Here, under the cover of shadow and the warmth of blankets, Suki wraps her arms around Ty Lee and leans into their embrace. Bare skin presses against bare skin and their shadows dance together, entangled and enamored. Suki opens her eyes and sees Ty Lee already staring at her, heavy adoration mirrored in her gaze. “You’re safe with me,” Ty Lee says. Suki holds her closer, as if together they can cover each other from any dangers the future presents. Hopefully, they will.

Azula tells Sokka that Suki is her favorite prisoner, but this isn’t exactly true. Suki is her favorite prisoner from a very particular distance and for a very intriguing reason. One of her girls has taken quite an interest in her, and this interests Azula. She sees the way Ty Lee looks at Suki when Azula brings her along to visit the Boiling Rock, sees the way she perks up at mention of visits even as Mai sinks further into her seat. She sends Ty Lee alone, once, with explicit instructions to terrorize the girl, just to see what might happen. Curiosity has always been one of Azula’s biggest faults, and when she sees the way Suki looks a fraction calmer the next time she visits —with Ty Lee in tow, of course— knowing and jealousy infiltrate Azula’s marrow. She puts an end to the visitations. She’s gotten all she needs from interrogating Suki, and Azula doesn’t think she wants the risk of overstepping her win.

It seems she oversteps it anyway. It happens in the blink of an eye —Azula tastes dirt for the first time in her life, and she finds it to be as dry as it seems. In retrospect, it isn’t a surprise that Ty Lee betrays her. Not only does she trust Mai more than her, but Ty Lee is helping the girl she likes get away while she betrays the Princess who captured her.

Suki can already feel all the ways she could break the knot on the ropes binding her wrists behind her back. From the subtle shift of Ty Lee’s shoulders against her back, it’s clear Ty Lee’s pinned the ways down too.

The men mutter among themselves, glinting weapons at their sides and devious intents for the nearby village in their heads. They’d thought catching Ty Lee and Suki off-guard and tying them up would be enough.

It won’t. The rope bruises their wrists, but by the time the hour’s out, the men will be the ones looking worse off.

Lemon Stings and Onion Tears: ficlet concept where Ty Lee and Suki are out for an off-duty walk in the woods, only to stumble upon a group of men who have designs on a nearby village’s bounty. Tied up and thought defenseless, Ty Lee and Suki only have to bide their time before they’re showing these men never to turn their backs on them.

“You haven’t been able to get up again,” Ty Lee says softly from the doorway, her voice a delicately placed step in a forest full of broken sticks. Suki, a lump under the sheets, doesn’t respond for a moment. A few moments. Enough for Ty Lee’s heart to being beating too fast. 

“No, I haven’t,” Suki says eventually. “It’s- the pain.”

Suki’s voice is stoic, controlled - what less from her Suki, brave and protective to a fault - but Ty Lee darts across the room without another pause and carefully wraps herself around her girlfriend’s form. Carefully, as not to trigger another painful attack. She spends a moment softly stroking the back of Suki’s head, before carefully breathing an idea into reality.

“I could try to help,” she ventures tentatively. “With- my understanding of Chi. I could do some manipulation. See if I can clear some residual issues in your Chi. Maybe that could alleviate some of it.”

“You think that would help?” 

Ty Lee shrugs. “It’s about healing, isn’t it?” What she means, and will not outright say, is if her knowledge of chi can’t help with this, what’s the point of it at all?

ameliorate: ficlet concept, set post-canon where Suki’s years as a Kyoshi Warrior lead to her suffering with on-set chronic pain, and Ty Lee hopes her knowledge of Chi might be able to help her with it.

Time seems to stop. Frozen, in that moment, with every eventuality spilling out in front of her. Ty Lee can only stare, at the red liquid dripping down the corner of Suki’s mouth, the glass half falling from her hand.

When time resumes, Ty Lee’s still too late to catch Suki before she collapses to the ground.

Flowers In The Throat: ficlet concept in which at a celebration, Suki drinks poisoned wine - and now Ty Lee must wait and see if she survives. All while thinking over the life they’ve shared so far - and how she doesn’t know how she’ll go on if Suki doesn’t make it.

@tysukiweek 2022 day iii: wine/thirst. (n5fw.)

It always happens like this. Every time they link. They have the time of their life —hang out at the beach, go shopping for new outfits, come up with new and increasingly ridiculous katas. But in the they always end up here. They should know by now not to drink wine around each other, but deep down, Suki knows they’re doing this shit on purpose. The innocent memories on the beach get chased away by their new outfits ending up on the floor, and their katas turn into kisses that smell of rosé. Suki can taste arousal in the space between Ty Lee’s inner thighs, can see it in the way their bodies curve around each other’s as their glasses of wine lay empty besides the bed. Suki can see it all, and what she doesn’t see is any semblance of intoxication. Yet that’s what they blame it on anyway, every time. She never thought her and her best friend would end up being the living lyrics to a song, but in the aftermath of her legs quivering from Ty Lee’s tongue winding her up, she can’t help but think —it started out with a kiss. How did it end up like this?

The very first bottle of wine that led to this (stored on top of her kitchen shelves) holds her answers, but Ty Lee is too warm in Suki’s arms for Suki to bother to look.

happy ffwf!! since the new year is upon us, tell me what fic you had the most fun working on in 2021, which fic you're the most proud of from 2021, and any projects you're excited to work on or read in 2022! (- thinkingisadangerouspastime)

Hi friend! The fic I had the most fun writing in 2021 is a tokka fic that I wrote for tokka week, newness and change. this fic was an absolute blast! Tokka has such great banter and easy chemistry so writing dialogue for them is such a fun experience. I also really enjoyed writing conversation between aang and katara and and between the four of them. There is something very easy about the energy in this fic. The world building and descriptions were also super fun to write, I completely fell in love with what little world of mine.

As for the fic I am most proud of from 2021, I think everyone who knows me knows it’s worship the flame. Writing this fic was like catching a dream that has eluded you for many moons. It’s an azulaang fic and writing it absolutely bewitched me, body mind and soul. Finishing it was like coming out of a haze and stepping back into the real world. I’m so proud of that fic and what it represents —I think my writing grew SO much and got significantly better and that fic is a huge reason why. The prose is one of my all time faves that I’ve ever written and the premise is so otherworldly, i truly am very proud of my work in this fic.

When it comes to projects I’m excited to work on, I have three that come to mind rn: a tokka fic that’s almost finished, a longshaang fic that is coming along very nicely, and a MASSIVE maikoda fic that is shaping up to truly catapult me into my next phase of growth as a writer. I’m super excited to continue working on all of these and for fics that I’m excited to read, that’s gotta be @shifuaang ‘s tysuki fic(s), a maiaang fic that @praetorqueenreyna has been brainstorming, more of @cats-and-metersticks ‘s iroh fic, and @justoceanmyth ‘s iroh fic. Thank you for the sweet ask, my friend!
