A database is an organized collection of data that is stored, managed, and accessed electronically to support a variety of applications and business needs. It enables efficient storage, retrieval, and manipulation of data using software like a Database Management System (DBMS). Databases are essential for applications like websites, businesses, and analytics, ensuring structured and scalable information management.

Fine you cowards I'll fucking say it:
Stephen Moffat wouldn't have done this to us!
#chris chibnall probably would have though ngl#stephen moffat would just have put poppy in some type of bubble dimension or uploaded her as an interface into the tardis' database#and she would be a symbolic representation of the doctor's humanity and childlike innocence that we'd never see again#also i guess he kinda did do it to us too because i always forget river song's final fate is as permanent mother in the library's database#but in his defense she was technically already dead and it was the only way to keep her alive#Stephen Moffat#rtd#doctor who spoilers#doctor who#belinda chandra#the doctor#new who#nuwho#doctor who 2005

kleya and luthen conversation transcripts: season 2 [arc 3-4]
typed these up for me and @agentsofquack to have on hand and thought people might also appreciate having them for quick reference needs! [S1] [S2 Pt.1] (speaker alternates on line breaks and brackets indicate an action)
Season 2, Episode 9: Welcome To The Rebellion | 17:50-18:30
"She threw him out. We don't know if she's speaking, what she'll say, or how they'll react. All we know about Bail Organa's team is that there's something wrong. It's hardly ideal. There's no choice but to try."
"We have nothing. He's never even been inside."
"Erskin knows the building."
"Putting a lot of faith in Erskin."
"Mothma knows the building."
"And doesn't trust me. And doesn't know him. Bail's people might be there already."
(Cassian) "And? If she gets arrested?"
"It all comes down."
~
Season 2, Episode 10: Make It Stop | 4:32-5:12
"Tell me you're ready."
"We'll meet at the old steps."
"There was construction the last time I went through."
"We don't have time for alternatives. Keep your distance."
"I will if you will. [sigh] Look, going like this is risky enough. Just promise me if it doesn't look perfect, you won't engage."
"I think we used up all the perfect. …..Move."
"..Tuck your shirt in."
~
Season 2, Episode 10: Make It Stop | 9:37-10:15
"Ghorman. Scarif. Kyber. Krennic. Erso."
"Galen Erso. Galen."
"Engineer Galen Erso. Super weapon. Based in Scarif. Fuel from Ghorman. Kyber from Jedha. ISB Krennic. Galen Erso."
"And you know where to go?"
"..No. [inhale] No, no. I'm doing the comms-"
"No, you're not."
"I'll be faster."
"I'll do the burn."
"Luthen-"
"Please don't argue. Just be waiting for me. Just be there. …Go."
~
Season 2, Episode 10: Make It Stop | 31:10-31:50
"Well done."
"Am I your daughter now?"
"When it's useful."
"I have to think about that."
"We'll be whoever we have to. It won't always be up to us. I'm Luthen now. You're Kleya. Everything else is up for grabs. I didn't mean to upset you."
"I'm not upset. Just hungry."
"[holds up credits] Let's eat."
~
Season 2, Episode 10: Make It Stop | 34:56-35:40
"When do we start fighting back?"
"We have."
"By walking away?"
"We fight to win. That means we lose. And lose and lose and lose… until we're ready. All you know now is how much you hate. You bank that. You hide that. You keep it alive until you know what to do with it. And when I tell you to move, you move. Move!"
~
Season 2, Episode 10: Make It Stop | 37:26-40:15
"How many do you think there are?"
"Fifty. Maybe more. You're not eating. It's a beautiful place."
"How long do we have?"
"Look around."
"I knew you'd do this."
"Think about where you are."
"You're backing out."
"You need to pay attention. Life shows us what we stand to lose. Most people look away. We can't be like that. Look at me. You need to accept what you're leaving behind."
"All right. We're here. It's a pretty place. None of that matters right now. You're just being sad."
"I need to know you're making a choice. I lived most of my life.. without ever realizing that was a possibility."
"You're afraid."
"I'm only afraid of what I'm doing to you."
"I know what I want."
"[places detonator down] Do it."
"You think I won't?"
"You have every right."
"Why are you doing this?"
"Because today, it's real."
"You promised."
"I lie. Get used to it."
"[goes to push detonator]"
"[stops her] Don't. [pushes detonator] ..Look at me! ..And turn. We'll be leaving now. We made our choice."
#the rule for these has been only conversations exclusively between luthen and kleya but the ep 9 one featuring cassian is the exception#since he only has 1 line after kleya and luthen start talking#also im aware labeling this arc 3-4 as though these conversations aren't exclusively from eps 9 & 10 is kinda funny#but it's technically true!#typing these up was very sad btw!#information from the kleya database#kleya marki#luthen rael#kleya#luthen#andor#andor series#andor season two#andor season 2#andor s2#andor spoilers#andor s2 spoilers#star wars#SW

Went down a bit of a research rabbit hole and found this analysis of the musical structure of "Take Me to Church". The use of and twist on the amen cadence is sly and brilliant and pretentious as fuck in a really great way.
#hozier#take me to church#hozierposting#i love when artists are just so unrepentantly weird in their work#the other singer-songwriter that comes to mind who does this is vienna teng#she wrote a song about a marketing database ffs#and 'stray italian greyhound' is about the revival of hope in politics#be strange; be yourself#the type of people who are into that will find you

Controversial Opinion
What’s the obsession with enneagram 4? I genuinely don’t get why there are so many people so obsessed with this type.
I get that there are some people that just romanticizes some of the mental illness aspects of them HOWEVER mental illness isnt an inherent E4 thing and neither is personal struggle I can see why they correlate that to 4s (maybe cuz of the pseudo depression naranjo described on his work however thats just a false image they portray so?) , which mostly stems from terrible understanding of the type. However the increase in mistypes? The obsession with the SX4 subtype? The obsession with the toxic aspects of E4? Idk I just don’t get it.
I’m asking from a place of genuine wonder cuz this has been going on for a long time. And I want some clarity as to why it happens.

Why don't you love me anymore?
为何你转身忘了
Why have you turned your back and forgotten?

Crushed, crushed between your teeth

Those vows we made so sincerely
为何我抱头哭着
Why am I crying with my head in my hands?

from a reader pov it's very cool how the human heretics are numbered according to their names, but if you try to be watsonian about it, you have to wonder who exactly chose this specific classification system, and why on earth they thought it was a good idea
#like this isn't a codename situation#there's gotta be *thousands* of different heretics#why would you sort them like *that*#instead of by type or origin or something#all the human heretics are 000-something and then you have jiayi at 0601#i guess it works if you think only they matter#but imagine a new human heretic shows up and “their” number is already occupied#wdyd#i became a god in a horror game#ghg thoughts#ghg#i was thinking of my databases class...#this is something you gotta think about well before you do it okay?#like. are you *sure* this won't make your life a nightmare later

My Thoughts on Popular Personality Websites
Inspired by conversations happening in the comment section of this post (shout out to @istj-mbti and @flayedsheep )
16 Personalities
Ah, 16 personalities, the enemy of the MBTI community… I’m joking… kind of. In all seriousness though, 16 personalities is really more similar to the Big Five personality types, than it is to MBTI. It can be a great tool… just not for understanding MBTI.
If you take it, you might get an accurate type, but more often than not… you won’t. I’m an INTP, and for the longest time, I always got INFP or INFJ on this test. My ISFP friend and ENFP friend both got INFP, and my INTJ friend has gotten variations, from INFJ, INTP to his actual type.
It has a big intuitive bias, and even though most of the MBTI community rejects this website, I definitely feel like this website is responsible for the intuitive bias present in the community. The biggest flaw however, is the disregard for cognitive functions.
And I get it. Cognitive functions are complicated and not everyone wants to sit down and learn the cognitive functions, and they really wanted to market this test for general audiences
I do think that alot of people who get into MBTI, start with this test, because it is so universally used in schools and jobs and stuff.

Personality Database
I have mixed opinions on PDB. Hypothetically, it’s a great place for discussions, when it comes to fictional characters, but like most MBTI forums it can turn sour very quickly, and it’s filled with people that have varied understanding of MBTI or enneagram.
Like, you’ll have a lot of adults who have been into MBTI for years and have a strong understanding of all the types, you have people who are just learning what cognitive functions are, then you’ll have teenagers who have just taken the 16 personalities test.
So in general, typings on that website are very hit or miss, but it’s a really great place to start when I’m unsure about a character typing, and want to see arguments other people have. However, I really hate when people use the typings on that site as the end-all-be-all of character types.
I mean, look at this?

Anna and Mirabel? ENFPs? I don’t have a super popular opinion on Anna’s typing but… ENFP?! Really? Also, how tf is Mirabel ANYTHING but an Fe user?
I agree on the consensus for Mulan though.
Sarkinova.net
I do think that out of the majority of the MBTI tests online, this one is the most accurate, because it takes cognitive functions into account. However I do have a few concerns with it, the first being its so long lol.
I know that they want to get the most in depth understanding of a person, but a lot of the times, it just feels like they are asking the same questions over and over again, but with different wording, and that can make it frustrating, and a lot of the time, I don’t finish it.
Not to mention, even though this one is more accurate than most, there are always flaws with these types of test. No test will be in depth enough to understand you enough as a person to give you an accurate type. This is another test I’ve taken multiple times and have been given a different type.
Though I will give the test credit, this one has been given me my actual type before… so at least there’s that. I do think if you’re going to take a test, this one is a good one to take.

MBTI Online
No judgement… but I am begging people to not pay 60 dollars for this test. You can find ones that are just as good for cheaper, or even better yet, free. This test isn’t going to give you anything any other test will.
I do know someone who spent the 60 dollars, and still got mistyped by it sooo… yeah. If you really want to take it, by all means, go ahead, I just wouldn’t.

My soul dies a little every time I see a normal person in a casual context bring up which characters have the same MBTI as them simply because 9 times out of ten that's not even the correct MBTI for the person OR the character
#MBTI#my opinions on it are ultimately it's a very flawed system full of holes that shouldn't be taken scientifically at all in any way#and every typology system is also flawed and vibes-based#however personality tests is not where it starts and ends. 16personalities is not MBTI it's big5 with worse questions#and even though personality database as an userbase has gone past “they're introverted so they gotta be an I type” shit#it still doesn't stop them from being egregiously wrong more often than not#don't get me started on people who get so caught up in theory they forget humans are multifaceted#typology is pretty fun for facilitating self-exploration and giving you some sort of framework to work with#and it's good for exploring and writing characters though I think only in the same vein as one would explore oneself#genuinely I think the impact it had on the way I understood myself or others was massive because I suddenly had something to work with#overall just being exposed to the idea that “different people think and value things differently” and list examples to start with is useful#especially when examples are given and some sort of rough categorization exists#it's just labels in the end that don't mean much or anything at all but they're nice#especially because they're not based on immutable traits like your birthday your race etc#by the way tests get my typology wrong almost every time. personality tests will never be the be all end all of typology

not to brag about being good at my job but I’ve now developed two separate tools for debugging entirely on my own within my company entirely from scratch without help and A. it makes my job so much fucking easier and B. my boss is thinks im incredible just because im too lazy to want to write the same bits of code over and over just for debugging purposes
#unimportant thoughts#one i wrote 2-3 months ago#but i upgraded it this week to add in even more#and its just. perfect now.#given an id from any of the programs we built and run in our company#i instantaneously return everything about it#its name; what it does; what type of program it is; what server its run on; when it runs; where it connects; the parameters needed to#connect to wherever it connects; whether the program is currently turned on; the last 10 times the program ran; how many minutes each of#those runs took; how many files each of those runs created; whether those runs were successful; code snippets you can copy paste and run in#another window to look at the files created by each of those runs; the files created by the most recent run; thise file names; those file s#sizes; what types of files they are; whether theyre encrypted#how theyre encrypted#all of that and MORE#most of the information was already there but it took fucking 20 minutes to get all the information you needed#and you had to run a bunch of different snippets of code to get all the information and then put it all together#and now you can just fucking pop in the id of the program and .02 of a second later all the information is on your screen#AND IT MAKES MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER#so. so. so. much. easier.#and then this week I wrote another program so I can compare runtimes of two different runs of the same program together based on how we stor#runtime data in our database#csuse i was tired of going back and forth manually between to different runs to compare#so now i have a program that just takes the ids of two different runs and compares them#doesnt even matter if the checkpoints are different I programmed it to figure out the order automatically and plug in any missing holes#finds the differences in runtime automatically and flags the biggest differences#and I can even customize how much of a difference I care about or to hide things I don’t care about
