You know how throughout the series Buffy is represented by the color blue? Especially in Spike’s eyes (dressing mannequins or Harmony in blue to be Buffy coded) and I mean that both literally and figuratively, I will explain.

It’s usually a baby blue that is used to represent her, and it seems to symbolize her heroism, her moral integrity, her strength and vulnerability all at the same time (there are more but I just want to make a quick point).

Now think about Spike’s eyes - the only part that shows who he truly is through the armor of the big bad persona - deep blue, representing very similar ‘true blue’ traits within himself- heroism, moral integrity, strength and vulnerability, and so many more- the deep color an intensification of those baby blue traits we see in Buffy, but driven by passion, love, and devotion rather than by duty and responsibility we see motivating Buffy.

We even see him wear the color as a whole shirt in season 7 when he is ensouled and has started removing the armor of his big bad persona and attempts to parallel Buffy and the do-gooder look.

I just like that this is another way they fit together, complement, and reflect each other. They are soulmates and I will not be taking questions.
