Some inspo for how I want to edit my ultimate decades challenge series. I came across this comic that represented a medieval aesthetic with a bold and graphic twist. I’m struggling with finding an editing style that fits with the sims 4 (I don’t want the editing to fall into medieval manuscript territory) but also feels medieval (the aesthetic I was just playing around with felt too modern). I like the bold graphic quality of these images while still feeling medieval.

July 2nd, 1317: Greenfield Home, Granite Falls:

"Mama, Phillip's sick."

Those words would live in Emma's head forever. It isn't that she didn't notice that Phillip's health was deteriorating but it seemed to get worse overnight. It broke her heart that her three year old was the one who had to alert her mother to what was happening, but she was also so proud of her daughter for knowing what to do.

At first, he was alert even if he looked ghastly pale and had a faraway look in his eyes.

Lettice wanted to help care for him but there was only so much that she could do at her age. In order to distract her, Emma set her to work folding their laundry (particularly the diapers) into a neat little pile so she didn't have to do that and could focus her energy on Phillip.

For days and days this went on. She took Phillip to bed with her at night, woke up and carried him around while she tended to his siblings, and then she would sit with him and try to nurse him back to health.

No matter what she did, there was no improvement. Sure, she'd see a smile or hear a giggle every so often but his health was only getting worse. To the point that he started complaining about being cold. Freezing.

Despite it being July, Emma set about making her son comfortable. She built a fire and sat herself by it with him in her arms. He did seem more comfortable, at least.

They sat there for a long time. She told her son stories, sang songs to him, anything to keep him awake. But eventually he could fight no longer.

Little Phillip, her first born son and second born child, died in her arms on the morning of July the second. Joining his father on the journey to paradise's gates.

Since the Sweating Sickness in 1485 Our Lady of Plumbub Convent has had three new initiates. The first two were Helen Mace and Mnemosene Miyazaki, a mother and daughter pair, joined after their respective husbands died. Helen died from a sudden heart attack in 1489.

After Cory Westbrook was murdered in 1487, the Sisters took in orphans Cardea and Decima Westbrook. Cardea has decided to work towards her vows and remain at the convent, while little Decima will decide whether she wants an earthly marriage or a spiritual one when she turns 13.

Lowell and Isobel chatted it up on the snowy streets and later walked to Lowell's little studio. They bonded over Lowell's crazy stories about being up on scaffolding, their knack for being active, and Isobel's terrible fruit puns.

Everyone in my save is related, so it is really difficult to find matches for marriage. I want to limit adding more families until it is absolutely necessary.

Medieval Default Underwear Collection

It's finally done! If you don't know, I love playing the Ultimate Decades Challenge. It's honestly what I play the most whenever I'm actually playing the game. My family is currently in the mid 1300's. One thing that's always bothered me is that the default underwear in CAS doesn't quite feel immersive for UDC gameplay. So I decided to create this collection for just that! It replaces the default underwear for all ages and genders, is compatible with WW, and all meshes are base game compatible. However, if you run into any issues with the meshes and possible missing packs do let me know. This was my first foray into really messing with the game meshes, and I am not at all skilled in meshing yet.

Good to know:

You can only have one set of default underwear in your game at any given time.

These conflict with anything that replaces the default body mesh in CAS, such as Luumia's TIT-E, Hiroki's BB, etc. You could have both in game at the same time, but, you need to make sure the game reads these files first if you want them to show up. Placing them in a folder named "!! DEFAULT UNDERWEAR !!" for instance should make the game read them first. But it is not foolproof, and you may need to mess around with it. Defaults can be sensitive and finicky.

The child female shift does have some clipping if your sim is wearing a two piece outfit and you only remove the top, since the dress is actually a top. The bottoms included are a recolor of the default panties for child females in the same style as the dress as to not ruin immersion with bright blue knickers, lol. There's also a small gap in the mesh that I just could not fix for the life of me. However it is very small and only noticeable in some trait animations.

See images below for what the underwear looks like. Toddlers and infants have the same cloth diaper with side ties which I felt was kind of appropriate for the era?
