I’m a going to make stuff

I have probably been making “stuff” all my life. I draw. I paint. I plant. I crochet. I embroider. I craft. I make. 

I think my hobby could be categorize as “collecting hobbies”. I always like trying new crafts and new patterns. It always ends in a lot of unfinished projects. 

The goal of this blog? 

To motivate myself to finish all my unfinished projects. 

To start new projects and talk about my process of how I made it.

To learn and improve my skills. (Mostly on crochet and drawing.)

To inspire others to create their own projects. (Many of my ideas are usually inspired from looking at other people’s creations.

To have fun!

So you might ask, what are these unfinished projects? Well not to worry, I’m listing them out so I remember them myself for future reference. 

1 Christmas C2C Gift

My ongoing (two year ?) Christmas gift blanket project that I have left untouched until recently. It’s C2C project that I thought I could finish in less than two months when I first started it (HA!)

To give you an idea of how massive it is, it’s 119 x 129 corner stitches and 4″ = 5 corner stitches. Currently I am only at the 79th row of this blanket. . . The plan is to finish it this year so I can finally give it to my parents.

2 Pin Banner

Banner to hang my pins. I have a lot of pins. I started this project way back in March 2018. Why did I stop? I debated about hand sewing vs machine sewing. You can guess what I chose. (Hint: The faster one.) 

Now I just need to borrow my mom’s sewing machine so I can finally finish this and another one for my brother. 

3 Sophie’s Universe

Oh, Sophie’s Universe... I love this project, but I really can’t just watch dramas/anime/tv shows and make you at the same time. When I work on this project, it’s usually just Sophie and music.

4 Miniature UP House

My miniature UP house. I bought this on Amazon about two years ago. Why did I stop? The instructions required a cm ruler to measure out the curtain size. I couldn’t find one in my house that day and put it off for two years..... 

5 My Side TV Project

My side C2C project. Remember how I said I can’t watch tv while working on Sophie’s Universe....well this is my tv crochet project when I want to make stuff while watching tv.

It may be a little rough around the edges but it’s home. 🏡 . Every year we have a family ginger bread house competition and this year we really tried hard. Usually we all have the same kits and the same decorations and it’s the quality of the building and creativity that varies by team. But this year clearly we can’t get together so we mixed it up a bit. . We take it seriously every year but this year we made CAD plans and scaled up drawings to get pattern pieces. 📐 We didn’t even win - a fix I say. Lovely to see family’s faces although today’s news has taken the smiles away at the thought of a even quieter Christmas. . It held for about an hour and after taking these pictures for the gram, the worst happened. 🏚 .
