I have a thing nowadays (I’m guessing a weird side effect of my brain fog?) where I need to draw most poses very simply before I can draw them seriously to be able to visualize them outside my brain and even begin to get them down accurately, so I have a ton of pages that are just kinda like this. So many little guys

my favorite thing about healthcare industry is doctors don't give you a diagnosis (i have things like 'unknown disorder' in my records) but also overprescribe you meds. often not caring that you're already taking other meds or that the meds they gave you will make your other conditions worse. straight up they don't even ask if you're on any meds and if you question 'hey this might not work' they either ignore that or start to argue with you. 'oh you want a magic fix! magic pill that will change everything! you're lazy and don't want to get better!'. then you go back to them and say 'hey that meds don't work'. and they don't listen and just prescribe you more of it. 'oh you need to take them for months to see any effects' even tho you saw that doctor 6 months ago and they just didn't look up your records, didn't prepare for the appointment or anything. like at best the meds won't work but at worst they cause harm. how many folks walk overmedicated because of either misdiagnosis or doctors failing to find the right treatment for them. but yea good luck advocating for yourself

I never assume a probably quite nosy like 6ish year old boy will end up sleeping in the room I stay in and what happens? Oh this Thursday and Friday he’s coming over and staying the night Thursday night, as if I even like dealing with kids, as if I don’t have a migraine and like he can’t sleep on the air mattress, as if I don’t have my shit in there that a kid can’t and shouldn’t be close to
For context I’m freeloading until I solve my chronic migraine pain problems then get a job that’ll pay at least some rent and move out, I’m borrowing a guest room basically, it was my dead grandpas after he stole it from me because I seemed capable of holding down a job for a couple years there, and then he died in 2021 and I moved back in in January and the 6ish year old used to sleep there when his parents decided to dump him on my mom and my grandma, ergo I must hide my shit so a little kid doesn’t mistake my meds or other things for stuff that’s cool to touch or mess with. I realize how much of an only child I sound like but Jesus he’s fucking little and probably damn nosy, I don’t wanna find out how damn nosy by him poisoning himself off my Advil stash or some shit

My migraine doctor prescribed me something known to cause birth defects and then mentioned birth control, like an afterthought, and I’m obsessed/in love with that like wow. Somebody put MY health before that of a hypothetical fetus. Also I got approved for a hysterectomy this week it might even be done by the same surgeon as my sterilization!

here's your regular reminder that if you consistently, regularly get headaches, you are almost certainly having migraines, not regular headaches.
MOST recurrent headaches are migraine headaches.
"migraine" does not mean "extremely painful headache." it is a type and source of pain, not a degree of pain. migraines can also include some or all of the following: fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound, visual auras, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, cognitive impairment, etc. these symptoms can be mild or severe and it may actually be difficult to determine if you have them. (who wants a bright light in their eyes during a headache?? i thought that's just how headaches were lmao.)
this is important because while aspirin, NSAIDs like ibuprofren, and other over-the-counter pain meds can effectively alleviate migraine pain, getting diagnosed with migraines allows for a wider range of treatments and preventatives.
it's also important because, in my opinion, your average general practice doctor is not equipped to diagnose you with chronic migraine. don't go to one expecting them to. a neurologist with migraine specialty is a better option, although a regular doctor can still be useful if they listen to you lol.
my life would be miserable and unmanageable without sumatriptan. and i never would have gotten a prescription for sumatriptan if i hadn't gone to my GP and said, "i have migraines and want to try migraine medicine," even though at the time i wasn't 100% sure that was true.
if you have chronic headaches, they're almost certainly migraines. if no one has said that to you before, let me be the first. start treating your migraines.
