i’ve said before that i consider unholyverse to be more a work of fall out boy rpf than a work of my chemical romance rpf because the my chem guys are like only incidentally the my chem guys but fall out boy is literally just fall out boy. however i like to think that there’s a parallel universe out there where unholyverse was never even related to mcr to begin with and was just a three book trilogy with original characters that bexless got published for real EXCEPT in that trilogy fall out boy is still just there

I have things to say about mcr fanfiction /pos

I don't usually make text posts, I'm more of a reblog girlie, but I gotta get this off my chest!! I'm having a tumblr revival era and it's all thanks to ffxiv and mcr ngl! Also I'm kinda shy to share this with my friends directly and needed an outlet lmao.

Anyways my things to say are: GHHGKGDNSBn, HTHYJUOLJSDLDF,,, HTGDK??! DHNGFDNDFJKM!!!

Who knew that watching the Foundations of Decay MV, falling in love with the song, going on an MCR album binge after seeing them at mcrla4 (dracula gerard night, 2022), getting post-concert depression and finding the mcr fandom thru discord would lead me to HERE. peeps are so talented in this fandom I swear, I started by reading a few danger days/killjoys fanfics (hence, why i created some OCs based on those you can see on my art blog @guusagi-art) and have devoured MANY since, I'm thinking of creating my own fic-rec post with my favorite fics so far! I'll be drafting that one very soon. I also read the BIG THREE infamous fics of the fandom, which unsurprisingly are all frerard LMFAO that ship is too powerful. So yes, the Unholyverse trilogy(?), Anatomy of a Fall and A Splitting of the Mind (which, btw, all of them were FANTASTIC I LOVED THEM SO MUCH YOU WONT BELIEVE, I'll have more to say about them in my future rec post) Despite the fact that rpf makes me uncomfy, those stories were so separate from the actual band members that I could suspend my disbelief and read them with no issues. (god guys I might be converting into the frerard religion i'm so scared) I also got into a few Desolation Row AUs cus god they were all so ho--ahem coughcough-- I am very normal about that MV :3c !

Btw this all happened in the span of 3 weeks and so far I have read and completed around 30 fics, yeah 30. Some of them were 1 chapter but still. I read really fast and my day job has been super slow??? I'm reading like 5 more soon that are on my list.

ALRIGHT so I RARELY read fanfics-- especially long ones (and this is a super fuckin long one) and I NEVER-- let me spell it out N-E-V-E-R-- NEVER read fanfics about ACTUAL REAL PEOPLE BECAUSE I THINK IT'S SUPER WEIRD

BUT BUT I was peer-pressured into reading this okay and I was thinking, "ugh fine, I'll just read part 1 and see how shit it is" and I was not expecting to take this seriously because I'm not really a fanfic person, I don't like shipping/writing about celebrities, and I don't even srsly ship Frerard

BUT I ENJOYED THIS SO DAMN MUCH I made it a quarter of the way through part 1, probably less, and I was like "this... this is fuckin good shit right here" I powered through the entire thing in six hours straight, only stopping once halfway through part 2, because I had to eat dinner, and by that time I was so emotionally invested in this story that I kind of ate dinner in a trance, like I couldn't think of anything else and I felt SUPER WEIRD

GAH THOUGH the entire time I was reading it (it's a good thing I was alone in the room lol) I was talking to the characters and laughing and screaming quietly and just reading parts of the story out loud JUST BECAUSE I COULD I think I said "oh honey" out loud to Frank like 50+ times I JUST FFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I've broken another personal rule again GREAT (the no-fanfic-abt-irl-ppl-it-is-creepy rule) but just like it was so well done that I just I didn't CARE I mean I can appreciate Frerard fanworks, I still think it's a load of bullshit though and idk, I think the fact that it's an AU helped me accept the pairing it seems less real and therefore less weird idk I JUST DIDN'T EVEN CARE THAT IT WAS WEIRD IT WAS WELL-WRITTEN AS FUCK
