Yo, I just saw your other post about if another synthezoid came to the academy and I was curious of how scarlet would react to meeting another synthezoid like him?

I think Scarlet would have a lot of...mixed feelings.

When he found the Spider Slayers, it was like finding long lost family. He was meant to be a team with the Spider Slayers. He was meant to lead them. He is made out of the same synthetic material as them. He is one of them.

It was like he felt some kind of responsibility for them. To get them off Hydra Island and somewhere better. (To me, I think that's why he went back to the Academy so soon). He was out doing his own thing, but now he's got these other synthetically, created, cloned beings who are in the same boat as him, but way out of their depth. Who knows how long they've been down in Hydra Island just...waiting.

So he takes them to the Academy and he's getting their little charging pods set up, and its like he's found this new purpose to drive him now that he knows who he is and how he came to be in the possession of Otto and Hydra.

But then, just when he found this group of people that is not only his new driving force, but an opportunity to learn and come into acceptance to who and what he is, all of the sudden they're snatched away again. Whether they were taken by force or they'd willingly gone with Kane, he lost them.

So I think finding another one, he would take them under his wing under a sense of kinship. I think he would likely be the first to show them trust, even though he has some of the worst trust issues in the Academy. But i think he would also stay guarded. Ben doesn't like vulnerability, and opening up with him is like pulling teeth, but SOMEONE has to show this synthezoid hybrid some kindness, and who better than him?

Yeah, I p much have the same thoughts as you, re: the new USM #1, even though I tentatively enjoyed it for what it was, and I'm baffled at all the WE'RE BACK!! reactions based on a single issue of set up that could easily go awry for various reasons, though maybe that's more of an indictment of where 616!Peter has been lately than anything else.

Re: the redundant title, when the new USM and the general rebooting of the Ultimate universe was first announced, I really did think it was 1610 existing again and that USM would be a jump forward in time where the resurrected 1610!Peter would be a married adult, so I was confused when I heard he hadn't been bitten by the spider as a teenager, and once I read it was a completely new universe with he same title, I was like, why would you do that (okay, branding and name recognition, obviously, but still) and now there are at least THREE universes with the same Ultimate title if you also count the cartoon.

Yeah definitely, I respect the cartoon as an adaptation that has at least as much to do with its source as say the Spectacular show has to 616, but this is a little wild. Where does Miles, now in 616, end up in this equation if this is supposed to be 1610 but with its past changed? That question is so absurd that I don't think you're supposed to actually pursue it. The USM branding just makes basic statements about the original Ultimate universe into future continuity confusions.

"You're crazy, Hammond. You're gonna get us all killed!"

I was watching TheRadBrad's playthrough of the Dead Space cashgrab Remake, and as it approached the end, I think the biggest problem I had with it by far was how they handled Zach Hammond.

The big draw of the game is the fact that Isaac has a voice in the remake. Gunner Wright does an okay job. It's pretty much on par with his other two performances in DS2 and DS3. I'm so accustomed to Silent Isaac, though, that a lot of the dialog for him (in the beginning) feels like "self-insert" dialog. It gets better towards the end (like there's a genuine sense that they were finding Isaac's voice as they figured out how to make him a proactive character).

But, regarding Hammond: I don't quite know how to put it into words, but Remake Hammond's characterization lacks any charisma. He's bland as hell. Anthony Alabi's performance isn't bad, but the direction and writing doesn't hide his 'okay-ness' as an actor. The story really makes Remake Hammond feel like an inexperienced commanding officer. There's no sense of wisdom or situational control.

The caustic the dynamic between him and Kendra Daniels is erased entirely, and I hate that. It played a big part in how Hammond and Kendra were characterized.

In the absence of it, it makes Kendra cop-jacketing Hammond more suspicious than in the original, because it's lacking that conflict (and the implication that these two people don't like each other before being stuck on a ship full of undead monsters).

Even with as little you got to see him in the 2008 original outside of transmission cinematics, it was how Peter Mensah characterized him that seemed to make him extremely present in the story. How he talks about helping Isaac find Nicole, how he tries to keep his cool when dealing with Kendra and the Necromorphs. There's also that sense of arrogance that comes with a position like his, that you see in his clash with Kendra (who also has an arrogance about her).

You don't really get that dynamic with either Kendra or Isaac in the remake. DSR minimizes Hammond's role in the game, by, I guess 'mid-point', when Isaac has to deal with hydroponics and the USM Valor. This appears largely in favor of the Elizabeth Cross and Jacob Temple subplot, and more back-and-forth dialog between Isaac and Kendra.

One thing I actually liked about OG Hammond was how little the Marker appeared to influence him. If anything poised a risk to Hammond's life, it was the deadly environment of the ship and the Necromorphs. The latter literally rips him apart, but he's of sound mind when it's happening. It hurts to watch him die so violently, even with Silent Isaac's exaggerated grief (or non-reaction IIRC).

The remake tries to insert this relationship with red shirts named Chen and Johnston to flesh Hammond out as a character. This is a change I would've appreciated if Chen and Johnston survived beyond the opening gambit to actually earn the ending they give Hammond. But they don't.

Hammond basically speed runs Marker Madness toward the end of the game, and gets a silly sacrificial death scene that leans hard on a relationship type that was better established in Dead Space: Extraction with Nathan McNeil and Gabe Weller.

I think Peter Mensah did a lot with the little he was afforded. As one of the two primary speakers in the game outside of Tonantzin Carmelo (OG Kendra's actor), he communicated the tension created by the no-win scenario that was the USG Ishimura outbreak.

And about Kendra Daniels, I personally loved how abrasive she was in the original, but this iteration of Kendra isn't bad (Brigitte Kali Canales is definitely the strongest performer in the game). I actually enjoyed the dimensionality they gave her (particularly in her dynamic with Isaac), even if they made her the "Evil Lesbian". I just wish they hadn't removed the beef between herself and Hammond.

(As far as remakes go, DSR isn't bad. It's a different take on the Visceral Games franchise. Some of its ideas land better than others. It just has the shitty luck of being a EA property still.)

The month is honestly killing me, I never realized how much I relied on you. How much of you I took for granted. I promise when I get back, I'm going to appreciate everything tenfold. A year has past or so snice I been in the Venom fandom and Spider-Man in some aspects as well. As I think it's time to talk about my very long story of how I got into this to begin with.

So this will be a very long story, so get yourself comfy if you wish to read it.

It all begins in the year of 2018. The first Venom movie came out or at least the trailer, at the time I was like "why are they making a movie about a villain for?" Yes this was my reaction to it and oh boy I was very wrong about that.

Because my only knowledge at the time was I thought Venom was the quote bad guy likely because of SM3, even though I didn't see that movie in full I just knew that Venom was the villain of the story. But also at the time, I didn't know who Eddie Brock was, I didn't know Venom had a host or even could do that and was just some evil Spider Man guy that was just some monster.

The only things I remember was I saw a handful of Venom fan art, I just thought people ship Eddie and Venom just for the fun of it and didn't know that they were a couple. I remember hearing that they were gay and heard it was a thing in the comics. And had that moment of "oh maybe I might give it a watch" and never got around to.

So a few years past and forget everything that I knew about that because it just didn't fully phase me at the time. And thanks to funny enough Ben 10 that kick started my love for aliens. Everything change in 2021 when I was at college in my class and saw one of the class members in there watching Venom: LTBC.

I saw and realise that it was Venom and had no idea that a second movie came out. I ask them about what they were watching and said it was the second Venom movie. I got me actually interested idk what happen but something just dragged me into it, maybe it was the universe had something plan for me.

Or maybe it was because early that year I was was watching USM cartoon with my boyfriend as we were going threw all of the Man of Action cartoons they have made. So seeing Venom in that got me interested about him even before.

Later my dad and my sister were gonna go off to see it and I just wanted to join because I just wanted to see a movie because last thing I saw at the time in cinemas was the Sonic movie. My dad said to me I could only see it if I saw the first one and later on we both sat down to watch it as in good timing it was airing on tv.

I know a lot of people have mix feelings of these movies but honestly I fell in love with it. With me already loving Ben 10 it gave me vibes of that in some ways. It had this very 00s feel to it all.

So once I saw it and realise how cool Venom was and he was just misunderstood and not really a villain more of a anti-hero. Even Venom saying he is a loser made me realise that he wasn't this mindless creature there so much more to him. Also the voice just making me think of a Ben 10 alien, that's also what was appealing about him and the first thing I thought of when hearing his voice in full.

Next was of course seeing the second movie, with finding out context about them being a gay couple in the comics, again after not remembering. It made me more interested in these characters even more.

So me, my dad and my sister all went to see and we all enjoy it. We all had a blast, I remember my dad and me laughing the most and I had the biggest smile on my face coming outta it. I never felt that happy in so long and finally finding a new interested to be fixated on after trying to find something new for so long, was satisfying to say at least.

Again people have mix feelings about these movies but honestly, these movies mean a lot to me. I love them for there goofyness and camp. They made me find happiness again, they made me inspired and so what if there strange or doesn't have the perfect writing or whatever. It was the just the vibes that made me love it the most.

Especially the rave scene part. That whole speech Venom had was simple at best, but it was touching. It something I needed to hear as it was the year I came out as bi online. I wasn't sure if I was being true to myself and thought I was lying to myself, however that moment with what Venom said made me proud of myself. So it was in a way all thanks to Venom for making me even more bi. (Then also later on found out I was gender fuild as well.)

I had a better understanding of things and myself and felt free. I use to be unsure of myself a lot because I forced myself to hide what I was really feeling in fear of what others might of said. Or being forced not to feel that way, that and I was also around some not so nice people at the time so that didn't help ether. Venom: LTBC was kinda similar in a metaphorical way to what I was going threw.

But yeah, after that I got into Venom and Spider Man too over all. From seeing fan art, fics and then reading the comics, I love the 90s Venom comic and some of the recent-ish ones too and also binging threw all the Spidey movies so I could be ready to watch Spider Man: NWH. Oh some of the Spidey cartoons as well.

Granted I did previously see the some of of Spidey movies as a kid. Like the Raimi Spidey films seeing 1&2 and a bits and pieces of the third one on tv. I saw TASM1 in cinemas and then Spiderverse way later on and both love those movies and so on.

But yeah overall Venom has done a lot of good for me. I'm glad to be part of it and with the many ups and downs I seen its made me learn to appreciate more things and so on. Without Venom I would of not met the amazing friends I have made or the stuff I drawn, or even braching off into getting into others things like horror and such.

Its done a lot of good overall and I wouldn't be here or be who I am now without it. Every little thing helped a long way to try new things because you never know you might learn something new about yourself, that you didn't know before.

I was so hungry and tired that I ate whatever was given to me.” What was on the menu? “There was roti and capsicum ki subzi, which was just capsicum in water. It didn’t strike me at that point.”

She also said how she managed to remain positive during her ordeal, “I started feeling grateful when I saw that many prisoners don’t have family support. Or they don’t have Rs. 5,000 or Rs. 10,000 for their bail. At least, I have my family and friends. I told myself, ‘You will get justice. You will get bail. You have not done anything wrong. I have so much to learn from these women while I am here. Why am I wasting my time sulking about what is not in my control?’.”

Chetan Bhagat asked about the toilet facility in the jails. She said, “Jahan pe aap sote ho, uske bagal mein hi hota hai. It’s obviously not the best. It’s one of the hardest parts about being in jail.” She, however, added, “The mental trauma is so much harder that the physical trauma starts paling in front of it. You think ‘Ganda bathroom toh manage kar lungi’.”

Rhea Chakraborty talked further about her jail life, “There’s a canteen in jail from where you can buy biscuits. Kabhi kabhi chana bhi mil jaayega. You get a money order from your family of Rs. 5,000 a month. You have to manage in that amount. Un paiso se paani bhi aap kharid sakte ho, which is better than the tap water in jail. Rs. 2,500 toh usme hi chala jaata tha.”

As for meal times, she answered, “You get breakfast at 6 am, lunch at 11 am and you get dinner at 2 pm because it goes with the British way of things. They open the gates at 6 am and lock you at 5 pm. Until then, you can take the shower, go to the library etc.”

Rhea continued, “Most people save their dinner and have it at 7-8 pm. However, I changed my whole cycle. Yeh khana toh waise bhi khaya nahin jaayega. Garam hoga toh fir bhi khaya jaayega. Thanda toh bilkul nahin khaya jaayega. Hence, I started waking up at 4 am and finishing my dinner at 2 pm.”

And what was her reaction once she got bail? Rhea Chakraborty stated, “I had promised all the girls in the jail that I’ll dance for them the day I get bail. They were like ‘Aap heroine ho. Aap dance kar ke batao’. However, I was heartbroken as my brother didn’t get bail. The jailer came up to me and said, ‘I have told them that you won’t dance’. But I told the jailer, ‘I want to (dance) for them because when am I going to see these women again? If I can give them a little bit of happiness in their otherwise hopeless lives, I want to give them. Hence, I danced for them. I did a full-on Naagin dance, that too on the floor, on the song ‘Naagin Gin Gin’. Everyone did a dance performance with me. They were so happy that I was going home. They told me, ‘Just be happy. Have a good life’.”

Yandere 90s Ock/ TSSM Ock/ USM Ock/ Raime Ock + S/O or Y/N + "In The Moment" kiss reaction

Y/N has finally escaped from Ock (again).

Albeit the first couple of times were a complete failure.

Another time, Y/N was able to get out...only to gloat way too early and had barely taken a step towards freedom before being YOINKED by a mechanical arm and back into Ock's embrace. It also really doesn't help how Ock admits that he wasn't able to find them until they heard Y/N shout: "SUCK ON THAT OCTAVIUS! WOO!" and caught them just in time.

But this time, it was a successful escape...and right in time during a lot of crisis as it turns out that NYC is facing some sort of distress (either an alien invasion or Spider-Man vs some other villain or whatever destruction).

Either way, Y/N is in the middle of the danger in their escape especially when things are being thrown at and around them with little to no cover as they try to run. It's ironic that Y/N in the moment is wishing to be back safe at the lair because if this was going to happen, they wouldn't have left in the first place and bided their energy for another time.

So, not only does Ock have to be fast to keep himself alive from what's going on around him, he's also gotta find Y/N and keep them from getting hurt or worst (while also making sure they don't get whiplash), and that's easier said than done.

Finally finding Y/N and without a moment to spare, Ock's able to pull them out of danger right and head onto safety. In spite of everything, Ock is relieved to have found Y/N, even if he is irritated that this wouldn't have happened if they didn't escape in the first place, and Y/N is just glad to be out of danger.

"Oh my god! Otto! You saved me! You actually saved me!" "Well-" Here comes the ego praise, but Ock is cut off by an 'In The Moment' show of affection/overwhelming display of emotion and given a "Thank You" kiss and hug by Y/N. Although he's definitely gonna look deeper into that and possibly make a mental note of the whole "I did save you from danger" fact if given a chance.

Man, you really messed up again, haven’t you?

You had once again tried to escape the clutches of the Mad doctor, and yet here you are, back in his arms yet again.

Well…that was last week, as he and the other members of the Insidious Six were called In for a meeting with the Kingpin.

He told you to stay out and if you were hungry, he had some lunch in the fridge and also had restocked your snacks~

So when he left, you checked if the man had blocked off your previous escape device, an old teleport he must have given up on finishing, which you did.

So you had used it to arrive yet again where you came from, some back alley in a destroyed warehouse.

You went on a search for your home, and meanwhile, a storm was brewing as suddenly, a vortex from the sky approached, and strangely dressed people were jumping out.

They were yelling about needing to feed on a “Totem” and destroying things, searching for someone…

You screamed and ran for it, hiding in a dumpster that seemed safe and unassuming.

You sniffed, and silently cried, as this was the worst thing you wanted, sure, you were kidnapped, but at least you weren’t killed. But more on the opposite side, he was lovingly doting you…

“Otto…I’m sorry, I should have listened..” You sniffed, and wiped your tears.

Suddenly, the dumpster opened up, and you felt something scoop you out as you screamed in fear and shook your head wildly, yelling to the person to let you go-

“Sssh, ssh….Schatz…It’s me.”

“Otto?”

He put you on his arms, carrying you like a young child, as your small form to him made you look even more doll like.

“Oh, Otto! I should’ve listened to you! I’m so sorry!” You said, and cried into his armored chest.

He patted you gently, as he calmed you down. “It’s okay, after all, I-“

Otto was interrupted as you gave him a quick peck on the cheek as he stopped and looked at you, resting on his chest.

His face was a bright red as he smiled and went off back to his hideout.

NGL You did kinda hurt his feelings pretty badly-

Tricking him and Insulting him? Yeah you went through a major guilt trip.

So, you shook your head and had to make a new plan by escaping without tricking him, which was hard to do, as the chubby and shy scientist was more intelligent than he seemed.

So, in your shared room that he kept you in, you knew that you had to take out the enormous iron bars that he placed in front of the window.

You noticed that they were screwed on by a somewhat common screwdriver, which you found in Otto’s “tool bag” and no, not the type he would use at work, but rather in a dark and foul-smelling basement.

Quickly, you unscrewed the bars and destroyed the window, jumping out and took off running.

You had ran a good chunk out into New York, when you finally got into the city, which was mysteriously empty.

“Hello?” You asked, and looked around, and only found nothing.

Oh yeah except for the sudden explosion ear you, as you saw a bunch of people with strange armor running around. “All hail Doctor Doom!!” They all shouted. You took a few steps back before retreating back into the alleyways, as you heard more explosions.

“I don’t want to die…I don’t want to die…” You silently whispered, as you found a tiny little space to hide in.

You closed your eyes, praying, and hoping, that Otto might be coming around here, and he wasn’t at Oscorp.

You could’ve been home…eating dessert and playing on the wii, and above all else safe…

“Please…” You said, and then, you heard shuffling noises, and small whirring noises.

You shuddered in fear, and bracing for your death, you thought one thing.

‘Otto didn’t treat me so bad after all..’

Suddenly, you felt your leg get grabbed, not too roughly, by something and you began to immediately freak out, before the person holding you hushed you gently.

“Ssh. Honey, it’s me.” He said, and then you recognized the voice.

“O-Otto?”

“Yes. Calm down, dear. It’s only me.”

You then jumped over to him and hugged him. “Oh, I was so worried-I-I thought that they-But…I’m here.” He said, patting you, as he let out a small smile. “Well, I did-“

Before he could continue he felt soft, dainty, and almost angel-like lips press on his cheek, as he turned to see you smile and hold his hand. “Let’s go home.” You told him.

He slowly nodded, scooping you up.

“Yes. Let’s go home.”

Of course. He’s told you multiple times that no matter where you run, he’ll always be 5 steps ahead of you, get used to it.

There is just simply no escape.

Of course, your stubborn form refuses and finds another way to escape from the twisted man.

So you come across a defect he forgot to cover up and you make a quick run for it, not daring to turn back.

You had finally escaped after what seemed like a long time ago, and this time, you would make sure that this was the last time, for certain.

It just had to.

You had finally made a way out from his terrifying base, and knew that you were out, safe and happy.

Making your way out, you headed back to your apartment and to grab your stuff to leave the state.

You also had to go make a call to Nick Fury, and the only phone you had is the one at your apartment.

You had made it home, and you began to pack your bags using only garbage bags as Otto had confiscated most of your suitcases, and you knew that Fury had to take you seriously, as Peter most likely told him about your stalker.

Once all the essetianals have been packed, you were ready to make a trip out of there, and you could finally be free, once and for all.

Once you arrived in the airport, you had bought yourself a phone to stay In contact with S.H.I.E.L.D. They told you to stay put, as a special jet would pick you up to hide you somewhere safe and confidential. Thankfully, they believed you.

Until suddenly, you heard the window crash, and worried murmurs, and then, all hell broke loose.

You saw strange android-like creatures suddenly zip around and shoot around the airport, where you silently swore before running off.

I mean, you were so close!!!!

You followed directions to go to the bathroom, instead of following the rest who were being guided to the storm shelter.

You went to the very last stall of the ladies room, and sat on the stall, as you shivered in fear.

Nervously, you curled up in the toilet, as you heard the noises of the strange androids outside.

“Please god….”

You put your hands together, praying that Otto might find you and save you.

“Please…”

You suddenly heard the door rip open, and then bathroom stall doors kick open.

Prying your hands together, you prayed for your savior, and then…silence.

Then suddenly, you felt something wrap around your leg and pull you from under the stall.

Screaming, you tried to fight back, before hearing a hushing voice quite down.

“Don’t fret, little rabbit…sssh…it’s me.” He said, and you recognized who it is.

He put you in bridal pose before then nuzzling his face into your hair, taking in that recognizable whiff, because he knew that he won’t be showing that god of mischief any mercy if he dared hurt you-even not directly.

“Ah, Otto- You’re my hero!!!” You squeaked, and he pridefully nodded. “Yes, I guess I am.” He said, and then smirked. “How about I-“

You gave him a quick kiss as he sputtred in shock, staring at you behind his red spectacles in shock.

He felt his cheek, before standing at full height, crawling out of The ladies room.

“Come now, my goddess. I’ll make sure the whole world is ours.”

You were laying on your soft mattress that you and Otto shared, where you played around with a small tamagotchi he had got you, and you heard him walk in your room.

“Honey? I’ll be right back. I have matters to attend you, and please-don’t do anything too drastic, alright?”

He kissed the top of your head before disappearing.

You clipped the tamagotchi to your pants and then pulled out one mattress from your bed and dragged it out into the river, it splashing onto the water, and you gently getting on it, and paddling/pushing away.

You made it to the shore, where you ran through the streets, and suddenly, you heard what seemed to be loud hissing noises.

You turned to see…you?

“Wha-“

You started before your clone threw a fist at you, and you dodged it, and backed away and ran. You turned to see your clone turn into a green and alien-like thing.

Not today, out of all days, there had to be a body-snatchers attack!!!

You ran away quickly to spot your clone behind you smile at you wickedly and their left arm turn into a machine gun.

“Oh god.”

You ran away once again, and it followed close behind, walking at a calm pace.

In disparity, you jumped into an empty car, and laid low, hoping not to be found.

‘Please…Otto…Save me…’ You whispered. ‘I’m so sorry…I just want to be back home, eating a nice soup, in your arms…’

“Ot…to?” You heard your counterpart gurgle out, sounding exactly like you, and you began to cry as you heard footsteps approach.

“Please…stay away…or else my giant octopus boyfriend will really get you!!!” You sniffed out, as you began to hear sound banging noises.

Then, there was gunshots, and a quick *snap*, and then…silence. You then heard footsteps, and the car door opened.

“Giant Octopus Boyfriend? Honestly, dear, that’s about the nicest thing you’ve called me so far~” A voice purred in your ear.

“Ah!”

You turned to see Otto, who then picked you up and held you as if you were a baby kitten, and kissed your head.

“It’s okay, honey. It’s okay. I’m here.” He said, and he wiped your tears. “Don’t cry.” He said softly, before smirking. “After all, who wouldn’t let his sweetheart be-“

Otto stopped and glanced at you, red-faced, as you looked at you, nuzzling his chest as you had adorably fell asleep on him. He smiled, holding his cheek where you had kissed him and smiled, and went away giddily, remembering to make you that comfort soup you wanted~

Urban Social Mod (USM) - Now Free To Public

After learning how to make social interactions... I decided to make something different. A mod made especially to urbanize the social interactions within game and make YOU feel more realistic with your gameplay.

The idea came to me a while ago but now that I have the full hang of creating social overrides, there is a ton more to come! However, since the first version of this mod is merely complete, it is now available free to the public.

‣  Urban Detail: Having this mod gives you a chance to enjoy your sims socializing with other sims in other ways. Adding interactions that can positively or negatively affecting relationships.

‣  BUFFS GALORE: Includes buffs for both the active sim and target sim for interactions.

‣  Non-Binary: No use of he or she throughout this mod. 

‣   New LINGO: NEW urban sim terminology (simlish-slang). 

‣   Randomized Reactions: Includes positive & negative (potentially controversial) outlooks. 

‣  More To Come: Current Status: 20 Social Interactions & 50 randomized buffs & 4 traits. More pending!

‣  Currently this mod does not conflict with any other interaction mod.  

‣  Download Urban Social Mod zip file. 

‣  Unzip this Urban Social zip file. 

‣  Place the files into a folder titled Urban Social Mod in your MODS folder. 

‣   Delete your localthumbcache.package within your Sims 4 folder. 

‣   Start your game and ensure that script mods are enabled.

Once you have moved the package files to your Mods folder (as long as your script mods have been enabled), when interaction with other sims, USM social’s should appear.

Muhaha. This is such a good very specific topic to latch onto, because you have an embarrassment of riches to sample. Summary-style spoilers.

SOFT SIDEKICK VERSION: Jonah actually knows right now. That reveal is in Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man (2017) #6, “My Dinner With Jonah”. It’s probably the strongest thread in that run. Jonah pretty much goes, “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE SPIDER-MAN.... I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAVE TO AID AND ABET A MENACE NOW.” “What? No one asked you to--” “No, I’m gonna.” Like it’s seriously just

JJJ: I can’t believe I’m your accomplice now. Give me something to do. Peter: What? Jonah, you’re not my accomplice. Go home. JJJ: No, seriously, is there an introductory pamphlet? Who else knows? Is there a club? Are there t-shirts? Peter: Go home, Jonah. JJJ: When I lie to a cop for you do I get a sticker? Or a voucher for therapy? Peter: Jonah, go home.

Jonah does not go home. He persists through the remainder of this SSM run, and on into the current run of ASM but that’s not as good. The above image is from the issue immediately after #6, which...is #297 because Marvel does that sometimes.

BETRAYED YELLING VERSION: Before that JJJ found out when everybody else did in the identity reveal from Civil War (the comic version), before that was wiped from continuity (with all that juicy relationship goodness only lightly explored even happening across like six titles, alas). He was SMAD. The scene with him finding out is at the beginning of Amazing Spider-Man #533, and the confrontation about it is the subject of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2005) #23, where Peter does the “baiting someone you love into punching you to make them feel better/speedrun them being mad at you” trope. Not as soft but they’re still fambily.

TRAGIC IRONY VERSION: Honorable mention goes to What If? (1977) #24, “What If Spider-Man Had Rescued Gwen Stacy?” As the names imply, this title explored hypotheticals and the status quo was as nothing to them. Here Peter’s identity is leaked to Jonah as a villain plot and he doesn’t go “maybe I should have slowed down and thought about it before reacting to this” until his work husband breaks up with him and takes the kids, leaving Jonah nothing but his empty crusade!

(Okay, Robbie takes Peter and Gwen. Betty’s allegiance is left unclear. On that note, since Betty is absolutely Peter’s work wife and Betty was at the Bugle first, does that make Peter Jonah’s work son-in-law?)

I love this timeline; it’s so wild. This one’s a tragedy and also hands down my personal favorite of the cited issues.

So there’s 616(-adjacent) reveals ordered from least to most sad pretty much directly in accordance with how long Peter and Jonah have known each other when the ball drops. Probably sample them in chronological order and not how I listed them so you leave feeling gooey about how the Bugle family sticks together, instead of sad about Jonah’s internal clash between deep love and a fatal dose of go-getter attitude. Or don’t, I’m not in charge of you.

BASICALLY ACQUAINTANCES BUT STILL MANAGE TO BE DRAMATIC VERSION?: For completeness’ sake, there’s also a Jonah reveal in Ultimate Spider-Man (2009) #14-15, which is fairly different in tone because it’s set in a dimension where the history between the characters doesn’t run as deep, though they propped it up some by having Jonah have a “Spider-Man is good actually” reveal earlier (USM (2000) 131/retold with less Hulk and more newspaper in the two-shot Ultimatum: Spider-Man Requiem). I’m a main universe bitch, but I looked it up just now just in case the Peter’s-a-minor-here version is secretly super good, and the reveal itself just kind of happens, but for the fallout Ultimate Jonah, who barely fucking knows his Peter, immediately declares he’ll FIGHT THE WORLD for him and turns his paper into a pro-Spidey rag. So that’s fun. Actually I’m just going to inline the wham panel.

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Ever since Sam met you, you had always been staring at him with a monotonous expression

He wasn't surprised

I mean, you're an agent

They're known to be no fun

Even then, since you two were so close in age, Sam tried to become friends

It was the classic introverted, low-key person meets a happy, energetic extrovert that decides to adopt them

Sam had never heard you laugh or smile widely

Even when you smile at him, it's one of those tiny but cute smiles

Or maybe even an empty smile

Other than that, he's used to your Resting Bitch Face

When he finally did manage to hear your laugh

It wasn't exactly a laugh

Basically, he just made a snarky joke towards Peter

And you did one of those breathy laughs

That was only through your nose

And Sam looked at you with wide eyes

Seemingly surprised that you even had a sense of humour

And ever since then he's been trying to get you to laugh

Or smile

Or at least react

Unsuccessful each time

And more importantly it's driving Fury nearly mad

Because Sam is taking every opportunity to mess up a team meeting, training, debriefing

Any scene that is professional and inappropriate to be making jokes or dancing around

Sam is trying to make you laugh

And you have got to give it to the guy

He's trying hard

So hard that you almost feel bad for him

So, one day you decide to chuckle at one of his jokes

Once he hears it, it fills him up with more motivation

And he becomes dead set on hearing you burst into uncontrollable laughter

You're honestly kind of concerned at this point

So, you pull him aside one day to ask just why he's so stubborn when it comes to this

He can't make you laugh

But he sure can make your heart flutter

When Sam finally does get what he wants

It wasn't intentional

Sam wasn't trying to make you laugh

He was just scared of a bunny

Rather the string of curse words that left his mouth after

Before he ran away from the fluffy bunny

Usually, you would've been able to control your laughter
