Haru knows he shouldn’t put that kind of faith into men like Handsome Jack. Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t, and they certainly wouldn’t think twice about running away from the situation in any way possible.

But… As small as it is, it means something to make that kind of offer in this galaxy, doesn’t it? And it’s not as though he can refuse it; his family is on a far away planet. He’s all alone… Except, oddly enough, for a man whose reputation proceeds him and should have been dead.

Borderlands verse.

Born on Athenas, Fíann was the only daughter of Tadgh /Tige/ and Clodagh /Kloda/ Foghladh, doted on as an only child. Ever since she was young, she exhibited siren-like powers the way her mother and grandmother had (as well as the tattoos; unlike her female ancestors Fíann had them on both of her arms). While she was young, there were few signs as to the change in her character that would take over once she met Merric Murchadh /Murphy/.

Running into each other in highschool, they slowly became close friends - or so Fíann thought. After they started to know each other better Merric became obsessed with her and tried to get her to date him, spreading rumours about her and her family after she turned him down. As he came from a rich and powerful family, Merric succeeded in ruining Fíann and her family’s reputation to mess with her, which caused them to clash countless times, often with Fíann starting the fight, attempting to claw Merric’s eyes out and having to be dragged away from him. Because of his family’s power and because Merric’s parents did not wish to make things more serious, the false claims against Fíann’s family were dropped, although for a long time people believed them to be bandits.

Though Fíann gained a reputation for being chaotic and unpredictable - traits often associated with villains - she took after her parents and became a researcher, wanting to distance herself from her history of violence so as not to bring trouble to her parents. Eventually, she was sent to Pandora to uncover its Vault’s secrets. Used to Athenas and its people and a bit shaken from the journey, Fíann stumbled onto Pandora, curious yet confused. What the hell would she be doing on a planet as barren as this? But soon she got to find out not everything is what it seems to be...

In the Borderlands your time is limited, if your time runs out you die. You can extend your time by playing games.

After you (and X amount of others) register to a game you cannot leave. The game then shows a playing card to give insight about the game.

The value is the difficulty, Ace being lowest/easiest. King being the highest/hardest.

The suit is the category. ♦️ = Intelligence and Wit ♠️ = Endurance and Strength ♥️ = Trust and Betrayal ♣️ = Combines all 3 but emphasizes teamwork

How hard did this have to be? An escaped HYPERION experiment shouldn't be this hard to get back. None had been before, and Beth had seen a lot through the years. Vale, somehow, was singlehandedly the dumbest and smartest person she'd ever met. It was almost IMPRESSIVE, really.

No amount of Hyperion mercs or hired assassins could take them out or bring them in. Not even her. And that fact alone made her blood boil deep, deep down in her soul.

"Come on, mate, really?" Her accent was thick, exasperation quickly recovered into something resembling calm. "What's your problem? Jack isn't going to touch you, if that's what you're worried about."

Somehow, she doubted that was what they were worried about. But she was — for herself. HANDSOME JACK was simultaneously her best friend and worst enemy. He'd have her hung, drawn, and quartered ( probably something worse ) if Vale got too out of control. So far, they were fine as they were. But that wasn't the point.

"What do you want? I can try to help, Vale, but you're not fucking talking to me!"

Open RP (Borderlands AU)

Rarely does this man venture away from the planet he calls his home. He uses his abilities to help those around him, ensures that he's as good for his community as he can possibly, even torments himself by holding himself to a standard he cannot achieve in his desire to help.

But it's his desire to help that brought him here, looking over a hellscape he's largely unfamiliar with. That desire, prompted by a distress call that demanded his attention as soon as it came to him, and, in spite of his family's warnings, he left his planet, temporarily content without him, and now that he's here in this place he feels a sense of unease.

Is it a trap? Is it genuine? Had it been placed by mistake? Will he get there on time if he's even needed?

All of these questions race through his mind, but it doesn't stop him from moving forward to trace that signal, towards the unknown.

hc;; given that Fíann was born on Athenas, a calm planet with barely any population, she started out being better at running longer distances rather than shooting guns. As such, it took learning to get used to that, and some struggling, too. She still doesn't see herself as perfect with guns, but there has certainly been improvement if she's managed to survive this far... right?
