Events Manager (full-time)
USQ’s events are one of the most fundamental components of our league; not only do they provide the key competitive structure for our league, but they also represent the sport of quidditch to the public. The Events Manager focuses on event logistics and support, and is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of all USQ events and related programs, including national and regional championships.

Membership Expansion Manager (part-time, 15 hours per week)
USQ’s strategic plan for 2018 through 2021 is centered on sustainable expansion of the league. Specifically focusing on recruitment and retention, the Membership Expansion Manager will work to achieve the key goals outlined in our strategic plan and to support the membership department’s programs. The Membership Expansion Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, Membership Director, and other staff and volunteers to ensure that USQ’s membership department is able to successfully and sustainably grow.

Communications Manager (part-time, 25 hours per week)
USQ’s strategic plan for 2018 through 2021 is centered on sustainable expansion of the league, focusing on retention, recruitment, and reach. Specifically concentrating on reach, the Communications Department at US Quidditch is in charge of getting the word out about league programs and events and helping to frame league communication strategies. The Communications Manager is responsible for working with staff to communicate mission, programs, and accomplishments via printed materials, social media, and other web-related platforms.

Quidditch is a real sport, but USQ sucks
I’m not sure how many of you know that quidditch is an actual sport, but it is, and I play it competitively. My team should’ve gone to regionals (we were number 7 in the Midwest) but we didn’t because of the issues described in the letter below. We’re tired of the Midwest being brushed over by United States Quidditch (USQ) and them basically treating us like we’re not worth it. Please share this so some changes can be made so that I can play this sport that I love so much without worry of these mistakes being made again. It’s exhausting.
We just want to play quidditch. @usquidditch
Thanks for listening, from your local quidditch player

Welcome to the Hall of Fame
In quidditch, there has occasionally been a call for a “Quidditch HoF”. Many of those calls have been for personal gain, hopefuls wishing to increase their notoriety in this still growing sport, and even those wishing to elevate quidditch to the ranks of other great sports such as Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, etc. This blog is dedicated to meeting that need/request for a Hall of Fame.
The requirements to be eligible for the Quidditch Hall of Fame are as follows:
1. Must be nominated by at least one of the following:
- One of our panel of writers.
- Nomination from the national governing bodies in the IQA, including the IQA itself.
- Writers/Staff from The Eighth Man, Quidditch Post and any other major quidditch publication.
- Fan Nominations.
- Professional League staff nominations, which include both Major League Quidditch and Quidditch Premier League.
2. Must have been retired for at least 1 full year. At the present time, we will take nominations for players who last played in an official match during the 2015-2016 quidditch season based off of the US Quidditch season calendar. That doesn't mean that league contributors cannot be inducted. In fact, we strongly encourage program founders, NGB leaders, and other iconic individuals who build quidditch up. This is not limited to just the player side, but the organizational side as well.
3. Must have advanced the sport in some way positive, whether that’s helping quidditch to gain national/regional notoriety, a groundbreaking first for the sport, or something of similar capacity.
4. Teams can be selected for the Hall of Fame, and for teams to be eligible, they must meet the either of the following criteria(Note: Teams selected do not count towards the individual selection class):
-Won a World Cup/National Championship/League Championship.
-Created a monumental achievement outside of a championship to grow/better the sport of quidditch.
*All international nominations are welcome and encouraged*
Timeline for nominations are as follows:
1. A nomination sheet will go live by March 15th. At that time, people may nominate players, individuals and teams for selection for the 2017 Class.
2. After April 15th (the end of the nomination period) our staff will comb through the nominations and begin our selection process. Similar to the NFL HoF, we will narrow all nominations down until we have 10 members selected for the Hall of Fame.
3. The present year class will be announced prior to the next USQ season, (2017 Class will be selected and announced during the summer of 2017, prior to September 2017. Exact date to be announced)
4. After the 2017 Class is inducted, nominations will open for the entire 217-2018 season prior to the 2018 USQ National Championship. (Usually early April)
Details on nominations will be announced this evening, as well as the sheet for nominations.
Thanks and good luck! Welcome to the Hall of Fame!
