Beomie where were you yesterday?" Lola whispered towards Beomgyu, who was taking an exam beside her.
It was nine in the morning, the boy had better things to think about and could honestly care less about what Lola had to say, so he just shrugged in reply, not bothering to put any effort into an answer. He needed to breakup with her either way.
"I was with my friends buying things for the Yule Ball and stuff, now can we talk later before you make a scene and before we get into any trouble" Beomgyu grumbled, annoyed. Lola only widened her eyes and immediately went back to focusing on her own paper as well, flustered by his change in attitude.
From across the room, Eunseo and Y/n seemed to be finished as they looked to be focused on something else. Beomgyu took a slight glance at Y/n and immediately brought his eyes back to the exam in front of him.
"He looked at you Y/n, I guess he's finally back to his senses" Eunseo giggled quietly before motioning at Beomgyu.
Y/n only smirked and shook her head as she went back to reviewing her answers. The test was then over with on a whim and all the students clambered out quickly, desperate to take a break.
On their way to the next exam destination, Eunseo and Y/n spotted Beomgyu and Lola in what seemed to be a heated (one sided since only Lola was angry), argument with each other.
"Lola will you listen, I've barely spent any time with my friends the past few months because you wanted me to shut them out. I don't get why you're so insecure and don't trust me, I mean it can't be because of Y/n now can it?" The girl froze at the mention of her name. Why was it always her getting wrapped up in the drama?
Lola huffed and stomped her foot like a child (causing Eunseo to actually snort from where they were watching), while Beomgyu stood his ground calmly. He was finally going to stand up for himself and end whatever this was between them for good.
"Why would I be insecure? You can always hang out with Soobin, Hueningkai, Yeonjun and Taehyun, but that wench Y/n and her snooty friend can stay out of it" Lola sneered, but just as Eunseo was about to charge at her, Y/n held her back with an arm out in front of the girl.
There was a suffocating pause that followed, and Beomgyu sighed in frustration before looking at Lola straight in the eyes.
"Lola I'm breaking up with you for good, I'm sorry but I can't have my friends being bad mouthed by you when they're as close as family. This relationship is unhealthy and one sided since you're the only one that seemed to really benefit from it" Beomgyu uttered, then he walked away to catch up with the rest of his Gryffindor friends.
Y/n and Eunseo stood, absolutely stunned as to what they had just witnessed. Within the blink of an eye, Y/n was suddenly pinned to the ground by someone.
"You! You did this! If it weren't for you then Beomie and I would've still been together!" Lola scratched at Y/n's face and she continuously tugged at her hair.
Y/n screamed, alerting Eunseo, but before she could even take action, she saw Yeonjun running towards them with a Gryffindor prefect.
"Will you stop! Stop right now!" Yeonjun pulled Y/n away from under Lola as the Gryffindor prefect restrained her. The head boy and girl followed right after and escorted her to Head Mistress Mcgonagall's office.
"Are you alright Y/n? Merlin's beard, what was that crazy bitch on" Eunseo checked on Y/n's condition, noting the minor scratches and bruising around the side of her face.
Yeonjun walked over with Slytherin's head boy, Lee Minho, who wanted to check up on Y/n as well. "Are you hurt anywhere else? How did this even happen?" Yeonjun ran over to Y/n and Eunseo as Minho followed him from behind.
"Take her to the hospital wing to get patched up Choi, we'll deal with that troublesome Gryffindor later. Rest up well kiddo, exams won't be until later" Minho ruffled Y/n's hair with a soft smile as the trio made their way to the other side of the castle.
After getting her scars patched up by Madame Pomfrey, Eunseo and Yeonjun sat beside Y/n's bed, both their eyes full of concern.
"This is all Beomgyu's fault! Can you believe him?!" Eunseo frowned. The other two smiled at her awkwardly as Y/n reached out her hand to grab Eunseo's in an attempt to calm her down.
"Hey listen, this isn't his fault or anyone's ok? I'm sure Beomgyu wouldn't have noticed either way because Lola already lunged at me by the time he was gone" Y/n chuckled softly. This seemed to work as Eunseo and Y/n were finally engaging in a proper conversation.
Yeonjun smiles at the two fondly, he couldn't believe how fast they both grew. He was then brought back to all those times when the younger ones were inexperienced in their first few months of school. Shaking his head, he sighed remembering how he even fell in love with Y/n in the first place.
"Yeonjun?" Eunseo tapped his shoulder, bringing him back to his senses.
"Huh? Oh sorry I was spacing out for a bit" then he turned towards Y/n who seemed to be doing fine after a bit of rest.
"I'll head back first, I have a couple of things to do with the rest of the prefects. Y/n I'll tell you about it when you come back so no need to worry. I'll be off now you two" Yeonjun stood up from his seat and started making his way out.
"We'll be fine on our own now, thank you Jjun" He turned and saw Y/n flash a smile at him. Yeonjun's ears burned red as he nodded and bid them goodbye, walking off to see Soobin.
Soobin immediately walked out of the Hufflepuff common room and saw Yeonjun. "Oh hey! I didn't expect you to come here so early, do you wanna talk?" Soobin greeted the older male who then pulled him aside for more privacy.
"Listen, I think I should finally tell Y/n how I feel. Enough of the playful banter and all that, just how I genuinely feel" Yeonjun chuckled bitterly, whilst looking at the ground, unsure of what to make of the entire situation. Soobin had never seen this side of him before, so he only looked at him in a daze before nodding back.
"I mean, I don't see why not. You're both old enough to handle yourselves, and you're going to the Yule Ball together. At this point it's just you two running away from whatever this is" Soobin chuckled. Yeonjun smiled and nodded at his words, continuing to trail his eyes elsewhere.
"Don't be afraid, you two are such understanding friends, it would be a shock if this ended badly, not that it would of course" the latter continued lightheartedly.
"Speaking of which, I say we try this on the others later. I brewed it as part of my review for the exam" Soobin pulled out a small vile from his pocket as Yeonjun cocked a brow at him, then he realized what the liquid inside it was.
"Amortentia?" He eyed the vile in Soobin's hands as the younger nodded, before putting the portion back into his pocket.
"I'm not going to make them drink it or anything though, I'm just curious to know what it smells like for them. Didn't you change your cologne by the way?" Yeonjun playfully smacked Soobin who laughed.
"What does it even smell like for you? Don't tell it reeks of teabags" Soobin whined as Yeonjun mentioned the girl from his divination class, who was currently obsessing over him.
"I'm not telling you, anyways we should get going now" Yeonjun nodded as they walked off to their next exams.

WIP Wednesday Dramione
I’m here once again trying to convince you to read this fic. It deserves so much more attention than it has gotten! Not only because of the amount of work that ellieauthor has put into formatting all the chats and creating all the amazing conversations between the Slytherins and the Gryffindors, but also, THE WRITING!!! The writing is simply spectacular ♥️

Rated : T
Words : 97k (multi-chaptered)
Genre : Hogwarts AU | Action/Adventure
Description : “i snuck into your common room because i was curious and everybody is staring at me because i have a different house’s uniform this is so embarrassing can you please pretend to know me”
...and the fallout that occurs.
...and the other stuff that's not said in school.
Angel's review : I didn't know what i would sign up for when i clicked on this AU. Obviously it was the perfect time to read this because of fall season ! The universe is perfectly transcribed and super well detailed ! I loved the display of different cultures, languages and religions (things i wish were done more often in fics !). Every single character have their importance and i was surprised at how much Kai, Beomgyu and Taehyun were involved in this. Yeonbin is definitely present but the others are also very relevant in this story. We got pining, romance, angst, mystery, suspense, epicness, humor, fluff, drama…you're in for A RIDE !!!!

i. BUTTERBEER AND EXPOSURE
It was cold, to put things lightly.
It was the second week of December, about a week before the fall term at Hogwarts ended, and the winter season decided to make its presence known well this year with the chilly winds and white snow covering every surface imaginable. You were donned in a sweater, jeans, boots, a puffy coat, and a green scarf to accentuate your Slytherin pride. You weren’t wearing gloves, and the frostbite that would soon be eating away at your hands was making you regret not deciding to wear a better outfit to Hogsmeade.
You were currently stood outside of Three Broomsticks with one of your best friends who’s also the captain of the Slytherin quidditch team: Park Sunghoon. The two of you were waiting for some other close friends to join you at the tavern for some Butterbeer and unloading stress after the packed term.
Sunghoon watched you shove your hands into your pockets after trying to warm them up for the third time in the past minute; he laughed at your once-again failed attempt, rubbing his own (gloved) hands together, “You really should’ve brought gloves, Y/N.”
“You really should mind your business.” You retorted, giving him a sour look. You looked at your watch, “What’s taking them so long, anyway?”
“I dunno, you know how Hyeju and Yizhuo get when Jay is running late,” he sighed, “because what I bet is that they left without him, like usual, and then they felt bad and went back for him, like usual.”
“You’re definitely right,” you paused, “but that doesn’t mean we need to suffer in the cold for them. Can’t we go inside?”
“No,” Sunghoon laughed, “they’ll be pissed and you know that.”
Your friend group, comprised solely of Slytherins, seemed to always have situations like these happen to it. Especially those consisting of Hyeju and Jay.
As if on cue, the echoes of the voices of the aforementioned Yizhuo, Hyeju, and Jay were heard in the distance. You playfully rolled your eyes at the three as they made their ways into your field of vision.
Hyeju ran ahead of the other two, clad in a puffy coat and fuzzy hat that made her look like a second year rather than a seventh year. Even running late, she was dressed more appropriately than you were.
“There you guys are,” you huffed when they got closer, “we’ve been waiting for like ten minutes. It’s freezing.”
“Maybe you should’ve dressed warmer,” Jay said, shrugging, “just an idea. Wanna go inside?”
“I thought you’d never ask.”
The five of you entered the tavern, immediately met with a wave of warmth and the chatter and laughter of the fellow tavern-goers. The scent of Butterbeer and Rum enveloped your nose and made you smile without realizing. The warm lighting welcomed you into a table around the middle of the room.
A waiter soon found his way to your table, “Good evening, everyone. Do you all know what you want or should I give you a few minutes and then come back?”
“I think it’ll just be a round full of Butterbeer, so long as that’s okay with you.” Sunghoon motioned to the whole table, smiling at the waiter.
“On it. I’ll be right back with those for you.”
Talk about school and classmates flowered easily into the conversation, mostly about Quidditch and your recent loss to Gryffindor’s team a weekend prior. Sunghoon wasn’t pleased about the situation, and he especially made his disdain towards the Gryffindor Quidditch team captain, Jake Sim, known.
“It’s bloody stupid,” he nagged, “Sim caught the Snitch at the worst time. We were up 20, and then of course the ‘Golden Boy’ had to sweep in and get the victory. God, I hate Gryffindor.”
Your friends all agreed with Sunghoon, but you kept quiet.
You were secretly dating Lee Heeseung, one of the Chasers on the Gryffindor team, and none of your friends knew. You had shown up to the match with them, clad in your Slytherin attire, cheering on Sunghoon. In the middle of the match, however, you feigned sickness, and told your friends you were going back to your room to rest. You roomed with Yizhuo, so you had to make sure that whenever you were done with fibbing to them, you had to beat her back to the housing.
What you were really doing was going back to the Slytherin common rooms to change into Gryffindor attire so you could cheer on your boyfriend. Luckily, the entire house was attending the match, so you had no worries about being caught in the Gryffindor wear. You snuck back to the match and found yourself with a few of Heeseung’s friends, Kai, Minjeong, and Yeojin.
Your friends still had no idea (you hoped) about what happened that day, and you intended to keep it that way. So, instead of speaking against their badmouthing, you just sat there in silence.
The waiter returned with your drinks and you wasted no time getting started on yours.
As if on cue, a voice cut through the noise that you would be able to recognize anywhere; it was Heeseung, accompanied by Jake, Yeojin, and Minjeong, who had just also walked into Three Broomsticks.
“Speak of the Devil.” Sunghoon snarled at the presence of the four.
“Ironic,” Hyeju laughed, “that’s bloody ironic.”
The four Gryffindors sat themselves at a table not far from where you and your friends were sat, close enough to be in earshot despite the chatter of the tavern.
You knew Sunghoon was a lightweight, but you didn’t think he’d be drunk (or ballsy) enough to already start conflict with the Gryffindors.
“Aye, Sim,” he called, to which Jake whipped his head around to spot the voice. At the sight of Sunghoon, he rolled his eyes.
Heeseung had also turned his head, quickly scanning the group to look for you. His gaze softened when you locked eyes, but he quickly sent a glare to Sunghoon.
“What do you want, Park?” Jake asked, turning his body around to face your table. He laughed, “Not still caught on that Quidditch match, are you?”
“Oh, yes, I am, actually. Some bloody sense of luck you’ve got, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’d cheated to win.”
Jake rolled his eyes again, “Maybe we’re just better, Park. Ever think of that?”
“No,” Sunghoon glared, “it has never been a thought in my mind, and it never will be. Because it’s just not true.”
“You really think so? Because, if I recall correctly, one of your friends even came to cheer on Gryffindor. Some loyal housemates you have,” Jake said, “won’t even cheer on their own team because they know we’re better.”
Jake’s eyes flashed towards your own for a split second, making you widen your eyes in an attempt to get him to stop talking.
“As if,” Sunghoon commented. He looked at all of you, “because I saw them all there cheering for Slytherin.”
“Clearly you weren’t looking close enough.”
You saw Sunghoon furrow his eyebrows, to which he glanced back around the table. You swallowed briefly, hoping that he wouldn’t notice your nervous look. You again widened your eyes at Jake, urging him to stop.
“What’s going on…?” Sunghoon looked confused, and a bit hurt.
Yeojin grabbed Jake’s shoulder, letting him know that he should probably let up and not let his pride get the best of him.
“Can someone please just explain what’s going on?”
The desperation in Sunghoon’s voice caused you to look over at Heeseung, who gave you a reassuring smile, almost telling you, ‘It’s okay, let them know if you want to’.
You sighed and grabbed Sunghoon’s arm, forcing his attention towards you. His look melted from one of hurt and confusion to another of something indescribable.
“I’m sorry for keeping this a secret,” you started, “but now that you know, I can’t lie anymore.”
“Did you really go cheer on our rivals, Y/N?” Hyeju asked, looking at you with a hint of betrayal.
“I did. But I had a reason to,” you clarified, “because otherwise I would have never cheered on Gryffindor. No offense, Jake.”
Yizhuo stifled a laugh at the look that Jake gave you which was one of shock. It seemed like out of all your friends, she cared the least about the situation at hand. Jay and Sunghoon stayed quiet.
You stood up from your spot and walked over to behind Heeseung and placed a hand on his shoulder. You sent your best friends a slightly apologetic look, but started, “I cheered on Gryffindor because I…”
You trailed off. This was a lot harder than you’d anticipated. You started again, “I’m dating Lee Heeseung. He’s a Chaser, and I’d gone to every other match to cheer him on. Sunghoon, I’m really sorry about lying. It wasn’t fair to you guys.”
“You have a boyfriend?” Jay questioned, finally breaking his silence. He laughed, “God, I thought you were going to die alone. This is great news, actually.”
Yizhuo and Hyeju laughed, and the tension seemed to ease at the joke. Even Jake cracked a smile.
But Sunghoon still didn’t say anything.
You returned to your seat which was next to him. He barely acknowledged your presence.
“Do you wanna talk?” You asked. You looked at him, “We can go outside.”
Sunghoon vaguely nodded and stood up to lead you outside into the cold. Once outside, he sighed.
“I’m really sorry, Sunghoon. I should’ve been there to cheer you on,” you said, “I wasn’t being a very good friend.”
“It’s not even about that, Y/N.” He spoke, frustrated, yet seemingly more calm than earlier, “Why did it have to be a Gryffindor of all houses? Our rival house? Really?”
“I know, I’m sorry…” you apologized, “but it just kind of happened. Honestly, I am sorry for lying to you all for so long. But I’m the happiest I’ve been.”
“When did you start seeing him?”
Heeseung stepped out of the door right before Sunghoon started his sentence, and answered the question for you:
“We’ve been together since April.”
“April? Y/N, that’s a long time.” Sunghoon said exasperated.
“I know,” you said, watching Heeseung make his way to stand behind you. You brought your attention back to Sunghoon, “but you always talk so lowly of Gryffindors. I didn’t want you to feel betrayed.”
“I’m more upset that you felt the need to lie to us for so long, Y/N,” he huffed, “I’m really happy that you’re happy. But we’re your best friends, why didn’t you feel like you could trust us with knowing this?”
Heeseung wrapped his arms around your shoulders to preserve heat. Sunghoon’s gaze softened at your smile towards Heeseung.
“I’m happy for you,” Sunghoon said, “I really am. I’m sorry we had to find out like this, my pride got the better of me during the argument.”
“I forgive you, and I’m sorry for lying to you.”
“It’s okay, we know now, and that’s what matters,” Sunghoon replied, “at least you’re not dating Sim. That’s what really matters.”
You laughed at him.
“I’m gonna go back inside,” he told you, “and maybe try to make friends so that things aren’t weird,” he stopped, looking at Heeseung, “but you better treat her well. I have no problem being anti-Gryffindor again.”
Heeseung laughed nervously as Sunghoon entered the tavern again. You turned around in his embrace, craning your neck to look at him.
“So,” you started.
“So?” He questioned, raising an eyebrow at you and breaking into a smile.
“I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry, angel? You did nothing wrong. It’s better that they found out eventually, but I should be sorry for not keeping Jake in check.”
“You’re okay,” you reassured, wrapping your arms around him. You pressed your cheek against his chest, “I’m happy they know. Sunghoon will get over the loss.”
“Hopefully.”
You looked up to notice the snowfall that had started falling on Heeseung’s brown locks. You pressed yourself closer to him for warmth.
“Maybe they could even become friends.” You suggested.
“I hope they can become friends: Jake and Sunghoon. I feel like they’d click.”
Peeking into the window of the tavern, you noticed how your friends and Heeseung’s had conjoined into one table.
You let your face break out into a relaxed smile, “Maybe.”

More than anything, it was instinct that saved you.
Well, instinct and the cushioning spell.
You couldn’t have cast it even if you wanted to. Not that you didn’t know the spell, you simply forgot it existed. You were more than all right taking the fall, can’t be more dangerous than usual. But, you really did appreciate the softer landing. One moment, you were free-falling with the ground rising at insane speed and the next, you’d hit the land, rolling around as you kicked sand up.
With a defeated groan, you stopped on your back. Coughs sputtered out of you, no doubt a result of all the sand you ate, while your hand gently let go of your broom. The whine was clear even between the sounds of an ongoing match.
In your hands, lay your broom—your gift—cracked in two.
That’s it.
You were done.
And so was your broom.
Maybe you hadn’t broken any bones, but your back was gone. There was no way you were going to class the next week. Lying on the sand, still running on adrenaline, the pain hadn’t settled. You were sure, all through next week bruises of all colours and various levels of pain will bloom much like flowers during spring. But at least, you were done.
You were done!
A relieved sigh escaped between the panting as you squinted up at the players. Most of them had stopped to see if your fall had been fatal. The game was momentarily paused for you.
Eunbi was the first to arrive. Where from is a question you will never have answered.
“Told you we’d win,” she said with that wicked grin of hers.
She was standing at your side, leaning down enough that her face made up most of your vision. From her neck to her ears, she was flushed. It was a scarlet so dark it was almost concerning. She was bearing all her teeth, something between a smile and a method to catch her breath. Exhaustion or elation, it wasn’t clear. Eunbi looked at you all expectantly, as if you had to share the excitement. You weren’t privy to what was running on her mind, you seldom were.
“No,” you groaned, grappling at the strap digging into your chin. The helmet had done its job. “No, you didn’t.”
Eunbi pouted.
You sent her a look at the expression, though she just let her smile grow again. The referee landed a few meters away from you. Before they could ask the relevant questions and make it a whole thing, you were quick to give them a thumbs-up. The crowd erupted at your sign, the game didn’t need to be stopped. Still grinning, Eunbi stuck out her hand. The quicker you get out, the quicker the game ends. You took her hand.
“And,” you paused.
Something stopped you from fully clasping her hand.
Something round.
“We… didn’t win.”
Staggering, you came to stand, your helmet slipping behind you. Toe to toe, you stood with Eunbi, hand still gripping hers. This close to her, you could really see the specks of light catching in her eyes, her iris alight with mischief. A sight you only witnessed on the field.
Gulping, you looked down just as your conjoined hands pulled apart.
Golden wings unwrapped and fluttered, the singing ball floated right up to your eyes as if it were greeting you. And then, it was turning towards Eunbi, circling around her as if begging for her attention.
“There is no way—!”
The referee blew the whistle.
“You can’t be serious.”
The points dinged as they rose.
“You’re insane.”
The crowd was raucous.
“Told you we’d win,” Eunbi smiled before looking up at the rest of the players. Widening that bright grin, she caught the snitch again and then held it up high.
To say the Slytherin team were dumbstruck would be a very easy statement, but a lie. Every member of your team was agape, frozen. To be fair, even you couldn’t move—and no, it was not because of your injuries.
When Slytherin did begin to lose their stupor, Gryffindor was still fuming.
You could understand them… just a little bit.
“Did you really need to do all of that?” you asked, cringing at her dramatics. Of course, she pulled stunts like this. That’s how she won her first game. Though they mostly happened to be tricks of the mind rather than extravagant displays.
“The game was boring,” she shrugged, glancing at the crowds and then at your broken broom. “Probably, the most interesting thing was you struggling for half the game and then plummeting.”
Addressing the jab with a roll of your eyes, you asked. “When did you even get it?”
“Maybe around ten minutes ago,” Eunbi shrugged again, smiling and waving at our teammates who were landing. The snitch responded with her. “Everyone was too busy focusing on you. Soobin never announced his spotting of the snitch, if he even spotted it, and you were unpredictable. Gryffindor was struggling to get around you and Yeri—a smart choice to change plays in the middle, by the way. Good distraction. So, yeah—”
You put it together quickly.
“You used me,” you stated, kind of hurt. A lot, hurt actually. Eunbi just shook her head. “Yeah, you did! Ten minutes ago—You could’ve stopped the game, you know I was struggling and you even removed our substitutes—”
Eunbi turned to you with a dead stare. All of her mirth from the previous seconds was gone. A look saved just for you, moments before the team engulfs the two of you with praise.
“You were finally getting out of your head, finally playing the game,” she said. “I wasn’t going to stop that.”
And then she pointed at your left hand. And you followed her finger.
It wasn’t shaking at all. You hadn’t even noticed.
You didn’t know what to say.
When you looked at Eunbi, she must’ve recognized some emotion in you. Perhaps, gratitude, maybe fondness, either way, she couldn’t handle it, so she turned away.
“Besides,” she cleared her throat to salvage herself. “We were twenty points behind and I—oof!”
Eunbi went down. Olivia had basically pounced on her.
You let out a snort. “As if that mattered with the—!”
Yeonjun slammed into you and down you went, for the second time that day.
Tumblr media
Turns out your injuries weren’t too bad. Nothing a little magic couldn’t fix, right? Though you guessed it was more that Madam Yun was sick of you wasting space in her wing.
The weekend after the game, Slytherin dorms had their wildest party yet. Your team finally was allowed to let loose, going all out and doing the most. Yeonjun had challenged Olivia in some muggle game, clearly baiting her into some easy bet. Olivia, being the competitive spirit, fell for it headfirst. Your beloved first-years just watched their seniors with glassy wide eyes. You doubt there was anything admirable about their seniors, but you weren’t going to burst the first-year's bubble. Minwoo had gained another chocolate frog from you (stolen from the hospital wing, of course) but he let the frog sit atop his shoulder. He’ll have to learn the hard way why that was a terrible idea.
From time to time, your housemates dropped by to drag you into the revelries but you just shook your head. You were quite comfortable on your couch. After the week you’ve had, you appreciate the stillness. Speaking of…
Your hand was fully under your control.
Holding both your left and right up, you turned them over and over again to study them. No trembling at all. There were faint shots of pain, more memory than actual pain.
You were clenching and unclenching your fist when someone whacked your hand away.
Yeri propped herself on your lap and nestled in, making herself comfortable at your expense. Her legs hung over the couch as she sighed at the ceiling.
“Happy?” she asked, looking at you upside down.
Rolling your eyes, you gently moved around her straying strands of hair and she closed her eyes.
“We won, didn’t we?”
Yeri hummed. “Not what I was talking about.”
You paused your ministrations. You weren’t sure what she was talking about.
With a sigh, Yeri reached out to take your left hand in hers. Intertwining her fingers from the back, she showed your palm to her face so she could trace the lines with her index finger.
“I feel like you worry over nothing,” she said, suddenly deep in thought. “You know, no one on the team doubted you for a second.”
Now she was drawing random shapes on your palm, from stars to smiley faces.
“I don’t understand how every year you keep second-guessing yourself,” Yeri said with another sigh. “Eunbi was adamant on it—kicking Hyukwoo out, that is.”
Your whole body tensed. On a mind of its own, your eyes found Eunbi all the way across the common room. And as if she felt your stare, she looked back at you, coolly.
“No one was against it, but everyone knew it was a dicey move,” Yeri confessed. “Whether the fight happened or not, I think she would have done the same. It just so happened she got lucky—an easy reason—no one could refute her argument. That is, even if it meant it would burden us.”
Now this was going beyond a simple school game, beyond your personal squabbles.
“She shouldn’t be playing games like that, her actions will get back to—”
“Eunbi has already been scouted, her position is already confirmed—”
“Alright, then what about the team? What about us?” About me? was the unspoken question. “This year won’t be easy, they won’t make it easy—”
“Then, we’ll just have to wait and see,” Yeri concluded at the same time she dropped your hand. Your best friend stretched like a cat, before turning over to lie on her stomach. Propping her chin on her hand, she kicked her feet as a shiny gloss lit her eyes. “So how do we feel about Tzuyu?”
“That’s quite the topic change,” you pulled a face but she continued, undeterred.
“And your detention with her?”
“I don’t,” you paused to think about it. What did you feel about it? “I don’t really feel anything. It's just detention.”
“Yeah, somehow I doubt that,” San’s voice chirped from your right as he seated himself on the armrest, his shoulder bumping into yours.
“You know there are perfectly empty chairs right across,” you said, faking your derision.
“Yeah, but I just want to snuggle close to you like—” You shoved San’s face away before he could plant a kiss on you. Though it was proving to be difficult when both his hands were already wrapped around your shoulders.
“Oi, don’t change the topic—we’re talking about Tzuyu,” Yeri swatted at his arms, but with no real fight. “Seriously, how do you feel about her?”
“I thought we were talking about how I feel about detention with her?”
“Same difference,” both your friends said at the same time.
You frowned at that.
“What exactly am I supposed to be feeling?” you asked, in a way to stall so you could honestly bring out your thoughts of her. It was all too muddled, unfortunately.
San rounded himself and took a seat on the coffee table, your knees almost touching.
“Well, you like her, don’t you?” San asked as if it were so simple. You were already shaking your head but he just continued. “You’re always worrying about her.”
“Well, more like worrying about how Tzuyu sees them.” At that, you shot Yeri a questioning glare. “Don’t act like it’s not true.”
“I’m not, is it so bad that I don’t want to look like a fool in front of her?”
“Well, you’ve never cared about it before—”
“Well, I guess she’d never been on my radar before—”
“Alright, then, what changed? Why is she on your radar now?”
You purse your lips.
They’d caught you.
You didn’t have an answer.
What was different now?
“I don’t know,” you admitted.
The confession made you feel more bare than you’d like.
San and Yeri shared a look.
“It is clear how much you care for her,” San says so sweetly, you shudder a bit. Care for her? Of course, you do! You just don’t understand the distinction that deserves a whole conversation.
“Teasing aside, it's good for you—I mean you’re studying and working harder than ever,” Yeri said, “but most of all you’re finally stepping out.”
Before you could ask what that means, she continues.
“You never really cared for anyone but us, Slytherins, or quidditch players—I could even argue anyone but our team doesn’t really register as important in your mind,” you had to bite back the nerve to ask, why would they? “But standing up for those first-years—”
“Anyone would’ve done that,” you rolled your eyes.
“Alright then, on top of that, studying with Tzuyu? Practicing with Yeosang!” Yeri stressed the last point while San nodded. “They’re small changes to you, yes, but to an outsider, it looks like it is really helping you.”
Helping you? Helping you for what?
You narrow your eyes at Yeri, but she doesn’t shy away from you. She just kept staring at you as if she heard the question in your mind. As if she was urging you to think about what she meant. As if you had the answers.
So you did.
All the way back to how you befriended Yeri.
Or more so, how she had befriended you. She had clambered onto the train, wide-eyed and loud, instantly recognising the name embossed on your suitcase. She hadn’t even asked to enter the cabin or if you were waiting on anyone else. Yeri asked a million questions, all of which you ignored until she called you out. On your passive expression, on your unfriendliness, and on how you stared out your window when your parents didn’t even wait to see you depart. When you finally deigned her with a response, she grinned, having struck gold.
Later in the year, she revealed that you’d met her before. None of it rang a bell to you, but by that time, she’d grown to be someone quite important. You found yourself clinging on to her more than she did to you. Besides, it did help that whatever trouble you caused or didn’t, she was always the first to back you up. Very quickly, you found yourself doing the same—a loyalty so unwavering, that you didn’t really care for anyone else.
That’s how it went with Yeri. That’s how it went with everyone else. Every single one of your close friends.
How San introduced himself with a snack because he’d bought too many, (he had lied, he believed sharing snacks would help him make friends if his words failed). Or how Yeonjun had passed you notes because he was bored at the back of the first History lesson, (you both had been kicked out and never earned the professor’s trust ever again—not that either of you cared for it). How Eunbi made a singular comment on correcting your form when she’d caught your practising spells late at night, a throw-away note, she hadn’t even stopped to say it (and you never got to thank her after the Charms professor praised you).
All of them had approached you first, regardless if their intention was to befriend you or not. They come to you, befriend you, and you just let them… Or more that they’d broken through. Seen you through your passiveness and unfriendliness as a young Yeri had put it.
How many more were there? How many more interactions filtered through your mind as irrelevant much like how you’d met Yeri before and had no recollection of it? How many more friends had you lost because you were busy picking and choosing who to speak to and how to speak to them? Whether they deserved your response, being selective on whether they deserved to take up space in your mind?
When put in words, it sounded awful. Even if it wasn’t your intention, it seemed so so awful. Almost like… your parents.
“I hope they help you. Help you understand that the world doesn’t end when you make one wrong move. Help you understand that you’ll be fine if you fail from time to time,” Yeri paused to let out a deep sigh. You knew she was thinking about your parents too, but she didn’t feel like saying. Why, when you knew already? “I hope that they help you understand that you’re more than just some Quidditch player, or a decent Transfiguration student, or another L/N.”
“That’s not her job,” the words escaped you before you could even recognise what you were saying.
You’ve truly lost where this conversation was going.
“That’s not their job,” you corrected. San and Yeri shared a look while you folded your arms.
Weren’t there bigger problems to concern yourselves with than whatever you had going on with Tzuyu? Which wasn’t much.
“That doesn’t matter! Focus on how I broke my broom—”
“We all saw that, don’t change—”
“Yeri, I’m just saying Tzuyu is not a concern—”
“Our next game is not a concern! It isn’t for weeks! Plus we have school brooms,” Yeri said.
“And spare brooms,” San added, knowing he could ask his parents to send some for you.
“That still doesn’t guarantee a smooth game, I mean this game we barely—”
“I don’t understand why you won’t let anyone near you,” Yeri shuffled back, now kneeling on the couch.
“And I don’t understand what you’re talking about,” you flashed San a look, hoping he’d help you in some way. Nothing. “Seriously, what are we even talking about now?”
“I forget how you can be so clueless,” Yeri shook her head and moved away from the couch. She gave you one last look before leaving. “That’s my bad.”
You watched her disappear into the crowd with a sour taste in your mouth. This fight was not a new one. Every year something along the same lines always came up, but truly this time there was no root to it. At least, not one you could pinpoint.
“You’re distracted,” San offered kindly. When you pursed your lips, he sighed. “Tzuyu has been distracting you.”
“Is she helping me, or distracting me? Which is it?” you asked, and a passing look on San told you he didn’t appreciate the tone. You mumbled your apology before running your hand down your face. “I’ve been practising the best I can, studying the best I can, what are you saying—”
“It’s not a bad thing,” San stopped your words. “Anyone with eyes can see the two of you have been circling each other since the start of the year, though it's become so tense—”
“Yeah, well, I was injured because of her,” you emphasised the point as much as you could. Then you brought your hand up to unfurl a finger every time you made a point. “And then, she went and took the blame. And I don’t even know why she bothered to try to make a friend out of me—”
“Don’t you think these are things you should be talking to her about?”
Then you froze.
Whatever you’d said you didn’t feel at the start of the conversation had just poured out of you, out of nowhere—no, from somewhere deep in you.
“That’s what Yeri means, though she put it less kindly,” San said, placing a hand on your knee. He furrowed his brows, debating if he should say the thing he was thinking, far too gentle to not mince his words, far too different from Yeri. “You can confront people without your fists connecting with their face.”
You stared at the hand on your knee. “Does it matter?”
“If you’re so wound up over it, I’d say it does,” and then San reached for your left hand.
And with horror, you felt it flinch away.

“It’s still OK for tonight, right?”
Felix was your best friend since you were in diapers. Your families were friends, so you went to a muggle school and did everything together, even though you were a halfblood from your dad’s side.
When Felix got his letter from Hogwarts, the first thing he thought of doing was run to your house and excitedly shake it in front of your face. With a rather shocked expression—mouth wide open kind of shock—, you showed him yours. It was so unlikely to happen; you had prepared yourself for months to tell him you wouldn’t be able to go to secondary school with him. And finally, against all odds, he was going with you at Hogwarts.
You remember when he told your dad after learning about his bloodline, eyes wide and shiny, “y/dad/n, I’ve never noticed!”
You’ve been sorted into the same house and, four years later, you still don’t know if it was your will to stay by your best friend’s side or your personality that put you in Hufflepuff. Maybe both.
“Of course, Lix.”
One of Felix’s favorite spots at Hogwarts was the Astronomy tower. It was the tallest one of the castle, surrounded by a parapet and turret, and without a doubt the best spot to look at the sky —especially the stars and the moon. It was usually out-of-bounds except for classes but Felix was determined to spend quality time with you there every chance he got.
“Cool. I’ll bring snacks.”
The second favorite spot of your best friend was the kitchen. He found the entrance on a rainy Sunday during his first year. He was so bored he decided to touch every inanimate object in every painting of the whole castle —I agree it’s a rather odd hobby—, until the green pear in a painting of a bowl of fruit in the donjons giggled and turned into a large green door handle. When he entered, he faced a dozen house elves smiling and bowing to him, proposing tea and snacks. They were all wearing the same tea towel, draped like a toga, bearing the Hogwarts’ crest.
Ever since, you have been going to the Astronomy tower together with some food to share as you observed the stars, and sometimes your gaze shifted to the freckles on his soft looking face. You often thought the galaxy had nothing on them.
Tonight, however, as you left the common room to go to the Astronomy tower a few minutes after Felix, your luck left you. You only got to walk a few meters before none other than the head boy of Slytherin, Minghao you recalled, spotted you and mercilessly gave you detention for “wandering the castle’s alleyways in the middle of the night”. Shoulders down, you were forced to go back to your dorms, without the possibility of warning Felix —none of you had an owl.
Felix waited for you for two whole hours, mindlessly picking at the food he brought. Thinking you bailed on him, he got upset and sad, and eventually came back to sleep around three.
The next morning, he didn’t wait for you and directly went to eat breakfast. When you entered the Great Hall, Felix was eating and talking to Sanha. Feeling a hand on your shoulder, you turned your head; It was Soobin.
“He seemed a bit tense when he got up. What happened?”
You pouted. “I got caught.”
“Ah shoot. Come on, let’s eat.” You adored Soobin, he always knew how to comfort you (read: he doesn’t). Felix did his best to ignore you; it was unsure who was the most hurt by the other.
“Lix,” you called as you sat in front of him, “I’m sorry about last night. Minghao saw me and gave me detention.”
His eyes softened as he looked up at you. So much for being upset. He was relieved you didn’t stand him up. Not that you would… He just got insecure.
“It’s okay, I had fun with…” He was searching for some smart remark but couldn’t come up with anything. He was nervous. “Actually, I practiced the red sparks charm.”
“I bet you’ve mastered it by now,” teased Sanha.
“I waited for you in the common room. I revised for the care of magical creatures test but I almost fell asleep so I went to sleep,” you explained, deliberately ignoring Sanha.
“Are you going to keep breaking the rules for the sake of your little nightly dates the whole year?” asked Soobin, seriousness in his voice.
You snorted, finding the date allusions delusional, although the more you thought about it, the more your cheeks burned. Meanwhile, Felix choked on his pumpkin juice.
“We don’t—”
“That’s not—”
“You know friendly dates exist, right? Why are you getting into a stew? That’s suspicious.” Soobin snickered along the brown haired boy, amused by your alarmed states. For the rest of the breakfast, Felix and you avoided looking at each other.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
To no one’s surprise, Felix got the highest score on his care of magical creatures test about nifflers, while you got an E, which was a good score; you did revise after all.
During recess, Soobin wanted to work on his divination essay, or at least try to come up with something tangible. Felix helped Jeongin out with a flobberworm issue and Sanha preferred to find out how close he could get to the Whomping Willow without getting crushed. You had to work on a charms assignment but this was more interesting.
Soon, clusters of different houses and ages came to see the show. Sanha spent a few minutes carefully getting closer and dodging some branches, but couldn’t avoid the last one. He flew three meters away, his face first on the mud, under the laughing and clapping of the crowd.
You ran to him, suppressing a snort. “You okay?”
“Sure, that was fun,” he smiled as he dusted off his robes and pants. “Fancy trying?”
“Absolutely not, thanks. Come on, we’re going to be late for potions.”
“We still have t—”
The ringing sound shut him up.
You pointed your wand to his muddy face and whispered: “Tergeo.” All the dirt got sucked by your wand. He thanked you then followed you into the dungeons, where Felix and Soobin were already talking.
“Sanha, what’s with your robes? Is that… a tree bark?” asked Felix as he took a piece of crust out of his robes to take a closer look.
“Yeah, I almost touched the Whomping Willow’s trunk but a branch got me first.”
“You’re living dangerously,” laughed Soobin, quickly followed by the group.
The glee quickly died down when the potions professor opened the door of his classroom.
“I’m sure you’re having fun, however I’ll deduct twenty points to whoever laughs during my class,” the professor said with his usual monotonous voice. Several students sighed as you walked to your table next to your best friends.
“Today we’ll brew the Pepperup potion. Can anyone tell me what this potion does?” Almost immediately, Sanha raised his hand. “Yoon?”
“It cures the common cold and warms up the recipient.”
“Indeed. Five points for Hufflepuff. Now, who can tell me the inventor of this potion?”
Again, Sanha’s hand raised first. “Glover Hipworth, sir.”
“Good, five more points for Hufflepuff.”
Sanha loved potions, to state the obvious, and he had a remarkable memory. While he was impressive for knowing every detail about any potion, from the ingredients needed to the fun facts, Soobin’s area of expertise was preparing them. One could say they made a good team.
Felix and you weren’t that bad either, you always prepared your potions almost perfectly. What was for sure was that you never burned a cauldron or made any potion explode, which was more than Renjun and Jeno could say. The pair of Ravenclaws never seemed to stay away from trouble in this class.
Later that day, Felix and Seungmin were looking at the House Points hourglasses, debating on who had the most points when they saw fifteen sapphire gems being deducted. They looked at each other and the younger one sighed.
“Who do you think it is, this time?”
“Probably Jisung,” the Ravenclaw student answered. “I swear, he’ll be the death of me,” he wailed, rubbing his forehead with the palm of his hand like a tired-of-life man.
Felix tried his best not to laugh, feeling sorry for him. They parted ways after that, Felix going to the care of magical creatures class while Seungmin went to ancient runes.
Your best friend was outside, on his way to the edge of the forest when you spotted him from afar. Running to him, you tripped on your own feet and fell on his back. Due to the fact he didn’t see nor hear you coming, he couldn’t prepare himself for the impact, meaning he fell head first into the grass, his arms up in a dramatic way. As you got up, you profusely apologized for your clumsiness.
Felix sweetly smiled at you, and, while you were helping him up, he said: “I’m okay, Y/N. Are you?”
“Oh, yeah, I’m good. Are you sure you are, though?”
“I am, promise. Let’s go, we’re gonna see fire crabs today!” he joyfully said, taking your hand in his to drag you along.
They were cute from afar but kind of intimidating, these crabs. You knew they could shoot flames from their rear end, but you also learned a lot: They were native to the Fiji Island, their multicolored jeweled shell was extremely valuable and they were an endangered species. Noting every important piece of information you heard on your parchment, you weren’t aware of Felix’s gaze on your face every now and then. He loved how you looked when you were focusing; brows slightly frowned and mouth forming a thin line.
He ignored the pain of his limbs as he watched you in adoration.
While going back to the castle, Sanha pointed to a puddle of mud next to the Whomping Willow with a proud smile. “We still see the imprint of my head when I fell in the mud this morning.”
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
First weekend of March, the fourth Quidditch match of the year was about to begin, opposing Gryffindor to Hufflepuff. Felix was in one of the towers, being the commentator of the match.
As a faithful best friend, you went to every match to cheer on your team, but especially Felix. No matter who won, as long as your best friend had fun up there.
Gryffindor won this match, 360 to 210… For their defense, Hufflepuff didn’t have Hyunjin, Chan and his partner. They were a force to be reckoned with.
Felix’s mood was down until after dinner, when, on his way to the dungeons with Soobin and Sanha, he heard the astronomy professor say there was going to be a meteor shower that night. She was disappointed that it was Saturday, because she couldn’t bring any class to show them.
But Felix could show you.
He ran to his common room, searching for you. Seated on the comfortable couch near the fireplace, you were doing your care of magical creatures assignment. When he spotted you, a smile even bigger than the one he already had adorned his lips and he came in front of you, panting a little.
“Are you okay?” you worriedly asked, putting your parchment and quill aside.
“Never better. Date tonight at one at the Astronomy tower?” He looked more excited than usual.
“What’s the occasion?”
“We don’t need one, but if you insist, there’s a meteor shower tonight.”
You beamed; you’ve always wanted to see one. “Okay, I’ll come.”
“Brilliant.”
Sanha and Soobin entered the common room together, sending a knowing look with a smirk at Felix then went to their dorm without a word. Following your best friend’s confused gaze, you saw your friends’ backs leaving the room through the round door leading to the boy dorms.
“Come sit with me, we’ll do our assignments then go to the Astronomy tower,” you proposed, and Felix gladly accepted.
You patiently waited for the common room to empty, and once your best friend and you were the only ones there, on the comfortable couch of your earthly favorite place of the castle, you put your stuff in a corner and left as discreetly as possible.
As you were carelessly running, hand in hand, to the tallest tower of the castle in the middle of the night, he exclaimed with a mischievous grin: “I promise Y/N, this meteor shower is going to be worth the detention!”
But you didn’t get detention that night. Instead, you watched a spectacular show in the sky next to your favorite person then went to bed, head full of stars, heart full of love.
“Don’t you think our friends’ smiles hit differently after their nightly date, Soobin?”
The four of you were seated at the Hufflepuff table in the Great Hall for breakfast, Felix and you opposite your two tall friends.
“You’re right Sanha, it’s quite the view,” smirked the black haired boy, clearly mocking you and your best friend, who was quieter than usual.
Quickly glancing at him, his flushed cheeks made your own face warm up and you looked away, clearing your throat. Taking a long sip of pumpkin juice seemed more interesting than anything else at that moment, making you miss the noiseless laughs from across the table and the shy eyes stealthily gazing at you from your left.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
“Felix, I appreciate your help on this essay, truly I do, but you’ve been staring at…” he followed his friend’s gaze, “the wall for a while now. Are you okay?”
Jeongin had asked Felix for help on his salamander essay, resulting in them being in the library, but the older one’s mind seemed to be elsewhere.
He shook his head and turned his attention to his friend. “Sorry, you were saying?”
“Are you okay?” he repeated.
“Yeah, sure. You wrote that salamanders live as long as the flames they were birthed from continue to burn, right?”
“Yes.”
“And you didn’t forget to note that scale rot, if left untreated, can cause a salamander’s tail to detach?”
“Noted.”
“And—”
“Felix,” Jeongin cut him off.
“Yeah?”
“I finished the essay ten minutes ago. Are you sure you’re okay?”
He loudly exhaled, earning a ‘shh’ from the librarian that was walking by, and put his head in his hands. “Was it easy for you to comprehend your own feelings?”
Jeongin was taken aback by the question. Of all people, Felix was asking him for advice. The thirteen year old who liked and was dating his cute Slytherin classmate for roughly a month.
“I asked for advice myself… but in the end, I knew it wasn’t just friendship.”
The older one looked up to his friend and pouted. “I think I like my best friend.”
Jeongin beamed, clapping quietly. “That’s so cool!”
“No, it’s not!” he whisper-shouted, receiving a quizzical stare. “What am I supposed to do?!”
“You’re not just asking me that.”
Frustration built inside the blonde boy, he didn’t know how to deal with his newfound feelings. How was he supposed to repress them in front of you? Act normal? He knew it would be more difficult than staying awake during divination.
But he had to try.
Before Felix could join his friends at the Hufflepuff table for dinner though, Seungmin stopped him in his tracks.
“You look constipated. Lost house points?” The joke brought the shadow of a smile on Felix’s face, and that was when his friend knew something was wrong. “Oh.”
“Oh?”
“Does Y/N know?” Know what? He was confusing the poor boy even more. “That you like them.”
Now, if Felix had a drink in his mouth at that moment, he would’ve spat it all. “How did you know?”
“Please, it’s obvious to everyone. So?”
“I don’t think so…”
“Okay. Don’t beat yourself up too much, alright? You can go for it,” he comforted him as he patted his shoulder.
He sat down next to Jisung before Felix could say anything. He finally joined his friends and sat across from you, his Ravenclaw friend’s words confusing him even more, if that was even possible at this point.
“I smell change,” Soobin raised an eyebrow, suspiciously looking around.
“What are you talking about now?” you giggled, nudging him.
“No, I smell it too,” Sanha added, eyes boring into the side of your best friend’s face.
Felix was concentrating on cutting his meat, trying his best not to spare you a glance.
“You okay, Lix?”
Your concerned voice was all it took for him to look at you. He was so weak for you, it scared him a little. “Sure,” he replied, giving you a small smile, holding so much adoration in his eyes as always. “Just tired.”
You nodded with an understanding smile, and dinner after that was rather silent. Unbeknownst to both of you, Sanha and Soobin shared a knowing look, shaking their heads in desperation.
The next day after class, the four of you were around a table in the common room. Two were working while the other two were bored, staring at the ceiling —guess who— until Soobin abruptly got up from his armchair. “I have an idea.”
“A good one?” Sanha enquired.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
Five minutes later, the two rowdies were building a house of cards with Soobin’s deck of exploding snap. Knowing the scaffolding could explode at any moment, Felix and you quickly put your school related stuff back in your bags in silence.
Deciding it wasn’t entertaining enough, Felix left the common room to do his assignments in the library. You wanted to see who would make the whole thing explode first, but spending time with your best friend you had a not-so-secret crush on was too tempting.
Too immersed into contemplating how or even if you were going to speak to him about your growing feelings, you missed the hole in the stairs. Felix, who climbed over it without thinking about it, flinched when the armor upstairs started creaking, bursting into a guttural laughter. Raising a brow in suspicion, he turned around. As he saw you knee deep in the stair’s hole, he hastily climbed down the stairs to help you up, putting his arms under yours.
Once you were out of ‘danger’, Felix dusted your robe and looked at you in concern. “Are you okay?”
Ashamed of your clumsiness —especially considering you knew exactly where the hole was—, you nodded, staring at the floor. “I’m sorry.”
You missed your best friend’s side smile and soft eyes. “There’s absolutely no reason for you to apologize. It happens. What’s important is that you’re okay.”
He took your hand in his and walked in the direction of the library, avoiding the hole and any other obstacle that may have come your way. His hand was warm against your colder one.
It felt nice.
You were in the library in no time, sitting at a table in the charms aisle. Concentration was difficult on both parts, the close proximity of a few minutes prior still vivid in your minds. Instead of diligently writing your essays, you glanced at each other from time to time, blushing like idiots.
If Seungmin or Jeongin were here, they would probably tell them to communicate. Like, it wasn’t that hard—
“Felix?” His face shot up from his rather blank parchment on vanishing spells, expectantly waiting for your next words. “Let’s go to the Astronomy tower tonight.”
He gulped. It was usually him that proposed the nightly dates. He felt so warm inside, he nodded and gave you his toothy smile you loved so much.
That night, when Felix came up to the tower a few minutes after you, his eyes widened at the sight. You had prepared a little picnic full of his favorite snacks and juice. The sky was clear so you could plainly see the stars and constellations.
“What’s the occasion?”
“We don’t need one, but if you insist,” you repeated his words from a few days ago with a grin, “I’m asking you out on a date.”
He blinked a few times at your bold words, processing the news. You suddenly felt shy, cheeks burning furiously when Felix got closer to you. He gently intertwined your fingers together, looking at you with such adoration, it was hard to hold his gaze.
“I’d love to go on a date with you,” he whispered, closing the gap between your foreheads. “Once more.”
Felix knew deep down that all of the dates you’ve both been on were not so friendly to him. It just took time to realize it.
You wanted to kiss him, but were too shy to initiate it. Thankfully he got the hint and, after asking for consent, gave you a peck, and another, and another. Each time longer than the one before, both smiling into the soft kisses. He then gave you the biggest loving hug.
Eventually you enjoyed the picnic, watching the stars like always. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, you turned to the human you loved most.
“The stars wish they were as bright as you.”
Felix blushed, burying his face in the crook of your neck to hide his reaction. You ran your fingers through his hair, kissing the top of his head tenderly. The night ended smoothly, both falling asleep in each other’s arms on the picnic sheet.
The next day, at breakfast, Soobin and Sanha spotted you coming from the stairs instead of the dungeons on their way to breakfast.
“Where were you? You never went to bed yesterday,” enquired Soobin, waiting at the end of the staircase in the Entrance Hall.
“Where did you sleep and what did you do?” asked Sanha, hands on his hips, looking at you both suspiciously.
“Went on a date, ate snacks, watched the sky, kissed and fell asleep there,” you recounted on your fingers.
“You WHAT?” Sanha choked on air while the black haired boy gasped dramatically.
“We kissed,” repeated Felix, beaming and showing your entwined fingers to your friends, which you know they had missed because their eyes widened.
“Oh, dear. It’s happening,” Sobbin said, clutching at Sanha’s arm. “The ship has sailed.”
Sanha laughed under your questioning gaze and Felix’s incredulous one.
“You knew, too?” he asked your tall friends.
“Please, the whole school knew at this point. You were probably the last two to realize.”
“Thanks for the precision, Sanha,” you sighed, “but at least we know now,” you added with a smile as you turned to Felix, kissing his cheek.
Soobin fake threw up while Sanha acted like he was framing the scene. “Cute.”

“Hufflepuff wins the House Cup this year!” the headmaster told the entirety of the students and professors. It was the last day of the year, you were excited for another summer with your best friend, except this time, you came home as lovers.
Felix hugged your side, happy your house won this Cup, if not the Quidditch Cup. He caught a glimpse of Seungmin shaking his head in disappointment and fatigue.
With reason, Ravenclaw was last with 380 points. Third was Slytherin with 395 points, Gryffindor second with 430 points and, finally, Hufflepuff had 495 points.
