1. Meditate with a real shell, just hold it and examine it until you go into a trance if you want! Connect to the water spirits that are still attached to the shell. I like a good scallop shell but any shell will do
2. Drink lots of water. Make sure you have a good supply of water close enough to your bed to where you only have to sit up to drink it (charge it with whatever intent you wish).
3. Do scrying with a sealed clear glass jar of water. It can even have some sand swirling around in it if that helps you scry.
4. Mist yourself with rain water you’ve collected and put into a spray bottle. You can even add a drop of lavender or lemon essential oil to spice it up!
5. Watch videos of different bodies of water on your device. This is super easy to do from bed and it’s ok if you fall asleep!
6. Speaking of falling asleep, you can sleep with a Pearl bracelet or a crystal that corresponds to the water element under your pillow, so even when you snooze you connect to water.
7. Watch documentaries of different aquatic creatures in their natural habitats. (I avoid ocean ones due to my fear of sharks but that’s just a personal preference).
8. Sleep under a blue blanket for color magic!
9. Lucid dream of you can! You can visit a water source that way from your very own bed!
10. Pray to a water god or goddess or spirit of your choosing if that fits your practice.
I’m here to say one thing today. Just one. The goddess Hel deserves more hype. She is amazing and absolutely beautiful. I’ve experienced firsthand her enduring patience, and through her rule over the dead she has given me a unique and priceless view on the value of living life to its fullest. Hail Hel!
Some people find the mourning doves (that hang out in my backyard and on the side of the house) annoying. But ever since I was a little girl, the sad but sweet song of the mourning doves was always a comfort to me. Even when I lived at my childhood home they would hang out in our front yard there. They’re beautiful creatures, guardians of my little plant paradise. And they bring me peace when I have anxiety. As if their call simply says “You are home. You are safe.”
Things You Can Do To Honor Skadi If You Don’t Live Somewhere That Has Cold Winters!
1. Invite her to come with you when you go searching/hunting for specific items at markets or stores. This is like a modern equivalent of hunting, and works no matter where you live!
2. Put winter snowstorm ambience videos on the tv while you offer things to her!
3. Write her poetry!
4. Ask for her help noticing the more subtle changes that winter brings to your area!
5. Work with the crystals Iceland Spar Calcite and/or red garnet. The first will bring you clarity and the second will bring you strength during the darker months.
I’m that one mentally-ill witch bitch with a lot of creative ideas and so little energy to actually follow through. I have BPD and a disability that majorly effects my energy level. In other words, I’m a spoonie witch, so be patient!
