Mid-comeback season was absolutely horrible.

It would probably take legitimate hours for you to map out your hatred for it. Simply put despair always pulsed through your veins whenever Jihoon would give you a heads up that it was coming. Only a week before it was going to start. Not enough time for either of you to prepare or plan to be separated for weeks to months.

You just had to deal with the grim reality that your boyfriend would not be coming home, forced to stay at the dorms due to the complicated schedules. It always hit you hard while watching him pack, making sure that he had everything he could potentially need. Practically leaving your shared apartment devoid of him. He’d make sure to leave a few hoodies for you, along with his half empty bottle of cologne, to help make up for his absence a little bit. You’d stay glued to each other, until the dreaded text came that his manager was outside. Tears would be shed - mostly on your side - as you shared one last kiss before he left, the door closing behind him with such finality.

You’ve been doing this dance for two years, and the first night is always the worst. Curling up on his side of the bed, face buried into his pillow as you tried to ignore the ache in your chest. Shedding stray tears as you watched random videos you’ve taken of him, listening to his voice and laughter knowing it’d be a while before you saw him again.

By 10 weeks all of the heartache was gone. Sadness being replaced with a steady feeling of restlessness. Excitedly waiting for Jihoon to come home. Sitting on the couch clutching a warm cup of tea, watching the door carefully. You knew that Jihoon felt the same way, whispering into the phone late at night - as to not wake Mingyu - about how he wanted you to be back at home with.

Now you could only wait for Jihoon to arrive. He had texted you half an hour ago that he was close, but the company building was only 15 minutes away. Your nerves were making way for anxiety to stew, sipping on your tea in an attempt to keep them at bay. You refused to let your mind delve into the negative, knowing that Jihoon would be home any minute and you could curl up into his arms, making up for all of the last time.

While mid-sip the door handle started to jiggle causing you to put your mug down quickly, some of the tea splashing over the sides onto the coffee table. You stood up right as the door opened.

“Hi baby.” A smile spread over his lips, despite the look of exhaustion. His hair was stuffed into a hat, from the tendrils curling around his forehead you saw that it was still blond. He hastily kicked off his shoes, and you ran to close the door behind him. He placed a kiss on your cheek, mumbling a ‘missed you’ before heading to the bedroom. You quickly followed him, making it just in time to see him flop onto the bed, duffle bags placed in front of the dresser.

“Come here.” When you got close enough Woozi pulled you down on top of him, a squeal leaving your mouth as you met his chest. His arms wrapped around your waist, as you got comfortable on top of him, angling your head so you could look up at him.

“How were the shows Hoonie?” A long sigh left his mouth.

“They weren’t bad. I’m just grateful to be back with you.” You couldn’t help the fact that the corners of your lips curled up, heart skipping a beat at Jihoon’s simple words.

“I missed you so much. But come onnn. I don’t wait almost 2 months just for you to say ‘not bad’.” Jihoon flicked your nose lightly at you mocking him, another giggle leaving your mouth.

“If you want to know so badly, I’ll tell you.” You curled up into his chest, listening to his stories about the many different shows that they performed for. How grateful he was to be able to perform in front of a crowd again, despite their lack of size. Even mentioning how Hoshi decided to put sneezing powder all over Seungkwan’s pillow when they stayed in a hotel, a plan that quickly backfired as they shared one bed. You laughed hearing the boys' antics, feeling a slight twang since it’s been so long since you’ve seen them too.

“It never gets easier to leave you.” Woozi’s voice broke the silence, and you realized you both had dozed off. The room was much darker, the setting sun casting an orange glow across everything.

“It never gets easier to have you leave.” Woozi only hummed, his hand rubbing soothing circles over your hip.

“One day I’m going to marry you. Wanna know why?”

“Hm.”

“You’re always here, no matter how long I’m gone.” You hmphed again, tilting your head up to see Woozi already staring at you.

“I’ll always wait for you. You know that I love you.” Woozi was the one hmphed, leaning down to place a kiss on your temple.

“You know what you haven’t done since you’ve been home?” Another hum. “You haven’t kissed me properly.”

Woozi let out a loud laugh, but quickly obliged, changing your positions so that he was sitting up with you straddling him.

“Do you deserve a kiss?” You poked out your lips in a pout, knowing that he couldn’t resist you.

“You’re the one who was gone for 2 months. Do you deserve a kiss?” Instead of answering Jihoon leaned in, swiftly connecting your lips while his hands moved to cup your cheeks. You grabbed his shirt, keeping him close to you while he pressed more into the kiss. Satisfaction flooded through you, warmth running all the way down to your toes. Kissing Jihoon was your greatest form of comfort. It was the equivalent of drinking a nice cup of cocoa during a snowy day, cuddling up underneath a blanket in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Once you ran out of air you both pulled away, keeping your foreheads together. So close that all you had to do was tilt your head up to kiss him again.

“I don’t care where work forces me to go. It doesn’t matter as long as I can come back to you. Just knowing that I have you here is enough.” You felt heat rushing to your face, fighting the urge to smile at his cheesiness.

seokmin is an infp, which is the mediator. i actually float between this personality type and infj (the advocate, which is also what wonwoo jihoon and minghao are), so seokmin and i are very similar in a lot of ways - our differences come from our zodiac signs i think ㅠㅠ; infps are actually really rare! yet seventeen has four KDJFSK they value harmony and authenticity and they always have the best intentions - which!!! IS SO SEOKMIN!!!! he will always see the best in people and always act with the best intentions! he is kind to a fault! what a sweet baby.

ok, here’s the breakdown. under the cut. tw seokmin best boy

seokmin is so shy. he doesn’t seem it, because when he’s with svt he goes BUCK FUCKING WILD but in reality he clams up around people he’s not super comfortable around. example: that one picture of him standing with yuju from gfriend where he looks like he’s gonna shit himself kJHFJS or when he was filming his solo parts for the mama performance and he kept saying how nervous he was without the members. he’s super reserved around people he hasn’t known for forever. he even tends to be quiet on variety shows, only really doing his fun comedy bits and talking when other members prompt him (which is almost always jeonghan or seungkwan don’t get me started). infjs (like isfjs) tend to keep a very small group of friends that they are very open and seemingly extroverted with, which is why we get to see seokmin’s genuine personality a lot. he is so fully himself when he is with seventeen and i think that is so beautiful. that being said, infps also are the most social introverts. he makes friends everywhere, and genuinely cares about all of them. his excallibur castmates have said that he was such a bright loving personality on stage and behind the scenes, and he would always visit and support them even after they stopped working together! he went to plays they starred in and posted pictures with them, telling carats to go support them too. you can tell they really appreciated this, because they would return the favor and go to seventeen concerts to cheer him on!

seokmin’s intuition is no joke. he seems a little naive at times, but he is also extremely good at looking at the big picture of a situation and deciding what needs to be done, ie. when they were leaving the venue during ttt he was seemingly the only one that remembered they left a giant mess in the kitchen. that being said, infps skip over details a lot. he also is SO FUNNY like he is genuinely the FUNNIEST MEMBER in my opinion because he just understands every situation so clearly. he’s able to take something a little mundane or whatever and comment on it or react in a way that’s REALLY FUNNY like when they were driving home from ttt and mingyu said he could buy the walnut sweets JFDSKJDSF mingyu wasn’t expecting him to say yes bc they’re such a common treat and seokmin laughed at first but hten immeidately was like “oh actually yes order them” and gyu was like ??? but seokmin kept just saying “stop talking to me order the walnut sweets pls” GODD THEY’RE SO FUNNY i literally cry laugh at shit seokmin does like i don’t know how he does it he’s the funniest motherfucker i’ve ever seen.

he seems like the most understanding member of svt to me. the others are too, ofc, but seokmin’s on another level. infps also feel very deeply and genuinely. as an intuitive personality type, he is immensely empathetic, but not in the same way that jeonghan is. seokmin feels other peoples’ emotions like they’re his own. he sympathizes fully and completely, and i think he tries really hard to internalize that as to not seem so emotional all the time, but as soon as the facade cracks he starts cRYINGGG like he’s a BABY he can’t help it he just FEELS SO MUCHhhh. idk if anyone else notices this but he always repeats what is being said? i find this to be related because he is actively listening, and his way of showing is affirming with short responses every few sentences. he seems like such a good person to go to when you’re struggling and want someone to comiserate with. seungkwan is someone you go to when you need advice, but seokmin is the one you go to when you want to vent, because he’ll immediately match how you’re feeling about the situation and empathize with you.

i think seokmin also tends to take things personally? i think he’s gotten better about this in recent years and instead uses it as a joke, but you can tell it still bothers him sometimes ㅠㅠ like, okay, so seokmin posted that picture for seungkwan’s birthday and said something along the lines of “do you remember when we went out to have fun and fought? sorry i couldn’t be better” etc so in boo’s birthday live he explained the situation because it was resolved nicely. he said that the two of them went kayaking with jeonghan (which, btw, booseokhan are literally married and i am the most spoiled carat ever) and got in a little disagreement about something menial, and seungkwan thought it was resolved quickly, but afterwards jeonghan was driving them and seokmin put on a song and boo was like “oh what kind of song is this?” as a joke, but seokmin took it personally and got sulky. but then him and jeonghan danced to anysong and honestly who can blame them. it seems like every time he gets in a fight with other members, he thinks about how he doesn’t want it to tear them apart, so no matter how mad he is, he tries to find a way to resolve it. like with the gray bag incident JDHFKJHF he said that he thought if he didn’t pick up the bag, mingyu might hit him. he was mad and thought he was in the right, but he didn’t want the argument to escalate, so he did something he didn’t want to end it where it was. also, when jeonghan went live during seokmin’s live, saying “those who want to watch dokyeom watch him, those who want to watch this watch this,” and seokmin got all sulky about carats saying they wanted to see what jeonghan was up to. he laughed and said he was kidding, but then he was like “i’m not fun anyways.” whiCH leads us to...

"BYEEEE GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DATE".

Soonyoung stands in front of me and I look at him. So is it him?

"You were great today!" He says excitedly, high giving me.

"Oh thanks leeeeeaaadder" I say and he laughs.

"So, are you going to join the Tigers?" He asks me.

"I don't know if I can handle doing something for the showcase, that's the only reason why I'm holding back" I explain and he nods.

"you don't have to join the showcase if you don't want to, just join us for the food and parties" he says and adds "Dokyeom does that too half the time".

I wonder where's my date. I don't know if it's Soonyoung. You'd think someone be more upfront then beat around the bush, if you like someone you know.

"Okay I'll see" I say and his phone goes off.

"OH your date is ready, don't worry it's not me" he says and opens the practice door for me.

My jaw drops.

Chan.

Of course.

It makes so much sense.

But I don't know what to think about it.

"HAVE FUN BABY TIGERS" Soonyoung yells, running down the hallway, waving goodbye.

I walk further into the practice room.

It changed completely.

Before the floor had drops of sweat everywhere, but now it's covered with mats, pillows and blankets. I look up and see Chan staring at me.

I can feel my cheeks heat up and I stand in front of him.

"This is incredible... I've never had someone do something so romantic for me" I say and add "thank you".

"I- u-um you deserve it. I've liked you for a while now... The dating form just made it easier for me to be honest about it" he tells me. I can tell he's trying to own it, but he's still shy, unable to look me in the eyes. He's nervous and I get this urge to comfort him.

I reach out for his hand and intertwine our fingers together.

"Don't be nervous, it's just us two" I say and add "I'm not judging you".

He nods. This is kind of awkward, like it's cute but it's also tough. I just want to get to know him more. He reaches over to the Bluetooth speakers and turns it on.

"Dance with me?" He asks and I nod. He presses play on the speaker.

I can feel him loosen up as he holds my body close to his. We begin to sway and he begins to smile more as we dance along.

I almost trip over my feet and we both start laughing. Chan's grip on my waist probably the only thing saving me from falling.

We go back to swaying together and he can't stop smiling at me. I can feel myself smile along with him.

____ Chan's POV _______________________

Y/N and I continue dancing for a while, just smiling at each other but then staring into each other's eyes.

There's so much I want to say to her, but I don't know where to start. I want to get to know her more but I want to put everything out in the open.

"AH!" she squeals, breaking my flow of thoughts. She's about to hit the ground but my reflexes pull her close to me, grab her waist and carry her up.

"Wow" she mumbles and adds "I didn't think you're this strong".

"Watch this" I say.

I spin her around and she's laughing.

"CHAN!"

Oh I wish she can be mine.

I place her down and she smiles at me.

"Do you want to watch some movies?" I say and she nods.

___ Y/N's pov __________________________

Chan has some serious blanket fort making skills, the fact that he built this in like 10 minutes is insane. It's covered in fairy lights and all the pillows and sheets are white.

Him and I have been eating and just chatting about how life has been treating us and trading funny stories of our friends. He seems more relaxed now and I prefer this side of him.

"Done eating?" He asks and I nod. He packs up all the food containers and cleans up around us.

"Good food choice by the way, can't go wrong with Chinese food" I say and he smiles.

"Yeah, Soonyoung got Hao and Jun to give food recommendations" he mentions.

"I'll be right back" he says and I nod. I hear him leave the practice room to probably throw all the rubbish away. I scroll on my Instagram and take a photo of the blanket fort to post on my story.

I lay back down in the blanket fort and Chan comes inside.

"Can I cuddle up with you?" he asks and I nod.

His arms instantly wrap around my waist and he pulls me closer to his chest. He pushes my messy hair away from my face.

"So.."

"So.."

Why is it awkward again?.. have I done something?

"Hmmm, I got a question, do you want to travel the world?" I ask him. Okay he's relaxed again, not as awkward. I don't know what's making him nervous though, we've hung out more than once. I'm not a scary person either.

"Yeah of course, I think there's so much out there that we can learn and experience, things that classes won't cover" he says to me and I nod.

"Agreed, where would you want to go?" I say.

"Japan. Hands down. I know a bit of Japanese"

"What? That's so cool, I'll have to take you with me then" I say.

"Please do"

"I have a question for you, Y/N" Chan states.

"Oh my god, that sounds so ominous" I respond, laughing lightly and add "what is it?"

"Do you remember the Tigers' afterparty?" He asks me.

"Little bits of it, I drank a bit too much, I had a little hangover the next day" I explain.

"I think that's when I knew for sure I wanted to date you, I think I tried like three times to get your phone number but I kept on backing out each time. I also think you got Jun and Hao to stop teasing me at one point of the night" he says.

"I don't remember either of those things but I do remember us being locked in the pantry as we tried to get cups for the alcohol" I say and he laughs.

"Oh yeah there's that too, like it was  stuffy but I don't think I cared cause I was with you" he says. I blush.

"that's smooth" I say and he laughs at me.

All of a sudden, Chan's phone rings and he sits up, grabs the phone and picks up the call. I follow suit, sitting up with him.

"Hey Soonyoung, what's up?"

"Yeah it's good so far"

"What?"

"You're kidding"

"What do you mean? How did you accidentally lock me and Y/N in?"

"So, what are we meant to do?"

"We have class at 8am, you do know that right?"

"I can't believe you man"

"Okay bye"

___ Chan's POV ________________________

I cannot believe he took the practice room keys home and has lost them. This means we need to stay the night in this practice room.

Usually, I'd be happy since it means more time Y/N but this is a bit far.

"What happened, Chan?" She asks me.

"Soonyoung thought it was a good idea to go home with the practice room key, locking us in" I explain.

"for how long?"

"rest of the night"

"You're kidding" she says, and adds "can't he just come back and unlock the door?"

"He lost the key, so we'll need to wait for the cleaners to open the doors in the morning, I'm really sorry Y/N" I say.

"No no, it's not your fault" she responds.

"I just have to call my brother though" she says and grabs her phone. She opens it up and goes to speed dial.

"Hey Cheol, don't get mad"

Y/N puts the call on loud speaker for me to listen.

"What happened?" He asks and I hear another voice.

"HI Y/N HOW'S THE DATE?!"

"Not now Hannie" her brother says and Y/N laughs.

"It's good but we've run into an issue.." She says, trailing off. She holds my hand. Is she nervous?

"What is it?"

"no protection?" The other voice says -Hannie I think the name is.

I would not be so lucky to have her in that way on the first date. I don't even know if she likes me, let alone want me in that way. Things between us are still a little awkward.

"Han not now, she's trying to say something important" her brother says.

"Protection is important?"

"My date's friend locked us both accidentally in one of the buildings and we'll have to wait till tomorrow morning" she explains

"Where's the key?"

"Lost. Hence, waiting for tomorrow morning for the cleaners"

"You're not lying to me?"

"Don't you trust me?"

"Come on Cheol, why would she lie about being locked in a uni building? If it was the default 'i'm staying over at Seungkwan's' then you can assume she's lying but not do anything about it"

"So you're saying no matter what, I should just let it go?"

"Yep"

"Cheol, I promise I'm not lying" she says.

"Put your date on the phone"

"Y/N DON'T DO IT"

"HEY YOU'RE MEANT TO HAVE MY BACK"

She begins to laugh and rolls her eyes. I laugh along with her.

"wait Y/N? Am I on loudspeaker?"

"ARE WE? Oh my god he heard the protection comment whoops sorry Y/N"

"yeah you're on loudspeaker" she says.

"Hey Y/N's date, you better not do anything funny, I get angry easily and it's not going to look good for you, you hear?"

"Oh my god, please don't listen to him" Y/N says, instantly. I laugh again at her reaction.

"Chan's so shy and awkward, he wouldn't dare" Y/N says to her brother. Surely I wasn't that bad... I was nervous but I didn't want it to be that awkward.

"Ah I see" her brother says.

"Aw see it's fine, he's probably not going to do anything, he's harmless"

"I'll be back tomorrow morning to report everything" she says.

"Okay okay, go back to your date"

"Bye bye" Y/N says and hangs up.

___ Y/N's POV _________________________

"...was I really that awkward?" Chan says to me, shyly. Oh no.. I must hurt his feelings. I didn't mean it in a bad way.

"I didn't mean to offend you.." I say and add "it's just I feel like I have to initiate everything, and that you're walking on eggshells. Like it's cute at some points too".

He nods. He stares directly at me and I know something in him has changed. He's not that shy boy anymore, it's like that charisma and power he has is back.

"You don't understand... I've wanted to be yours for so long, and I never thought I'd get a chance" he says.

It feels like so much pressure.

He sees me as this amazing person.

I don't feel like I am.

"You see me as this incredible person... I'm not all that" I say.

"Didn't you pull Hao and Jun through that stock market subject?"

I nod.

"Aren't you the most loyal person to your friend Seungkwan?"

I nod.

"Aren't you the girl in our class who's known for being on top of it all? Being the smart person that you are?"

"I'm not smart I just work hard" I respond.

"Isn't that better?" He says and asks "are you the good little sister who calls her brother up to make sure he doesn't worry?"

"I wasn't always good to him"

"Aren't you good to him now?"

I nod.

"I don't know every detail of you, I know that, I know there may be flaws but I also know the good aspects of you outweigh the bad" Chan says and adds "I want to get to know you, I know you'll be worth it".

That's a lot to take in.

How can you feel so strongly over someone you don't know too well?

"...does this make sense?" Chan says.

I nod.

"please say something" he says.

"I'm sorry, I'm just trying to find the right thing to say" I say and he nods.

"What's going through your head right now?"

"Firstly, thank you for being so open and honest with me, I appreciate it, it's not easy. Especially since you know I've gone on a date with your friend and will go on more dates probably with other people. Secondly, I don't know if I deserve you... You make me feel like a better person than I am. Thirdly, how are you so sure on your feelings? I'm second guessing myself constantly" I say and he holds my hand.

"Well, to address the first statement, you deserve to know how I feel about you, and I think it's better if everything's out in the open rather than you guessing how I feel. Also, those other dates don't stand a chance" he says, chuckling and adds "not every date ends up with getting locked in the same room overnight".

"Secondly, I'm not that great either, I was super awkward remember?"

"HEY the awkward is cute, it's fine honestly... I just didn't want it to get in the way of getting to know each other" I say and he laughs.

"Cute?" He says, raising his eyebrows at me.

I lean over and kiss his cheek "cute" I confirm.

Oh. Wait did I just do that?

What came over me?

He's blushing.

"I guess I'm sure on how I feel cause I've felt this way for so long" he says and I nod.

That makes sense.

My feelings change so quickly that I can't even keep track anymore.

"Can we lay back down? I'm getting tired" he says and I nod. He pulls me into his arms again.

I stare up at him and admire his features. His jawline is strong and defined, even when relaxed. He closes his eyes and I can see his fatigue is kicking in.

"I tell you one thing that doesn't make sense" I say and his eyes open to look at me.

"What is it?"

"How are you both shy and confident as hell?"

"It's like a switch, depends which mood I was set to." He explains to me and I nod.

"Like when you were dancing to the song Soonyoung suggested for the solo, it's felt like you were coming after me but then when I walked into the room after practice it's like uwu I am shy boy protect me please" I say and he laughs at me.

"You're the only one I'm going to allow to say uwu. Anyway, like I said it's a switch. What do you mean by coming after?" He asks me.

"Like you're staring at me, and your eyes are telling me 'you are mine' and then when you're dancing, it's so passionate and powerful, it's like you're telling me 'this is what you're missing'. It's like being attacked" I say and he laughs.

"do you like it?" He asks me and winks.

"I'm not answering that" I say and he moves on top of me.

Okay whatever that switch is, it's been set to confident Chan. He's staring at me and leans into my ear.

"You can answer it you know, I won't use it against you, it'll be only for you" he says, lowly.

Oh my god okay, now I'm the shy one.

This is really hot. He is really hot.

I just wanted to question and compliment his duality, I didn't mean to get into this situation.

This man is attacking my feelings, I cannot handle it.

He stares at me again and says lowly, "Come on, just admit it, Y/N, I'm yours."

"...yes" I say and before I could even add anything to my confirmation, he kisses me deeply.

I close my eyes and hold his face gently. We continue kissing for a couple of minutes, his arms wrapping around my waist. Little hums here and there come from the both of us before he pulls away.

Chan begins to laugh and then I realise. The roof of the blanket fort fell on top of us.

"Yeah, thanks blanket, I was just trying to admire this man and you're getting in my way" I say and Chan laughs at me more.

"Who said it had to kill the mood?" He says.

Well if that's the case.

I pull him into another kiss and he moans instantly. He flips us over so I'm on top of him. The blanket rolls off the both of us and the cool breeze hits our warm bodies, causing me to shiver. He starts smiling into the kiss and I begin to giggle.

He pulls away and says "I don't want to stop kissing you".

"Then why did you?" I ask him.

___ Chan's POV ________________________

Damn it, why does she have other dates?

I know it means I just need to step up but I hope she can see how great we can be. How good I am for her.

"... Your brother is going to kill me" I say.

"What's the actual reason, Chan?" She asks me, instantly.

"... You have other dates" I admit.

"You don't feel comfortable going any further until I'm yours, right?" She asks and I nod. She got it. Instantly.

"I understand, there's no pressure, I'll just keep kissing you" she says, sweetly. Kissing my forehead, then my cheek, then pecks my lips. I do the same and we end up laughing at each other again.

"You think we can sneak kisses in during practice?" I say and add "I'm asking for your sake". She laughs and punches my shoulder playfully.

"We'll just mention we need to refill our water bottles like 100 times" she says and I laugh.

"Sounds like a plan... We should start heading to bed now though" I say and she nods.

I hug her tightly as she cuddles up to me again. This date was good. Had a bit of rough patches but it's all worth it.

We know where the line is between us and now it's just up to me to prove to her that I'm the one and it's up to her to choose.

"Good night Chan"
