Narrative wise, Rose should have been the one to have a crisis over being in a story and wanting full Narrative control just to ensure that they all don't stop existing in Hs2.

Dirk could have made a good story but they did it for the wrong reasons and with the wrong ideals for him. He's more fanonised and got dumbed down, which makes sense with the whole splinter situation. But its another shitty Hal and Dirk arc rehash. Just this time its without the stark contrast of Hal and Dirk being the same person via technicality, but being 2 entirely different people perspectivly.

Rose is someone who prides herself on the sheer knowledge of the human mind, Literature, and character archetypes. That it would totally shatter how she views herself knowing SHE is SOMEONE ELSE'S CHARACTER IN A STORY

Imagine the interesting arc of her breaking down her own brain and having an existential sensory meltdown trying to figure out how much is "her" and how much was created to be her. While also trying not to manipulate the people she loves dearest but desperately wanting to "keep the story going". Sort of a slow villainous arc, wanting to do good but in all the wrong ways.
