More Uncle Scarecrow! This time with even more Angst
----------
It doesn't take long for Crane to notice the way his nephew holds himself. He's seen war up close, the kind in the streets, the kind between hero and villain. And then there's the wings. Or, rather, the lack of. The cloak Danny wears like a security blanket is almost enough to fool him, surely would fool a wingless, but Crane knows what to look for. His nephew can't fly, not by himself, the fact clearer than day.
Jonathan confronts him one day, worried. "Danny, what happened to your wings? Your parents, they didn't-"
Danny's eyes widened and he shook his head, cutting off his uncle. "No, no, I did it myself..."
"... what?!" He froze at Danny's expression, wondering just what had happened to him. "Sorry, what happened, if you want to share..."
"It... I was showing off to my friends, I was... electrocuted-" he shuddered, prompting Crane to wrap his arms and wings around him, causing the boy to hug in response. "Mom and dad had to take me for... an amp-"
"Shush, I heard enough, please don't push yourself."
Danny swallowed thickly, and looked up at him, tears pricking his eyes before he quickly wiped them off.
Crane may be a villain but he knew he had better lab safety than to let an untrained person, let alone a fledgling, into such an environment. He idly wondered about dropping off a canister of gas with his brother's family, though he supposed that would come later.

Hello!
Love all the recs you post here. I found a ton of new fics <3
A little question, do you have any fairy tail au fics? Already read 'The Rose and the Serpent', 'Give it a shot' as well as 'Angel in Cinders' but I would love to find more
~🌺
Hi. You’ll want to check out our #fantasy au tag which has a fair few fairy tale fics on it. Here are some more for you...
Fairest by lilliankayl (T)
(Snow White Retelling AU) Aziraphale has no memories of his father and very few of his mother. His father died when he was an infant and his mother remarried shortly afterwards. When his mother died just before his seventeenth birthday, his stepfather’s true colors were revealed. Now on the run and taking shelter from those who will help him, Aziraphale must never let the king find him, for it will surely mean his death if he is found.
The Scarecrow by AppleSeeds (M)
The last surviving member of his family, Aziraphale inherits a crumbling 14th century cottage from his uncle. Staying in the cottage to catalogue his uncle's collection of rare books, Aziraphale combats his loneliness by speaking to the scarecrow in the neighbouring field. He awakes one night to find the scarecrow in his bedroom, mouth torn open, speaking to him...
Crowley was cursed by a witch and turned into a scarecrow over five hundred years ago, but somehow Aziraphale's presence is changing him into something more human. While Aziraphale works to break the curse completely, the two of them spend a great deal of time together and find something special within each other, both discovering what it truly means to be free.
Our Arms Were Once Wings by Ecchima & RiYuYami (T)
“I’m… I’m going to be a swan, for the rest of my life?” He asked, in a quiet voice.
Crowley was still not looking at him, instead, he was scratching his neck and seemed to be looking towards the lake again.
“Not… exactly. Only when the sun is out.”
“What do you mean by that? Are you saying that I can be human again?”
“Only at night.”
--
A Good Omens Swan Lake/Swan Princess au with a bit of a twist.
Tail as Old as Time, Swan Song as Old as Rhyme by Kedreeva (T)
Deep in the countryside, surrounded by a black-mirror lake, sits an abandoned manor, long since victim to some kind of magical catastrophe. Nothing lives there, nothing living will come within a mile of it, save for the one strange, graceful black swan that swims the moat, guarding the derelict home from anyone that would intrude.
And for almost a hundred years, none have dared until Aziraphale unwittingly stumbles in, on the run from his family.
The Dragon's Scheme by The_Bentley (E)
Crowley isn't your average dragon. He prefers a more civilised life of drinking wine, collecting art and gardening. Also, he decided he would rather have a friend than spend a lonely existence terrorising faerie villages like dragons are supposed to do. Desperate for a companion, he hatches a surprisingly successful plan to get one.
But the relationship blossoming between him and his new friend, the faerie Aziraphale, has attracted unwanted attention. Gabriel, a travelling merchant who seeks the elevated status of a hero, is determined to "rescue" Aziraphale from Crowley's "clutches". And Crowley's clan, tired of his antics, would prefer to evict him from his home in favour of a more compliant dragon.
Crowley's clever little plan to get himself a friend might not be the only scheming going on. Gabriel's interests just might converge with the dragon clan's. That could spell trouble for the dragon and his faerie partner.
Villainous by IneffablePenguin (E)
Once Upon A Time…
There was a red-haired sorcerer who lived alone in a high tower. And a blond prince who lived in a palace full of people. And they were both of them desperately lonely.
The Kingdoms of Empyrion and the Sorcerers of Apollyon have hated each other for hundreds of years, ever since the Great War. They do not interact, other than to occasionally try to kill one another. And they certainly do not make friends.
Crow is an exhausted sorcerer who just wants everyone to leave him the hell alone: for the Sorcerer’s Council to stop harassing him to live up to his potential, and for wannabe Empyrion Heroes to stop attacking his tower to try and kill him. Until one day when he meets Prince Azra of the High Fells, who doesn’t behave anything like he’s supposed to…
Part fairy tale, part fantasy, all love story. There’s magic, and grand romantic gestures, and Heroes and a handsome Prince, and a Villain. There are even some wild heroics, though not necessarily from who you would expect. At its core it’s simply about two (relatively) sane people living in a mad world who find each other.
The smut isn’t until later chapters.
And I believe the three you mention in your ask are...
The Rose and the Serpent by Atalan (M)
AU, retelling of “Beauty and the Beast”. Quite honestly, sending Aziraphale off into the forest to be held hostage by a giant snake in a cursed castle isn’t even the worst thing Gabriel’s ever done to him, and at least it means a change of scene. But then neither the snake nor the castle turn out to be quite what he’s expecting…
Give it a Shot by walking_contradiction42 (T)
When Aziraphale, prince of Tadfield, gets captured by the famous outlaw Crowley he can only think of escape. But soon he discovers that Crowley and his merry people are much different from the stories told about them. Crowley absolutely despises all royals and the stupid inhuman taxes that are causing the people to live in misery. But he can’t help but feel intrigued by Aziraphale, who seems so different to what he expected. Okay and maybe he has the tiniest bit of a crush on him.
Or: The Robin Hood AU that nobody (except me) needed.
Angel in Cinders by ShesAKillerQueen98 (M)
(Good Omens Cinderella AU) Ever since Aziraphale's mother remarried, his life has been nothing but misery. Before she died, she told him to have courage and greet the world with kindness, even if it doesn't give him the same kindness back. Lately, Aziraphale has been finding it harder to follow that advice. But when the royal family announces a masquerade ball to celebrate the birthday of the youngest prince, who bears a striking resemblance to a mysterious young man he met in town, things go from bad to worse. All he wants is to attend the festival. But perhaps with a little luck, and perhaps some magic, he can find happiness.

ML x Batman: Arkham’s princess AU headcanons part 1
Next part
Here’s the first part details about my “Arkham’s princess AU”!
This part focus more on when Marinette just got to Gotham, the next part will focus on her daily life in Gotham and how she handle her duties as Ladybug at the same time.
Some of thoses ideas have been suggested by @itskarmalone (thank you by the way! ^^)
Warning: This AU content salt don’t like don’t read and English is not my first language so sorry if it’s confusing.
-After all the event of Marinette’s birth, all the villans that protected Sabine became unofficial (thought some official) godparents of Marinette.
-Thank to the changes and new therapies Bridgette introduced in Arkham, the Rogues showed good progress, yes they are still criminals but they are way less rutless and psychotic than before, heck, even the Joker become saner.
-Bridgette has been able to make Joker’s and Harley’s relationship way more healthier thank to many therapy sessions, they’re not “lovers” anymore and are now more like “friends” or at least “acquaintances on friendly therms”.
-Marinette knew the story of her birth, her parents told her about it when she was 5 years old when after a day at school on which some of her classmates talked about their godparents, she asked Tom and Sabine if she got Godparents too.
-Once the “godparents” found out that the “Arkham Princess” was back in Gotham they warned Bridgette (Harleen and Pamela in a lunch meeting) and Batfam (letter by Riddler in a Jack-in-the-box made by Joker) that they will sometimes “kidnap” Marinette for a few hours and tutor her the basics to help their godchild to grow. Batman was skeptical at first but Joker insisted that he or one of his birds could hang out with them to supervise the tutoring and to join in the lecture if they wanted.
-The classes goes by the following:
Harley Quinn: Psychology and street smarts.
Poison Ivy: Botanic.
The Riddler: Calligraphy and Linguistics
Mad Hatter: Literature
Two-Face: Law and Criminal Justice
Joker: Workshop (mainly engineering)
Mr. Freeze: Science (focus on cryo-chemestry)
Bane: Languages
Scarecrow: Science
Kite Man: Aerodynamics
Killer croc: aquatic/combat sports
Catwoman: gymnastic
The Penguin: Economic and business studies
-Catwoman  didn’t meet Marinette when she was a baby, she hear of her from the other Rogues who often were rambling about an “Arkham’s princess”.
-She officially meet her as Selina Kyle through the Waynes since she and Bruce are dating. After chatting with Marinette Selina was charmed and she decided to made her her honorary “kitten”.
- Marinette knew they’re criminals, but they were the ones that protected her mother and helping her giving birth to her so she has complete trust on them.
-The Rogues, with her parents conscent, give Marinette ways to be stronger:
Pamela give her a potion that make her imune to all kind of toxines
Joker inject her a serum which make her imune to his laughing gaz and joker venum
Mr.Freeze enhancing her body to endure conditions more extreme for the comon human (takes her longer than average to suffer from heat stroke and hypothermia)
-Marinette is naturally imune to the fear gaz, the Rogues find out when she has been exposed to the gaz by accident and when a panicked Scarecrow was about to give her the cure he will notice that between the time Marinette was exposed to the fear gaz and the time she got the cure she didn’t react at all as if the gaz didn’t work which confuse everyone. She explain to them that she faced worst so don’t had to worry about the gaz, in hope to reassure her godparents, in particulary poor Scarecrow who feared he traumatised her because of his gaz.
- But it didn’t reassured the rogues, on the contrary, this made them freak out.
-<<- It’s okay uncle Jonathan it was an accident! And beside I endured worst so don’t worry about your ga...>> <<- WHAT?! WHO HURT YOU? WHO’S CORPSE WE WILL HAD TO BURY?!>>
-At the same times in Paris Lila and Hawkmoth got a sinister chill in their spine having, for some reason, a bad feeling about the future.
-The Rogues never, and I say NEVER, harmed Marinette it’s a golden rule among them: no harm of any kind must happen to their little princess
-The only “thing” they did to her is “branded” her with a symbol she wear on her clothes.
- It’s a symbol mixing the letters J for Joker, I fr Ivy, H for Harley/Hatter, K for Killer, P for Penguin and F for Freeze/Face. The letters were under a halo as well as wings on the begining of the J and at the end of the F (the shape of the right wing makes the F look like an R for Riddler and on the left wing is lettered an S for Scarecrow).
-The Rogues thought that it was the only way to warn rival gangs and enemies (as well as the Justice League) that if they mess with their god child, her godparents and Batman will hunt them down and depending which one gets them first will be the reason why they’re left alive or killed in sight.

Another bout of Uncle Jon Angst
So, in this AU, a strong enough ghost will have wings of its own, showing the fact that it is powerful, akin to how some animals have different marks to showcase danger. Clockwork switches between a Pygmy owl as a child, barn as an adult, and snowy as an elder. Pariah is crow through and through. After Danny became Pariah's Heir, he was gifted a cloak made of Clockwork's feathers, constantly shifting, with Pariah's mixed in as well, since they technically ghost-adopted him. This makes the cloak not only even more comforting beyond its weight to Danny, but a very powerful artifact in its own right. Pariah has also had most of his abilities sealed by Clockwork so someone can directly watch the ghostling that is Danny. So he's stuck in a crow form sticking with Danny (thank you @hallowsden for the Crow AU!) and protecting him. I HC Pariah as having a shadow core, which means he can vaguely form in dark areas, but it's kind of like Johnny's shadow beast. Another detail, I have written that only Halfas can become Ghost Kings/Queens, which means Pariah was one once. By sealing him and sending him with Danny, Clockwork hopes to restore some of his humanity. (Why do you think the Observants were so quick to want to kill Dan? They had seen it before in Pariah). Thankfully, it does work, though slowly.
Final note, Crane wasn't going to let him skip school, and Johan Welch is an asshole literature teacher at Gotham High (not the Academy). He also wasn't going to use his last name so the Bats could track the poor boy, so he used an old name the family dropped ages ago to enroll him. Anyway, actual thing is longer than the others and I've already said so much that... boom, an actual Read More! Also, it's midnight when I'm posting. 😅 Finally, Trigger Warning
It describes some of Danny's accident, including the loss of his wings, and shows a panic attack.
Danny was no stranger to bullies, whether it be lunch money, tests, or a punching bag they were after. He was also used to teachers who pushed their rules, who played favorites and sneered at those they thought of as less. At least he had his cloak, a secure weight upon his shoulders, much lighter than the crown he would day wear.
Mr. Welch seemed to zero in on his sour mood. "Nightingale?"
A sigh escaped his lips. "Yes, sir?"
"Tell me, in the Silmarillion, what is the moral behind the oath of Fëanor?"
He stared at the board a bit before glancing at the book in front of him. "I'm not certain, I think it’s that you shouldn’t promise something if you can’t actually do it?"
The teacher sighed. “No, Nightingale.”
There was a snicker behind him, Danny ignored it.
“Yes, Atkins? Can you answer?”
“Choosing violence in the heat of the moment will almost always end with suffering.”
“Good job.” He looked at Danny. “Now, was that so hard?”
“But-”
“You got it wrong, Nightingale.”
Danny hadn’t realized how close the teacher was until the cloak was yanked off his shoulders, feathers scattering. “No! Give that back!”
“You can have it after class is over.”
The laughter that had been bouncing through the room suddenly stopped at that; all the students knew better than to take another’s prized possession. Some money, maybe their homework, or even a jacket? All fair game. But anything that was clearly precious? You never knew how the kid would lash out.
Danny watched as the teacher walked away, but he did not take stock of the room itself. His wings, they were gone, seared away again. And he shook, like the shocks that wracked his form, mouth aiming to scream the silent terror that took over as his vocal cords were fried and healed time and time again until he had made his way out, wings in tatters, the scent of burning meat hovering over his f-
“Ghostling, you are not experiencing that anymore...” The tone was deep and stern, the barest hint of kindness underneath the ancient voice, mingling with a soft sorrow..
Danny continued to shake, but leaned into the cold warmth of armor and shadow. He had no idea where he was or how he’d arrived, but he was glad his p̸a̴t̷r̵o̸ was here for him.
“I guided you to a dark space as well as I could, it is hard for me to show after all.”
Danny didn’t pay too much heed to the words, merely listening to the soothing tones and trying to calm himself.
Pariah was determined to get that cloak back quickly, It was an important gift to his heir, and was too powerful to be left in the wrong hands. But, right now? All his focus was on the ghostling. “You can see the glow of my eyes, yes?”
Danny slowly looked up at his face and nodded weakly.
“What else?” Pariah mused as he waited for a response.
“The... light under the door...”
“Good. Again.” Perhaps it was a good think Tik had trapped them together in a loop until Pariah learned how to help the ghostling.
“Uh... there’s shelves in here.”
“Can you find anything else?” Thankfully, ghosts could see well in darkness, though Shadow Cores like himself did even better.
“I think I see a mop? P̸a̷t̵r̴o̷, are we in a closet?”
“Are you feeling better? Can you name something you can feel?” He hoped he didn’t forget anything until Danny was fully calmed.
“A... bit.”
He felt a smaller hand grab the figment of his own.
“I... can feel you, sorta. Your armor, your... essence..?”
He nodded. “What else?”
“The... floor. It’s solid.”
“Good. Give me ano-” Before he could finish, Pariah’s connection to the shadows was lost as the door opened. His form lasted not even a second in the light, but his hearing caught the reaction of both his heir and the intruder. Suddenly, the door was slammed and he felt the connection grow again, sighing softly as he returned. “Call your uncle,” he hesitantly began, hugging the ghostling again. “I don’t think you should stay here the rest of the day.”
“But your- my-”
“The cloak will be returned, I assure you, and whoever picks you up will make certain it is returned.”
Danny sighed heavily, and clung to Pariah as he fished his phone out of his pocket.

Probably a tad ooc but I'm going the reincarnation route, and doin a few name liberties, and going to hit a few time periods. Specifically, Salem, Victorian, and Modern.
This will probably go on AO3 later but its just a starting scene.
(I am on mobile so no READ MORE but here's Salem, short as it is)
----------
Clockwork had seen many versions of these very same people, all except for one. Daniel was an interesting case, always the same person no matter how many lives he went through, always immortal and yet he would not be born for many years. No, the time was ripe to focus on the Fenton-Nightingales, just as that name cursed them for eternity.
Jackson Nightingale threw blood blossoms at the witch and the ghostly, beastly bird that followed him around. But he held none of his usual exuberance. “I told you, Jonathan, it should have gone when father did, repent and you will be free from the hold of the beast.”
“You know what father-” the word spat like poison “-did to me! This beast is of his own making, and yet it is the only piece of him that gives me any comfort.”
“Do you not hear your own madness speaking? They are coming with the flames, do not let me see what becomes of you...”
“Never state me mad, brother, if I can even call you that.”
“If you are not sickened, then release that beast and repent!”
“I refuse to ever be rid of it, even if I could."
“Then I cannot save you...” Saddened by his failure, Jackson turned as the bonfire was lit, unable to watch his brother burn.
Jonathan was quick to lay the final verbal blow, as his form began to morph, skin molting into feathers with each lick of the flames, his own mind all but tearing at the seams. “You do not know what father did, so I swear to bind you and any other Nightingale! Even should the name be wiped from history, those who once carried the name shall take the form! Shall feel the pain father wracked upon me! My bloodline ends here, but yours will not, brother. This is a promise. Pray yourself lucky if we never meet again.”
-----
He's literally the guy who cursed himself, but their dad is the guy who started him with the beast before he grew into it or something in later lives.

This one is more a character thing and who I've figured out have wings.
Also, more focused on DC here, so they'll have little blurbs, but DP is just a blob of info.
Bruce Wayne was a distant descendent of Jonathan Nightingale, many greats-grandson of his only daughter.
Mrs. Nightingale fled Salem, heading north to the Gotham Settlement. Her husband was to be taken to the pyre, with no knowledge of his future child, but she knew there was no way to save him. She didn't know about the curse he had placed on the Nightingale bloodline to torment his brother, only knowing of the experiments his father had done to reawaken the long dormant bloodline.
Elizabeth was born normal enough, and the feathers never truly became wings, but they were a blight upon her back that many refused to touch. Eventually, though, she managed to marry, and her last name changed to Wayne.
Because of the nature of the curse and magic lineages often being stronger than genetic ones (depending on how the magic is curated for the lines), those Bruce Wayne takes in as his children find themselves with wings of their own, fledglings with one kind that mature into another as they grow up.
-----
The Drake's name came from their duck wings, something Janet did not like, but she'd married in for another reason. Besides, Jack seemed to be happy to let her handle Timothy most days after he was born, it was just a matter of making him agree with her.
"Remember, Timothy, keep your wings close to you, you don't want to cause problems, right?"
Sometimes, Tim could still hear his mother reprimanding him. Like that time he tried to fly.
"Timothy, no! Get back here!" She looked at the guests, and apologized to them.
After that night, he hadn't tried to fly again. Sure, short glides were used while he was following the Beasts around. But he never flew.
And when he joined the Beasts? He slowly lost even his ability to glide, wings burning away as flame robin feathers, the same kind Jason had had, slowly replaced his own, replacement holding yet another meaning once Jason returned.
Eventually, he got better, he grew new wings, the tattered ones burning into a deep crimson of a cardinal. He found out who he was, and learned to fly.
-----
Dent also has wings, but, sheet his accident, one was left scarred and burnt. Eventually, he gets a prosthetic, but he doesn't wear it when he's not flying because it's uncomfortable to wear.
People have made jokes about Harvey and Bruce being angels, Wayne with his flecked snowy owl wings, and Dent with his pure white egret feathers. While Bruce helps from above, with his charities and search for the future, Harvey strikes from below, using the law to the best of his ability, finding every loophole he can to help the victims.
But then he was burned, and the angel fell from grace. Half his body scared, wings blackened like a raven, charred like hell descended, warping the great one's mind.
-----
Jonathan Crane came from a family with literal crane wings, but the Nightingale Fenton lineage won out. Eventually, though, his wings take the form they were supposed to, better matching his lanky frame.
The experiments and abuse he faced at his father's hands left his wings battered and torn, the black sheen far from the white of the adult in front of him. Certainly, his father's wings were tipped with black, but it was nowhere near the depth of darkness that Jonathan had. Jon, though, was glad his parents had separated. His father taking him, leaving his brother safe with their mother.
As he aged in this abusive environment, an old friend of his past self began to show, taking interest in Jonathan, until he was broken enough to call on it, though it wasn't the creature's fault, the supposed father was more demon than the beast at this point, and the entity was glad to take the fledgling out of there, all but old enough to handle himself in several matters anyway.
-----
Jim Gordon has hummingbird wings. They're part of a family curse, if you want to see it that way, only passed down to the males of the family. Barbera doesn't have them, and isn't sure how dominant they are in regards to passing them down.
••••••••••
The Fenton family, aside from Madeline, have wings. However, Jazz's were acquired though the magic of the lineage and not the blood, as she's actually Harley Quinn's daughter, given to an old school friend (Madeline) to be away from the Joker.
Danny Fenton lost his wings when he gained his scars, but, like any powerful ghost, will grow into them. The most notable ghosts with wings, however, are the ancients.
Dorathea and Aragon both have leathery wings. These are tied to their amulets though and not their natural ghost power.
Sam's parents have wings. No one can figure out why she doesn't though.
Tucker somehow built a jetpack.
Ghost Writer has wings and uses his feathers as quills instead of using a typewriter. He also collects other ghost's feathers, with permission, to turn them into quills as well. These ones are in a collection though and not to be used.
Wes has wings as well, from his dad's side, though his father refused to stay in Gotham with her (Ives' sister), and took the boys with him.
••••••••••
At the moment, this is everyone.

Today's second post was supposed to be 'who has wings'? Instead, you get more angst
Jonathan used to babysit Jazz and Danny when their parents went to conventions. It was easy enough, but he couldn't help but notice he may have been spending more time with the fledglings than their parents, especially when he turned out to be the one to teach them flight, which he couldn't even do himself.
Eventually, contact became less and less, and he stopped babysitting. Perhaps it was for the best, he'd been at odds with Jack as of lately, and one too many Arkham visits probably left a canyon between them.
When Danny showed up, singed, wings gone, Jazz nowhere to be seen? Well, Danny was a first priority, but he was quick to ask about his niece.
He thanked Gotham, not that there was much to thank for, that Jazz had escaped earlier. Part of him wondered why Danny didn't go to her, or why she didn't try to contact him, but it wasn't like he had his address out there for the public or the clan to find.
-----
Jonathan, wondering: How did Danny even find me?
Danny, flying through Gotham, practically blind from exhaustion, dropping his ass next to the first family energy he found: Yo, halp

Less of a story and more of a worldbuilding ramble. Also, figured out mobile RM!
Anyway, first of two posts.
Wings aren't that uncommon among the masses, especially not in Amity or Gotham, where an abundance of magic and ectoplasm flow.
The first of the winged were from ages past, feathers as pale as snowfall, yet patterned with the barest flecks of grey. Some of them called themselves angels, others secreted themselves away. Few other folk knew what they truly were, though some worried that, be they angels, they were fallen.
Years passed, and the purity of the wings became harder to find. "Touched by sin," some called it, as the great wings of snowy owls darkened to those of other owls, if not other birds entirely.
And then arrived the crows and ravens, the ones thought demons if the owls were angels. Two sides of the same coin, both fighting for something it seemed, but nothing the lowly mortals were allowed to know.
Over time, the two groups seemed to blend together, until there were many winged folk of impurity, but many humans were still wary of them and their inhuman speech and feathers, leading to a low number of winged folk compared to the seemingly infinite amount of humans. And as more pure lineages appeared, of just a single form of bird, surnames began to emerge and morph as well.
Of course, curses and blessings can show themselves the same way, but differently, and those of wings were quite powerful in their own right, overpowering the natural lineages with time.
The supposed angels bled into the background, ruling from behind the scenes, while those who were claimed demons became the protectors of the good.
