hi! do you have any news of the umeno okiya? i stopped following them once Umechie retired - have things gotten better for maiko who debut there? has anyone ever heard anything from Umechie again, was she maybe able to make her dream of being a geiko come true in another city? thank you!

Umeno is mostly functioning just as an ochaya right now and only has geiko Umeha registered on the okiya side of things. I haven't heard anything about former maiko Umechie, so I just hope that she's doing well with whatever she's chosen to do in life ^^

The dancing fans of Geiko and Maiko of Kamishichiken are made with a similar design, with 2 colored bands made of 3 lines each, over a gold background. However, where the Maiko’s dancing fans have red lines, the Geiko’s dancing fans have green lines.

Today, February 20, 2021, Umeno Okiya is proud to present the newest Plum Blossom to the Karyukai- Umecho! Umecho-chan will have her Omisedashi this evening at Umeno Ochaya in Kamishichiken, Kyoto, Japan. Omedetou san dosu, Cho-chan!

Yes, Shigemori, Komaya, Toshikimi, Kawahisa, Yoshifumi, Masamiya, Masunoya, Odamoto, and Umeno all have websites ^^

Gomen yasu! I completely forgot about my tumblr account! I haven’t posted updates in a year!! I’m so embarrassed. . .ヽ(〃v〃)ﾉ Quick recap? - I am online in a virtual world called Second Life.  - I am training to become a Second Life Geiko.  - I am a Second Year Maiko as of February. My geimei is Umechō.  - My okiya is a homage to the real life Umeno okiya, because it is Umecha Okaahan’s favorite okiya, and she wants to make the Second Life experience as real as possible. She’s working hard with partners to create our Kamishichiken world for you to enjoy.  - You could say we are a group of super fans of this culture and lifestyle: something we could not do in reality.  - We currently house 2 Geiko, 1 Maiko, 1 Minarai, and 2 Shikomi.  - I believe the okiya does have open enrollment, currently, for those who may be interested in joining. But do be patient with responses. Our first lives have been very active.  - I am planning to open a business on sim. o(〃’▽’〃)o /end recap.
