Midnight at the Paradise (dir. Vanessa Matsui) x WFF 2022.
Matsui’s film uses its relationship drama to wrap around an appreciation of cinema as a storytelling medium. Midnight at the Paradise has many hallmarks of an indie romantic drama directed by an actor turned first-time filmmaker with its naturalistic cinematography filmed on streets and focus on sharp dialogue. Still, it’s an honest portrait of artists struggling to come to terms with commitment and their own adulthood.

2x9 of shadowhunters (we’ve turned off greys for the night) is kinda lame. like why is dot here wtf was in vanessa matsui’s contract to where she appears sporadically in random episodes for almost zero reason. why. like 2x10 is so good this is terrible prelude for it.
