Random Veronaville Headcanons

I have been Veronapilled so now I have HC's to share with the class :)

-Titania started a tradition within the upper-class society of the Sims world ( besides the Capps think the Goths, Altos, Vanderburgs, Villareals) where for her and Oberon's anniversary she hosts a ball where all other Sims families travel out to Veronaville for a month in the summer and they have small social events throughout the month where they can socialize and set up business deals and their kids can become friends or like date. but on the last night, Tatiana has this huge Ball where all the guests and Tatiana's family dress up in white except Tatiana who wears a colored animal print

-The Monty's own a restaurant that is very successful and Romeo is set to own. Which Romeo very much tries to push on to Mercutio because Romeo likes to cook and all but he does not want to own a restaurant and neither does Mercutio. This is a common fight till one dinner when Antonio is sick of listening to them fight so he tells them the restaurant will be his till they figure it out. Romeo and Mercutio never figure it out.

- Consort constantly calls Kent, Kenny or Kennedy. Because Consort swears that he has 4 daughters. Not because he hates Kent just because he swears that when Kent was born in Roaring Heights he was a girl but when they moved to Veronaville Kent was male(This is based on the fact that when I played the Capps in Roaring Heights baby Capp was female)

-Consort has a very much once it's 9:30 I don't care what goes on in my house because I am in my nice soundproof room. Consort got his and Contessa room sound proofed after her realized he was going to have 4 teenagers at once

-The Capp grandkids take advantage of the fact that Consort doesn't care after 9:30 way more than Consorts kids ever did

-Tybalt and Juliette are the worst offenders. They both sneak out and sneak people in constantly, Even worse there has been times where Tybalt was trying to leave at night and Juliette took his car to do the same

-It's also bad because several time they have both ran into each other sneaking in the Monty Brother and they start fighting about if we are going to the same place don't take both cars and then its weird and all four of then just watch a movie

-Tybalt just doesn't like Romeo. not even in the way of the feud. He just doesn't like him as a person

-Juliette and Romeo get married really young. Like too young, Like they lied about their birthdays and went to Tartosa over the summer and got legally married at 15 before there sophomore year of high school

-Tybalt and Marla Biggs graduated in the same year and are best friends

-Tybalt and Hermia Share a birthday

-Juliette is really only called Juliette by Consort and her Aunts. She prefers to go by Jules.

-Puck lowkey hates Veronaville and moves out to travel and only visits for holidays and his mom's month-long party

I have the headcanon that Patrizio always say to his grandchildren that when he was young he was as cool and handsome as them (for the beauty canon of his time), but he looked nothing like them. In fact, Mercutio and Romeo always laugh in his face when they look to his old photos, and Patrizio gets very offended.

Instead, when they look at old photos of Isabella, they start complimenting her, hugging her and giving her lots of kisses on the cheek to cuddle her. This makes Patrizio jealous. Mercutio and Romeo know this and do it on purpose because it is fun to see their grandfather offended and jealous.

Do you have any non-strangetown sims headcanons?

I've been getting sucked into the Veronaville side of the fandom but I'm still so new to all of it that I don't really have much tacked down, headcanon-wise. (I've been drawing goofy doodles of these sims for weeks because I haven't committed what they look like to memory well enough to actually draw them 💀)

One thing I've been doing that I really like is drawing the Monty brothers with curly hair. it looks pretty and I will die on this hill

This outfit was based on the ones Mercutio wore in the 1996 Romeo and Juliet movie (if you haven't watched it PLEASE at least watch some clips of Mercutio he's so ??!!?? WUAGH)

deadcanons: the vatores (earlyish stuff)

I've been slowly typing up headcanons lately while I'm waiting on renders - I'll put them up as I finish them! These are my ramblings about what I think the vatores' early vampire years were like, starting a bit before Lilith turned and ending around when Caleb was a prime vampire. This is pretty long.

Caleb, Lily, and Lilith were born in Veronaville in the late 1930s/early 1940s, meaning they came of age as occults in the 1960s.

Lilith met Vlad shortly after her parents, along with Lily’s, died in a horrific car accident back in the good ol’ days before cars were required to have seat belts (which btw, in the US wasn't until 1968). He preyed on her grief and her fear of death and human weakness. At the time, Lily was lost in her own grief and Caleb was jealous of the attention Lilith was getting from Vlad.

While Vlad was absolutely manipulating Lilith, she did ask to be turned.

Caleb was super naive when Lilith first turned. He thought he’d be able to spend time with his sister as usual and didn’t recognize the danger in being the lone mortal barhopping with a bunch of unruly vampires. Lilith used to hang out with the Rebellious Vampires amongst others, soooooo...

Lilith told her new vampire friends that Caleb was off-limits. No feeding, no turning.

Caleb had fairly recently finished culinary school, and was working as a sous chef in an Italian restaurant. He was so stoked.

Though Lilith respected the fact that becoming a vampire would destroy Caleb’s life - you can be a vampire, you can be an Italian chef, but you definitely cannot be both - she quickly realized that she didn’t want to do the occult thing or live the immortal life without the people she loved. Shortly before Caleb was turned, he and Lilith talked it out and decided that he should become a spellcaster, with the hope that he could cure Lily with magic and make her a spellcaster too, and then they could all be immortal together. Miss Hell got to him before he could figure out where the portal was, and their relationship with Lily only got worse from there.

Miss Hell was turned a few years before Lilith was, but they became minor vampires at around the same time. They were rivals for Vlad’s approval, and he had fun playing them off each other. Very much a "Daddy loves ME best!!!" kinda dynamic.

Miss Hell is kind of a shitty vampire - like I get big Team Rocket vibes off of her. Caleb surpassed her within a few decades.

After some petty disagreement between Lilith and Miss Hell, Vlad suggested that turning Caleb would be a hilarious prank and a great way to get back at Lilith. Vlad wanted Caleb turned because it would give him an extra level of control over Lilith, but he didn’t want to do it himself because he thought (correctly) that Lilith would never forgive him, and might even leave the coven.

Caleb felt comfortable around his sister’s new vampire friends because he didn’t think any of them would go against Lilith’s order not to harm him. He didn’t realize that Miss Hell was more of a frenemy than a friend, so one night when she asked him if he’d like to find somewhere a little more private, he really didn’t think it’d be his blood getting sucked.

Lilith was not amused by Miss Hell’s “hilarious prank.” After she found Caleb and got him safely home, she stormed over to Vlad’s mansion and tried to beat Miss Hell to death with her bare hands in front of the entire coven. At this point, Lilith had started to develop supernatural strength, and she would’ve ripped Miss Hell’s shriveled heart right out of her chest if Vlad hadn’t called her off. Vlad was very impressed by Lilith’s ferocity. She gained his favor, but he lost her loyalty. Miss Hell wound up sidelined.

Caleb has always served as Lilith’s moral compass. She is aware that she is selfish and lacks empathy - she has trouble truly caring about anyone except Caleb and Lily - and she doesn’t like that about herself. She deeply loved and respected her parents and feels bad that she struggles to live by the values they taught her. Caleb, on the other hand, has their father’s compassion and patience (as well as his ambitious and materialistic traits), and she generally looks to him as the authority on what their parents would’ve wanted. After Caleb turned, he got fully caught up in the chaos and debauchery, turning his back on the person he was. Without Caleb to moderate her worst impulses, she fully embraced her darker side.

Caleb’s journey back to the light started when he developed his guilty drinker weakness as a minor vampire. I don’t see this as just switching on like it does in-game, but rather developing over time. He had trouble figuring out what was happening to him for a long time, and it’s not like Vlad had any advice for him beyond “stop being a goddamn baby.”

Caleb met Inna at a gala the Bloodvein coven was hosting when he was a minor vampire. Bloodvein, her owner at the time, had her mesmerized and was more or less showing her off like a trophy or pet (like this promotional render). Something about that made Caleb deeply uncomfortable, though he wasn’t entirely sure why.

At that point, Caleb was struggling to maintain his place in the coven - Vlad was increasingly disappointed in him and Caleb badly wanted to win back his approval, so he had the idea to pull a hilarious prank against Bloodvein for some perceived slight. He thought it would make him look cool in front of Vlad. At first he thought about drinking from Inna - feeding on another vampire’s thrall is an enormous mark of disrespect - but something about that made him feel deeply uncomfortable, so he decided to turn her instead, essentially doing to her what Miss Hell did to him. He still feels deeply conflicted about the whole thing - he legitimately was not trying to help her and he didn’t ask permission, and yet it ended up being the best thing that could’ve happened to her. They've remained friends, though he feels incredibly guilty when he's around her.

Lilith started coming back to herself when she realized just how miserable Caleb was. If feeding on humans made Caleb feel that bad, they must be doing something horrific, even if it didn’t feel that way to her. She started making plans to get her and Caleb out of the coven.

as much as i like the local teens, i think the adults deserve the love too. some of them were created through a collaboration with my dear friend push. i'll add the read more link after goneril's headcanons, so if someone doesn't want to read the full post could scroll through more easily.

the capp sibs

goneril capp:

the middle child with an inferior complex: was convinced that she can't be beautiful as cordelia and smart as regan, and is clearly unfavored by both of her parents. despite her cold and strict façade, goneril's a very emotional person.

a massive people pleaser, especially when it comes to her parents. only had that much kids in hopes that contessa would've chosen her kid as an heir. dropped that idea only after she passed, seemingly regretting even doing so. nowadays, after contessa's death, she's truly trying to be a better mother, even though she thinks it's a little too late in miranda's case.

used to date claudio in the past and was almost ready to abandon her home just to be with him, until she learnt that he only dated her as "a dare". he had also publicly broke up with her, making her look like a desperate. she'd never forgave him for that stunt, of course. years after she's still thinking whether she was in love with him or the idea of him. the idea of being free, to be particular.

one of the best dressed people in the town, always knows how to present herself.

is keen on cooking, though, she's not as skillful as kent, she really enjoys the process of preparing the food

regan capp:

the youngest daughter, so she had not as much pressure from her parents compared as her older sisters. it suits them fine, since they enjoy doing the things on their own. tends to be very independent and stubborn in her descision making as a result.

consort's favorite kid, undoubtedly, since she was named after his prime caretaker (his grandma) and resembles contessa A LOT, both by appearance and character (the list also includes her eyesight problems and difficulties with showing emotions). however, due to her resemblance to their mother, they're often targeted by isabella monty, whenever they cross paths.

is a staunch childfree, she had enough of watching her parents and sisters raising kids to be permanently dissuaded from having them in her life.

is heavily into sports, does a lot of activities like jogging, swimming, playing tennis and football and skiing. they are also a master fencer in the family, tybalt swears one day he will prevail and take over the title from his aunt.

astronomy is her non-sport passion. they enjoy spending their time at the veronaville observatory and fighting with antonio monty over that territory

a bisexual, who also kind of questioned her gender before, has some tendencies towards non-binarity but she's still isn't so sure about it. a she/they pronoun user.

kent capp:

is an accident kid, also the youngest one and the only son - truly a misfortunate fate to have, once you had born in the capp family. contessa had a trouble with birthing him, so consort still (subconsciously) blames kent for contessa's declined health after that. he's the only kid who vastly prefers contessa to consort as a parental figure.

as a result, he hides his unique eyes with the blue lenses in order to have less similarities with that man. would rather die than call consort a father.

has a super fancy STEM degree, never worked a day in his actual work field, instead had changed like 10 to 15 low-paying jobs. from a cashier to a delivery guy to a stripper - you name it!

despite being against the feud, he still takes offence on his sisters' and niblings' behalf. once claudio referred goneril's dress as a "hoe sack", and the next day his car's tires were suspiciously slashed.

has passion for cooking and is darn great at it. once pranked the montys by hiring himself into their restaurant as a cook, they only figured it out after almost a month of his work.

probably one day would open his own gay bar with some cool appetizers and cocktails of his own creating

has a long-lost twin brother in strangetown named vidcund

cordelia capp:

the eldest. the heiress. contessa's favourite. a true capp woman. was very beautiful and charismatic

wasn't as goody-two-shoes person as she initially appeared, though she wasn't necessarily evil or nasty but she had her downsides.

cordelia was very, VERY headstrong and was not afraid to show her teeth when she couldn't have her thing "in a nice way".

yes, she was against the feud, that is correct, but she'd also been driven by the potential financial profit. after all, feuding can be pretty expensive both on money and lives. wasn't above of idea of eloping juliette with one of the claudio's sons, if it could seal the peace deal.

had this surprising ruthlessness when it came to managing stuff in business, yet she lacked regan's foresight in some ways.

still, despite not being the greatest mother on earth, treated her children equally, compared to her parents, each of whom had their own favorite.

the monty sibs

antonio monty:

a middle child, he's meek and overempathetic compared to much bolder bianca and claudio. he's also very easy person to manipulate or guiltrip

had always been on chubby side, since his early childhood, the only time when he was fit was his late teens-early adulthood years

the most skilfull monty in the cooking field (besides isabella) but he had always wanted to be an astronaut instead. still to this day has a passion for astronomy and, of course, out of all people in veronaville, the other person who's into that as much as him is that goddamn capp woman

he likes cooking in general, but he doesn't like do it for life, yet he feels obliged to do so, since his siblings and niblings are quite unhelpful. he personally peaked as a chef with that prize-winning wedding cake of his

used to be a punk in his teen/college student years, looking back, he's not really proud of who he was back then due to some questionable stuff he had done, but those were his golden years for sure

before hero came into the picture, the rest of the family speculated whether antonio was gay or not

he's either insomniac or sleeps like a rock, there's no in between

bianca monty:

the youngest child, also a daughter. unlike kent, she wasn't as screwed being the youngest monty and a girl

is an accountant at the restaurant, won't even come closer to a working stove for more than five meters. she also works as a freelance comic artist and the interior designer (has a degree in it, actually)

is vegan, which sometimes can be exhausting, cause the rest of the family are avid meat-eaters, but antonio usually accommodates to his lil' sis by making her favorite vegan dishes for the family gatherings

is an aroace, doesn't really want a romantic relationship, but still wants a child. seriously considered an option of kent being her sperm donor

she's terrible at handling the alcohol. does a lot of weird shit whenever she's wasted.

claudio monty:

was the eldest son. a proud, self-assured man. patrizio was hoping that he'd take over the restaurant after he retires. unfortunately for him, he outlived his own son.

was an asshole, to be precise. yes, he was very competitive, very determined, was an "efficient business manager", but an asshole nevertheless.

dreamed of becoming a famous musician and even had his own band in his teens. wrote a lot of songs about his exes, lol. most of them are kind of mid, though there was the one which made it to the local veronaville radio station and became a hit. this one he wrote about goneril in particular. even till his later years, he wasn't sure whether he actually loved her or not.

was rumored to be involved with antonio's late wife, hero. no one truly knows whether the rumors were true. he was also named as a main reason for her passing, shortly after his own death, though antonio prefers to believe it was the capps' deed.

romeo was his favorite one, since mercutio was the one who made him tie a knot with his mother

What’s your headcanon for Tybalt?

That's maybe less of a headcanon and more of a General Thought (tm) that I Have To Get Out There, but if Veronaville were a TV drama, the only guy I could cast as him is Cameron Monaghan. He's the ultimate Tybalt. Like

I'm playing a Sims 2 megahood, mostly focusing on an edited Strangetown, but with most of the Maxis premades, and a few added quirks.

I'd love to add Douglasville and Arkhelios, because they fit the vibes, but neither of them seems to have a subhood version :(

STORY

I want to at least start the story low-stakes and work up to the harder, more emotionally hefty stuff. Part of the reason I've been struggling so hard with the Uberhood is that writing... like... the Grunts... is a challenge.

This is why the first couple chapters center mostly around lone weirdoes who don't have any ties to a grander story. I want to introduce some metaplot eventually, but I want to do it slowly.

Premade Heights

Since I’ve been playing around with the Stretchskeleton cheat on my own time, I decided I’d compile a list of which heights I use for each of the modern-day Veronaville premades.

I only use the following heights for family pictures or scene recreations. I do not use them for playthroughs or preview images, where I instead use the default height.

For the record, most of the height conversions were taken from this list by chickadeelee on LJ. I had to do some guessing with the taller sims (and by taller sims, I mean Caliban).

As you can see, some of the teens have “final” heights listed while others do not. This is because not all of the teens have hit the point in their lifestage when they stop growing. For females, that would be during their midteens (10 -- 6 days until adulthood); whereas males stop growing during their late teens (5 days -- end). Juliette and Tybalt are the only teens who meet those specifications when you first play the neighborhood, so that’s why I didn’t specify their “final” height like I did their contemporaries.

Mercutio (6 days until adulthood), Romeo (8 days until adulthood), and Puck (10 days until adulthood) are in their midteens when the game starts. Hermia (12 days until adulthood) and Miranda (13 days until adulthood) are in their early teens.

The kids and toddlers don’t really have set heights, but here are the following heights I use for each age group.

Toddlers

Early Toddlerhood (4 days until childhood) -- 0.95

Mid Toddlerhood (3 days until childhood)-- 1.0

Late Toddlerhood (2--1 days until childhood) -- 1.2

Ariel has four days to go until childhood when the game starts, so she would use the height assigned to early toddlerhood sims.

Children

Early Childhood (8 -- 6 days until adolescence) -- 0.93

Mid Childhood (5 -- 4 days until adolescence) -- 1.0

Late Childhood (3 days -- end until adolescence) -- 1.2

Beatrice, Benedick, and Hal are all four days away from adolescence when the game starts, whereas Bottom is five days away. As such, those four sims would be assigned the default child height. Desdemona is six days away from adolescence, so she’d be assigned the early childhood height when the game starts.

As for the ancestors, I haven’t decided on all of their heights yet. The ones based on historical figures (Contessa’s and Albany’s ancestors) use the same heights provided there is a surviving record of it. The rest of them have heights that I picked out either because they worked with their descendants’ heights, or because I pictured the sim being that height.

As of right now, I have recorded the following 

Cleopatra Capp was 5′11″

Antony Capp was 6′0″

Julius Caesar was 5′7″

Octavius Capp was 5′9″

William Norman was 5′10″

Mathilde Norman was 5′0″

Richard Norman was 5′8″ (I think this is is somewhat historically accurate, but I may be wrong)

All of these heights are ones that I found for their historical counterparts. I couldn’t find a height for the following sims, but here’s what I came up with on my own:

I have Scribonia Capp listed as being 5′1″ (I picture her being on the shorter side, even though her parents were both above average height).

I couldn’t find any specific heights for Henry and Eleanor Anjou, but I read that Henry II of England was medium height, whereas Eleanor of Aquitaine was tall.

And here’s some ancestral premades based on either figures from mythology or one of Shakespeare’s plays:

Andromache Thebe is listed as 5′6″

Hector Thebe is listed as 6′0″

Vincentio Pantalone is listed as 5′9″

Francisca Pantalone is listed as 5′3″

Hecuba Albion is listed as 5′2″

Priam Albion is listed as 6′0″
